I just finished watching critical role campaign 2 episode 140 and bOY HOWDY

Let me just say, that I was not prepared for the amount of emotional edging I was subjected to.

I was ready to cry from grief then a moment of hope came and I was almost ready to cry from joy! By the end of it all I was just laying in my bed, waiting for my tears to come from either emotion, mostly just wanting relief for my tears ducts!

What's adventure lite about?

Adventure Lite is about experiencing adventure at minimal cost to the environment and to yourself. In other words 'adventures needn't cost the Earth'.

The principles of adventure lite are:

Go beyond 'leave no trace' and actively 'leave wild places better than you find them' e.g. picking up the trash / litter left by other people.

Minimise your impact on the environment e.g. avoid cutting wood /unnecessary campfires.

Don't spend more than you need to on gear / travel e.g. make your own gear, adventure closer to home.

Reduce the weight of your backpack.

Take time to adventure whenever you can e.g. microadventures / 5-9 adventures.

Wind Dancer . Walking along a bluff in Cole Park on Corpus Christi Bay I came upon this beautiful, graceful sculpture. . I can see why they placed a wind-inspired piece here; there is such a strong, steady breeze coming across the bay. There is even a Windsport Launch in the park, the wind is so steady. . As I walked the edge of the bluff, some twenty-five feet above the stone beach, glints of bright colors kept catching my eye. I knew right away it was trash, mostly single-use plastic. It was mingled and mixed with stone as far as I could see in each direction. . I climbed down and looked closer. There were glass and aluminum bits too. Having lived within walking distance of coastal bays and ocean shorelines most of my adult life, I know that glass eventually rounds and smooths and can even become pretty. I know that plastic and aluminum do not. . Most plastic is petroleum based, as far as I know. Came from the earth originally. . It’s pretty fucked up that we are returning it to the earth this way. . You can see more, including an impromptu interview with Betty, a city worker tasked with daily cleanup of larger pieces of trash, in my Stories, or Trash moments. . As I wrote to several who responded to my story, I’d like to find out more about the currents and wind patterns here to see if this is coming all the way across the Gulf or is more local to Texas and Louisiana, and if it’s hurricane driven from landfills in part, of just what makes up the biggest portions of this kind of pollution. . This bay is protected by the barrier of Mustang and Padre Islands, so I don’t know if currents from the greater Gulf are at play of it’s all more local. .
