I've decided to watch MacGyver from the beginning (again), and I'm live tweeting the experience with every tweet tagged with #savemacgyver. I thought it would be fun to share my collected thoughts from the episodes on here as well.

My Thoughts on S1E1, "The Rising"

"How do I look?" Always amazing, Mac, though here you are so bebby. Gosh, tiny Lucas is tiny.

Ugggh, Nikki. My least favorite story arc in the show. Even with her redemption arc, even her face makes me mad.

I am soooo glad this awkward flirting is only in this episode. Mac and Nikki have never vibed with me.

JACK DALTON

"Who loves ya, baby?" We all do, Jack.

I always wished they would have played more into the original Mac's reason for not carrying a weapon - not just so he doesn't get caught but because he doesn't like them. That was actually one reason I used to be so upset at the reboot when it first came out. I still feel like Mac's character was off for this first episode - a little too cocky, not super developed. But still lovable, and with so much potential!

It's so cool to see how much Lucas has grown into this character over the years, really making it his own while still holding on to its essence.

Lol "serious bad-assery" - Nikki thinks she's so cool. (Spoiler: she's not.)

Lololol Nikki is the Walmart brand of Riley.

Man, I'm already so ready for Matty. Patti is the off brand version of her.

"Is this George Clooney's house?" I miss Jack so freaking much.

Mac kind of looks like a penguin with that waiter outfit on and I'm living for it.

The second Mac hack is so Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew.

"Why don't you ever flirt with me like that?" Um, Jack, do you want your partner's girlfriend flirting with you, daddy fixation or not?

There are two kinds of oops, accordng to Jack Dalton: Oops - I just stubbed my toe / Ooooooops - Zombie apocalypse initiated.

Mac's hair is so shaggy.

"START THE DAMN BOAT!" Classic.

"Hold this and get out of my way." Dang, Mac.

The bad guy is the dude from Galavant hahaha. I know this guy has been in so many things, but he will always be Gareth to me. (That's his name, right? Gareth?)

I actually love the consistency of Mac always having that scar even seasons into the series (except for the last time, in the river). Overall great attention to detail!

That is a LOT of blood in the water.

Excuse me, Patricia, but I would consider running over your neighbor's dog (or any dog) a damn catastrophe, too.

"Sometimes a purge is necessary to fix what's broken." Codex, anyone?

Love this whole chase/fight sequence so much. The music, action, everything... perfect.

The sweat on Mac's forehead when dangling out of the 🚁 - such a great detail!

"YOU GO KABOOM, I GO KABOOM"

Kind of weird to me that Mac seems to be using so much guesswork with this bomb, especially when we know that he's one of the best specialists out there.

That fight scene in the back of the vehicle is one of my all time favorites. The whump is excellent.

Okay, but when does MacGyver ever do anything the way Jack has in mind?

DIY or die. Still so lame, lol. The parachute is awesome, though.

Oof. That landing looks painful and the whumper in me loves it. Even more, I can't get over how worried Jack is as he rushes to Mac's side. ❤️❤️❤️

That break in his voice when he asks if Mac's okay is just... AYSKTUFYIFUYliIIGUOG

Mac burning Nikki's pics like that old Taylor Swift song.

Bozer calling Jack his bestie is so weird and funny to me.

I am so ready for Bozer to get over Riley. They are so much better as friends.

Lol "Those fries won't cook themselves." The crack of a whip, man.

Jack calling Riley a little rascal and then gently asking Mac if he's doing all right there, pal ... taking care of his kids, and I am DYING.

The Three Amigos... come on, Jack. You can do better than that.

Is it bad that I'm actually a little surprised that Jack knows what a Phoenix is? Just seems like something he wouldn't care to learn, especially since he's a sci fi junkie but I never really hear him talk about fantasy.

Oooooooo Nikki's on the loose. Gotta end with suspense, to hook those viewers and make them want more. Well, I want more of this show, but not because of her.

Well, awesome re-watch of episode 1. Definitely not my favorite by a long shot, but so iconic and with some amazing moments! It just makes me that much more excited to get to see the show and the characters grow!

Y'ALL GO WATCH TRISTIN AND LUCAS'S IG STORIES

If you don't know what's happening on Twitter... Imma update you a bit.

We've been fighting like hell there. It's like fighting a freaking virtual war.

It's been a rollercoaster of emotions and emotions take a toll on a person. Specially if you're trying to tweet a hashtag as much as you can during the day.

Reminder that we aren't a big fandom, even if A LOT of fans made themselves Twitter accounts to help with the fan campaign.

But just when things get better: the hashtag starts trending (because there are fans tweeting literlly 24/7 since last Wednesday), the media acknowledges us (thanks to fans that spent all weekend contacting everyone), action is taking place (thanks to the fans that immediately after the announcement got the idea to start a petition and send paperclips), the cast and crew send their love via likes and sneaky RTs or IG stories, the writers take down the "goodbye" tweet...

Just when things get better, on Tuesday the promo pics for the finale get released and they shook us to the core because suddenly another week has gone by and we're closer to the finale and the cancelation is suddenly VERY REAL (although MacGyverCBS has yet to make an official announcement).

Just when we recover energies today (Wednesday) after resting and taking care of our mental health (it's difficult to keep a good mental health in a big group because one person's emotion can sway everyone's emotions for better or for worse) then we see that the set they rented to film said goodbye to MacGyver after 5 years but now the building was free.

And behind the scenes we're trying to organize rallies, watch parties, be all over the internet, recruit other fandoms, recruit our own fandom, search for prices for advertisments, billboards, baners, see what other shows have done to save theirs, send emails EVERYWHERE, TWEETING AMIDST ALL THIS, call offices to confirm internet information, produce compelling edits, produce content in general, talk to each other, be each other's strenght, trying to come up with new ideas while your coffee is running low at late hours of the night...

All of that is happening and it's a hard battle but then again we are not alone because when we were overwhelmed by the media attention and suddenly having success which a bunch of people quickly wanted to rebuke ("what you're doing is pointless") Meredith posted a picture of herself with a lot of paperclips.

After all the promos yesterday she also posted right before bedtime a comforting RT to a fan that comforted us all.

After all the emotions today, Lucas and Tristin team to share those stories.

And we know if they could they would be supporting the campaign very publicly but we have to understand, WE DO UNDERSTAND that they are doing AS MUCH AS THEY CAN.

Like, these litttle posts are literally as much as they can do and it honestly, it's enough for me.

Not only them but Monica and the rest of the crew are on this too.

That Monica hasn't said a single word this whole week about the campaign (nothing more than a bunch of likes) it's because they're working on saving MacGyver in their end too.

Well... I needed to vent. As you can see.

The conclusion is... er...

We're all in this together?

The conclusion is, it's going to be a long fight so let's not give up. EVEN WHEN WE'RE FEELING DEFEATED, LET'S NOT GIVE UP.

Networks can look like big monsters that cannot be taken down from their pedestal BUT IT'S BEEN PROVEN WRONG SEVERAL TIMES.

The answer is in our determination.

If you're feeling sad, anxious, upset or optmistic, relaxed, motivated... You are allowed to FEEL AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. That's good, that's what makes us human. FEEL and be grateful that you can feel!

And then, after you've allowed yourself to feel, remember to not give up.

here’s my problem with saving macgyver..

- personal opinion so watch out - 

i don’t know if you’ve noticed but i’ve been quite quiet and not as enthusiastic as others to #SaveMacGyver. and that’s not all ‘cause of my finals (no, not school, vocational college).

truth is, i loved that show. i really did. i created multiple edits, spent hours on looking for updates and posting them on social media and i also welcomed + introduced some people to the show. 

but then season 4 + 5 happened and you could tell that i was losing interest. no more weekly episode videos (especially during season 5, i did 2 or something), i dropped out of being an update account and i found better things to concentrate on (hello josh, it’s your fault, thank you very much). and why?

season 4 was okay, 5 was absolute shit. super boring, i spent most of the time on my phone instead of looking to the tv. all they did was nothing but talk during the entire episode. maybe 2-5 minutes of action (minus the murdoc episode, david is a genius). i thought macgyver was an action tv show, was it? guess that’s just how it’s spelled on paper. that just doesn’t work. and what’s worse is that it can work to have episodes where most of the time is spent investigating a case or whatever. i see it on magnum p.i.. they also have some (!) episodes where they do that but it works. it’s not boring. there’s not a single second where i can watch away. why doesn’t it work on macgyver?

and don’t get me started on the romantic bullshit. that destroyed the entire show. why’s that in focus? if you wanna watch soap operas go look for them but don’t look for an action tv show. that’s not the concept. people watch those shows because they wanna see something interesting, maybe get an adrenaline rush and feel excited. it can work both ways but don’t fcking put a romantic storyline to the center of attention. i guess that’s also a reason why many people left. i mean they didn’t even have 5 million viewers on the possible last episode ever. kinda low. you’d expect more to tune in for one last (?) time. and i’ve heard that some people had low expectations for that episode as well, they knew it wasn’t going to be it. and no, not just the fault of the entire cancelation, the story could’ve been played out so well but it was b o r i n g. talk - look for places to get information from - talk - complications with one character (hello stereotypes) - talk, talk, talk... those are the main reasons that destroyed the show for me. and it’s not like i’ve done and aren’t doing nothing. i made some videos to inform people on what #SaveMacGyver is, what kind of projects are going on and some to encourage people to come together and save it. and i use the hashtag but i won’t do more. and i will certainly not spam CBS’ stories when there’s something about magnum p.i., so don’t ask me about that again or complain why i didn’t participate there. i find it kinda rude actually. other shows are not at fault and it’s not right to get them into this mess.  it’s sad how it has come to an end. it really is. before, i had never watched a show that caught me the way macgyver did. i have one now. sadly, it took me 2 years to realize because i was too excited for new macgyver episodes to see the full beauty behind that show. i’m glad i found it now.

For those that have been a fan of the show MacGyver, we know it's a long shot but fans all over the world are banding together to try and Save MacGyver. Tweeting with that hashtag, sending 1000's upon 1000's of paper clips to CBS Studios after news of the cancellation of MacGyver.

Other shows have returned via fan support for at least a season to close out story lines, gone to different platforms and lived for more than one more season. MacGyver is the latest and hopefully other can help out.

There's petitions, the hashtag, if you financially want to help, drown CBS in paper clips. Jericho came back after fans sent somewhere around 19,000 lbs of peanuts to CBS studios. Last check I knew of 150,000 paper clips being sent to CBS studios and it could be more.

Here is the petition. Please share. A twitter watch party is happening today, April 11th, starting at 3pm Eastern US time starting with Episode 1x02 however you can watch (DVD, streaming on Paramount+, where ever you can).

My Thoughts on S1E2, "Metal Saw"

Seriously love the music in this show!

THE FREAKING BELT GRAB. You can tell they've done this kind of thing before.

I always love it when Jack and Mac have heart-to-hearts in the middle of super intense, dangerous situations. Like... it's sweet, but time and place, guys?

"Hi, I'm Jack." Nervous Jack is bebby.

Ew, sweat. Like, I know it's "realism" to have sweat stains on clothes in situations like these, but that's one bit of realism I can always do without. Gross.

Is that a bit of PTSD I'm seeing with Mac there on the couch? That's a kind of realism I can always get behind.

Riley finding Mac and Boze in that compromising position will never not be funny. "But he was on top." I love Riley more every episode.

Riley is a really good liar from day one.

I love the joke about ex-cons benefiting from being in relationships with stable people (i.e., fake boyfriend Bozer), then the immediate cut to Bozer with his whole arm inside the vending machine. Great stuff.

Love the Riley and Bozer bonding... right up until the cringe-tastic "Slide me your digits."

"Soon, I'm gonna woo you the same way Romeo would have wooed Juliet if they had Snapchat back in the Renaissance." Bozer and his surprisingly accurate pickup lines. The Renaissance did in fact start in Italy around the 14th century, when R&J is thought to take place.

I love all this psychoanalyzing of Mac. "Adapting is his survival mechanism." Also I'm living for Jack sticking up for Mac to Patti.

"This place has been searched by everybody and their dog." Is this a Texas thing or an old guy saying? Either way it's great.

Nothing beats the early days of Mac and Jack. Nothing. I wish we had gotten more interactions where Jack has to parent Mac: "Stop touching that. Look at me." ❤️❤️❤️

Jack so concerned about Mac and putting on the kid gloves = everything I could have ever asked for and more.

Jack has such a big heart. Poor guy, the look on his face when he sees that the reporter is actually Sarah...

Paperclip sculptures: When I first started watching the show, I thought they were lame. Now I miss them so much. Does that mean I've gotten lamer or that they were always cool and I was always lame?

"Closest time I ever came to coming home in a box." Oof. This line hits different now, and not in a good way.

I just love how Jack is this big tough ex-Delta who is so open about his emotions, particularly with Mac. And the way Mac reassures him... Their bromance is top-tier.

"Oh, like when they invented fire!" Another zinger.

Mac grabbing that giant cigar right out of that dude's mouth 😂😂😂

Love some good fight-scene Mac whump! 👏👏👏 And bar fights are always a blast!

Riley with the car door - such a boss. "What? You told me to stay in the car, and I did."

I've seen some people say they don't like S1 Mac's hair. I kind of dig it, to be honest. He looks like he's 5, but I love it.

Mac has made a lot of DIY cutting torches in his time, but they never get less impressive.

Jack trusting Mac to save Sarah while he keeps watch is just *chef's kiss*!

These early episodes have so many MacGyverisms. One right after the other. It's awesome.

I've never been a big fan of the dark either, Mac.

The first scene with Mac and Sarah is so beautifully tense and whumpy (he way he scrabbles for purchase, gasps for breath, that hitch in his voice as he tries to squeak out Jack's name) that I had to rewind and watch it again.

The hopeful disbelief in her voice: "Jack Dalton came for me?"

Sarah can kick some serious ass. I can see why Jack likes her. Too bad she's about to lead him on the rest of the episode, while actually having a fiance...

Sarah: *leans out of car, shooting her weapon with deadly, terrifying precision* Riley: I agree, this woman should not have kids. 😂 Everything that comes out of Riley's mouth is gold.

Riley asleep in the back of the car while Mac sits quietly and Jack and Sarah have a sweet moment is like mom and dad with the kids in the backseat. Except mom has a fiance and hasn't told dad yet, even though she's had ample opportunity.

Because seriously, Sarah. It's not that hard to tell him the truth. Giving him those big eyes and flirting with him, thinking he has a chance is just cruel. I have never liked her character, and this is why.

Mac and Jack giggling about Jack's crush on Sarah like middle-school girls is life.

"You're just gonna have to let that go." Man, I love their relationship.

Gosh, the scene where they find Luis always hurts so badly. These early episodes did not play around.

"There isn't always time to beg some suit back home for permission to do what's right." I'm not a fan of Sarah, but I love this line. Also, this is pretty much the synopsis of the whole show.

Riley's hair used to be so LONG! 😍

The loyalty of these three! And I love the OG trio so much.

This sleazy guy in the computer place makes my skin crawl.

Love how Patti's like, "Mac will be back by then." Not Jack, not Riley. Just Mac. Can we say teacher's pet? I actually lowkey love this though.

"Who is this guy?" Much like Doctor Who's "It's bigger on the inside," I never get tired of people being equally amazed and confused at the stuff Mac can do.

I've never been the biggest car chase junkie, but Barrios jumping over the car using that log in the road is pretty dope.

Sarah's rage is chilling. And Jack talking her down breaks me every time.

Again, I love the loyalty of our team. Everyone sticks up for each other, ending with Mac's totally unbelievable but still somehow 100% genuine "It was me. I forced them." TOO good.

First mention of Oversight this early. Just thinking about who it is that doesn't like unsanctioned ops just makes me 😤 I wonder if the writers knew who OS was at this point or if it was a later development.

I do wish we could have gotten more conspiratorial, approving Patti. She's so much better than expressionless, bland Patti.

The way Sarah never told Jack about her fiance Jeff (who is in fact a cinnamon roll but still a discount Jack) pisses me off. "I tried to tell you." Yeah, right. It's not that hard to say, "Yo, I'm in a relationship."

Jack NEVER should have found out about Jeff the way he did. There's no excuse.

It's not okay, Jack. She did you wrong. You didn't deserve that. Stand up for yourself, man. Gosh, he's so broken here, and I hate it.

"At least we have each other... Don't look at me. I know how weird it sounded." THESE TWO I SWEAR 🤣🤣🤣

Poor Mac. I do love how we get his obsessive tendencies so early in the show, and how they keep coming back, even as late as season 5. As someone with clinically diagnosed OCD, this makes me feel seen and I love being able to relate to my favorite character.

Love the found family antics at the end. Riley and Bozer making dinner while Mac and Jack play basketball? Perfection.

Lol, Bozer calling Riley a "caramel goddess" has such Schmidt/Cece vibes from New Girl, and I dig it!

Ew. More sweat. I know some people find sweaty men attractive, but that is NOT my vibe. I prefer my men clean and freshly laundered.

The way Riley glances back over her shoulder at them as she walks away, as if to make sure they're really there, that this is actually real!!!

"That's not even... that's true, actually. That's sad." Jack 🤣 Also, "I'm hungry." Big mood.

As a Grandpa Harry stan from the OG show, I eat up any mention of him in the new one. I just wish we'd gotten more of that wonderful man in the reboot. Still, I'll take what I can get!

I'd honestly forgotten how much I enjoy this episode! So solid, full of bromance, found family, and lots of good-natured bickering. Can't wait to watch the next one, hopefully tomorrow! In the meantime, please keep fighting for our show! Together we can #savemacgyver!
