The second of two bin families I’ve moved into Veronaville (for now) is the Traveller’s who I’ve literally never played with before so it’ll be interesting to get to know them. Tina was at school so no picture of her.

Their welcome wagon was certainly a choice made by the game considering all three hate one another. Trent and Trisha kept them all distracted though - unlike Cyd, they probably heard a bit about the feud.

Summary: A Mercutio Monty character study. Often seen as the jokester who is second in line to the Monty throne, many don’t know what lurks beneath the surface.

Warning: Vague descriptions of death, SAAAAAD :(

Author’s Note: I really didn’t know if this one would be as sad as Tybalt’s but I think it is, oops! I’m also amazed at the fact that Mercutio’s character study and Tybalt’s are almost the exact same length, maybe give or take 5-10 words. While I feel like I’ve always “gotten” Tybalt, Mercutio was a bit more of a challenge but I feel like I really learned a lot about what I think of him through writing this 😁 Also if you have any one shot ideas (preferably VV/Tycutio) for me, feel free to send them! I’ve had so much fun with my current iterations of Tybalt and Mercutio (does that make me a sadist?) and I’m excited to see how they’ll interact with each other. 

There were a few important facts about Mercutio Monty. He spoke English and Italian fluently but mostly kept the Italian within the family. He wanted to master the electric guitar before the age of 25 and the acoustic guitar before 28. His favorite food was calamari with a spritz of lemon juice. All of the romantic poetry he’d written in his literature classes wasn’t actually about anyone but rather some cool bugs he’d seen outside of his house. He liked tall men and women of any height and liked it if both looked as if they could kick his ass. He’d only let his hair be as short as just beneath the chin and as long as his collarbone. And most importantly, he never wanted to be the Monty heir. 

He was fine with letting that responsibility fall onto his younger brother, Romeo, who seemed rather excited to one day lead the family. Mercutio, on the other hand, couldn’t imagine being tied to Veronaville for the rest of his life. He wanted to see what else was out there for him, past the rolling hills, dividing rivers, and the feud that hung over his hometown like a dark cloud. 

It would be impossible to talk about himself and his life without mentioning ‘the feud,’ as it was aptly yet uncreatively called. It started long before he was born, and much as he wanted to believe otherwise—it would likely continue on past his death. Mercutio never wanted any part in it, but it seems as though his pure existence as a member of the Monty family was enough to be involved. Of course, he would defend his family when insulted, but the entire thing was just stupid. 

It initially started generations ago over a geographical dispute; both families wanted to claim the lands by the river as their own. Clearly, it was never resolved because it only gave way to more violence and more death. The current iteration of the feud began with his Nonno and Consort Capp on the other side of town. What was interesting, though, was the fact Consort was not born a Capp. They were matriarchal on their side of town, and the feud started before Consort even married into the family. Supposedly, it was due to their shared business going under, but plot twist—Nonno was actually dating Contessa Capp, and Consort had stolen her from right under his nose. That’s not all, though, double plot twist! Consort and Nonno had actually been a thing before the entire thing with Contessa happened. Nobody else knew about this except for Mercutio and the eldest generation, of course. He really had no idea who he’d tell or if it was worth talking about at all. 

Even after this, though, there were ebbs and flows of the feud. The most peaceful the town had been in a long while had been during his childhood. There were no fights in the streets, no murmured threats, and even some positive interactions were had between the Montys and Capps. His parents often encouraged the latter, allowing their children to have playdates with the Capp children on occasion and rebuking Nonno and Nonna’s disapproval of it. His father had even been childhood friends with Cordelia Capp, the heiress before her untimely death. 

He recalled times on the playground as children, hitting each other with foam swords and playing pretend—as if they were the Capp and Monty heiress and heir, respectively, in 1600s Veronaville. 

Things had seemed to be on an upward path throughout his early years, with his father on the Monty side and Cordelia on the Capp side. Neither of them was interested in continuing the feud, and there were even talks of peace in the future. It all seemed too good to be true, and it turned out to be just that. There was a fire in their home, and the kids had managed to escape without any scratches somehow—but Cordelia and Caliban had not been so lucky. 

Mercutio was 12 years old when this happened, and he wanted to attend the funeral. He knew Cordelia and Caliban; they had never been anything but nice to him. He wanted to show his support and make sure that the Capp siblings were okay. His parents were both wrecks; leaving the house seemed nearly impossible for them. His Nonno yelled at him for even thinking of such a thing.

He wasn’t able to go to the funeral. 

There were whispers on the other side of town that the fire was deliberately caused by a member of the Monty family. Mercutio never wanted to imagine that someone he was related to was capable of something like that. Whether or not they were true, they had brought back the feud in full force. Friends he thought he’d made had become strangers again, and the town had become more divided than ever. 

It caused a particularly bad falling out, one that had yet to be topped. Childhood crushes should never be affected by adult problems, but the feud seemed to truly want to take over every aspect of his life. 

His parents were never quite the same after the fire. His mother was becoming heavily pregnant, but she was also growing sicker. She was bedridden most days and often in too much pain to even speak to Mercutio. There was a feeling of impending doom that hung over their home; they all knew that something bad was going to come eventually.

Mercutio found her. She was still in bed, but she no longer looked in pain. For the first time in months, she looked at peace, but he still had tried his hardest to wake her up. 

Olivia Monty had passed away during the night. The doctors said it was due to something called eclampsia, something she had never discussed with her children before. Everyone was too distraught to plan a proper funeral for her, especially his father. Mercutio did not know the man his father had become during his last 6 months of life. He was withdrawn, solemn, as if he had lost his will to live the day his wife had died.

Claudio Monty passed away exactly half a year after his wife. They called it broken heart syndrome—it seems even his body didn’t have much of a reason to go on either. Mercutio was lucky to have not been the one to find him, but he’ll never forget the wails of his grandmother as she begged for him to come back. 

The funeral was one for both his mother and father. There was no burial or casket, and his father had wanted to be cremated alongside his mother. He made that very clear before his death. It was a quiet affair inside his grandparent's home, and he’d chosen to block out most of his memories of it except for one. 

His nonno had pulled him aside as his brother and sister cried and cried. He’d told him that while he was taking them in now, he and Nonna would not be there forever. As the oldest, it was now Mercutio’s responsibility to look out for his younger siblings. He needed to guide them, to protect them, to lead them through the dark and uncertainty of what life would bring now.  

So Mercutio stood by them as they cried, his face unwavering as he tried to be the image of strength and resilience. Ever since that day, he had cried only maybe twice more in his life. His grandparents never seemed to be too concerned with his well-being, taking his positive attitude at face value. It was as if they had forgotten that Mercutio was the one to find his mother dead, not Romeo or Viola. 

Nonna would call him il mio raggio di sole, her ray of sunshine. She said their home wouldn’t be as bright without him, as he brought the light into what became a deeply dark period of time for them. It was at that very moment that Mercutio knew what he was born for. Romeo was born to be the heir, to become the leader of their family and take up that responsibility. Viola was born to be doted on, the youngest girl with two older brothers with a coy smile and a face identical to their mother’s.

Mercutio was born to keep everyone happy. He was born to pretend that he was fine, that if he could be nothing but jokes and laughter after such a tragedy—maybe the rest of the family could heal as well. But as with many things in Veronaville, it was all a facade.

More often than not, Mercutio couldn’t get the image of his deceased mother out of his head. He wanted to yell at the urns of his mother and father, asking just why they couldn’t hold on for their children. Why his mother couldn’t take better care of herself during her pregnancy, why his father couldn’t have found a will to live through his struggling kids, just why, why, why. 

He never spoke about his parents, not to anybody. He knew he’d fall apart if their names left his lips. He never wanted to be that vulnerable, he never wanted to cry, and he never wanted to show that side of him to anyone. 

Mercutio wrote love poems about bugs. He wrote a sonnet about an orchid mantis on the blooming flowers in their garden. A haiku about a ladybug that had made its way onto the dashboard of his car. A ballad about a butterfly that had fluttered around his head for what felt like a lifetime. It was easier to lie, to lie and say he was letting his guard down through the writing he submitted to his literature teacher. 

He kept everything that was real locked away inside a leather-bound journal, which was gifted to him by his Nonna after his report card showed an A- in Literature. He wrote about death, despair, hopelessness, depression, about how he really felt. He wrote about love, about what it would mean to let someone fully in, about freedom, about escaping this hell hole that threatened to destroy him before he could graduate. The leather-bound journal held the key to his very soul, and he would never let anyone see the inside of it. 

Not now, anyway.

Modern Veronaville Roleplay: THE PLOT

I really don't know how to start this post, but @gingersimmerr and I besides the historical (1300+ circa) R&J based roleplay (TS2 storyline version with VV sims), also have a modern AU roleplay set in 2023 and...I feel like talking about it because yes.

I start by saying that it is very stereotyped and clichéd, it's a clear modern version of R&J, very similar to the storyline of the game but with a few more twists and with a little Life Is Strange vibes. (P.S: geologically speaking, many elements are invented, we are both Italian so we don't have enough accurate information about America)

AND, is full of headcanons, so not every character is 100% accurate to its original version. With that said, let's get started.

THE PLOT

Somewhere in America, there is a big town called Veronaville. The town has a style that is a mix between modern white villas and Mediterranean style villas. It's like a little Italy, but very few real Italians live there. Most people choose to live there just for the vibes.

Two young businessmen in theyr 20s have nearly control of the entire city, having bought practically everything in there. The two are so powerful that even the mayor of the city itself seems to have much less authority than the influence of them both.

They are Consort Thebe, a British man, and Patrizio Monty, an Italian man.

You just have to imagine them like the Landgraabs and the Prescott (of LIS).

Consort Thebe is from a royal family, Patrizio Monty is from a noble family instead.

Business is booming, the two are best friends and therefore celebrate every victory together... but something suddenly changes everything. An x reason causes a strong fight between the two.

The two of them split up, the city is literally divided between the Monty's and the Thebe's. For years, the two of them never meet again.

Many, many years later, the two meet by pure chance when both decide they want to buy the same business.

They are both married now. Patrizio married Isabella Pantalone, Consort married Contessa Capp, renouncing his surname (Thebe) for his wife's matriarchal family.

Now, they are elders and have "children" too (adult children!)

Patrizio have three children: Claudio, Antonio and Bianca.

Consort have four children: Goneril, Regan, Kent and Cordelia.

Both are waiting to become grandparents for the first time. Their daughters-in-law and daughters are expecting their first children.

Olivia, Claudio's wife, is pregnant with Mercutio.

Hero, Antonio's wife, is pregnant with Viola.

Cordelia is pregnant with Tybalt.

Tybalt is born. Mercutio is born, Viola, Romeo, Miranda, Juliette and Hermia are born.

This group of children plays together for many years, while their grandparents are still friends.

But a tragedy suddenly strikes the Capp family: Patrizio Monty, out of a hidden grudge, sets fire to a business building which he and Consort had purchased jointly. His excuse was that he wanted to collect a very big insurance, but unaware that the building was not empty, that day, Cordelia Capp, Consort's youngest daughter, lost her life in the flames.

The Capps are rightly in mourning. The Montys are reported to the police by the Capps and taken to court for arson and the murder of Cordelia Capp, but having no evidence, Patrizio is freed from all charges.

The two families split up. Now they despise each other to death. The children are separated.

It's been about 10 years. The children have now grown up and with them the resentment and feud between the two families.

The Capps attend a private school financed by themselves: the Stratford Academy, the Montys attend public school, but Patrizio wants a better education for his grandchildren and so, reluctantly (because the school is financed by the Capps) he is forced to enroll them to the only prestigious institute in the area.

It's a September evening. Patrizio and Isabella invited their entire family to have dinner together and celebrate their grandchildren's entry into private school. But there's a problem: everyone arrives... except Viola.

Hours pass. But it's getting terribly late, Viola doesn't even answer her cell phone. Mercutio and Romeo go to look for her, but only find her cell phone fallen in the alley that she would have taken to her grandparents' house. This means that Viola was coming but...something happened in the meantime.

Everyone at home is terrified. Patrizio doesn't want to call the police because that would draw too much attention to his family. Hero is tired of listening to her father-in-law's stupid reasons and so she calls the police.

After a couple of investigations, following some testimonies, the police are certain: Viola was kidnapped by someone.

With the kids away at school and baby Benvolio put down for a nap, the Monty elders and their favourite son and daughter in-law settled down for a friendly game of poker.

Viola’s the quietest and quite bookish compared to her two older brothers - she’s not even going to consider Benvolio in that, he’s loud by default because he’s a baby. Settling down to read a book, Viola attempted to block out the sound of SSX 3 and her brothers coming from down the hall.

Isabella loves all her grandchildren and in no way shows favouritism towards Claudio’s children. She wishes that Antonio would visit with the twins more often. But she especially wishes that her wayward daughter would finally settle down and start a family of her own…

Experiencing Veronaville's Scripted Events for the first time in forever (2/3)

Next up was the Monty's scripted events and oh boy, did it spiral quickly.

Romeo called Juliette over to have a quick make out sesh and she brought her brother Tybalt with her. Because sure, that's what you when your boyfriend invites you over to spend time together lol.

Mercutio didn't even let the makeout animation play out before he was insulting her. Which of course, Tybalt retaliated by slapping Romeo.

Which then spiraled into Tybalt attacking Mercutio what a beautiful beginning to their love story /j. Mercutio lost that and his aspiration plummeted, just shy of the point where he would've had a mental breakdown.

Romeo lectured Tybalt, which honestly rightly so because he was the only one out of the four who didn't instigate anything as Juliette slapped Mercutio and made him cry.

Not a part of the scripted event (obviously), but I moved them into their new house after I did it and Olivia gave birth to baby Benvolio as soon as I loaded in lol.

Since gutosimmer doesn't give any more news of his Early VV (😭) I started making it myself and...damn it, this project is fucking fun.

At the moment I only have the two main families installed in the game (the Capps and the Montys) and I'm using the genetically corrected versions.

Since the children have the vanilla parents' genetics, I used the original Patrizio, Consort, Isabella and Contessa, because it wouldn't have made sense to use the genetically correct ones if the children didn't look like them.

Also because the genetically corrected Patrizio, Consort, Contessa and Isabella were so ugly that I didn't want to have generations of monsters 💀

Tomorrow I will install the Summerdreams, then all the rest of the family trees of all three families and finally I will install the families of the partners 💀

Early VV Family bios!

Hood Description

The feud between the Montys and the Capps has been going on for generations. Ever since the smart Cleopatra Capp tricked the powerful Bassanio Monty, almost bringing him to the ruin of his family.

After generations, the hatred between the two families should have been resolved slowly, but frequent offenses and murders between the two families has led that small power rivalry to become a real war between the families that now divides in two the beautiful Veronaville.

Will the new generations be able to restore the peace or will the story go on like this for many many more generations?

Capp

For generations a noble and powerful matriarchal family, every respectable woman who belonged to this family is described as ambitious, smart and without any qualms about getting their hands dirty of the blood of those who stand in their way.

However, times have changed, since the death of the previous heir, Scribonia Capp, Contessa, her daughter, seems to want to change the rules.

She has no hatred for the rival family, the Montys, and she longs for peace instead. An earlier romance with the current heir, Patrizio Monty, seemed to finally bring peace in Veronaville, but the story ended very badly with the arrival of Prince Consort Thebe, who snatched the beautiful Contessa from the arms of his best friend, Patrizio.

Contessa is a strong and intelligent leader as her ancestors, but despite her immense authority, how could she stop her husband Consort from hating the Montys when it all happened because of her fickleness?

Monty

Patrizio Monty never forgot Consort Thebe's broken promise.

The two were once best friends and business partners, and the savvy business demon Consort had even managed to get Patrizio himself out of debt, helping him to save his family's reputation for years chipped by the constant attacks of the fearsome women of the Capp family.

In the 'hood it's rumored that the friendship between the two ended due to a dangerous love triangle between the two men and the beautiful Contessa Capp, but no one knows that the story is much more complicated and profound than it appears.

Summerdream

Titania Summerdream and Oberon Gossamer have been best friends since childhood and have spent centuries and centuries together, in the woods of the mystical Moonlight Falls, until the two realized they had a strong feeling for each other and together they decided to try to lead a quiet human life in the beautiful but currently at war, Veronaville.

Will their presence benefit the families who have hated each other for years? Maybe the two will be able to bring some magic and love into their hearts as well?

Norman

Richard Norman and his wife Anne wish only the academic excellence for their only heir, Albany, but the boy, despite having the head on his shoulders and being very studious, seems to have distractions on his mind.

Despite his young age, Albany already wishes a family of his own, a wife to love and numerous children, and it seems that the he has already fallen in love with the beautiful Goneril Capp, of the Capp family.

Will Albany be able to obtain the permission of his parents and her parents to be able to court the girl or will his father Richard stop him thinking that at the moment a love story can only be an obstacle to his studies?

Dane

Rich, powerful, but underappreciated by other families due to their unfriendly nature, the Danes want only one thing: to excel. It doesn't matter which way, any way is fine, even the most dishonest way.

For this reason, although he is still only a child, Hamlet Dane has already arranged a marriage to his son Cornwall with one of the youngest daughters of the Capp family: Regan Capp.

Will Cornwall be able to make his family proud and carry on with their plans to excel even more despite the fact that he does not seem to have much sympathy for the young Regan?

The price to pay is really high, but the compensation... is even more!

Money, that's the only motivation that moves anything in the Dane family.

Gale

Mysterious but elegant, the Gales are the complete opposite of the Danes.

Appreciated by many for their outgoing nature and good manners, although it is unknown where they came from and what their origins are, this family of redheads seems to have already won everyone's hearts!

Prospero hopes that his son Caliban can grow and maintain this kind of reputation for years and years and that he can pass on him his immense knowledge for business, but despite appearances, it seems that a dark secret is hidden within the walls of their house.

A dark and mystical secret, similar to the Summerdream's one, but very different in many ways.

Arlecchino

The Arlecchino family is very different from all the other families in Veronaville. This, in fact, has no noble or royal title, but is a simple and normal family that unfortunately suffers of poverty.

The young Hero seems to have taken a liking to one of the sons of the Monty family, Antonio, but people immediately pointed the finger at the poor girl, accusing her of only wanting to make a social climb by taking advantage of the status of the young Antonio Monty.

This is not the truth, Hero has a deep and sincere friendship for the other child, but who can silence those rumors?

The Arlecchino may not be rich in money, but they are rich in love and creativity.

Will this family be able to bring some humility to the families of Veronaville or will they low social status and the judgments of others destroy them?

Dottore

For generations a powerful and noble family made up of doctors, there is no disease known to man that the Dottore are unable to cure, but does this also apply to heart problems?

Will the Dottore be able to cure even the sentimental ailments of the distressed families of Veronaville or will their talent stop at the physical ailments of medicine?

And above all, will the young daughter Olivia follow her father's footsteps and also become a doctor or could her mother's intentions, to try to arrange a marriage with the youngest son of the Monty family, Claudio Monty, hinder her from this path?

MY HEADCANONS: Sexual and Gender Orientations (BG NHs)

Sexual and gender orientations of premade sims according to my headcanons (PV, ST, VV - No Ancestors, no Townies, no Decesead sims, for now) I group sims by their natural hair color because I find it funny.

📌 Inconsistence

* Patrizio Monty hair is black ⚫ in The Sims 2 (as you can see in the in-game storyline photos), but brown 🟤 in The Sims 3. I don't like this inconsistence in The Sims 3 even if TS3 is set A LOT before TS2 in terms of timeline. So, for me his natural hair color is black, NOT brown.

* Olive Specter had brown hair 🟤 as adult but both her parents are black heads. ⚫ People keep insisting that it's not possible, and in this case it's correct. Because she has no grandparents, so no ancestors from whom she could have inherited recessive genes. But only parents.

* Isabella Monty's hair is brown in both The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, but simPE says she has the genetic code for blonde hair. If it wasn't an error by the developers, it would still make sense and it's possible that she could have blonde hair, as she could have inherited it as a recessive gene from her paternal grandmother Julia Pantalone or her maternal grandfather Lucio Zanni.

* Goneril Capp's hair is brown in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 but simPe says she has the genetic code for red hair. If it wasn't an error by the developers, it would still make sense and it's possible that she could have red hair, as she could have inherited it as a recessive gene from her paternal greatgrandmother Queen Thebe.

The curious fact is that Goneril already show a recessive gene. Both of her parents, Contessa and Consort, are blonde, but she show brown hair because she could possibly have inherited her maternal grandmother Scribonia Capp's brown hair. So, why change the recessive gene shown if the genetic codes still show that she has red hair? Mh, that's very strange!

* Kaylynn Langerak's hair is black in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, but simPE says she has the genetic code for blonde hair. In The Sims 2, Kaylynn is an NPC and doesn't have a family, so she can't have recessive genes and the only thing you would think is that she dyed her hair, but in The Sims 3 they justified this by giving her a family. Her father Dustin Langerak and her maternal aunt Zelda both have blonde hair, while her mother Iliana has black hair.

* Ophelia Nigmos' hair is naturally blonde on simPe too, but that's a mystery because NO ONE in her family tree has blonde hair.

* Miranda's hair is genetically "custom", meaning that the game does not read it as any natural color (which is also why you cannot change her eyebrows when changing her appearance in the mirror). But her eyebrows are blonde, which means she should be naturally blonde, like her father Albany, her maternal grandparents and half the Capps from her grandpa Consort family tree.

* Hermia Capp's hair is red as her father Caliban and her two siblings Tybalt and Juliette, but simPE says she has the genetic code for blonde. This is not an error. Hermia is naturally blonde since in Beta VV, she was the daughter of Regan and Cornwall and not Cordelia and Caliban. The developers decided to change her hair colors when they made her the daughter of Cordelia and Caliban and probably forgot to change her genetic hair color, but even so, if the player decides to make her blonde even now that she is the daughter of Cordelia and Caliban it would still make sense. Regan is one of Cordelia's sisters, and Cordelia is also blonde, and furthermore, Hermia could have inherited blonde hair from anyone in her family tree.

So yes, Hermia natural color is blonde in vanilla Veronaville, but red in fixed version of the Neighborhood like Meetme fixed template. I like to think she as a red head, so I put her with the red heads.

"Small" progress! (P.s: this is a private project, I can't share anything because I have a lot of ccs, custom foods, multi PT, multi IP etch 😢)

The Capp family tree is complete.

The Monty family tree is complete.

The Summerdream family tree is half finished, I have to finish it.

To do:

Summerdream Side: Add the rest of the ancestors.

Capp Side: Add Albany's family, Cornwall's family and Caliban's family.

Monty Side: Add Olivia's family and Hero's family.

In general: Edit the personality and interests of all ancestors copying the info on the wiki (I've already done this with all the main sims)

Create memories on simPe.

Check sims DNA on simPe and add recessive genes if necessary.

Kill all ancestors.

Small changes I made on my own:

In the Summerdreams and Gossamer family, all males are plantsims (I pretend they are elves) and all females are fairies. Only Oberon and Puck are fairies (as men)

I added both Puck's and Bottom's biological parents as townies. Puck's father is a dark fairy, Puck's mother is a goblin (a black witch to pretend). Bottom's parents... I don't know what creatures they are, but I made them both neutral sorcerers to give them magic.

Technically, Patrizio's parents died young (as adults) but in the sims 3 Valentine died of old age and Silvia is still alive (as a elder) so I decided to make them old here as well.

I haven't done it yet, but I will: all of Caliban's family (Caliban included) will be witches and warlocks. So yes. One of his children (between Tybalt, Juliette & Hermia) could inherit magical powers. (I have a mod)

Problems:

Technically Bottom is supposed to be a newborn but I couldn't make her regress. So to make up for it, I took days of life from Puck. So Puck will grow much earlier than her and I will keep the order of ages.

They shouldn't be born yet, but I didn't feel like installing them after a long time.

Chronologically Early VV is much further behind early PV & early ST, so to match, chronologically VV with the other two nhs, I will have to do more consecutive rotations playing ONLY VV until I get to a certain point that ages will coincide.

For the same chronological problem, I won't be able to play with the Summerdreams until Consort and Patrizio s grandchildren are born (since Puck is about Hermia's age). Otherwise I'll have to temporarily move Puck and Bottom to another family while I only play with Oberon and Titania and put them back in the family only when it's time.

Most likely Consort, Patrizio and Isabella will have to drink a lot of elixir of life to arrive alive when their grandchildren will be teenagers.
