Does jari identity as a sigma male

ok so as a pathetic beta male who always looks at the ground when he walks, i'm unfamiliar with the ways of alpha and sigma men and had to search this up.

comparing the virtues of alpha and sigma, i do believe that narinder embodies both alpha and sigma traits. he desires dominance over all others and will use fear and power to subjugate his unders (aka everyone else) but still prefers keeping a large amount of distance between him and his followers.

thus, we can conclude--ok i'm gonna drop the mansplaining act but i do think, purely from his viewpoint. he'd identify with more of the alpha stereotype than a sigma one. in his heyday, i do think bishop narinder ran a lot of counter surveillance, espionage, and cover-ups, all of which do involve integrating himself into follower populations. he sees them as pawns, sure, but he does rely on them to an extent, and as a result he'd not that far removed from traditional social structures. sure, his use of resurrection means he's willing to buck off the status quo to bring forward dangerous and revolutionizing magic, but he's very stuck in his old ways in other aspects.

so yeah. semi-serious answer for a silly ask X)

MISUNDERSTOOD VILLAIN

prepare for an onslaught of both the most dehumanizing and hateful takes, and flood of thirst comments. you are chronically misunderstood. whether or not you're actually evil is debatable. you may be acting out for revenge, to defend someone you love, or even just to protect yourself. you're a pretty jaded person. you don't trust or even really like most people. maybe you did at one point. but that part of you is gone, and you don't go a single day without grieving it. you think a lot about what your life could have been. you're stuck in the past. you're angry and maybe you don't even want to be, but this is the only way you can see to survive. you're open, but less in a trusting way and more like a wound. you don't like to let people see you, but the hurt spills out of you before you can stop it. you're impulsive, even as you try hard to plan and prepare. maybe someday your side of the story will finally be heard. until then, you can convince yourself that being hated is safer anyway.

DESPERATE NARRATOR

this story is a cycle, and you're spinning around it like a hamster in a ball being tormented by a cat. you know how this story ends. after all, you've told it a thousand times. but you try to change it every time. you love the people in this story more than anything. so watching them fall victim to the narrative breaks you in a way you can't begin to describe. but all you can do is tell the story── their story── with tears in your eyes. you're prone to anxiety and feelings of helplessness. you have so much love in your heart, and for once you wish it would change something. it didn't. it doesn't. it won't. but you refuse to stop telling the story. and you refuse to stop loving the people in it. in this way, no one is stronger than you. you just wish being strong hurt less.

UNASSUMING EXTRA

you had maybe 3 lines but you will forever own my heart. you play a very minor role, one often forgotten about (not by me tho bby, i'll love you forever). however, your significance in the story is pretty big. something about you propels the story forward in a way no one else can do. you tend to blend into the background, and you probably like it that way. you want a simple life, free from the drama of the main characters. unfortunately, your story is almost always cut short. your role is usually a death that kickstarts the plot. going unnoticed did not save you, but it probably did bring you some peace of mind.

TORTURED LOVE INTEREST

you're so hot. sorry about the horrors. you're the kind of person people immediately notice. whether you have a distinct style, are more outgoing, or are just plain beautiful, you make an impression. people usually feel the need to protect you, which probably frustrates you to no end. you're not weak! you're not fragile! you're not helpless! but the people in your life tend to disagree. maybe it's your lover, the protagonist, trying to keep you out of their own turmoil. maybe it's someone responsible for you in some way, keeping you away from your lover, while they head down an increasingly dark path. regardless, all you really want is a sense of autonomy! unfortunately, you're very likely to die before that happens. the audience will be so caught up in the grief your death causes the protagonist that they forget to grieve you as a person. you deserved better, but unfortunately this is not your story. maybe it should have been.

SWEET SUPPORTING CHARACTER

i wanna be your grandma so bad, please let me pinch your face and knit you a sweater. you're most likely the best friend of the protagonist, and there's some possible overlap between you and the narrator. you're sweet and try very hard to be selfless. you watch the ones you love descend into darkness, and make every effort to help them through it all. it's not enough. you keep trying to make it enough. you provide comic relief, a listening ear, a hug, advice── any method of support you can think of. your own personal tragedy isn't documented. sometimes you wish it was, even though you're the one who ensures it is not. you want people to care for you the way you do for others. but you refuse to ask for it, so you wait for others to read between the lines. they usually don't. at least you're the one who gets to survive the tragedy. no matter how many times you beg to trade places, it is always you at the end, sitting at someone else's grave.

BOLD PROTAGONIST

you're the star of the show, baby! and boy does that come with a lot of emotional turmoil. you have a seemingly endless supply of determination. whether you have a lot of goals, or one big one, you're constantly working towards it. you're pretty restless, and struggle with imposter syndrome and generally feeling like you should be doing more. your insecurity might not be immediately obvious to others, however, as you come across as very strong and bold. vulnerability is not your strong suit, and that's likely to be your downfall. if only you had just let people in, and asked for help... well, maybe this was always gonna be a tragedy.

THE KILLER

was there ever a choice? maybe, but that fork in the road is far, far behind you. you surround yourself now with sharp things, tools to harm, and they have become your only family. you are the thing that goes bump in the night, and you hunt for scurrying mice like a hungry cat. maybe, just maybe, though, one can finally put an end to your hunt, and allow you to finally rest.

THE ANCIENT EVIL 

they have wronged you. perhaps, once, you were something powerful– something to be looked at with adoration and worship and fear. but time does not yield to you, and when you lay to sleep, you awake to find yourself forgotten. your rage is insatiable. no matter what, you will make sure they do not forget this time.

THE GHOST 

death is not the end for everyone. it certainly was not the end for you. something within you tethers you here, like a heavy chain, and keeps you from well-deserved rest. love, rage, hunger, fear– do you even remember what it was? you wander here, awake, and your body lies below, asleep. maybe someone will find your disturbed grave and grant you a proper ending.

I've hoarded your name in my mouth for months, days gone, roughly 600 words.

The two of you do leave eventually, and the lack of a third feels like a sort of defeat, but that line of thought’s between you and her photo, pulled out of your wallet and tucked carefully away into your vest. You like to think that you’ll get used to that, anyways, right next to, well. Managing to get out of town with Boozer was nothing short of a fuckin miracle, you’re not dismissing it, it’s just that. Were you too selfish, back at that heli? Too naive? Your last thought before shaking the topic away entirely is that maybe you weren’t selfish enough.

Your missing ring glowers at you. Your missing ring burns, somehow.

How dare you think you could save both of them.

You recall the rooftop, Sarah’s injury too severe to make getting her out and to medical care anything less than urgent, and a part of you may later mock NERO for bugging out in a world gone to shit, but there’s a MISSING (-not dead, not dead. Not dead. … right?) sign and it’s plastered all over you and you can’t scratch it off because then she’d really have to be dead, and you, in the thousands of faces, thousands of brothers and sons and sisters, daughters, parents, have no proof of anything.

a) you didn’t have any other options.

b) Sarah and Boozer, both on the helicopter and you on the rooftop, alone, in a burning city

b.1) you lose both of them that night, or the next. See point b.2

b.2) you don’t make it out of town. You don’t live to know the difference

c) you and sarah fly away and leave Boozer on the rooftop

c.1) it was hell alone getting to the roof, but getting out of town was near impossible even with him. you doubted the possibility of the two of you making it, and as you survive gunfight and fire, youre all the more certain that neither of you would’ve, on your own.

c.2) it’s easy for your brother to talk about riding away from town as though he hadn’t been limping for hours, so he soon talks instead about how you would’ve died as well

c.2.1) he’s been there to save your hide more times than you can count, not that you would. he’s your brother, after all.

c.2.2) along that note, how could you look at your life, which you could-but-do-not owe your brother, and reject it? how do you look him in the face, after years on the run from creatures and cultists and gangs, after you both have survived long enough that it’s stood the end of, hell, everything else; how could you ever admit to him just how keenly you wish you’d died with her?

d) you didn’t have any other choices.

d.1) you fucking coward. stop thinking about what you could have done. think about what you did.

THE WEREWOLF

there's something inside a werewolf that's sharp, thorns and barbs coiling up in tight knots of vine even on their best days. halfway through a conversation, you'll forget your happiness and the pain comes back in a flash. you never meant to, but the sharpness has done harm on your behalf. it's defensive. it's leftover artillery from a battle you spent so long fighting that it still doesn't feel like it's truly over, does it? you want so badly to be soft. to take the hand that you are offered instead of baring your teeth. and it might be hard to believe, but you are soft. you're the softest one out there. it'll just take a while to untangle those vines enough to know that very little is often life-or-death, and not everything touches to hurt.

THE GHOST

it's an odd thing, to feel so far from grounded and yet trapped, tethered, unable to escape. there's more you have to do! so why can't you move? i'm sure you have an answer to that, at the very least in the back of your mind. people love to say that ghosts hold grudges or haunt for revenge but they always get it wrong; you're stuck because something or someone chained you down and left you there. you try and reach out to all those bright people who pass through your life, but it rarely feels like it does much more than knock a cup off the table, blow some papers into the air. i need you to trust me- they see it. they're listening. they'll keep looking for you and, eventually, they'll be able to see you too.

THAT WHICH CANNOT BE KNOWN

oh god. how did it come to this? to some extent, you've gone so far past your own idea of "human" that it must be kind of fun, right? maybe. i'm not sure. as an artefact of cosmic horror, you're wild and wacky and colourful and people are probably drawn to that, but you will never let them know you. the mystery intrigues for a while, but it'll wear everyone down. it'll wear you down, too. who are you? do you remember? are you so far gone that you can't go back? and maybe that's the most tragic thing of all- becoming so distorted in your identity, and for so long, that no matter how hard you want to return you can't ever seem to figure it out. but you've learned a vast amount up in the stars, and people will work hard to get to know you. it doesn't matter who you used to be. sometimes, you should just start from scratch: give yourself a name, a birthday. let someone celebrate these things with you.

THE VAMPIRE

it is the loneliest day of a vampire's life, the first time they look into a mirror and see their reflection missing. drinking blood sucks too, don't get me wrong, but as a vampire you had to learn to hide from the sunlight, from your family, all your friends, because you were unavoidably different now and you didn't know how to explain that to them in a way they would understand. you could get stranger's blood in bursts, but what is life when you can't know someone for longer than the night lasts? you left everything behind because it was easier than trying to tell them. i just hope you know you're not the only vampire out there, and that there exist people who will understand your situation without a word. they'll sit with you in the dark for as long as you'll need them to.

THE WITCH

people need to find blame wherever they can; it makes the bad things in their life feel just a touch more bearable. the witches are so often blamed for the curses others are under that no one even questions it anymore. you point to a supposed witch and everyone else prepares the stake, no matter their innocence. to be born and believed a witch is one of the worst curses of them all- you can have friends and family, but there's always a dread that someday, someone will point to you, and everyone you once trusted will throw you into the pyre. if you're here, reading this, you've probably been burned before. and i don't blame you for wanting to hide away, to really become the witch they all say you are, to curse them. but to be a witch is to brush your fingertips over the bark of a tree and watch it grow a touch stronger. keep that in mind.

THE MUMMY

here's the thing about mummies- why the hell is anyone opening up their tombs? you were resting. you were peaceful. but someone intruded, barged in and broke down your walls and stole all the parts of yourself that you cherished, and then blamed you for being angry. blamed you for chasing them down no matter how fast they ran and how many obstacles they put in your path. and you know what? they deserve your rage. they destroyed something sacred. they didn't give a shit, and they wouldn't ever have lamented their actions had it not been for you- the real hero- getting up and showing them that they don't have the right to destroy and pillage as they please. that is your home. that is your body. nothing they do can take that from you. if not for you, they probably would've kept breaking into tombs and disturbing restful lives without a second thought. you won't be repayed for your good, but i hope you know you are a saviour in your own right.

WHAT TYPE OF PROTAGONIST ARE YOU ?

MARIA : THE SPITEFUL WONDER                   ooooh, you're underestimated   ...   and pissed about it. are you a middle child   ?   hm. these are protagonists who get told to do one thing and do exactly the opposite. life is on your terms, not anyone else's. your failures and successes are on the same level of consequence, but you do feel as if something about the world is inherently unfair                   and you're just reckless enough to think you can change that.
