In the Ratchet and Clank artbook Vendra is seen having a bunny nether pet thing. It's not the first time we have seen a villain with a pet in the franchise but it would have been lovely to see in the final product, as if to show the softer side of the antagonist or something.

Vendra Prog

Anybody maybe visiting my profile after I randomly came up and suggested you have a go at drawing fanart of somebody called Vendra Prog in your six fanarts challenge- this post is here for exactly the reason you think it is. So you can see roughly what she looks like at the click of a button without having to type anything, and how fun she may or may not be to draw.

You totally don’t have to draw her of course! I don’t want to come off as rude in any way. I just can’t help but want to suggest her, because she is super super fun to draw, has a very aesthetic design and there is hardly any fanart of her out there.

So Vendra Prog is a villain from the PlayStation video game series - ‘Ratchet and Clank’, specifically ‘Into the Nexus’. She is what the people of the Polaris Galaxy call a ‘space witch’, but really she is a species called a Nether from a different dimension. Her magic powers she weilds as a result of finding and enlarging a rift in the dimensions to come into contact with the other Nethers, specifically one called Mr Eye, a massive otherworldly being she seems to be her only friend. Besides of course, her twin brother- Neftin Prog, who would do anything to protect her. They grew up in an orphanage where they felt isolated and alone. Vendra and Neftin wished to go back to their home dimension, but cannot do so, as their bodies could no longer adapt to that world. So Vendra decides instead to bring her kind into the Polaris Galaxy using her powers and a device called a Dimensionator.

Time to get salty. And yeah, I'm going to be pretty honest, I'm not gunna word this nicely. My word isn't law but I have some strong opinions I don't wanna put pillows on.9. Most disliked character(s). Why?One of them is an easy guess: Stuart Zurgo. He doesn't exist, and that's about all I need to say. The other is Vendra Prog, and if I listed all the reasons I despite her, I'd be here for the next year or so. What I will say is this. If you draw fanart of her, I will still support you, as I try to support the person behind the idea. If you write a fanfic of her, I may not be as charitable (since Vendra's opening her mouth), but I will try to support when I can. But one thing that pisses me off to no end is the fact that she killed two people onscreen, something almost none of the other villains in the series has ever done (and let me stress the ONSCREEN part, as we actually got to see it happened rather than it being told to us), and having the game force me to forgive her because she's apparently this smol precious lil bab that just made some mistakes. Oh yeah, and this comes in the level right after she kills Cronk and Zephyr. You know, fuck organic story-telling and character arcs that take time to develop, let's pull a Reboot-Qwark {maybe this was a precursor?} and force her to be forgiven even though she doesn't deserve it cause precious baboo got bullied. And before I stop talking, no, do not compare her redemption arc to Nefarious. Nefarious spent two major games as a villain and one game as a reluctant anti-hero. He spent years as a villain, and he peaked as a villain in CiT. And for his crimes, he was not only banished to a floating rock in space for two years, he was beaten so badly in CiT that he had the equivalent of a seizure before collapsing to the ground dead. His role as a villain ended when he died, and when A4O came around, he was then put into the same position as the heroes. He went through the same things Ratchet and Clank normally faced, and began to form bonds with his former enemies throughout the game. By the end, he showed the slightest signs that he craved the friendship he made on the journey and thinking about changing sides. Even after we learned from the vidcomics that he was bullied mercilessly by Qwark, it still didn't forgive the stuff he did in CiT. Years of character work, three games under his belt, and he still isn't fully redeemed. Vendra gets hers in like fifteen minutes (technically forgiveness rather than redemption, but that's a lot more than many of the other villains get) , and gets the lightest punishment besides Reboot Qwark. You're forced to forgive her in the span of... how long's ItN, five hours? And judging by the, "Can we still be evil?" question, she learned jack shit and if she ever got out of prison, she'd still do the same things she did in ItN.I got a dissertation, but I'll stop there. 15. Unpopular opinion about the manga/show (in this case, game)? TJ Fixman isn't immune to criticism. His writing isn't God's word, and he's caused a good amount of problems by trying to force story-telling. Like the Angela thing. Because of that, female Lombaxes are forbidden to have tails, even though this whole thing was told in a news broadcast and Angela existing disproved all of Fixman's story arc on Ratchet. The unpopular opinion is that Fixman's writing can be bad in places, so don't tell me his writing is the greatest thing that's ever touched this earth. 16, 17, and 25. Gunna try and condense this one since these overlap and I'm trying to get through this without spending too much of my night. I'm probably going to answer only one of them, but if I could change something from one of the games, it'd be not having Qwark redeemed in the Reboot. As much as I don't want to give the Qwark-haters more ammo for them to proudly shoot me down and make me feel like utter shit with, I would've loved to see him be a villain again. It'd be cool to see him on the big screen, in charge of the Protopet menace. It'd be cool to see him grow and change as a character over the course of a couple games, but... sure, we'll just give him that redemption... like Vendra... 26. Most shippable character? Super biased when I say Nefarious, but realistically I'd say Ratchet. Ratchet's the one who's got the most fans and the one the fans want to see get a partner. 27. Least shippable cahracter?Tachyon. He's a literal psychopath, he legitimately can't feel love. He can't feel anything, so I ain't planning on shipping him with anyone. If I did, it'd be one of the most unhealthy relationships I'd ever write, as he'd utterly manipulate his partner into loving him endlessly and doing whatever he wanted, including doing life-threatening things. So yeah, not the best bachelor on the planet.
