This is gonna be a long thing to explain.

Characters From Left to Right: Tigress from Kung fu panda, Vitaly from Madagascar 3, Morning Frost from once upon a witchlight (though he is squished in the back for scale), Shira from the ice age movies (who I force on two legs) and Diego from the ice age movies (who I also forced on two legs)

I’ve noticed a trend that in shows and movies I like or liked as a kid that if that show/movie had an anthro Tiger character there was a 100% chance said anthro tiger was my favorite character and I have no clue why 🧍‍♀️ I thought I would be silly to draw them together and as I started I realized that they kinda give silly dnd party so I shot them with the dnd ray (not tigress cause she’s perfect and not frost cause he’s already a dnd character 🧍‍♀️) and I ended up with this line up.

We have Tigress as a monk, Vitaly as a barbarian+bard multiclass, Shira as a Rouge+Fighter multiclass, Diego as a fighter, and Frost as the ONLY non-martial as his silly Sorcerer flavored to be like a mystic type deal.

The Autism demands I don’t stop drawing them until I explode so you’re gonna see a lot of them. I have no clue what their adventures will be other than indulging 6 year old me (and maybe fighting the bbeg Tony the tiger /j)

Jen Tortures Herself With Every Dreamworks Animated Movie Ever: Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

So despite how much I like the first two Madagascars, I've never seen this one. I do vividly remember the trailers for it though, and based on those trailers, I thought this was going to be an annoying waste of time back when it came out, so I skipped it. Suffice to say, I was (for the most part) wrong. Cause the Madagascar trilogy ends on a fairly high note!

We pick up with our squad of animals leaving Africa, this time finding themselves in Europe, where they're hunted down by the intense animal control Captain DuBois. To escape her wrath, they join up with a traveling circus, hoping to impress a promoter in order to finally get back to New York. Along the way, we have the group befriending (and in some cases falling in love) with the circus animals as they try to keep up the act that they are circus animals themselves.

So yeah, there's a lot going on here, and the movie is rapidly paced to accomodate it, but I think that actually works in this movie's favor? Like, the tone here is a lot sillier and more out there than the first two, but the way it pulls off its own inherent zaniness just... works somehow. The humor is over the top yet still maintains more or less the same level of quality the first two Madagascars had (though I can't say it surpasses them in any real reguard).

The characters here are all just as fun as usual. Alex is once again our focal point of the group, and I am a little disappointed that some of the other more minor characters, the Penguins in particular, aren't really left with anything too plot significant to do (granted their own spinoff movie was probably in the works by this point so I'll give it a pass). The new characters are also pretty fun, with the embittered tiger Vitaly who comes around to the group in the end, the spirited jaguar Gia who is just a delightful love interest for Alex, and the absolute sweetheart sea lion Stefano. They're all great additions to the cast and have great chemistry with our established animal crew.

But I think its safe to say the best part of this movie is its villain, Captain DuBois. This woman is CRAZY, man. She is so utterly unhinged, so delightfully devious, and the way they animate her is so fucking funny. She had me cracking up every second she was on screen, like damn give this woman an award for most underrated Dreamworks villain or something. She deserves it.

The animation here is surprisingly beautiful. Like there are some scenes in this movie, particularly the circus performance scene, that were just a FEAST to the eyes. I dare say this is one of Dreamworks' prettiest movies I've seen in the watch so far. Yeah, I know, a Madagascar movie, of all things. But it's true! The colors just pop, the movements of the camera and the characters are so sweeping and refined, the score... is kind of forgettable, but visually, this movie is great.

When it comes to it's predecessors, I can't say I like this more than the first two. It lacks a good bit of heart that they had, and its humor does skew just a bit more juvenile than the first two. But when it shines, it really shines, and I'm really surprised at how much I ended up liking it! Turns out, you really can't judge a book by its cover, or a movie by its... rather poorly made trailer.

Overall Rating: 7/10

Verdict: Get mounted on DuBois' wall

A Proposed Darkwing Duck Celebrity Voice Cast

Part 3: Agents of S.H.U.S.H

Progressing through our voice cast, we now have the organization that Darkwing Duck works for, the spy agency known as S.H.U.S.H! It is a super elite and highly classified in the art of stealth, so our choice of actors should somewhat reflect that, whilst also having a sense of absurdity and quirks to their personalities!

Gary Oldman as J. Gander Hooter

First up is the main man of the headquarters and director of the organization J. Gander Hoooter! Professionalism is often the case with running a whole agency, and Hooter really represents this notion of a wise yet stern leader. We need an actor that has a great sense of wisdom as a leader, and also a sense of professionalism that will make him a combination of poised but also serious. Gary Oldman (Kung Fu Panda, The Dark Knight) is a pretty flexible actor in this area, being able to both keep a sense of professionalism and having a serious aura, but also a great deal of wisdom for an old man with a great amount of experience as well.

I imagine Lord Shen's voice from Kung Fu Panda is the closest sounding to Hooter despite him being a villain. (Kung Fu Panda 2, 2011)

Bryan Cranston as Vladimir Gryzlikoff

Next up is S.H.U.S.H's top agent, and a sort of bitter rival to Darkwing Duck, Ageng Gryzlikoff. Much like his species, Gryzlikoff is quite a ferocious, threatning, yet serious agent, always doing things by the book and is never a fan of incompetence in his fellow workers. Because of his Russian accent, it could be very difficult to find a celebrity that can perform an accent as strong without being too silly. However, there is one beloved American actor who has performed a Russian accent in his filmography and fits the character perfectly. I believe Walter White himself, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Madagascar 3, Isle of Dogs, Malcolm in the Middle) captures the cold and calculated sternness that Grizlikoff needs. And with his role as Vitaly the tiger from Madagascar 3, he can perform the Russian accent quite well!

Just the intimidating tone that fits a bear like Gryzlikoff! (Breaking Bad, 2008-2013)

Margot Robbie as Sarah Bellum

The next agent we are covering is the head of the research division, and it is none other than Sarah Bellum!! She is by far the cookiest member of the division, having a great amount of knowledge in inventing and experimenting but also is shown to have no regard of professional ethics, and is rather imbecillic at the same time. We need an actress that is rather crazy by nature, but can also channel a seemingly normal and sane person. That's why Margot Robbie (Birds of Prey, Barbie, The Wolf of Wall Street) would be the best choice. She has the cooky side of her in roles like Harley Quinn, and can also somewhat maintain a normal sounding voice as well that can work well as a contrast!!

Charlize Theron as Femme Appeal

And rounding out this chapter, we have a more than surprising addition!! Only appearing in the comics, we have one of the most trusted agents of S.H.U.S.H in the form of Femme Appeal! She is a usually a very calm and collected agent, but has her moments of lashing out with her allies, and especially when it comes to children, which is her weakness. Since she never had a voice ever, we can be pretty flexible with our choices for actresses. I think the best choice for this foxy agent would be Charlize Theron (Kubo and the Two Strings, The Addams Family, Mad Max: Fury Road). She has that seductive voice that the character's namesake would imply, but she also has an air of seriousness about her that we need for an agent.

By: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - The rampant rumors of the return of the Hartford Whalers following the defeat of the arena proposal in Tempe, Arizona has just one salient point, money exists in Connecticut, primarily in Greenwich, the home of high finance. After that, there is nothing to suggest that there is even the faintest hope that NHL hockey is returning to Hartford. Listen to our long-time source, who wishes to remain anonymous. "While I think the fans, and the media, get suckered into this every time it surfaces, the only reality is the hedge fund money in the Greenwich area. They have the sort of money it would take to bring hockey to Connecticut. Still, Gary Bettman, the NHL commissioner, has shown zero interest that he wants to vacate Arizona, no matter how obvious it may seem. "Once you get past that, there are too many other negatives. There's no regional TV network, no new building in sight, the Boston Bruins, and the player pool is diluted now, are four I can name off the top of my head, and there are more. It's a pipe dream and fantasy. The politicians are looking to get their 15 minutes of fame." Outgoing Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and Governor Ned Lamont did themselves no favors by violating Bettman's primary rule of no public pronouncements. He dislikes owners-in-waiting, who are too loquacious. Former Quebec City Mayor Régis Labeaume (2007-2021) blew it by going public. They're still waiting to hear from the NHL. Relocation is a possibility, not a certainty, and given the owners and potential suitors who have tried to outwit the Commissioner are gone from the scene, i.e., original Coyotes owner Jerry Moyes and Jim Balisilie, the Blackberry founder who's bankrupt and gone. Yet Bettman is still here and in the NHL Hall of Fame. So if you're betting on this one, put all your chips on Bettman and no team in Hartford. PLAYER MOVEMENT Ex-Hartford Wolf Pack, Vitali Kravtsov, has left the Vancouver Canucks, where the New York Rangers sent the Russian after they traded him at the trade deadline for Will Lockwood. Kravtsov departed Vancouver and is headed back to Russia again after signing a deal with Traktor Chelyabinsk (Russia-KHL) for a third time. Jonathan Marchessault, the ex-Connecticut Whale, who the Rangers misevaluated the undrafted QMJHL free agent product they had signed. He scored 32 goals and led the team in his rookie pro year in Hart City. The thought was that he would only be an AHL player. Whoops? Tardif, Ranta, and Maier make 23 AHL'ers heading to Europe. PLAYERS MOVING AROUND The Islanders sign for next season Kyle MacLean to a one-year, two-way deal for $825,000K-NHL/$82,500K-AHL and Daylan Kuefler completing his junior career playing for Kamloops in the aforementioned Memorial Cup to a three-year ELC deal at $925K-NHL/$82,500K-AHL.Both players will likely be in Bridgeport in the fall. Roman Kinal, the former UCONN Captain, signs an extension with the AHL San Jose Barracuda. Alex Gagnon of Division III independent Albertus Magnus College (New Haven) becomes the 26th Division I or III player to head to Europe. He joins teammate Charlie Risk in going to Mont-Blance (France-FFHG Division-1). The Division I player conference pro signings breakdown is as follows; Hockey East-37, NCHC-36, CCHA-31, Big Ten-29, ECACHL-24, and AHA-20, NCAA Independent schools-13, and just one is transferring to the Canadian college school or university system. Division III is 31. Undergrads leaving school early are 37. In-school transfers, 47, and grad transfers, 38. Ex-CT Whale Kelsey Tessier retires from hockey as a champion after two years with the HC Rouen Dragons (France-FREL). The team won their 17th Magnus League title in the 100th year of French hockey. Sam Bitten, the younger brother of Will Bitten, will join his older brother in Springfield next year. He played with HC Plzeň (Pilsner)  this last season. He has played all of his pro career so far in Europe. CT HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY NEWS The CT high school hockey landscape was changed dramatically with the announcement that two of the Big Four, West Haven and Hamden, have downgraded their programs to Division-2 after 75 years as Division I powerhouses. West Haven went co-op last year with Seymour, Oxford, and Shelton and finished 3-17 with their only D1 win of the three they had was against an out-of-state opponent, St. Domenic (Auburn, Maine). The Hamden High Green Dragons, another part of the long-time unique high school hockey clique along with West Haven, Notre Dame-West Haven, and Fairfield Prep, were the Montreal Canadiens of high school hockey in the late 1960s through the 1970s into the late 1980s. Much like West Haven, they have had dwindling numbers after a sub-par season of their own with its three wins-two over West Haven and the other against Sheehan of Wallingford, have had just six coaches in the program's history. The local involvement in hockey, trying out for their teams, has not been good, and both towns' youth programs have begun admitting kids from neighboring towns over the last several years to pump up the numbers. So Hamden could be next in line in a few years. West Haven AD Joe Morrell Jr., who was the head coach for 21 years of the Blue Devils (one of six coaches in the program's history) after being an assistant coach at cross-town rival ND-WH for six years was matter-of-fact regarding this momentous decision. "It was a tough decision to make, a very tough pill to swallow. Put a lot of time coaching and playing for this program, we were in agreement-to be able to compete we had go to Division II. Some day we will be back at Division I." The current WH coach is Steve Harris, who played four years at ND-WH and a PG year at Gunnery (Prep) School (now Frederick Gunn School) (Washington) before playing Division III at Johnson and Wales (Rhode Island) and is set to remain was all in with the tough decision. MORE HIGH SCHOOL NEWS A far cry from 30 years ago, when Connecticut held the Connecticut Classic at Ingalls Rink at Yale against Massachusetts schools. The West Haven Blue Devils won its last title in 1994, and then WH head coach Art DeLucia forecasted the program's decline when he saw the youth numbers then and stepped aside. He told this reporter then, 'We graduated the smartest championship team academically ever and likely the last WH school championship.' It led to the West Haven AD, the late Tom Hunt, with DeLucia's resignation letter in his back pocket trying to back door in, now out of high school hockey Steve McCarty, then the WH assistant coach, to become the head coach. Hunt ran afoul of the WH Board of Education, who requested an open process in the coach selection. That led to the three-year tenure of former New Haven Blades and Nighthawk player plus former NHL defenseman Gordie's Smith's tumultuous reign and conflicts with Hunt.
