6 Jan 2021 - Another video has emerged from 6 January 2021. This one is hard to watch. It's a clip of a female Trump supporter getting beaten by US Capitol Police.
She is hit approximately thirty-five times over the course of 4 minutes and 30 seconds, while appearing to be begging for mercy. She is hit with the baton while facing away. She is hit with the baton while facing forward. She is speared and poked with the baton about the face so as to inflict maximum pain. She collapses more than once and is stood up by the officers only to be maced and beaten again. At some point, White-shirt puts away his baton, not because he is showing mercy because he has a clear avenue to her face. As such, he unloads on the defenseless woman punching her five times in five seconds, directly in the face.

Manuel Oliver, the father of a 17-year-old Parkland shooting victim, was arrested Thursday on Capitol Hill after he appeared to shout at a Republican lawmaker who was speaking during a hearing on gun regulations.
Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost, D-Fla., a 26-year-old freshman who is also a survivor of gun violence, tweeted a video of officers detaining a man he identified as Oliver.
Tumblr media
Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas, afterward that said some people “were disruptive during the hearing.”
“We asked Capitol Police to remove them. They were then removed and then one decided to come back in while we were still gaveled in and disrupted the hearing,” he continued. “That’s when we had a recess. Capitol Police were overwhelmed outside in the hallway and now we’re back in session.”
U.S. Capitol Police said in a statement: “Around noon, a man was arrested for D.C. Code §22-1307 (crowding, obstructing, or incommoding) after he disrupted a hearing.”
In the video tweeted by Frost, a woman could be heard yelling: “Let my husband go!” A Democratic aide with knowledge of the situation said Oliver and his wife, Patricia Oliver, attended the hearing.
The hearing, held by the House Judiciary Committee, titled “ATF’s Assault on the Second Amendment: When is Enough Enough?” elicited a spirited debate over gun deaths and firearm regulations.
Fallon was asking panelists a series of questions aimed at arguing that guns are “merely a tool” and shouldn’t be banned, any more than cars or alcohol should be banned when they’re misused and cause deaths.
A man in the room could be heard yelling and interrupting him.
Fallon looked across the room and said: “Is this an insurrection? So will they be held to the same — I don’t want another Jan. 6, do we?”
Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., jumped in to say: “If they’re trying to overthrow the government they ought to be held to the same standard. But I think they’re trying to express their views.”
Fallon fired back to say Cicilline was “out of line.”
Fallon continued to speak, and was interrupted again. “Does the Capitol Police not do their jobs?” a frustrated Fallon said. “What the hell’s going on?” He then recessed the hearing, before the arrest appeared to take place, and continued it afterward.
Later, Frost tweeted: “Manuel and Patricia Oliver were just kicked out of this committee hearing on gun violence. Patricia said one thing and the chair escalated the entire situation. Then, Police arrested Manuel Oliver who lost his son in the Parkland shooting. His son was shot to death.”

Relatives of the late US Capitol Police Ofc. Brian Sicknick who was murdered by pro-Trump terrorists during Trump’s January 6th coup attempt refused to shake hands with Mitch McConnell or Kevin McCarthy at a ceremony where he was posthumously awarded a medal.
Fallen officer's family snubs McConnell and McCarthy at Jan. 6 gold medal ceremony Officers who responded to the Capitol attack pointedly refused to shake hands with the two GOP leaders as they received top honors from Congress Tuesday.
Police officers who responded to the Jan. 6 Capitol attack and some of their family members pointedly declined to shake the hands of Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy as they accepted Congressional Gold Medals on Tuesday.
Officers and the family of fallen officer Brian Sicknick shook hands with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer as they accepted the medals, but quickly moved past the House and Senate Republican leaders — despite McConnell outstretching his hand. All senior congressional leaders were participating in the event to honor U.S. Capitol Police officers, Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police and others who responded during the riot.
[ ... ]
Police officers have criticized McCarthy’s response following the attack, including former D.C. officer Michael Fanone, who suffered a traumatic brain injury and a heart attack in the riot and secretly recorded a meeting with the House Republican leader. Some House Republicans have downplayed the seriousness of the attack, and McCarthy has personally minimized former President Donald Trump’s role in stoking the mob.
At first Kevin McCarthy criticized Trump’s inaction and attitude during the assault on the Capitol. But when he realized that offending the GOP God-Emperor was a big political no-no, he flew down to Mar-a-Lago to grovel for forgiveness.

To say that Kevin McCarthy has a spine made out of Jell-O would be an insult to the solidity of Jell-O.

Two dozen J6 protesters have filed a lawsuit against over 100 US Capitol Police members
alleging unprecedented violence, brutality, and physical abuse that took place on January 6, 2021. The protesters claim that they suffered sustained injuries and trauma as a result of the actions of these law enforcement officers. This lawsuit marks a significant development in the aftermath of the infamous Capitol riot, shedding light on the experiences of those who participated in the protest.
The allegations made by the J6 protesters are indeed serious and demand a thorough investigation. It is essential to ensure that all parties involved in the events of that day are held accountable for their actions. The lawsuit seeks to bring attention to the alleged misconduct of the US Capitol Police members and seeks justice for the injuries and trauma suffered by the protesters.
The events of January 6, 2021, were undeniably chaotic and deeply unsettling. The sight of the US Capitol being breached by protesters shocked the nation and had far-reaching consequences. However, it is important to approach this lawsuit with an open mind and allow for a fair examination of the evidence presented. It is only through a transparent and unbiased investigation that the truth can be revealed and justice can be served.
Regardless of one’s opinion on the J6 protest or the subsequent actions taken by law enforcement, it is crucial to remember that every individual has the right to due process and a fair trial. The lawsuit filed by these two dozen protesters is an attempt to exercise their rights and seek accountability for what they believe was unjust treatment. As this legal battle unfolds, it will undoubtedly spark debates and discussions about the events of that fateful day and the role of law enforcement in maintaining order during times of civil unrest.
My opinion was inspired from this source: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/04/breaking-two-dozen-j6-protesters-sue-100-us/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=breaking-two-dozen-j6-protesters-sue-100-

Did the FBI instigate the January 6th riots? Who is Ray Epps? What the hell is going on? Why can’t anyone get any answers? This is one of the reasons why I love Jimmy Dore and his show. He is a truth-seeking, nonpartisan leftist. He likes taking on the powerful and the dishonest, like the FBI. The American people need to come together to challenge our corrupt, inept, bloated, irresponsible government.

Anyway, it is extremely telling that the people who are used to assuming that law enforcement exists to punish other people, that those people "deserve it," and that likewise all law enforcement will privilege, protect, and handle them with kid gloves, got even the barest taste of it on the other end of things and immediately started screaming bloody murder.

A man with numerous firearms and materials to make an explosive was arrested Thursday in former President Barack Obama’s Washington, DC, neighborhood after claiming on an internet livestream that he had a detonator, law enforcement officials told CNN.
Taylor Taranto, who had an open warrant for his arrest related to the January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack, was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department and federal law enforcement. He has been charged with being a fugitive from justice.
“Arresting officers requested MPD’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team to perform a vehicle sweep of the individual’s van near the location of the arrest,” the MPD said in a statement to CNN. “There is no active threat to the community and this incident remains under investigation.”
According to law enforcement officials, firearms and materials to make Molotov cocktails were found in Taranto’s car. There is currently no indication of a direct threat to the Obamas, law enforcement officials told CNN.
A spokesperson for the Obamas declined to comment.
The United States Capitol Police “assisted in the investigation due to a concern for public safety and the potential for violence against Members of Congress,” said Jason Bell, acting assistant chief for protective and intelligence operations, said in a statement. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces is continuing the investigation into Taranto’s actions.
Taranto has no fixed address, according to MPD.
Taranto is also a defendant in a civil suit filed by the estate of former MPD officer Jeffrey Smith, who died by suicide in the days following the January 6 attack. In court filings related to the ongoing suit, Taranto admitted to being inside the Capitol during the attack, but denied any wrongdoing.
The lawsuit alleges that Taranto aided in the attack of Smith during the Capitol riot by handing a cane or crowbar to another rioter, who allegedly used the weapon to attack Smith. Taranto’s actions contributed to Smith’s death, the lawsuit alleges.
The allegations, Taranto wrote, are “made up.”
Taranto, in court documents, said he went inside the Capitol that day but claimed he was acting as a “press agent” who covers left-wing protesters.
Taranto wrote he was “allowed into the Capitol without resistance” by Capitol police and claimed “the doors to the Capitol were open.”
He also claimed in court filings that he was assaulted by police inside the Capitol.

Former U.S. Capitol Police officer, Michael A. Riley, 51, was convicted Friday of obstruction of justice for deleting Facebook messages he exchanged with a man who participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection. Obstruction of justice carries a possible sentence of up to 20 years behind bars.
The day after the riot, Riley sent the person a Facebook message, identifying himself as a “capitol police officer who agrees with your political stance.”
… Riley, who responded to a report of a pipe bomb on Jan. 6.
Rumors are that Marjorie Taylor Greene is, allegedly, the one who planted the pipe bombs. I wonder if she knows this ex-cop? Or, he found one of the pipe bombs -- did he plant it? I don't know which pipe bomb he found, the one at the Republican place or at the DNC place.
Well, I don't think Michael A. Riley will get 20 years. But since he's a cop, it just might turn out to be "life."

Sgt. Aquilino Gonell of the US Capitol Police was nearly beaten to death by pro-Trump terrorists on 06 January 2021.
With the January 6th hearings underway, Sgt. Gonell would like to remind Americans that the assault on the Capitol was not a visit by “tourists” as some Republicans ludicrously claim.

On the eve of planned nationwide demonstrations, I want to offer an overview of the ways the protests in France are being handled by the government so far (and if what you’ve heard is that this is over a 2 year increase in retirement age, please do take a minute to read this post to get a better idea of the context)
1. In Paris on March 21, a CRS (cop) threw a tear gas grenade in the air towards protesters (they’re supposed to throw them near the ground); the grenade landed and exploded on a protester’s head. (x)
2. Massive use of tear gas at every protest, on this vid from March 17 you can see the Place de la Concorde (largest public square in Paris) drowned in tear gas. (x)
Tumblr media
3. In Paris on March 20, video of a CRS with a baton hitting protesters who are cowering against a wall (x)
Tumblr media
4. CRS grabbing demonstrators in (illegal) chokeholds and dragging them by the neck (x)
Tumblr media
5. In Strasbourg on March 21, police trapped about a hundred protesters in a narrow alleyway and tear gassed them from both ends of the alley so they couldn’t escape; an asthmatic person lost consciousness; people who lived there opened their doors and let the protesters enter their houses to get to safety. (x)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. In Paris on March 20, a CRS shot a protester with an LBD riot gun (rubber bullets) and shouted at him “Pick up your balls now, fucker” (x) (an allusion to the several instances in recent years of protesters having testicle injuries from LBD guns - and non-protesters too, in 2015 a Muslim teenage boy lost a testicle after being shot by a cop with rubber bullets when he was shooting firecrackers in a park on July 14th / Bastille day). A few seconds later in the video another CRS tells the one who said that “careful there’s a camera”
Tumblr media
7. In Paris on March 21, a group of 4 or 5 CRS who were dispersing demonstrators, threw a homeless man to the ground who had been shouting at them (hard to hear what he said, the first sentence is “How can you do this job?”), kicking him in the head while he was down and mocking him when he couldn’t get up, calling him a ‘fatso’ and ‘sack of shit’ (the woman you can hear at the end of the video is yelling at the CRS to help the guy get up and telling them “do you lack humanity to this point?”) (x)
8. That same day Macron gave a speech on TV in which he said “the crowd [= the protesters] has no legitimacy against the people, who express themselves through their elected representatives” even though he passed his reform without a vote from the elected representatives—and considering polls show the vast majority (>70%) of the country is against the reform, the “people” and the “crowd” are one and the same. Today (March 22) he gave another TV speech in which he compared what’s happening in France right now to the January 6 US capitol attack.
9. During today’s speech Macron also said “minimum-wage workers have never seen such an increase in purchasing power” which is a mad thing to say in the middle of a cost of living crisis, and he used the term ‘smicard’ in this sentence— the minimum wage in France is called the SMIC and smicard is a derogatory word for minimum-wage workers. He decried the “extreme, unregulated violence” of protesters but had nothing to say about the unregulated violence of his police forces, and instead stoked the fire with contemptuous language that angers people the day before a planned mass protest.
10. Hundreds of protesters (and even people who weren’t protesting but just nearby) have been arrested and taken into custody in “preventative arrests”; the vast majority were then released due to “absence of an offence.” Here’s a thread by a woman who was arrested in Paris along with 11 other women (one was a 17 year-old girl) for taking part in a peaceful protest. They spent 20 hours all in one cell, were only allowed to go to the toilet if they left the door open, were frisked and had their fingerprints and DNA samples taken. Also, in Nantes on March 14, four young women age 18-20 reported having been sexually assaulted by police during body searches while participating in a student protest.
And a thread by a 19-year-old Black student who spent 48 hours in custody last week along with 4 other people who were arrested in Paris as they were walking down the street. Lots of racist shit in this thread. He had already spent 14 hours in custody after a protest a couple of days before, and ended up being charged for refusing to have his DNA samples taken.
This article in Le Monde from yesterday (it’s in French and unfortunately paywalled) talks about people who took part in last week’s protests having been handcuffed and searched in their underwear then released free of charges the next day; a lawyer comments how this is clearly meant to discourage people from demonstrating. The article also mentions two 15 year old Austrian boys who were on a class trip to Paris and were rounded up with a group of demonstrators, so the Austrian embassy had to intervene. (Journalist mentions sarcastically “We don’t know if these high schoolers’ DNA samples were taken.”)
11. There are videos from various protests of journalists wearing the press armband being threatened, hit, or shoved to the ground by police. In Montpellier yesterday, a journalist took this photo as a CRS was pointing his rubber bullet gun at his head and another was running at him with his baton telling him “I don’t give a fuck about your press card” —the photographer managed to run away. (x)
Tumblr media
This is all from the past ten days (and mostly from the past two days) and far from an exhaustive list, there's so much outrageous stuff happening (like the Minister of the Interior lying and saying participating in an undeclared demonstration is illegal, when it’s not) but it gives a good idea of what French democracy looks like under Macron. The above photo says it all really. And thank you to all the people who continue taking part in the protests and strikes.
