Fall, Year 8: Vampire Apartments, pt. 2

I had to start this household a couple of times due to crashing or other issues.  For some reason Count Ray kept skulking out to the mailbox with no action that I could cancel.

Then he would hang around there for no reason, until I sent him back in and he would go back out.

Meanwhile Chastity kept jumping out of interactions.  I remembered having problems like that when I placed a bed from an inventory, so once I replaced their bed, they were back to normal again.

I had this idea that Chastity was Count Ray’s captive, but since she’s a vampire now too and their engagement is back on, it seems like more of a normal, equal relationship.

She’s starting to develop her social life again when Prince Calvin invites her on an outing.

Count Ray was tired so he stayed home, so Chastity gets to enjoy a night on the town with friends.

Oops, I had forgotten that Calvin and Chastity had been an item in the past, but they did not.  Once Miranda, his pregnant wife and her twin sister, heads home early, Calvin puts the moves on Chastity and she does not resist.

There’s just enough time to freestyle for tips before dawn approaches and Chastity has to head home.

At home, Count Ray keeps Chastity entertained with his skillful musical talents.

I have a lot of graveyards in the kingdom, but I’m not sure where to put Vlad and Contessa Lilly’s remains.  For now, Count Ray has been carrying them around from house to house.

I’m not surprised when Vlad’s ghost shows up to scare Chastity.  They were a couple before he died and she moved on with his father, so I think she had this coming.

okay but WHYYY is no one talking about louis and daniel WHYYYYYYYYYY is no one talking about the greatest grandpa4grandpa relationship known to man and i don’t even mean romantically i mean in the most basic human platonic level their relationship is FASCINATING.

and like, they’re both absolutely terrified by each other because they’re both uniquely skilled at getting under each other’s skin and finding that truth (and also because… louis could just up and eat daniel anytime but shhhh…) and it’s because they UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER. louis’s interviewing daniel as much as daniel’s interviewing him, just. pulling teeth from each other’s head, trying to pull out all the rot with such violence and cruelty (from both of them!! daniel is a cockwallop!!) but they want to help each other they CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER.

We all know the idea of Danny getting adopted by one of the batfam. But hear me out: Danny gets adopted by Vampire Dick Grayson. 

Danny honestly, did not mean to dimension hop, nor did he mean to get this injured in the first place, where his vision is spinning and there’s greenRedGreenGreenGREEN spilling from his body like he’s melting from the inside. He didn’t mean to get caught, he just didn’t want Dan to happen again, not again and the GIW had seen him flying and-

something something the reason so many YA aimed supernatural adventure or romance stories fail on TV is because they lack a sarcastic old dude to attract the audience like moths too flame. Supernatural didn’t work because everyone was a hot young teenager, it got an absurd double digit number of seasons because Castiel had frown lines and Crowley was a a chubby middle aged dude with oodles of charisma. The reason tumblr is talking about Interview with the Vampire and not Dead Boy Detectives, even though DBD was designed in a fucking lab to appeal to the Tumblr demographic, is single handedly owed to old man Daniel Molloy snarking at the vampire melodrama and refusing to take part in it until he’s literally physically dragged in. It’s that resistance, that lack of pretty boy polish, that grit of something that doesn’t want to just go along with the perfectly manicured supernatural romance fantasy that is the stuff that fandoms go feral over and if you just try to make a show of the perfectly pretty polished fanfics that get made out of the gritty old man snark then you are going to fail and worse, be unmemorable, in this essay I will…

Fall, Year 8: Vampire Apartments, pt. 1

Brett’s girls catch up on their homework before school.

After they’re off to school, he invites Sheridan over for a date.

“Right this way.”

They play a little pool in the common area

and share a dance.  (I just like taking pictures of this lot.)

Blaire grows up into an artistically minded teenager.

I think I did download a mod that let vampires be out of their apartments later at night because the common areas seem more active now.

Blaire needs to watch out for Count Ray though.  He isn’t trustworthy.

Brissa meets a cat and I add it to the family.

Captain Hero needs some night hours.  Get inside!

Brett invites Mercy over for a visit.  He would have invited her over earlier, but he had to wait for sundown.  She will be moving in at least temporarily next season as a new graduate, but I’m not sure where she will end up permanently yet.

When I switch over to the neighbors, Blaire’s bad attitude comes through.  Her aspiration is good and she has a lot of nice points, so I’m not sure what her problem is.

Samson has to kick her out of the apartment and lock the door behind her.

Victoria:  But I can’t do my homework.  It’s stuck under the fire.

Look at that face of innocence as if she wasn’t the one to put it there.

Roderick has his child birthday.

Despite being on birth control, Yasmin is pregnant again.  Maybe I need both partners to be on it to make a difference.

it’s so. good. that buffy has to feel self loathing about what she’s doing with spike specifically because the underpinnings of the show require that vampires be Bad Monster Creatures who Cannot Feel and are just Lifeless Demons otherwise everything comes into question. about everything. except that spike is the crack in the foundation of the show itself and in that, he makes the show better! he’s the only end that makes sense for her because he sets her free!!!
