The Warning - S!ck

The Warning are an all female alternative rock trio from Monterrey, Mexico. S!ck is their brand new single, which was released on the 2nd February 2024, it's previously unreleased and not been featured on any album yet!

They are comprised of three sisters, Daniela "Dany" (vocals,guitars and piano), Paulina "Pau" (drums, vocals and piano) and Alejandra "Ale" Villarreal (bass, piano, and backing vocals). They are touring Europe in Abril 2024, check the dates and venues below.

Academy voters had essentially two choices for best picture of 2014, not that there weren't six other nominees, two of them, The Grand Budapest Hotel (Wes Anderson) and Whiplash (Damien Chazelle), quite worthy of the honor. But Birdman (Alejandro González Iñárritu) and Boyhood were the front-runners, in large part because they took great risks. In addition to an often surreal approach to its subject matter, Birdman was filmed to give the illusion that most of it was one continuous take -- even though the narrative was not necessarily continuous. And Boyhood was filmed over the course of 12 years, as its protagonist, Mason (Ellar Coltrane), went from the age of 6 to 18 years old. Faced with two such groundbreaking but inimitable films, the Academy chose poorly: It went for the flashy technique of Birdman instead of the profoundly revealing story of the pressures a child faces in the process of growing up. But it's not just Mason's story, it's also that of his mother (Patricia Arquette), his sister (Lorelei Linklater), and his father (Ethan Hawke). Arquette deservedly won a supporting actress Oscar, but Hawke (who was nominated) also demonstrated the remarkable ability to adapt his persona over the extended filming time. The divorced parents face pressures, too: the mother the more immediate one of becoming a single parent and then making disastrously wrong choices as she remarries, the father the long-term one of remaining a presence in the lives of his children. He seems to have it easier than his ex-wife does, but every time Hawke re-appears in the film, he beautifully communicates the sense of having lost something precious. Like his son, he grows, shedding his fecklessness and irresponsibility, just as Mason learns to sift through the continuous barrage of advice from adults and find the wisdom to become his own person. I don't know of any film that so tenderly presents what the quotidian is like, without resorting to melodramatic crisis at its turning points. The only other films I can even compare it to are François Truffaut's The 400 Blows (1959) and Satyajit Ray's Aparajito (1956), which take place in harsher milieus than the Texas towns and cities in which Linklater sets Boyhood. But even though that world is milder and more familiar than the places in France and India where Truffaut and Ray set their films, Boyhood reveals how the world shapes us -- or as Linklater puts it at the end of his film, "the moment seizes us" -- as well as those films do. I think it's a treasure that belongs in their august company.

LeMisha Grinstead is born (on June 10, 1978) in Houston. She will become part of a platinum-selling vocal girl group, "702." The group will originally be a quartet featuring the Grinstead sisters, which included identical twins Irish and Orish, she and Amelia Childs whom they will debut as featured artists on Subway's hit single "This Lil' Game We Play." Amelia and Orish will be briefly replaced by classmates Tiffany Villarreal and Kameelah Williams. Six months before their debut single will be released, Tiffany would depart the group. Continuing as a trio, they will release their debut single "Steelo" with great success. Their first released album, "No Doubt", will sell 500,000 copies in the US. The trio will release the most famous 702 songs called "Where My Girls At?" on the album "702" which will gain a high level of success for the group, selling 1,000,000 copies in the US. For undisclosed conflicting personal reasons with the record label, Kameelah Williams distanced herself from the Grinstead sisters after the release of that album and will be replaced by Cree La'More, a solo singer Irish and she picked to join the group. The new line-up will release a single called "Pootie Tangin" for the Pootie Tang soundtrack, though shortly after this, Kameelah Williams will return to the group, and for undisclosed reasons, Cree La'More will leave the ensemble. First of all thank you for asking about them this has made my day anon :) I write of my ocs as like a weird little family chronicle and that Percy exists as part of like the second gen of the story? My guys start out in 1918 just after the celebrations of world war i, there's sort of four main characters of the 1920s who form the base of the interconnecting relationships of everyone, so i'll give brief sort of rundowns here below the cut

Percy's parents, respectively are Ernest Andrew Ulysses Wentworth and Princess Vera Pavlovna Solovoyna, they met in Russia after Andrew travelled to Russia prior to his service in world war I where she was mysteriously found at a train station and he offered to take her to France, where her parents had successfully escaped to during the Russian Revolution and subsequent Civil War, they happened to fall in love during that trip and married in 1919, having Percy barely a year later. Andrew's a prolific poet, writer, and actor but the racism of the 1920s unfortunately prevented much of a career in Hollywood. Vera, previously a noblewoman, was mostly a homemaker, but was a copyist for her husband and did like the stage, and the wild parties of his friends. Vera's not one of the core four, but she is an important figure in the narrative as Percy's mother. and for other reasons...

Sadly, both of Percy's parents would die before his 18th birthday, his mother died in childbirth in 1924 having his younger sister, and Andrew was killed in West Hollywood in 1932. As a result, he was primarily raised by his mother's parents.

Minette, full name Henrietta Chun Florence Tempest Kelley nee Holiday, Percy's godmother and aunt by marriage is one of my absolute favourites, she's a deeply hedonistic and flamboyant flapper and heiress who drinks way too much champagne, has countless affairs with various actors intellectuals and prominent figures of the 1920s and cannot for the life of her drive her Rolls Royce correctly.

Dr Ambrose Apollo Tempest-Kelley, Percy's godfather and uncle by marriage, is a gynaecologist-obstetrician (also sexologist), he's a charming whore, but has a lot of views that are ahead of his time in terms of birth control and views on sexuality and trans people. He's also the bastard child of a catholic priest insanely.

After Vera died, Andrew married Ambrose's sister Violet, pictured, a local schoolteacher and former nurse in world war i, also a whole ass byronic heroine;

and so the four became all affiliated by either marriage or status of in laws, also a thing I wanted to add was that Henrietta and Ambrose, because they were brought together by being Percy's godparents had him as the ring bearer at their wedding :)

Also part of Percy's life is his first (left) and second (right) wife, Mabel Verde and Mimi Villarreal. Mabel was a childhood sweetheart who he met at a playground in 1929 when he was nine and she was eight and they married just prior to the war breaking out... it ended badly though, for reaosns i'll explain later probably. His second wife Mimi is a WHOLE can of worms in of herself but i'll mention briefly she lived in occupied france during world war ii, was a press assistant at percy's office and studied to be an attorney, like a 1950s Elle Woods.

There's a lot of other characters as well like percy's sisters, a couple of his friends like Frederick whom he met in a pow camp in the 1940s, and the lives of the elder four's parents that i have spent like countless hours researching the complicated history of, but like there's some quick information :)

The incident occurred in the northeastern coastal town of Ciudad Madero in the Tamaulipas state on Sunday. Working under floodlights, military personnel supported emergency services using rescue dogs and earthmoving equipment to identify and dig out survivors from the ruins of the church. “Unfortunately, 10 people are confirmed dead. Of these, five are women, two men and three children,” Americo Villarreal, governor of Tamaulipas, told reporters at the scene. Rescue workers were attempting to recover the body of a woman from the rubble, but the death toll was not expected to rise as all of the missing had been accounted for, he added. At least 60 people were treated for injuries, Villarreal said, with 23 were still in hospital, Reuters reports. “Two have serious injuries, their lives may be in danger,” he added. Jose Armando Alvarez, the bishop of the local diocese, said in a video posted on social media that “the roof of a church has collapsed during the celebration of the Eucharist”. Several ambulances, patrol cars, and police and military personnel were at the site, in addition to numerous people in search of family members who were in the church. Local media showed footage of dozens of people trying to hold up part of the collapsed structure with poles while others made their way through the wreckage in search of survivors. Rescuers could be seen raising their fists in the air as a call for silence so they might hear any calls for help coming from people stuck under the wreckage. The Archdiocese of Mexico posted a message on social media offering condolences. “We join in prayer with our sister diocese Tampico to intercede for our killed and injured brothers,” it said. Manchester City lineup Oscar Gloukh as Bernardo Silva replacement According to reports, Manchester City, along with Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur, have expressed interest in signing Oscar Gloukh from Red Bull Salzburg.  The midfielder has played a significant role in Israel's Under-21 team, contributing to their progression to the semi-finals of the current European Under-21 Championships.  Gloukh provided assists for both of Israel's goals in the group stage, helping them advance with four points. He then scored the decisive penalty in the quarter-final shootout against Georgia.  This impressive performance has attracted the attention of several clubs, including Manchester City, who will have another opportunity to observe Gloukh as Israel faces England in their upcoming match. It is noteworthy that Gloukh recently joined Salzburg from Maccabi Tel-Aviv in January. The Guardian has reported these developments.
