We had an adventure last night! Lockdown has given me plenty of opportunity to be at home and contemplate my little garden the result is that I am now in all the local gardening groups on Facebook and keep buying plants and garden accessories from them! Yesterday evening I planned to pick up some old metal cartwheels (just night iron circles) from a guy and I plan to use them to grow climbers and creepers. He warned that they wouldn’t fit in my car and he was right - they were massive and heavy! Oops. Whether or not they fit in the garden remains to be seen. Since I couldn’t use the car I hired this Evie electric van. This is a new thing in Jersey, I’ve already tried the electric bikes which were fab. I tried to hire it Tuesday but I got a phone call from the lovely Andrew Ruellan from Evie to say that the previous renter hadn’t returned it yet. I rebooked first Wednesday. So two things were new experiences - I’ve never driven a van before and I’ve never driven an electric vehicle before. Result: what fun! The van is awesome, really smooth and easy to drive (no key - you unlock it with your phone). Picked up the cartwheels but I annnoyingly managed to lock the van whilst it was still on so the magical phone app wouldn’t unlock it again! 20 minutes later after chatting with the guy who sold me the wheels and a phone call to Andrew, he came out with a key and let us in the van again. I think he was slightly surprised about the contents, I’d put in the description of use that it was garden decorations! The cartwheels just about fitted thank goodness. Anyway, a fun evening of pootling around in the van and meeting some very lovely people. The cost of the van was £16.50 for an hour and a half but because of the inconvenience of Tuesday I got it gratis.
