The Thousand Island Lake (or Qiandao Lake/千岛湖) in Shiding (石碇) is just a short one-hour drive away from Taipei city and a perfect day trip destination if you are looking for breathtaking landscapes, man-made lake with turquoise water, fresh air and rich tea culture. Taiwan is rich in natural hot springs (geothermal springs) that carry rejuvenating and therapeutic properties throughout the year. Just to name few: the closest one in Taipei - Beitou (北投溫泉), Jiaoxi (礁溪) in Yilan, Guanziling (關子嶺溫泉) in Tainan famous for its mud to treat skin allergies, rheumatism, and arthritis, and Zhaori (朝日溫泉) in Green Island - the most rare (one of the 3 in the World) underwater hot spring with salty water. The latter one is my favourite as it’s an open-air hot spring where you can look up at the sky, listen to the sound of the sea waves while unwinding your mind and body. . Тайвань богат геотермальными источниками, известными своими омолаживающими и лечебными свойствами. Благодаря естественному природному происхождению, источники доступны круглогодично. Самые ближайшие к Тайбэю - Бейтхоу (北投溫泉), чуть подальше - Цзяоси (礁溪) в Илане, еще дальше - Гуаньцзылин (關子嶺溫泉) в Тайнане c целебной грязью, рекомендованной для лечения кожной аллергии, ревматизма и артрита. Еще одни источники, расположенные на Зеленом острове (朝日溫泉), считаются уникальными, так как это один из трех источников с соленой водой в мире (остальные два в Японии и Италии). Taiwan population is ~24mln people and there are ~15mln officially registered motorcycles here! Although it rains quite often from June to October and the temperature can be as low as 14 °C December to February, scooters are still one of the most convenient mean of transportation. At the same tame, the government is committed to ban the sale of gas-powered motorcycles by 2035 as part of efforts to help combat air pollution, which encourages development of e-scooters a lot. . One of the must-see destinations in Taiwan is National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. It's erected in memory of Chiang Kai-shek - the Generalissimo, leader of the Chinese Nationalist Party (known as the Kuomintang, or KMT), president of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The guard change in the Memorial Hall happens every hour from 9am to 5pm. Completely worth seeing. . Одно из обязательных мест к посещению на Тайване - это Национальный мемориальный зал Чан Кайши. Taiwan used to be under Japanese colonial rule for 50 years, which explains one of the strongest mutual connections in the region. First things that come to my mind when I think about Japan is 日出之國 (the land of rising sun) and 櫻花 (oriental cherry blossom). The latter one was my photography dream, which came true this year. In Taiwan. Sakura is a symbol of spring and time of renewal. However, because the blooms are short-lived, they are also symbolic of the fleeting nature of life. .
