Years and years ago, as an art project, I started urban-combing, like beach-combing but on the streets around our neighbourhood. I’d then create pictures, shadow boxes and arrangements of my finds. It was quite a residential area with two schools so you always found lots of interesting lost objects and all sorts of colourful litter. We live in the countryside now. Today I had a flash back, when on our busy road with only one other house and no pavement, I found next to each other near the kerb - a tiny plastic dog and some wash care instructions written in Spanish. Never heard of this. Krav Maga and Wing Chun are the only ways of effective fighting that I believe in. Proper training you get with Lee Morrison at urbancombatives, he has it all from rape defence to handling robbery or knives, guns, gangs, ambushing, bullies, bus attacks, domestic violence. I sometimes watch Master Wong’s self defence classes here (even the ones in Cantonese I don’t care) cause they’re entertaining and he always suffers 😂 #StraightToTheNut 

The bnw video on the blog was all about “elegant” wrestling positions, that’s not what happens on the street. Also you don’t train with heels alright. Remember: kicking the nuts is key.

Happy Friday! We just had a morning woodland walk in the glorious sunshine and I found this vintage (1950’s) Miller bright red rear cycle dynamo reflector poking out of the yellow daffodils in the spinney. It says Made In England on it (when we used to make things like this) Cycle Miller and BS 2156 with the old British Standards kite mark. Saving it for some assemblage art piece in the future.
