OH I GET TO TALK ABOUT WORTHWHILE KIDS? HOOYEAH

TECHNICALLY speaking Worthwhile Kids was two stories: the parasite story and the coming-of-age story, and i’ve made art of mostly the parasite story so i’m gonna talk about that one..

The main story follows Aria Wewason and Anthony Jimenez! Anthony Jimenez is a 20 year old college kid studying near the Mont Blanc mountains in the Haute-Savoie department of France. He hangs around Aria Wewason, a 16 year old who loves photography who was orphaned a few years ago alongside her brother, Seth Wewason, 12, after their mother mysterious disappeared. Anthony felt a need to help Aria after being a similar situation, because just a month prior his fiance, Clarence Princess Ona, had disappeared too.

One day Anthony and Aria are sitting on top of Anthony’s apartment building while Aria attempts to take pictures of the Mont Blanc mountains, and she notices that a Supercell is rolling over. she takes a few pictures and Anthony pays no mind to it.

However ! The supercell is carrying a very special species -- the parasite species!

In Worthwhile Kids, the story goes that there’s an alien species that act similar to parasites/viruses, and their current goal is to become the ‘’ultimate species’’ at the top of the food chain; and technically speaking, they are VERY close to being an undefeatable predator, but something keeps humans at the top of the chain above them.

Four ‘’waves’’ of these parasites come to Earth:

- The First Wave is the first existence of this species. They are tiny microorganisms that has not evolved to sustain themselves on Earth. They generally attacked the elderly, children, and immunocompromised people, as they needed a host to survive and those specific people lacked the immune system strong enough to recognize them as a threat and kill them. However, to learn this, millions of the first waves had to die in the bodies for them to learn which type of humans were good hosts, and they lacked the ability to take control of the bodies due to little understanding of how their system worked!

The first wave did however ‘’strain’’ --- in their terms, this is when a single parasite asexually reproduces copies of itself that are only partially complete, and incubate them in the bodies of humans in hopes that as they develop they take on human DNA into their RNA. Thus, these parasites lay dormant in the human body as they evolve, and are long-term harmless ‘’researches’’. They were the first wave and went undetected.

- The Second Wave is the first wave of parasites to have ‘’instincts’’ and can think and exist with free will! They still need a host to exist on Earth, but with the strains of the first wave they are able to hide inside the body and act as a part, so the human immune system doesn’t attack them. 

They’re capable of controlling the nervous system, but not the brain. The Second Wave believe that to become the ultimate predator, they would have to wipe the existence of humans, so their only drive is to kill, reproduce, and rinse and repeat. They slowly degenerate the inside of humans and basically feed off them to exist. These parasites were however classified and a vaccine was created and they were quickly wiped out, so Second Waves are rare to find and are considered the ‘’extinct species’’ of parasites.

- Third Wave is where things get interesting --- Third Wave parasites evolved to be able to think, speak, and exist in free will. They are capable of understanding and learning, which allows them to adapt much faster than the previous waves that entirely relied on physical evolution to live. Third Waves figured out that killing off humans is not the answer, and went with another plan; to crossbreed their species together until humans and parasites are one singular species that would place them at the top.

To do this, the third waves learned to take control of a human host without killing the body, typically by snapping the brain stem and forming a nervous system connector with their body that creates a ‘’second brain’’ attaching the human brain and the nervous system back together; therefore, instead of the human brain immediatley sending signals to the body, the signals go through the parasite first and is distributed to their liking. This sends the host into a coma state, though third-waves typically also prey on the recently deceased.

Third Waves are also based on existing virsuses, like T. Gondii and Giardia Lamblia, and enter the body similar to those -- Soda and Muri are one example!

The goal of the Third Waves are to basically to reproduce with human species in an attempt to create a human-parasite child and see if that is a viable existence.

- Fourth Waves are the most recent parasites. Led by a parasite who took over a body named Alfornili, they deem Third Waves as a threat to their existence as they wish to create a new species from humans and parasite, and believe that the only way for parasites to win the game is to entirely take over the human population and basically turn the human race into host bodies for their existence, NOT to reproduce with them.

The story actually starts when Anthony ‘’finds’’ his fiance, Clarence, only to learn that Clarence was taken over by a parasite --- however, this parasite exhibits something special; most parasites do not connect with the parts of the brain and nervous system that allow them to feel emotion, but Clarence mistakengly somehow did not sever the connection and is now capable of feeling emotions and performing empathy, and no longer relies on the instincts of their species. There, they are hunted by the fourth waves because they want humans and parasites to co-exist, not to create an ultimate species, but to exist with one another side-by-side.

Aria also gets into the mix alongside her brother Seth when they learn they’re the first sucessful parasite-human crossbreed, their mother having been a parasite in a host body and their father having been entirely human. And the whole story is basically about the fight against the third and fourth waves and Aria, Seth, Anthony, and Clarence attempting to win the fight and let parasites exist among humans and learn that ultimately makes humans ‘’at the top of the food chain’’ --- which is their ability to love and care for another, to die for each other and to look after one another.

I'm so tired of media and society glamorizing eating disorders like it's the new trend. I'm begging you...please do not go down this road. It's trechorous and rocky and could potentially kill you. You know that size zero skirt you want to fit in so badly? You won't be able to wear it while you're laying in a hospital bed due to malnutrition... Yes. It's a dark and some what harsh comment. But it is true. You should not suffer just so you can be what society views as "perfect". You are perfect, and have been since the day you were born. You wear a size 16? You're fucking gorgeous, period. You wear a size 2? You're fucking gorgeous, period. Don't let unrealistic body types stress you out, don't starve or binge or take diet pills or laxatives just because you're stomach isn't as flat as the model you saw on that advertisement, don't obsess over your calorie intake, stop caring about the unhealthy food that you eat on occassion. Food is good for you!! Food in general is good. On a more scientific note to this, anorexia can cause low white blood cell count, resulting in a more fragile immune system. i got help from my brother to help unbrick my laptop. there were 500+ different kinds of adware on it and like three or four virsuses and to top it off the microsoft search function was using all of hhe processing power so it was running ridiculously slow. now its running great and i put an n64 emulator on it :)
