yes i'm so sorry i should have made that clear *.* yeah instead of me playing as game's original characters, i can play as me or a customize a character to make it look like me so i can at least pretend it's me. ^^ i've never rlly played vgs much cus i was broke jsdjjs but i'm starting to get interested in them again recently ^^ and somehow playing as other characters don't do much for me

i get u!!! most games w character creation do give you a background with varying detail from game to game but beyond that it’s free real estate so off the top of my head:

saints row, baldur’s gate, dragon age/mass effect (they give u a last name and a vague origin based on species but u get to pick some details in mass effect. da2 is pretty specific on the backstory tho), fallout, pillars of eternity (not the most in depth visually but still u can use ur imagination since you don’t really see yourself up close that much), skyrim, bloodborne, diablo, stardew valley (ascustomisable as a pixel game can be but in some ways that’s a good thing), nioh......... that’s all i got right now but i do know there’s a lot of online games that let u run free w customisation like final fantasy (xiv??? i think??), elder scrolls and black desert (which i think is free??) but i haven’t played them so don’t quote me on it

each dragon age game has its own primo romances, personal faves are leliana in origins, isabela in 2, and josephine in inquisition

mass effect games also do! liara t’soni is my ultimate love. understand this.

i hesitate to recommend life is strange bc uhhhhh the ending is Suffering but pricefield will always have a place in my heart. the prequel game before the storm is also quite good but just know that in lis it’s possible for one of them to die and in bts one of them DOES die

the one in uncharted: the lost legacy isnt canon insofar as they dont kiss but like, it might as well be. it might as well be. chlodine is real and canon in everyone’s heads, including naughty dog’s

the last of us: left behind (the dlc for the last of us) has one, one of them does die but damn what a great game. recommend playing the last of us main game too bc it provides context for parts of left behind and is also a prerequisite for the last of us 2 which is looking to be good and gay, we’ll see what naughty dog gives us next week

pillars of eternity 2: deadfire has some really good ones and has the added boon of the romanceable characters being voiced by marisha ray and laura bailey

same situation as uncharted lost legacy, the one in tomb raider (2013) isnt like Canon but it IS. it is. the other two games and the other extra shit like the comics try to get rid of it but it is.

Because, probably a solid TEN YEARS ago, a friend -- while drugged -- typo’d ‘this’ as ‘thaosdfjati’. And I vowed on the spot that I was going to use Thaos D’jati as an OC name forever, and I do, I have one OC in p much every game with that name.

And I was intending to name my Watcher that to carry on tradition.
