This video was shared by a member of my group. It shows a group of people turning the everyday objects and ruins of a city into a printing press for t-shirts and tote bags. We all agree this would be an interesting way to capture the heritage of our space. This is because we would showcase elements of the area that may not have been noticed before. This is definitely something to explore on our next dérive.

Instead of printing onto fabric we would most likely use paper or card which we would scan and incorporate into the pages of our zines. This is the best way to do this because it would be easier to carry around on our walk. In addition, our end goal is to create a printed publication so it feels best to stick to the same medium. However, we could explore printing onto fabrics if we have enough time.

Overall, watching this video was very beneficial because it showed different ways to document an area in a way that’s visually interesting for our audience.  In addition, it portrayed that everyday features can be turned into art.

On a sunny weekend a few years ago, I joined a large group of graffiti artists for my first-ever Paint Jam. It felt electric to be there and I had butterflies in my stomach, which was pretty fitting considering that was what I would be spraying. This was my first ever paint Jam and the sun was out, giving it a festival vibe. There were around 18 other graffiti artists, all united - ready to spray at one of London’s graffiti hotspots. My final piece looked so delicate next to the other huge pieces but I didn’t care.
