35) How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive?

Red has always been a really selfless toon!

He loves his friends and he'll often find himself putting his own things on hold in order to show support for them. He'll nod along, and participate in conversation, ask questions to prove he's listening.

Red will have morning coffee with Val on their balconies (they are neighbors, after all), and complain together about their jobs and talk about the people they know. Red will listen attentively to Boba explaining how to properly hook up electronics.

And when Mojito comes home at 3 in the morning ranting and raving about what happened at the bar, Red will nod along with an exhausted look, still smiling.

I think, in a strange, roundabout way.. the reason Red appears so plain on the outside is because he hasn't really dedicated any time to finding out what he's excited about.

And as such, no one really ever feels the need to support him.

I'm really interested on how YRZ and Valentino meet and kept meeting. So far, I know they met because they were in the same industry and were somewhat aware of each other. And somehow YRZ's ability to speak Spanish is one of the reasons they first meet. What happened?

well they ran in the same circles for about ten years, though yrz was already on his way out by that point. yrz is very, very good at his job and val was like hey free talent. yrz went 'lol that's cute' and smacked val down. vas wasn't an overlord yet, and he didn't have the other vees backing him so yrz was way out of his league.

val realized that force wouldn't work and turned on the charm, and yrz thought it was funny enough to indulge him. like sure val is gross but also: hell. both of them speaking Spanish gave them a reason to continue talking. (i headcanon that all sinners speak hellish as a common language, something that gets put in when they first arrive. it's like a universal language of hell, though different circles have particular accents and dialects).

at firt val just wanted yrz for his skills, but as time went on val realized that he liked yrz just. as a person. which was weird for him! so sex turned into hangouts and sex, something that looked like dates if you turned your head and squinted. yrz never once considered val as relationship material though.

val met vox around the ten-year mark, and started gaining more power and getting pushier and pushier with yrz. yrz is like 'aight. time to dip!' and quit the industry altogether. val, a jealous asshole, is blindsided by this and he and yrz have their second serious knockdown drag-out fight. yrz stomps val but leaves him alive out of respect for their acquaintanceship.

then he vanishes into the ether for fifteen years.

Which canon character respects your OC(Val) most? What gained that respect?

Okay so this question is honestly very difficult to answer because Val is one of my OCs that doesn't interact much with canon cast and the ones she does interact with (aka Varia) are kinda... not really people that scream "RESPECT!" y'know?

One of the people that does respect her (though I really don't know about most) would be Lussuria. He admires her combat abilities and the way she balances being a mother and an assassin at the same time.

Which canon character does your OC(Val) respect a lot?

Val respects several people in her life but since this is asking for a canon character I would say: Daniela Vongola. They only ever meet briefly during Vongola get togethers but the small glimpse she got, combined with the Eighth's reputation, was enough to make a lasting impression. Daniela is known as a ruthless woman, ruling the strongest mafia family during the second world war and dominating in a position that has always been hold by men. Valerie admires her drive and strength. Also Daniela has a surprisingly wicked sense of humor which Val appreciates in a person.

okay here is my review of Tremors (1990)

LOL so there’s not a canon endgame (not that anything about TIC is “canon,” but you guys know what I mean hehehe), but there are a few fun possibilities that people can chew on! There may be an “official” endgame at some point if I ever write a post-canon future fic set in this AU, but that’s a big IF!

Option 1 - Matthew / someone else from home: This would probably happen the summer after her junior year of college (after she and KT split up), and they’d have a summer fling that just lasted past the summer. Idk I haven’t fully fleshed out any of these

Option 2 - the one, the only Greg Harrison: I have no idea how this would happen, but it would be funny. Maybe they met at a conference for work, but Greg doesn’t strike me as an academic so idk.

Option 3 - Amber: This is my least favorite option, but also would be super iconic. If they ran into each other/met up at a bar in NYC and just really hit it off. #AndTheyWereRoommates

Option 4 - Fabian: So this is only an option if Fabina for whatever reason doesn’t work out (like if she isolated herself out of fear of hurting other ppl with chosen one bullshit, got killed by chosen one bullshit, they just had another wacky breakup… you know how it goes). Kira and Fabian both become professors at the same university when they’re older, teaching different things obviously. They would be colleagues in academia, and I think they would actually pair up surprisingly well. Students at the university would eat it up for sure. But in this universe I kinda think Fabina stays endgame, but yeah I flip-flop on them way too much lol

Option 5 - … KT: OKAY! I’ve given it thought, and it’s very possible that they could have broken up in college, stayed good friends, and then gotten back together later down the line. Maybe they hooked up again at a wedding or something (why is that always my go-to for getting couples back together post-canon omg??)

When you get to your spot next to [Val/L] that morning, you see a charred mess next to your computer. A charred mess that wasn’t there when you left the office yesterday— A charred mess that won’t be easy to clean. At all.

It’s not your fault. You know it’s not. But, as things stand, A is going to kill you got the catastrophic barbeque that has taken place on your spot.

A little panicked, you turn toward the only other person in the room, “Hey, L,” you hesitate and then point to the disaster that is your desk, “What’s this?”

The siren snorts, doesn’t even look at you as they take one headphone jack off their ear. They lean back on their chair in a way you know would make Cyrus nag about ‘unsafe workplace attitudes’.

“Dumitru wanted to give you flowers,” L shrugs.

“Oh,” you pause. Look at the mess, then back at L “And the... Flowers?”

They clarify, “Those are the flowers. I burned them.”

“Oh,” you pause again. “... Why?”

“You never shut up do you? I could. So I did it. There.”

Their resistance (and their flushed cheeks) manage to light up the curiosity in you, and so you try and fail for the next few minutes to get them to spill why. Keyword: fail.

(Later, when the vampire gets to work, they walk in the office carrying themself with the same airs of faint superiority. Their cold, red eyes soften when they land on you, only to harden again when they see you’re with L, and what has happened to their gift for you. Then, Val turns toward the siren.

“Greetings pet,” they address you instead, all the attention L gets from Val is a deadly and freezing glare, “I hope you, or someone you know, is fond of fish sticks.”

Unimpressed, L flips Val off, “Suck my fish dick.”)

Thank you mutuals in the tags for reminding me that I have never actually talked about Val and Danse's relationship. The entire point of this blog. The two characters that I post about almost exclusively. Oops.

Yeah, they're hopelessly in love with each other, but they don't get together until shortly before the brotherhoods siege on the institute at the end of the last act. 90% of the time when I'm drawing them its mid-game, when Danse is still in the brotherhood and Val is still looking for Shaun. Maybe I should start actually talking about what happens to Val through the story instead of vaguely alluding to it.

Val and Petra are more concerned remaining tough and very Rock proud. He's a little more scare to open up to them. He's probably tell Billy before them, but once more there's sort of a power difference between them and Char doesn't want to disappoint Billy, so he doesn't tell him.

The thing about the scrivener trial is it's SO good. It only counts days you actually open the app??? I am kissing the free scrivener trial on the mouth.

But the other thing is now I get this urge to not open it because what if whatever I write isn't worth a full day of the free trial huh what then. This is dumb because I've literally already decided I'm going to buy it. Just not until the trial runs out. It's a one time purchase. Why am I like this.
