I wanted to draw Varian being a clumsy goofball, so I drew him hanging from a pipe, having just dropped his wrench and caught it. And of course, Hugo just happened to walk up just after he caught it.

Rewatching tts and remembering how much of a little freak Varian is. Quirin was probably so concerned about Varian making shrines to a criminal in his basement and being accident-prone while creating explosions. I need him to maintain that energy in vat7k because he’s such a little dork I love him -that one anon

I like to think while he's still accident prone, the fear and anxiety about what he caused to happen (the uh, amber. His dad.) causes him to be SIGNIFICANTLY more careful in the future. Not because he actually gets better at being careful, just because he's sickeningly terrified of messing up like that again.

He moves slower as to not knock stuff over, he watches his feet when he walks so he doesn't trip, he pre-measures chemicals with droppers and beakers so he doesn't accidentally spill something dangerous onto/into something he's not as experienced with because what if it happens again?

What if he kills the people he cares about? All because he was just a little too careless? What if no one forgives him?

Context: During a montage in which the gang travels across a mountain range/scales a mountain, Hugo attempts to shut down his growing feelings for Varian before he falls too deep. Will he succeed? (SPOILER: No, no he will not.)

Oh!! Thank you! I'm very glad to hear that you like it! ♥♥♥ And, well, I have a... Complicated... Relationship with Vat7K. Like... I like a very few takes that some friends have on it (and by few, I mean like one or two), but the """"canon"""" version is... Really not my cup of tea. Funnily enough, I am considering of putting my own spin on it in the context of BCW and PEEV eventually. A sort of side project maybe while I rework the rest of season 1 for my au, rewrite BCW (i have grown as a writer and have better ideas now), and a few of the early chapters of PEEV.

and as for varigo... Same as Vat7K as a whole, I like maybe one or two takes on it but the """canon""" version is not for me... I mean, it's cute, but I never really shipped Varian much with anyone except maaaaaaaybe Faith on the grounds of they're both cute dorks and I can see them being cute dorks together... but Varian has two hands... they can be a polycule... Varian has the brain cell like 99.9% of the time.
