Allereerst wil ik je danken voor de mooie uitvaart van mijn vader en alles daaromheen. Wij zijn je eigenlijk allemaal ontzettend dankbaar. Toen onze papa overleed heeft mijn zus Jan gebeld, en wat zijn we dankbaar voor de begeleiding van een deskundig en invoelend persoon als Jan! Jan is een baken van rust, die in een moeilijke en vermoeiende periode onze wensen feilloos en tijdig integreert in een samenhangend geheel. Daarnaast bouwt hij ook nog momenten van bezinning in, op het juiste moment. Zodat elke keuze uiteindelijk een weloverwogen keuze was. Daardoor heeft Jan ons een mooie en betekenisvolle uitvaart gegeven, passend bij onze wensen en achtergrond. Hij stond altijd voor ons klaar, en had oog voor ons allemaal.

Dank je wel, Jan! We wensen iedereen zo iemand als jou.

The Who in Voorburg, Netherlands, March 10 1973

This small castle is Huygens Hofwijck in Voorburg. It was the country house of poet Constantijn Huygens and later of his son the scientist Christiaan Huygens. If the weather is good, you have a nice reflection of the little castle in the water of the Vliet here. But because Voorburg is close to the coast, it is not often that it is windless here. And when it is a nice windless day, boats sail by all the time, creating a long-lasting ripple in the water. I took this photo on a summer evening in September. In the evening, the risk of passing boats is lower, but just at the moment suprême, a boat did pass by in the semi-darkness. After waiting for about 15 minutes, the ripples had finally subsided and I was able to take the photo. By cropping the photo square, the trees on the side provide a nice frame.
