stef + daniil
canet vs tsitsipas
(i know nothing about moto gp except what i see from you but canet looks like he’d beat stef in a fight)
stef + daniil - yes, i ship them (they're probably my favourite ship tbh) ! 🙈 I mean, how can you not ship them? i mean they did the biggest boyfriend move when losing both in RG one after another 😂
canet vs tsitsipas - that's an interesting one! but tbh: Aron looks more dangerous than he really is, he wouldn't hurt a fly (he is only sometimes over-motivated in the races) but I think a fight between them would be very funny: Aron is about 166 cm, Stef about 193 cm and I'm honestly not sure if either of them has any real experience in a proper fist fight. yeah, i have honestly no idea but i agree with you and say: Aron would win (but it wouldn't be a real fight)
thank you so so much!! i really loved it!! feel hugged 💚🤗
Give me two characters in my inbox for who would win a fight, who do i like better and for how I ship them

Defenders and Conflicting Styles
So Defenders dropped last week and of course I was an idiot and watched it all in one sitting at 3 AM. Kids don’t be me.
CUT FOR THE SPOILERS! (Although I’ll speak more in broad strokes.)
So yesterday’s post was about Character built conflicts, using the individual traits of each character to determine the smaller conflicts within a group. The reason Defenders is a good call for this example is that it has two examples of this at play. Although toward the end I’ll talk about this in play in a less... actiony, setting too.
So on the one side side we have the heroes, each having a different idea of how to handle this fight. And what is most important about winning this fight. Danny is in this space of a vengeful zealot. Too lost in his own issues to see what other pieces are in play. Like, for instance, not getting how staying out of the fight might be his best move. Luke meanwhile balances him by having a much smaller focus on what is happening to his home. Caring only as much as he can save Harlem.
On the other side we have Jessica who is bulldozing her way into this mess because someone told her to stay out of it. She cares because it got dropped on her doorstep and now she has to deal with it. And Matt who wants to run away because none of this is going to lead anywhere good. He’s trying not to fall back into old crime fighting habits, but he realizes he has to.
...and there’s a girl involved.
When all four of them are arguing together, each has their own characterization at the center of where they stand. Luke wants to help people (but doesn’t want to fight), Danny wants to destroy the hand, Matt wants his friends not to die, and Jessica wants answers. Once this is ‘big enough to kill everyone’ Jessica amscrays cause she’s not getting paid enough for this bullshit.
And on the other side, each of the five fingers of the Hand (except the one who dies unceremoniously before they all meet up) want their own endgame. Gao wants to ‘not do the stupid thing,’ Alexandra wants to expedite things to live, Bakuto wants to get back his protege, and Murakami wants to serve his duty to his family (unless they are doing the stupid thing). Their inner conflict is mostly everyone that isn’t Alexandra vs. her. But it’s still driven by her goals being COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
And that breeds conflict.
Now of course, you can do this sort of character build outside of action ‘fate of New York’ big picture things. I’m using The Fosters because everyone has some variation of “I want to do the right thing” but their definitions are all screwed up. Stef wants to snuff out crime against kids, Lena wants to protect her kids, Callie feels she owes it to every and any kid in the foster system, Brandon literally is weak to anyone with a ‘sad story’ and a pretty face. Mariana puts more focus on bigger issues, but she bulldozes into them on her own, and Jesus wants to do the least good... but God help you if you’re endangering his sister.
And provided they don’t go out of their way to make a plot bigger and meaner than it needs to be (CALLIE’S S4 PLOT) it works really well.
When it comes to Defenders, the bigger plot is all 100% in Alexandra’s control and character, but how everyone reacts is built on their own stories, and how to blend four very different shows into a single outing. Which if you look at what each show is separately from each other you realize how difficult that must’ve been to write.
ASIDE: Especially cause Iron Fist was... well, every definition of bad. It was a bad show. Not even the racist bits bad, just... overall bad.
To all my fellow writes out there, my bit of homework is watch S1 of each of these shows (Fosters included, at least Eps 1-10 of Fosters anyway) and see what was weaker and stronger in each show. It’ll help, trust me.
Or don’t. You don’t have to trust me, I’m fine with that.
