Okay, 13 seats, including Fuuko- this tells us a lot.

Sick was officially an Open quest- Rip wasn't part of the table at that point, and Latla still isn't.

The table evolves at 12 or 13 people- and one of these seats was a reward for Sick's quest.

There's like no way Granpasshin is still in the armor.

Let's go through it.

Burn is back. His reward is based on A Silent Voice.

Summer's reward is too generic for me to pinpoint a specific inspiration - maybe it's a Warhammer, for Harley Quinn?

Both First Ten reward the same thing of two roundtable seats, which is probably what Sick gave, too.

I predicted UMA Beast, but wasn't sure about Language, since Nico soloed Language last loop. I guess this just means either Language doesn't like to fight, or Nico's the fucking greatest.

I'm gonna go with Nico being the greatest.

Given that Summer's here, and Feng still isn't a member, that's gotta be where it happens. Are they gonna give Mui Untruth again?

Undead Unluck Cinderella!AU: The Masterpost

Hi :3 it's been a while, but i had been non-stop drawing to bring you all the Cinderella!AU cast with UU characters, i will write the basics of the story later bc i'm incapable of writing long paragraphs.

The drawing that made me start this AU

Let's start with our protagonist, Fuuko as Cinderella:

But our dear protagonist needs her mice friends:

We got our mains first: Haruka, Top, Gina, Sean and Chikara, taking the places of Jaq and Gus

I remember that there were mice kids/children, the younglings!

Phil, Bunny, Tatiana, Lucy and Betty (almost forgot her)

Mice! Veronica and Tella are here to take care of them/protect them from the evil cats

With how many chores have to be done everyday around the house, there have to be some specialised mice:

In the kitchen, Billy works with the sweets, Enjin helps with the almost everything (he's too passionate for this job) and Rip cuts the veggies. Yusai can´t be let near the drinks alone, but she always knows the best one for the occasion.

There's so many clothes that need mending and cleaning, the Sewing Team: Latla, Kurusu and Leila, are the right mice to do the job.

(ps. i bet Kurusu and Gina smugled that book to make cute dresses for Fuuko)

Sooo many books to keep clean and organised in this house, good thing Mice Anno Un and Akira are doing their damn best to keep the house library in peak condition, they even have the time to dramatise Fuuko's favorite romance books for everyone

Mouse Feng does everything around the house, why? because he wants to be better than Fuuko in everything

Miscellaneous Mice bcs i don't know in what role do they fit: Grandpa Isshin, Creed, Mei, Shen, Mui, Mui's little brother (do we even know his name?), Ms. Hawkins and Void.

And we can't forget our dear doggo Burn, taking dog Bruno's place

This Au is not complete without some villains

Human! Luna as Lady Tremaine, BUT she's not Fuuko's stepmother, Lady Luna is a distant relative, grandfather's niece and further kinda deal

Lady Luna has three kids:

Big Brother Soul, the kind of person to say "BuT wE aRe FaMiLy" when he does something bad to Fuuko but would absolutely not tolerate any of Fuuko's mistakes

Middle Brother Apocalypse, evil? no, no, no, he's a tsundere, the kind to say "i'm not washing the clothes because i want to help you or anything! it's just that you are too clumsy". Fuuko sees right through his bullshit and thanks him eveytime she can to Apocchy's embarrassment

And Little Bother/Sister Ruin (i'm more inclined to fem!Ruin), she's considerably more aggressive to Fuuko than the rest, her aggressiveness spurred on by her mom Luna and big brother Soul. Apocalypse has tried to help her to no avail.

THE CAT! Why should we limit ourselves to one evil cat, when we can have FOUR?

Shadow hides in the dark corners and stairs, waiting for an unsuspecting victim, putting themselves in the middle of the path to make them trip

Blood wakes up and craves violence, he scratches the furniture, the curtains and people... Fuuko stays the fuck away from this evil cat

Spoil can't be let alone with the food, he steals it but he doesn't eat it, no, he enjoys watching it spoil and the faces of disgust from the people that find his masterpiece, fortunately dogo Burn is always guarding the kitchen.

Seal enjoys watching the desperation in peoples' faces as he slowly pushes the fine glassware from the top drawer to the cold hard floor, unfortunately for Seal, Mouse Feng is always watching

Do you remember the Gran Duke? the poor man was so close to die, but for this AU, we have the Grand Duke and Duchess, Nico and Ichico (Which one is who is up to you)

We got our King! King Juiz, KING JUIZ, KING JUIZ!!!

If you saw the third animated Cinderella movie, you would remember the Queen's paintings, and i decided that we need a Queen (an alive one), salute our dear Queen: Queen Victor!! (do you forgive me for putting him on a dress? 🥺)

At last, we need our prince for this AU, but why have only one?!

We need our Fairy Godmother to bring some miracles to life! And i couldn't pick anyone else for this role than my beloved, Spring 🌸

Let him have some fun!!

This is the real last one, but although it wasn't a sentient character, it would be unforgivable not casting Clothy as Fuuko's dress

(Can you imagine what Andy would do to Clothy once he discovers that he's Fuuko's dress? 💀)

That's all the character designs for this AU, and now i can start drawing some scenes for this AU.

Oh boy, I sure do hope my uu week posts don’t inch even closer to the end-of-day mark, haha.

Day 5: Favorite arc: Ragnarok, buuut since everyone already said what I want to praise on the arc, my other favorite arc is….

Negator War.

Like I said in day 1, I’m a sucker for when the side cast actually have time to shine, and this is, up until now, the only arc where this many previously kinda irrelevant members of Under actually get their moments.

The recruiting process were some fun setup chapters, and then the arc made some amazing character development for Tella (way too little in loop 100) and Sean (literally his character pic in the popularity poll is his loop 100 death pic).

I found it kinda funny that the non-combative Negators in this arc ended up being in the mainline group with the same inportance as Nico and Ichico, while Yusai and Creed basically got sidelined two arcs later.

My main reason for the arc being by 2nd favorite is that, I considered this arc to be Billy’s actual redemption moment, not chapter 118. We finally know the rest of his backstory and what prompted him to to all those things in loop 100.

The 100th Union is a sort of family to him that it pains him to see said family members, some of whom are his former child’s age go into battle with humanity-ending monsters, that he uses the power that feeds upon hatred and vigilance to be the strongest (something he explained without elaborating to Andy in the Spring arc) to shoulder all burdens.

Headcanon: Rereading this arc, I saw that Luna witnesses at least the following:

-Untell’s awakening in both loops

-Undecreasing manifesting and the troops sent in to betray Creed

-The new Union jumping Billy and Unfair activating

-Billy vs Fuuko

-Disc’s destruction.

The rest of the events either happened during the day or heacy weather.

Ch 48: A Story I Won't See Coming

Sean makes his move

And Sean is bad, even for a bad guy! He won't take orders from Rip, and he's trying to move up the ranks at Under by killing the harmless and endangered Fuuko.

It seems like Under, (a collection of Negators with different goals that blossomed from a mutiny, lacks a clear endgame, is picking up clues piecemeal by following the good guys around, and doesn't seem to have any overarching philosophy other than anger and resentment) is having trouble with group cohesion and loyalties. Chaos is guaranteed!

The story cuts back to Akira Kuno, who is now a serialized author, and his decision to go look for Andy in Japan. And he finds him!

Andy is studying iaido in the mountains with a woman named Yusai. We learn that she's the one who taught him the Moonlight style!

Learning how to do quick-draw styles is how Andy is keeping Josh alive in his heart. So sweet!

Aaaaaaaaaand he's found another woman who wants him all to herself lol. He sure has a lot of...ardent female supporters.

DO NOT THREATEN AKIRA'S OTP! RED ALERT!

Yusai is an awesome samurai woman with tears in her eyes begging Andy to make dojo heirs with her, but it's unclear how Andy feels about her. At this time, he hadn't met Fuuko and didn't have the second set of "what-if" memories, either.

I wonder how much time they spent together! Was it just the two of them? And how did he find her? He agrees to marry her on one condition:

Yusai is like another possible ship for Andy. It's kind of hilarious how many shipping opportunities there are for him when the main story depends on him and Fuuko being a pair. I don't really get into shipping much myself but I think it's fun to imagine different pairings.

I also wonder if this is God/the Author's way of throwing a wrench into the story in an attempt to keep Andy and Fuuko from falling in love, because that's the only way to defeat God. Like, "what if I just throw a whole bunch of potential love interests at Andy and see if he goes for one of them instead of Fuuko?"

It's interesting that Yusai is in the panel where it says Negators have hard lives. Is she a Negator? We don't see much regarding her abilities.

There's another clue that she's a Negator in Chapter 29, where someone who looks a lot like her working with Under.

What happened to Yusai? And is she fighting with a fan instead of a sword? (Also I love the way Rip, Andy, and Fuuko are almost on a theater stage in front of a backdrop in that panel.)

As Akira watches Andy walk away, he thinks about the tragic fate of all Negators and how they're unfairly destined to suffer. We see the tragedies that befell four different Negators: Billy, Shen, Top, and Nico.

Billy is sitting at a grave in the rain, surrounded by bottles. Shen is reaching for someone who's fallen off a cliff, and someone else is standing behind him. Top is crying at the feet of someone in a wheelchair, and Nico looks like he just woke up from a nightmare.

All of the Negators in UU have traumatic power awakenings that set their lives on new courses. Is it the same event in every Loop? I'm curious to find out what Victor's and Juiz's tragedies were.

Speaking of which, Akira thinks about the future he knows in which the Union is defeated, and we see Victor crying next to a dead or severely hurt Juiz, all while the sun bears down to begin the world's destruction.

Akira knows they're going to lose?!

But Akira found a loophole! If he can use his pen-name to publish the story, he can leave clues for the Negators to help them grow in a way that changes the future. It's like he didn't want to spoil the ending!

He knows the characters have to evolve naturally, and simply telling the story as he knows it won't spur any growth from them. It's a lot like how an author has to put characters through challenges in order to develop them believably.

He focuses on the battle with UMA Autumn as the pivotal time to intervene. We see him visiting the Union library to do research and going into a swamp to find the Soul Caliber Artifact.

I love how we have two characters with such similar powers in this arc: Sean's invisibility and Akira's imperceptibility.

Back in the present, Sean takes his chance to kill Fuuko. At the same time, Anno Un calls out to Andy to use Dead-Line.

Insane! So if Anno Un hadn't rescued them from Autumn, Sean would've killed Fuuko! And if Andy hadn't learned Dead-Line from Victor, he wouldn't have been able to save her!

Sean was cut in half and we can finally see him a little. He has a third eye under his baseball cap! And a butterfly knife, like all cool juvenile delinquents. Rip is stunned!

It looks like Fuuko has finally awakened, too! Anno Un says that they don't know what will happen now that the story has been changed. What will become of Anno Un if they can no longer draw?

The Union still has to capture UMA Autumn and deal with Rip and the bunny suit person. It sure would be nice to have Anno Un to tell them how to do it!

Not sure if you see it this way, but I think UDUL has a pretty interesting take on “living is suffering”:

- I feel like some of the past “traumatic events” of the cast (Fuuko, Yusai, Gina, Void and Chikara to an extent) are too “melodramatic” for me to fully take seriously. I’m not sure if I just got desensitized to the “big accident happens, many people die / career lost” kind of story. Some backstories I think are meant to be half-funny like Sean’s.

- What I really love in this series is how those Negators live their lives AFTER said traumtic event happened. I was way more invested in flashbacks in Autumn and Spring arc of Fuuko’s life and copings following the plane accident. This cast with varied ways of life after their power tragedies like being deppressed and trying to take burdens on themselves, getting over the death of their best friends/relatives, living reclused lives, dedicating their lives serving a cause or even turning to petty crimes and assassinating, with one particular guy not even realizing the “tragedy” still follows him being never satisfied with his current strength.

Anyway that’s my overall thought on why UU is interesting to me - someone who usually hates melodrama. I couldnt find any post of you on this topic so I figure I should say my thoughts here.

I can definitely see the overblown traumatic events taking someone out of it. Fuuko's never bothered me since the problem was her parents, everyone else was just a natural extension of the circumstance, but Gina taking out an entire town with no clear strong personal connection to anyone there is both too large of a scale and too impersonal for me to be invested in beyond the understanding that it's objectively bad

The smaller the scale, the easier it is to sympathize; Nico's only clear memory of his wife being her pained face upon death, Shen personally dropping his sister off of a cliff, Tatiana instantly obliterating her family and home, Creed being left for dead by his own military, these are all pains and losses that are pretty easy to understand

And of course, learning how to live post-tragedy is what Undead Unluck is all about. We all experience loss sooner or later, and it's easy to blame oneself for it. Waking up the next day and going on as if nothing happened can be harder than the experience itself, but allowing yourself to be consumed by it is just a waste. Life is meant to be lived, and no matter what guilt you carry, you still deserve to find happiness. You may need to make amends first, even if only to forgive yourself, but you deserve to enjoy life

Undead Unluck is about all of the different kinds of guilt and pain and loss that keep people from being happy and finding ways to overcome them and be happy. Undead Unluck's answer is near-universally to find joy by being with others, "heaven is other people" so to speak, but that isn't necessarily the only answer in real life. It's a good one, for sure, but I doubt Tozuka would want anyone to fall into despair at the realization that they're having trouble finding other people

The unrealistic scale of tragedy is undoubtedly just a matter of this being fiction; any idea, no matter how big or horrible, can be explored in its entirety in fiction, so big things can be made to happen for the sake of making an impact. Even if you can't sympathize, one just needs to understand why it would have an effect on those in context, and what it means for them to move past it

Undead Unluck Week Day 5: Favorite Arc

I had a lot of trouble with this one, cause there are so many UU arcs I adore. But if I had to pick one, it'd have to be

The Spring arc. It just has so many excellent moments

It's the first time Fuuko and Andy are apart for an extended period of time, which gives us cunning planner Fuuko and Andy staying up for three days waiting for her to reach them, plus both Andy and Fuuko realizing and accepting that they're in love with each other

It has Top's backstory, Chikara development, Haruka presentation + backstory + development, Yusai's first proper appearance, the excellent Andy vs Billy fight, Andy trolling Rip, Latla drinking from a giant ass bottle of sake with Bunny's help, and of course, the main dish:

Fuuko versus Spring is such a beautiful fight. It puts Fuuko front and center as a strategist, gives us the reveal of a phase three, and ends with the most bittersweet finale one could possibly think of. Truly an amazing arc
