"Electric Fan (Feel it Motherfuckers): Only Unclaimed Item from the Stephen Earabino Estate" (1997 - John Boskovich) / "Untitled" (Portrait of Ross in L.A.)" (1991 - Félix González-Torres)
ELECTRIC FAN (FEEL IT MOTHERFUCKERS): it makes me literally insane that’s all that’s left of him and he made sure it would stay remembered, something something the last trace of a breath immortalized the only way it could be. Feel it, motherfuckers. (courfeyracs-swordcane) (also submitted by callixton and weeweewhirlwind)
UNTITLED (PORTRAIT OF ROSS IN L.A.): It fucks me up SO MUCH. The artist's partner was named Ross, and died of AIDS in the same year this was created. The ideal weight is roughly the average of an adult man. The allegory there... people taking the candy, decreasing the weight, the same way people took away from Ross and every other victim of the AIDS crisis by refusing to help, to do anything at all. Except this has an "endless supply" of candy. People can take and take and it keeps coming back. They can't get rid of us forever. We will prevail and we will rebuild and I WILL be fucked up about this forever (ceaseless-rambler)
("Electric Fan (Feel It Motherfuckers): Only Unclaimed Item from the Stephen Earabino Estate" is an electric fan encased in plexiglass with vinyl faux etching and a plexiglass base with casters by gay American artist John Boskovich--Stephen Earanbino's partner. It was the last item left in Stephen Earabino's estate after his death by AIDS and measures 56 7/8 x 22 3/4 x 12 1/2 in. (144.5 x 57.8 x 31.8 cm). It is held by The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
"Untitled (Portrait of Ross in LA)" is a modern art installation consisting of wrapped candies (constantly removed and replaced) by gay Cuban-American artist Félix González-Torres after the death of his partner, Ross, by AIDS. The weight is equivalent to a healthy human male - approximately 175 lbs (79kg). It is located at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago.)

ooooh for the ao3 tag prompts “best friends (who kiss sometimes or whatever)” or “so much gay panic that they just end up helplessly pining for each other” if u want 😘💖
this is uh. kind of both ??
it always happens on nights like this.
it started on a night like this, months ago by now, and when eddie lets himself think about it, he worries it’ll end on a night like this, too. that it’ll end when a night like this comes around and buck goes home alone, no longer bothered with him—or worse, when buck goes home with someone else.
but no matter which way it’s going to end, it won’t be tonight. because the vinyl of the bar booth is sticky against his back and buck is pressed against his side, ankle hooked around his, and every time buck looks at him eddie can see it in his eyes.
hen and chimney sit across from them—chimney halfway through telling some elaborate story, hen laughing just a little too loud when he hits a funny part—but it’s like buck’s forgotten about them. like buck’s forgotten that whatever this is, they don’t do it in public—only behind the closed doors of eddie’s house, only when they’re safely wrapped in the soft haze of a couple of beers, just enough to be leaned on in the name of plausible deniability.
even though eddie’s pretty sure plausible deniability went out the window months ago.
buck leans in, although with how close they’re sitting all he really has to do is turn his head. his mouth lands on eddie’s throat, above his collarbone just next to the collar of his shirt, and he has to fake a yawn to hide the way his breath hitches.
“buck,” he hisses, finding buck’s thigh and squeezing it in warning. not here.
“fine,” buck says, just a hint of a whine in his tone. “then can we get out of here?”
eddie glances across the table, but hen is so engrossed in chimney’s story that he doubts they’d notice even if he tried to make some kind of excuse. so he just squeezes buck’s thigh again, nodding slightly, and they slide out of the booth as quietly as possible.
buck orders an uber, and they stand close together as they wait, huddled against the slight chill of los angeles in january sometime after midnight. buck tries to slip his hand into eddie’s but he pulls back, almost instinctive in the way he shoves his hands into his pockets.
when they get home, eddie turns to buck the moment the front door closes behind them. he puts his hands on buck’s hips and walks him to the closest wall, letting his hands slide under buck’s jacket and up to his waist as he leans in to kiss buck, slow at first and then frantic as buck starts kissing back.
buck’s hand cups his jaw and something loosens in him, settles, like parts of him are slotting into place. it’s always like this, like he’s the most himself he’s ever been when he’s touching buck.
he pulls back just a fraction of an inch, leans his forehead against buck’s and presses quick kisses to his cheekbone, his jaw, the corner of his mouth. “i’ve been wanting to do this all night,” he says, and buck stiffens beneath his touch.
“then why didn’t you?” buck asks.
eddie blinks. “we don’t do that,” he says, even though he knows it’s not a real answer. it’s all he has.
“we could, though,” buck says. “it’s not like hen or chimney would have cared.”
“yeah, but—” eddie starts, and he can’t understand why buck doesn’t seem to get it. “this isn’t—we’re not—”
“not what, eddie?” buck asks. “not making out like teenagers every chance we get?”
“no, i mean—” eddie says, and rubs at the bridge of his nose. he takes a step back, and doesn’t miss the way buck steps to the side, creating even more distance between them. “we’re not—gay,” eddie says. “not really.”
buck scoffs, and the sound is—hollow, somehow, in a way that sticks between eddie’s ribs like tar and makes it hard to breathe. “right,” buck says, in an awfully empty voice. “you keep telling yourself that.”
and he turns around and leaves.
eddie’s not sure how much of it is his own volition and how much of it is an effect of his knees buckling, but by the time the echo of the door slamming shut dissipates, he’s sitting on the floor in the middle of his living room staring blankly at where buck was standing just moments ago.
he’d always known it was going to end on a night like this.

Why you should opt for best car wraps
Tumblr media
Choosing the best car wraps for your vehicle can significantly impact its appearance, protection, and even your personal or business branding. From enhancing aesthetics to providing an extra layer of defense against wear and tear, here are several compelling reasons why opting for the best car wraps in Los Angeles is a wise choice.
Aesthetics and Customization: Car wraps offer unparalleled customization, allowing you to transform your vehicle's appearance to match your personal style or business branding. With a wide range of colors, finishes, and textures, you can achieve a unique look that sets your vehicle apart.
Protection for Your Vehicle: The best car wraps enhance your vehicle's visual appeal and provide a protective layer against scratches, chips, and UV damage. The vinyl material used in car wraps is a barrier, shielding your car's paintwork from the elements and preserving its pristine condition.
Cost-Effective Alternative to Repainting: Repainting a vehicle can be expensive and time-consuming. In contrast, car wraps offer a cost-effective alternative that allows you to change the color or design of your vehicle without the hassle of traditional painting methods. Additionally, car wraps can be easily removed, making them ideal for lease vehicles or those looking to preserve the original paintwork.
Advertising and Branding Opportunities: Car wraps serve as a mobile advertising platform for businesses, allowing them to showcase their brand messages wherever they go. Whether a small local business or a large corporation, a well-designed car wrap can promote your products or services and increase brand visibility.
Versatility and Versatility: Car wraps can be applied to virtually any vehicle, including cars, trucks, vans, and boats. This versatility opens up a world of possibilities for personalization and branding, making car wraps suitable for individuals, businesses, and organizations alike.
Temporary or Semi-Permanent Options: Unlike permanent paint jobs, car wraps offer the flexibility of being temporary or semi-permanent. If you're looking for a temporary change or promotional campaign, temporary vinyl wraps allow you to make a statement without committing to a long-term alteration. On the other hand, if you prefer a more permanent solution, high-quality vinyl wraps can last several years with proper care and maintenance.
Resale Value Preservation: Installing the best car wraps  can actually help preserve your vehicle's resale value by protecting the original paintwork underneath. When it comes time to sell or trade-in your vehicle, having a well-maintained paint job can significantly affect its perceived value and appeal to potential buyers.
Easy Maintenance and Repair: Maintaining a car wrap is simpler than caring for a painted finish. Regular washing with mild soap and water is usually required to keep your wrap fresh and vibrant. Individual wrap sections can be easily replaced without extensive repainting in minor damage, such as scratches or tears.
Furthermore, the installation process for car wraps is relatively quick and non-invasive, minimizing downtime and allowing you to get back on the road sooner. Professional installers ensure a seamless application, eliminating air bubbles and ensuring a smooth, flawless finish. Many premium car wrap materials also come with warranties, providing peace of mind and quality assurance. With advancements in technology and materials, the best car wraps offer durability, versatility, and visual impact that traditional paint jobs can't match. Ultimately, choosing the best car wrap is a smart investment that enhances your vehicle's appearance and functionality.
In conclusion,
opting for the best car wraps from Magic Wrapz offers many benefits, including enhanced aesthetics, protection for your vehicle, branding opportunities, and cost-effectiveness. Whether you're looking to personalize your ride or promote your business, investing in high-quality and the best car wraps in Los Angeles is a decision that's sure to pay off in the long run.

ABOUT OLIVIA RODRIGO:   Hailed by The New York Times as “a songwriter of rather astonishing purity,” Olivia Rodrigo took up piano at age seven and began crafting her own lyrics at 12. Featuring her 5x Platinum breakthrough single “drivers license,” SOURmade history as the longest-running debut album on the Billboard 200 top 10 this century, landed at No. 1 on Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Albums of 2021 list, and earned Rodrigo three GRAMMY® awards.   At 20, she released her highly anticipated second album GUTS – a body of work that magnified the raw power of her genre-bending sound while delving deeper into her vast and vivid inner world. Recorded with SOUR producer Daniel Nigro, GUTS was praised as an “instant classic” by Rolling Stone and a “masterpiece” by the Los Angeles Times. Lead single “vampire” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and returned to the top spot in September 2023 – coinciding with the No. 1 debut of GUTS on the Billboard 200 and Olivia on the Artist 100, thereby giving Rodrigo a chart triple. The tour continues Saturday night in Phoenix, AZ at Footprint Arena before making its way across North America, Europe, and UK, with stops in Miami, Toronto, New York, London, Manchester, Glasgow and more before wrapping in August with four massive shows in Los Angles at the Kia Forum. The Breeders, PinkPantheress, Chappell Roan, and Remi Wolf will join on select dates across the tour. See tour dates HERE. ABOUT NOAH KAHAN: Over the past year, GRAMMY®-nominated Vermont singer & songwriter Noah Kahan has exploded from his New England roots into the global mainstream and has been touted as one of this year’s biggest and best new artists. At the core of his music are vulnerable lyrics and an unfiltered yet relatable honesty, as the critically acclaimed artist pens songs straight from the heart and cracks jokes with his signature, self-deprecating sense of humor.    Across his three albums and an EP, Kahan has garnered global renown for his singular mix of Folk, Americana, and Rock, landing more than five billion streams, a Double Platinum Certification for his hit single “Stick… https://chorus.fm/news/noah-kahan-and-olivia-rodrigo-announce-rsd-7/

Artist Research - Barbara Kruger
Tumblr media
Life -
Barbara Kruger was born in 1945 in Newark, New Jersey. Kruger briefly attended Syracuse University, then Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she studied with artists and photographers Marvin Israel and Diane Arbus. Kruger worked in graphic design for Condé Nast Publications at Mademoiselle magazine, and was promoted to head designer within a year, at the age of twenty-two. Kruger has described her time in graphic design as “the biggest influence on my work…[it] became, with a few adjustments, my ‘work’ as an artist.”
At the beginning of her art career, Kruger reportedly felt intimidated by entering New York galleries due to the prevailing atmosphere of the art scene which, to her, did not welcome "particularly independent, non-masochistic women". However, she received early support for her projects from groups such as the Public Art Fund, which encouraged her to continue making art.[16] She switched to her modern practice of collage in the early 1980s.
Kruger lives and works in New York and Los Angeles. She is an Emerita Distinguished Professor of New Genres at the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture. In 2021, Kruger was included in Time magazine's annual list of the 100 Most Influential People.
Kruger taught at the University of California’s Berkeley, San Diego, and Los Angeles campuses. Solo exhibitions of her work were organized by the Institute of Contemporary Arts (1983), London; the Museum of Contemporary Art (1999), Los Angeles; the Moderna Museet (2008), Stockholm; the National Gallery of Art (2016), Washington, D.C.; and the Art Institute of Chicago (2021). She participated in the Venice Biennale in 1982 and 2005 and received the Leone d’Oro for lifetime achievement at the latter. Kruger’s work appears in the permanent collections of several major museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art, both in New York City.
Tumblr media
Work -
In the early 1970s, Kruger started showing artwork in galleries in New York. At the time, she was mainly working in weaving and painting. However, she felt that her artwork lacked meaning, and in 1976, she quit creating art entirely for a year. She took a series of teaching positions, including at University of California, Berkeley. When she began making art again in 1977, she had moved away from her earlier style into photo and text collages. In 1979, Kruger developed her signature style using large-scale black-and-white images overlaid with text. She repurposed found images, juxtaposing them with short, pithy phrases printed in Futura Bold or Helvetica Extra Bold typeface in black, white, or red text bars. In addition to creating text and photographic works, Kruger has produced video and audio works, written criticism, taught classes, curated exhibitions, designed products, such as T-shirts and mugs, and developed public projects, such as billboards, bus wraps, and architectural interventions.
Kruger addresses media and politics in their native tongue: sensational, authoritative, and direct. Personal pronouns like “you” and “I” are staples of Kruger’s practice, bringing the viewer into each piece. “Direct address has motored my work from the very beginning,” Kruger said. “I like it because it cuts through the grease.” Kruger’s work prompts us to interrogate our own positions; in the artist’s words, “to question and change the systems that contain us.” She demands that we consider how our identities are formed within culture, through representation in language and image.
While Kruger often produced her work on vinyl, she also made everyday objects and increasingly large-scale installations. In 1990 her work Untitled (I Shop Therefore I Am) (1987) appeared on shopping bags, while Untitled (Questions), a three-story mural resembling the U.S. flag, was installed at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (later the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA). The mural featured nine questions, including “Who is beyond the law?,” “Who does the time?,” and “Who salutes the longest?” The provocative yet abstract questions remained relevant when the mural was reinstalled in 2018–20 as the United States reckoned with protests over racial injustice and heightened political divisions.

Window Graphics for Long Beach, CA Businesses Are a Low-Cost Advertising Solution!
Integrative Sports and Spine operates four clinics across the Southland. There, skilled practitioners assist patients with physical exams, lumbar sympathetic blocks, stem cell therapy, and a wide variety of other treatment approaches. These modalities combine to relieve neck, knee, shoulder, elbow, hip, feet, and ankle injuries. When the company’s management team contacted Superior Signs and Graphics, it requested window graphics for two locations, since they are a low-cost advertising solution that has an immediate impact. Let’s look at how window graphics for Long Beach CA businesses can make a big difference!
A Combination of Vinyl Products Creates a Compelling Look
Tumblr media
We traveled to the clinic at 2650 Elm Avenue in Long Beach for this project. There, the venue had several glass panels to work with. For this customized setup, our technicians used perforated vinyl and die-cut graphics and lettering.
We produced die-cut images in the clinic’s custom colors for the name and logo. You notice the green and blue lettering and logo elements. The therapists’ names are spelled out in white lettering. The combination is visually attractive and fits in perfectly with the white wall color on the sides and the visible landscaping.
Tumblr media
The door only features white lettering. It makes it easy to differentiate the glass of the entrance door from the window panels. For the other two window areas, our specialists designed perforated vinyl graphics. One panel spells out the treatment methods and areas of expertise the therapists bring to the table.
Another window panel shows two people jogging, which is the result most patients want to achieve. While it makes it impossible for those outside to see in, those inside the facility can still see outside. It is one of the properties that make perforated vinyl different from the standard material. That said, both types of vinyl are budget-friendly solutions for businesses.
Make a Big Impression on Prospective Customers with Inexpensive Ad Methods
Tumblr media
Window graphics for Long Beach, CA businesses are a low-cost advertising solution that benefits companies in all fields. Moreover, those business owners who have multiple facilities or branches appreciate the opportunity to advertise effectively with surfaces already available to them.
Because windows are now rarely used to display products, it makes sense to use them for presenting information instead. In this client’s case, the display focused on a menu of services, brand presentation, and advertising of the corporate personality. What else could you do with window graphics?
Window Wraps, Stand-Alone Graphics, and Appetizing Photos
Retailers like to use full or partial window wraps to introduce the brands they represent. It is a great way to bring in foot traffic. Service providers frequently like the idea of stand-alone graphics that underscore what they do. Adding these images is of particular importance when your corporate name does not clearly state what field you are in.
Restaurants prefer to feature full-color, high-definition photos of the dishes that are the most popular with their customers. These photos create the foot traffic that makes popular eateries stand out and leads to even more foot traffic. Consider displaying your signature dishes or the product you want to be known for.
When you are ready to explore how to turn inexpensive vinyl into highly-effective marketing and branding materials, connect with our sign shop. Superior Signs and Graphics serves the business communities in and around Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

Roy ayers albums ranked
Tumblr media
Further, Nielsen findings suggest that as a demographic these listeners serve as a worthwhile target for upscale brand marketing. In 2015, those album sales comprised 46% of jazz music consumption, an indication of a willingness to pay not found in other genres. While jazz listeners make up a relatively small part of the overall music consumption audience, Nielsen research shows that most of that is attributable to physical copy sales. Though nobody expects Ayers’ Lifeline to do Kind Of Blue numbers, the market this reissue caters to is known as one that pays for music. Reissued and kept in print by Sony Legacy, the 1959 jazz classic was the tenth bestselling vinyl album of 2016, shifting some 26,000 copies last years and tens of thousands in prior years. The latter record has been a staple of that particular chart, spending some 121 nonconsecutive weeks there. In recent years, Billboard’s Vinyl Albums chart has featured wax reissues of John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme and Miles Davis’ eternally popular Kind Of Blue. New jazz releases rarely count as moneymakers these days, yet reissue projects like this have the potential to do well, with deluxe editions, remastered recordings and new vinyl pressings appealing to collectors and new listeners alike. ( Lifeline collaborator Birdsong has a sample legacy of his own, with his 1979 track “Cola Bottle Baby” providing the musical foundation for Daft Punk’s “Harder Better Faster Stronger.”) Case in point, “Running Away” is responsible for tracks by A Tribe Called Quest, Common, and Big Daddy Kane. A favorite among beatmakers and producers, Ayers’ discography has served as an extensive sample source for numerous artists including Mary J. Bear is also scheduled to play Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury, Mich., June 23 through 26, and Seattle’s famed Capitol Hill Block Party on July 23.The pioneering vibraphonist oft-danceable fusion of jazz and funk proved popular not only in his 1970s and 1980s heyday, but had a profound influence on the R&B and hip-hop to come. After a performance at Smokin Grooves Festival in Los Angeles in mid-March, the Mahal tour kicks off April 29 in Cincinatti, Ohio, before wrapping up May 11 in Houston, Texas. tour in support of Mahal this summer, bookended by a handful of festival appearances. “To have them live on that record feels grounded, bringing a communal perspective to the table.” “I wanted to make a record that featured more musicians on it than any other record of mine,” Bear said in a release. Mahal follows Toro y Moi’s critically acclaimed 2019 album Outer Peace and features appearances from visual artist and musician Sofie Royer, Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Ruban Neilson, Neon Indian’s Alan Palomo and jazz duo the Mattson 2. “Online trends that border cringe start to feel overused.” It’s an atypical sonic palette for a song about becoming swept up in the confusions of day-to-day life - but Bear’s breezy, almost nonchalant mode of confronting these emotions feels more like an act of radical defiance, rather than one of apathetic resignation.įlashback: Tina Turner Covers Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson on Debut Solo Album “East Coast friends fill me in, I know you get the early scoop,” he sings. Over an ambling, velvety beat that evokes the easygoing acid-jazz grooves of funk powerhouse Roy Ayers, Bear laments the mundane anxieties of 21st century living. Ayers began his career as a post-bop jazz artist, releasing several albums with Atlantic Records, before his tenure at Polydor Records beginning in the 1970s, during which he helped pioneer jazz-funk with his band Roy Ayers Ubiquity. The lighthearted video accompanying the song, directed by Brendan Nakahara, pays homage to Bear’s adopted hometown, displaying ample footage of San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate and Bay Bridges interspersed with clips of the musician and a group of friends skateboarding, riding in GoCars and grabbing dinner at Oakland hotspot FOB Kitchen. Roy Ayers (September 10, 1940) is an American funk, soul, and jazz composer and vibraphone player. Toro y Moi, the musical project of songwriter and producer Chaz Bear, has released “The Loop,” the third single from the Bay Area-musician’s upcoming album, Mahal, out April 29 via Dead Oceans.

MSO Pays Homage to McLaren Speedtail Prototype
McLaren Special Operations (MSO) today unveils the ‘Albert’ Speedtail, a bespoke commission by North American McLaren retailer, McLaren Beverly Hills.
‘Albert’ is one of the final vehicles in the 106-car Speedtail production run and an homage to the first Speedtail attribute testing vehicle from 2018. Echoing the name of the 1992 McLaren F1 test mules, which were named after the Albert Drive premises in which the F1 was designed and built in Woking, England, the original MVY02 Speedtail prototype vehicle was christened ‘Albert’ as a respectful tribute to its three-seat predecessor.
The ‘Albert’ prototype vehicle was developed to validate the concept of the Speedtail’s central seat driving position, testing driver ergonomics and visibility and rear-view camera positions. Originally built with the front panels from a 720S, the ‘Albert’ prototype was the first Speedtail to be driven on public roads.
The exterior design ‘camouflage’ was achieved by a simple two-meter vinyl body wrap with design lines printed to represent the optimized airflow over the car. The ‘Albert’ Speedtail carries on this legacy, sporting one of the most complex paint themes ever completed by MSO.
The colors selected for the ‘Albert’ homage are Magnesium Silver – the color that the F1 road car was first shown in at the 1992 Monaco Grand Prix -and Ueno Grey, the color of the F1 GTR that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995. The full design treatment is closely based on the 2018 vinyl ‘camouflage’ wrap.
The new ‘Albert’ was built in the McLaren Production Centre (MPC) with a 1K gloss visual carbon fiber body. Due to the incredibly complex and detailed nature of the paintwork design, the MSO team completed test panels first to understand process feasibility and worked alongside the visualizer team to refine renders. In total, ‘Albert’ would require a 12-week post-build modification at MSO’s facility to reach completion; this included two week’s masking, six week’s painting and the remaining time to dry and reassemble the vehicle after spraying.
Referring to large scale print-outs of the renders, the livery masking was completed by two specialist paint technicians. This had to be completed on the built car, with wheels fitted, to ensure accurate cross-panel alignment of the design as it flows around the vehicle. In total, the masking of the livery required almost two kilometers of fine line-out tape to complete the initial design layout.
The six-week painting process required the car to be disassembled to ensure complete accuracy and flawless finish. The paint blend effect was located on the door applique’s outer body panels with the front painted in Ueno Grey and rear in Magnesium Silver. After the first paint application, all body panels were treated and refitted to ensure perfect alignment and only after this the final clearcoat was applied.
The ‘Albert’ Speedtail will make its public debut at Sunset GT, a luxury cars and coffee event hosted by O’Gara Beverly Hills, which takes place on Sunday 8th August 2021 in Sunset Plaza, Los Angeles, USA.
Based on the form of a teardrop, the most aerodynamically efficient shape found in nature, the Speedtail is the apotheosis of the streamlined hypercar, a three-seat Hyper-GT that became the third car in McLaren's Ultimate Series line-up. With its 1,070-horsepower hybrid powertrain, the Speedtail covers 112 meters per second when travelling at its top speed of 250mph/402kph, making it the fastest McLaren road car to date.
