A Mini Style Guide: Portrait Edition Part 2 ✨ Keep the location, season and weather in mind. Summer dresses in the middle of winter might not be the best call unless you’re going for a specific creative look (by the way I’m here for that!) A good rule of thumb is to dress for the season and weather in mind. If it’s warm out, grab your favorite spring/summer dress or outfits. If it’s cold outside, pull out those warm sweaters and layering pieces. ✨A few styling tips for each season: - Spring/Summer: I love lighter colors in the summer such as pastels and neutrals. So often we end up shooting surrounded by greenery, so staying away from wearing green or darker colors are usually best to make you standout from the background. - Fall: layer up! Whatever you decide to wear, layers are your best friend. We are talking a cute shirt, jacket or sweater, little scarf, whatever you want to add more depth to your outfit. Fall is perfect for that. Tones during this time of year are typically yellows and oranges, so try to coordinate colors that go well with these. I would recommend not wearing any bright florals or major distracting prints during this time of year because the fall leaves already bring so much to the photos. - Winter: layers like the fall session are perfect for winter as well. I also love to suggest a cute beanie, some mittens to throw on for a few shots, be creative and have fun with it. Just remember, if there is snow, do not wear white or creams if you can avoid it.
