Happy new year! 2018 definitely had it's peaks and it's valleys. I hit a few bumps in the road towards the end but bounced back. I didn't get to host as many #artshows as I would of liked but the shows I did were successful. I got a little publicity in #voyagechicago (link in bio if you want to read it). I stayed busy with a handful of commissions. Dadasoulface has a few things dropping throughout 2019. I'd say I had a decent year. The one thing I'm doing next year is setting goals. No resolutions just goals. Wrote them MFers down on a list and hung em up! 2019 is gonna be good. Here is my #2018bestnine of the year. Four of the nine are all @culturepower45 related images. Super big shout out to them !! Honored and humbled to be working with legends of Chicago's hip-hop scene. Shout out to all my patrons,fans,collaborators, and fellow artists out there. I am super proud of this sleeve. It started as just the upper arm scene. And then we added the wolf to finish off the half sleeve. The client, Walker, then wanted to go full sleeve with it, but he had an existing older wrist cuff piece by someone else that wasn’t going to fit in. He wanted a Montana lake scene with a cabin and camp fire. I knew it would be a challenge to create the scene and have it tie in seamlessly with the upper half we had already completed. I love that this whole project challenged me and made me really think about warm and cool color relationships and how to depict late day sun on objects in a way that was believable. Plus I got to tattoo a lens flare! ✨ We got this done just in time for Walker to move on to his next adventure in life. I don’t know if we will be able to work together again. But I hope this one brings him joy for many years to come! 🙏.
