What is the role of a chef in the Voltron cookbook?

Glad you asked! Chefs are the people who will be making up the recipes. Chefs will be paired with an artist and writer. When signing up we ask that you have an idea of what you want to make and who you want to work with so we don’t have duplicates.

What are the requirements for the application?

You need to at least have 3 characters in mind with accompanying recipes, and at least one example of a recipe you have created in the past. If you have not created any recipes as of yet, please mention your cooking experience!

Who can apply?

You don’t need to be a professional chef to apply! Anyone who loves creative cooking can be a chef.

Hello everyone - it’s been a while! We hope you’re all keeping well. While we have been responding to queries and sending out updates to buyers over Etsy, we have been neglecting our social media presence somewhat and for this we apologise. Below we have included some updates regarding zine orders, as well as the restocking of our store.

PDF Orders

All PDF orders (zines and cocktail cards) have been distributed to buyers using the email addresses associated with your Etsy orders. 

If you ordered a PDF zine or PDF cocktail cards and have not received them, please email us at vldcookbook@gmail.com with your order number, or contact us via Etsy. Be sure to check your spam folder first!

Outstanding Orders

We have just today sent out a detailed update regarding outstanding orders via Etsy messages. If you haven’t received the update message, please reach out to us at vldcookbook@gmail.com or using Etsy messages.

Store Restock

PDF Zines and PDF Cocktail Cards have returned to our Etsy store! The files have been uploaded to Etsy and are available for immediate download after payment. 

We do not currently have a date for when physical items, including bundles, will be restocked in the store. If you are interested in being notified when the store has been restocked with physical items, please fill out this form. We will of course share updates on social media too once we have a planned restock date for physical items.

Pre-Orders Have Closed!

We unfortunately didn’t reach either of our stretch goals, but we’re still very grateful for all of your support. Our giveaway is also closed to new entries - the winners will be contacted sometime within the next week about their prizes.

A limited number of items are still available in our store, however these listings won’t be renewed once they sell out.

Missed out on your chance to snag a copy? Thankfully, it’s not too late to order a PDF copy of the zine! To do so, make a donation of $15 (to receive the zine PDF), $3.50 (to receive the digital cocktail cards), or $18.50 (to receive both) to our chosen charity, Shelterbox, send proof of your donation (you can forward your donation confirmation email, or send a screenshot of the donation confirmation) to vldcookbook@gmail.com, and we’ll add you to the pre-order list.

Prefer something you can actually hold in your hands? Extras sales will open once all copies of the zines have been shipped. Register your interest here and we’ll email you with advance notice of extras sales opening.

Hi! So I turn 21 in September and I was wondering despite not being over legal drinking age right now, if I could still order the cocktail cards?

Hello anon,

Our full policy for those purchasing the cocktail cards (as specified on the product pages in our Etsy store) are as follows:

These recipe cards are not targeted towards, nor intended for use by, anyone under the legal drinking age as specified by their country. By purchasing these recipe cards, you represent and warrant that you are of age to purchase content involving alcoholic recipes. If you are under the legal age defined by your country, you may not purchase these recipe cards unless granted permission by a parent/guardian. You (or your parent/guardian) are solely responsible for ensuring that these Terms of Purchase are in compliance with all laws, rules and regulations applicable to you. Further, the recipe cards purchased are offered only for your use, and not for the use or benefit of any third party. The creative and production team behind this project will not be liable for any loss or damage as a result of personal misrepresentation at the time of your purchase.

Unfortunately we cannot make exceptions to the policy.

We may, however, be able to come to an arrangement around sending the cocktail cards to you once you have reached legal drinking age. We realise that would mean quite a long wait, but if it’s something you might be interested in please contact us off-anon, or by email (vldcookbook@gmail.com), and we can discuss the details.

We are absolutely floured by the applications we received — and hungry from some of the amazing recipe ideas. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to accept everyone, which is a shame, because there was so much experience to go around. To those who did get accepted, however, we can’t wait to see the wonderful work you’ll be bringing to the table. Let’s get this party started!
