Spoiler review of silent parade

or: thoughts about the movie in chronological order

- the movie started with an overview of Saori’s life. Then her image was burned up, coupled with Kaoru’s narration. That was spectacular ⁃ Kusanagi vomiting 😭😭😭😭 ⁃ The montage of the parade dancers dancing was actually the ensemble cast! I like how they edited that to form the title sequence ⁃ Yukaoru bicker. Quite a bit. As if they’re the only people in the room. I need a rewatch. ⁃ The 3 split personalities of Yukawa Manabu: 1. When interacting with the ensemble: Masaharu Fukuyama. He was so incredibly charming to everyone and they welcomed in him into this little community. One change the movie made was to show us directly how Yukawa had already integrated. Bonus is that it’s also shown clearly that this happened precisely one month after Kaoru asked him for help (and he rejected), which shows how much planning he did. My favourite part is how Natsumi interacts with him during the parade. She’s excited to share everything with him and even shakes him a little (normal excited young girl fare). And he’s not repulsed! Then Maya-san interacts with the crowd in her pirate updo, and swings her sword at them. The crowd pretends to die but not Yukawa, so Maya swings the sword at him a few more times. Top tier cuteness! 2. Flirty asshole with Kaoru. Yukawa’s crimes include: shoving Kaoru away to observe the crime scene, locking her out (of a forbidden area nonetheless but that was cute), eating shaved ice in the restaurant while Kaoru gets nothing? Best part is Kaoru banters back. You can see Ko-chan has two sets of expressions to take from: one set for detective Utsumi, and one set, more expressive, to deal with her asshole boyfriend (not yet canon let me be clear). I love it. 3. Normal weirdo galileo. No need explain. ⁃ The movie removed some tension between Yukawa and some of the ensemble by not confronting them about the nitrogen face to face, and leaving that to the police. I don’t know which is better. Both are ok? - I like how during Yukawa’s deductions, Utsumi is shown to be in the role of the victim testing out the hypothesis, then we cut to her commenting on the feasibility hypothesis. Informative and cute at the same time. ⁃ YUKAORU (ALMOST) HANDHOLDING ⁃ The last scene is a phone call from Kaoru to Yukawa to report on the ending of the case and the situation of the ensemble. It was filled with a lot of love. Kaoru tells him, “Kusanagi is glad that he has a best friend like you.” And Yukawa smiles. Damn I love this trio. Thank you Masha for coming up with this scene and persuading everyone to adopt your idea. This is better than following the ending of the book precisely. ⁃ The easter egg is a faded montage of Suspect X and Midsummer’s Equation, which ended with a scene where Yukawa waves to the screen taken from this movie. Lovely.

Summary:

In the distant past, the Guardian of the Milky Way galaxy named Lanancuras began to harbor a desire for more power. Because of his connection to the galaxy, he was able to absorb parts of planets and add them to his strength. As a result, he began invading the worlds he was assigned to protect. In the wake of his destruction, a following of creatures from across the galaxy pledged allegiance to Lanancuras and became known as the Kadrians. Taking notice of his ever-growing power and followers, the other Celestial Guardians confronted him; however, he had become too powerful, and they were defeated. Unable to subdue Lanancuras, the Celestial Guardians each gave up a part of their power and combined it into a single new Guardian, Mushra. In a final desperate attempt, they used Mushra's core by transforming it into a powerful card with which to seal Lanancuras in a prison. The prison was created from the remains of planets that had suffered under Lanancuras' tyranny. Because planets are themselves large beings, their combined strength (along with the power of the card) was able to restrain him. Thus Lanancuras was successfully sealed in a large meteorite.

The meteorite was sent off into the galaxy to be sealed forever. Meanwhile, the way Lanancuras had increased his strength had consequences on the planets of the Milky Way On Earth, around the 22nd century, it was in the shape of a virus that merged with human DNA and destroyed the humans that way. In order to eliminate the virus, scientists worked on combining human DNA with the DNA of animals and other creatures immune to the effects. They succeeded and created a sentient race known as Enterrans (a race of engineered Earthlings) which are based on humans, insects, reptiles, birds, sea creatures, wild beasts, and phantom beasts. Eventually, a cure was found and the human race survived.

However, due to Lanancuras' influence, the Enterrans fought their human creators as well as the robots that worked with the humans, driving the human race to a near extinction state. Luckily, a scientist named Dr. Daigo Tatsuro placed his 4-year-old daughter Yakumo in a sleep chamber in hopes that she would save the human race and find the human sanctuary Shinzo and bring peace back to Earth which was then renamed to Enterra. When the meteor that Lanancuras was imprisoned in struck Earth during the earlier parts of the Human-Enterran War, its fragment had struck an infant Yakumo giving her abilities that she would later discover.

GALILEO _ Temporada 1

Me ha gustado mucho más de lo pensé antes de iniciarlo y mientras más capitulos veía más me gustaba.

Próximamente veré los Sp y peliculas que tiene, después de terminar la 2da parte, claro! si esta tambien me gusta.

El cómo llegué a esta serie no es nada raro. Al gustarme las historias de detectives y eso, ya había escuchado bastante de Galileo, entonces ¡¿Que me detenía?! ¡¿Por que no lo vi antes?! Pues por las dos temporadas, los especiales, etc 😵 Prefiero las series autoconclusivas, con excepciones claro, así que no me decidí a verla en su momento. Sin embargo, después inicié Last Man (la que dejé por ahora porque no quiero verla en inglés) y me agradó la interpretación de Masaharu, a eso se unió al hecho que queria ver series de años pasados, cosa que no había hecho mucho desde el año pasado, así que decidí darle su oportunidad y ya!! Me encontré con una serie entretenida, con buena dinamica de personajes y casos bastante interesantes.

La interacción entre Yukawa y Utsumi es lo mejor de la serie. Me hubiera gustado que se profundizara un poco más, es que yo no tuve suficiente de este duo!

Las resoluciones de los casos fueron ingeniosas teniendo de base la FÍSICA. Hubo momentos en que se muestra lo comprometido que está yukawa con los casos en los que colabora con la policia, aunque se esfuerce en negarlo, encontrando explicacion a lo aparentemente no explicable.

La reticencia inicial a participar del caso en cada capítulo es algo que siempre me fue agradable ver, ahí se apreciaba la interacción entre los protagonistas brillantemente.

Mientras resuelven los casos y al finalizarlos, se dan conversaciones ingeniosas entre los protagonistas, que nos ayudan a conocer ambas personalidades, con debilidades y fortalezas.

Mi capítulo favorito o el caso mejor dicho es el último, tiene un buen ritmo y nos deja conocer más a Yukawa.

Contiene escenas emotivas pero contenidas(perfectas, en mi opinión) entre los protas que resaltan la importancia de su trabajo en equipo. La escena donde se saludan por navidad, después de lo que habían pasado me pareció conmovedora y la secuencia donde yukawa esta cortando los cables me resulto muy graciosa e irónica.

Ademas..... el capítulo del falso adivino, amigo de utsumi también estuvo bueno o en el que yukawa cree haber encontrado a un joven cientifico talentoso pero resultó en no ser tan inteligente como lo pensó además de tener métodos de investigación 😑 "problemáticos".

Hay varios elementos que aunaron a que le agarre cariño a la serie, como el asistente de yukawa, los alumnos del mismo, la forense, etc. Sin olvidar la forma en que se presentan los capitulos, con musica de fondo incluído💯

Lo que no me gustó:

La canción de salida que simplemente no es mi estilo😶.

Además creo que el ritmo no siempre es constante. Hay capítulos en los que es notoriamente mejor que otros y por último, creo que podría haberse conocido un poco más a los personajes, fuera de su respectiva profesión.

Con todo lo que me ha gustado también debo aceptar que no es que se vaya a convertir, así en general, en uno de mis doramas favoritos pero sí uno de los más recordables del género, entre los que he visto.

No me trae cosas super novedosas en la idea central pero las desarrolla correctamente con personajes entrañables.

Por ahora....

Ya vi el 1er cap de la 2da temporada y me ha gustado, aún cuando la nueva prota no me convence todavia, parece muy arrogante.

Es una pena que Shibasaki ko ya no esté en esa temporada que claro salió como 6 años después de la primera 🥺 y pues no sé si éste otro duo me guste tanto🤷

Plot context makes it iffy to translate what Yukawa is saying here, but it’s something like ‘I had Utsumi-kun confirm something’. Mostly I was caught by the way Utsumi looks up (and up) when he says her name, just to match gaze, and he doesn’t even look at her until he steps away.

1. FM: Yukaoru's relationship is like they're in love, but also like they're not in love. What a pity we don't have a definite answer. Well, I write KOH+ songs imagining Kaoru's in love with Yukawa, for example, KISS and Magic of Love. I write them in Kaoru's pov, imaging her in love with Yukawa, and what she would do. While the series doesn't focus on this will-they-won't-they relationship, I write songs based on Kaoru in love and I keep on hinting about it. Haven't you felt anything while singing? SK: No FM: … FM: Alright, that's still great. SK: I thought it was about Yukawa. FM: No, it's only Kaoru.

When I was filming with Ko-chan again after so long, I realised that you haven't changed at all! I was surprised by how beautiful you are. You're just like old times, your skin is still so good, your hair as well, so shiny and fine. (Ko: stop saying this kind of stuff!) You're so pretty I can't walk properly seeing you. I hope that you can continue living healthily and energetically, all the way to your 50s.

(Masha checks his notes) The first time I worked with Shibasaki-san... (Ko: what what please don't say anymore weird stuff) was in October 2007, for Galileo. And thereafter there were more works in the Galileo series. Then in 2017, KOH+ reunited in the Kanpai Japan Live in Tokyo Dome. That was our first live, wasn't it? It's very touching. It was such a great performance. And now we're filming Silent Parade for next year. I have a lot more to say to you and to ask you.

It's been 14 years since the last time we did Suspect X until now, but I totally don't feel that so much time has passed. (Ko: not at all) I think that wherever Utsumi Kaoru is, Yukawa will be, because Yukawa is led forward by Kaoru. So this time, please continue to lead me forward. Thank you for taking care of Yukawa.

Now I should tell the fans things that they want to know about Ko-chan. (Ko: how is there so much for him to say?) I think that everyone knows... but when we were filming Silent Parade, I feel that she is so detail-oriented she gets nitpicky. hahahahhaha (Ko: what?? Masha thinks that??) In the scene at the family restaurant... you know how restaurants these days have iPads for ordering on each table, and the screen isn't fixed but rotates all the time? Every now and then, the AD or other staff would go and tap on the iPad, and Ko-chan would be so concerned about whether the screen is still the same as before for consistency's sake. She's the one who's most concerned about it, always swiping the screen going "pass, pass..." (Ko: gotta change the wrong screen) I mean, I think that I was nitpicky. I concern myself over a lot of things in life, so I'm the type of person that makes living tiring. But I guess Ko-chan also lives tiredly like me. (Ko: no not at all)

But precisely because of how she cares more than the average person, she treats everyone with kindness, whether it's people, the environment, animals, cooking ingredients, all the people and living things around her. She treats all of that kindly, but I just to tell her something, as a fellow person who's too stubborn over certain things: (Ko: yes?) I hope that while you treat other lives kindly, you can also be kinder to yourself. I think this is even more important, to understand that you first have to exist to be kind to the people and things other than yourself. So isn't it great to learn to love yourself more? (Ko: true)

Whoops, I talked a lot! Let's continue when we go back to filming. I truly believe that this will be a great work. Let's make it better than what we imagine it can be. Let's enjoy ourselves during filming until the end of the project. So finally, congratulations on turning 40. And finally, fans, please continue to take care of Shibasaki Ko.
