Kav Tari’s Jubilee Performance feat. Vynix Nostra

(( October 15th, 2018 at the Heart of the Raven one-year Anniversary Jubilee. ))

Entering from the side with no special effects or ceremony, Kav held a microphone stand in one hand and a miniature stringed instrument similar to a guitar in the other. She placed the stand just slightly off of center stage, eyes lowered and ears flicking this way and that. Vinix followed with his guitar held captive by a woven strap around his neck.

A small quirky smile was sent out toward the crowd as he took his position to the side of the woman, glancing her way with a fond grin prior to placing his fingers along the neck of the instrument and beginning the piece with soft plucks at the strings. Following the cue of her stage partner, Kav quietly began to tap her foot in sync with his gentle plucking, matching the tune with a couple light strokes of the ukulele.

The performers kept their heads down, focusing on the enigmatic air of the song. A moment of meeting eyes cued Kav, starting the lead tune. “The world was on fire and no one could save me but you...” she sang with a subdued tone. “Strange what desire will make foolish people do… I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you...” Kav raised her eyes to the crowd but kept her head bowed. “And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you...”

With a smile Kav lifted her chin and narrowed her eyes to slits. She pulled out her voice and raised the volume for the chorus.  Her fingers rapidly plucked in sync with the elongated lyrics, “No, I… don't want to fall in love…” ”This girl is only gonna break your heart,”  Vynix’s voice hauntedly sang right after her. No, I… don't want to fall in love…” “This girl is only gonna break your heart.” “With you ….” Kav let the last word of the chorus end breathily, barely audible to the crowd through the microphone as her head bowed again and Vynix echoed beside her.

The guitar’s tone, accented by the high drifting notes of the ukulele, flowed through the ballroom. Soon Kav started again, a bit more power behind her voice as she made eye contact with Renrael among the crowd “What a wicked game you play to make me feel this way… What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you…” Kav’s gaze shifted to Vynix. Their eyes locked and her smirk is met by a wink as they appreciated their performance even while in the middle of it. As they continued to look at each other, the duo sang in harmonized unison. “What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way… What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you...”

Again with the uprising of notes from the ukulele hinted to the chorus about to be sang again. Vynix returned his attention to his fingers while Kav closed her eyes and turned her whole body to the audience. “And I... wanna fall in love,” she sang in earnest as her body rocked forward. Just like before, Vyn once again sang just after her note ended. “This girl is only gonna break your heart.” ”No, I... wanna fall in love...” “This girl is only gonna break your heart.” “With you.” “This girl is only gonna break your heart,” the second chorus ended with Vynix’s voice over grazing from the stage to the crowd.

The two performers plucked and strummed the tune out, their voices silent to the instruments as they added their own flair for their short vocal break. Kav brought it back to the base as she tilted her head to the side and allowed her hair to fall in her face. Vynix nodded his head rhythmically with the pulse of the music they created and watched Kav carefully as if she was imparting wisdom he had been previously without. 

Subdued, she repeated the first line, “the world was on fire and no one could save me but you. It's strange what desire will make foolish people do.” The woman rolled her head up and locked eyes with Talyndre, smirking impishly. “I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you. And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you.” Beside her, Vynix tossed his head, throwing long dark strands over his shoulder and out of the way, while sneaking a look over the audience with a light smile. He continued meeting Kav within the melody with calculated memorized notes.

The chorus ramped up again with their nimble playing, louder than the previous times. Kav swayed her shoulders as her eyes closed in the moment of the music. “No, I... wanna fall in love…” “Love is only gonna break your heart,” the man sang shortly after, words only slightly shifted from the last chorus. Moving close to the mic, Kav sang intensely, “No, I…” but released the note, letting it breathily drift as she pulled from the microphone. Vynix repeated his line again and Kav returned to the mic, this time only to sing a harmonized note solemnly with eyes clenched shut.

Suddenly a silence fell upon both instruments in unison, a vivid change from the energetic playing only moments before.silences the ukulele in unison with the guitar, a vivid change from the energetic playing only moments before. Kav belted out the final words, clear yet a slight crack to her voice between words.“Nobody … loves no one.” She dropped her head back and opened her eyes to look a the lights above. Vynix stood with his head down, a tip of it to one side as if in silent contemplation of the words uttered.

After what seemed like an eternity of silence, Kav smiled, dropped her arms to her sides, and took a bow. Vynix finally moved again to do the same.

Vynix Nostra- (Sin'dorei/male) @vynixnostra - Bard, owner of The Heart of the Raven Tavern & Inn, ex-con artist and retired from the Silvermoon espionage unit. Has a son named Rien. After a private tragedy in his early adulthood, he took his experience in traveling minstrel and theatrical skill to make a living. Frontlines a collaborated dance club in the ballroom next to his tavern. Currently dating @perchedon . 

Korizar Shademyst- (Ren'dorei/Male) @korizar-shademyst - Informant, Vynix's assistant at Heart of the Raven, married to @sleeping-seer who are both swingers. Addictive personality. Raised by two militant parents who were killed in the fall of Quel'thalas. Easy to talk to, flirty and a very commanding personality. Lives in a tent cliffside near Rustberg's port with his wife.

Serazyth Umbrilen- (Nightfallen/Male) @serazyth - Alchemist and researcher, ley line observer. Nightborne exile from a mid-upper class family of influence who has chosen not to accept the remedy to his Nightfallen affliction for the time being. Cousin of @gigi-etoileur . Currently living with @waterborne-shade who runs an Alchemy shop in Tol Barad.

Karmyne Blazeheart- (Orc/Female) @karmyne - Tattoo artist and piercer. Runs the Blazing Heart Studio out of Rustberg Village. Covered from the neck down in mostly tribal artwork, with numerous piercings over major points on her body. Very loud, ambitious and friendly. Gets along with nearly everyone and will attempt to drink you under the table.

Rowsin Gaines- (Human/Male) @rowsin-gaines - Perfumier and Pâtissier. Young adult who originally moved to Silverpine with an ailing parent. Has the worgen taint but does not remember anything from when he shifts. Very shy and quiet on the exterior almost to the point of wallflowering, bubbly and rather intelligent once warmed up.

Levyn Ari- (Half Elf/Male) @levynari - Combat medic and troll emissary. High elven mother and human father who were both integral to racial relations during the Third War, was kept secluded in schooling by the matriarchal side until he left. Spent years integrating into various Troll tribes [to varying outcome] to learn their culture and medicinal training. Divorced, and more recently divided from the church of the Light. Currently in Zandalar.

Ethyn Quilhaven- (Sin'dorei/Male) @thelibertinelibrary - Author of a romantic line of books that he touts with a traveling cart dubbed The Libertine Library. Spoiled and cock-sure from a wealthy bloodline, he enjoys as much of a hedonistic lifestyle as possible, while being practically introverted when inspired to write.

Deivora- (Draenei/Female) @deivora - Retired Arms Master with a forté in polearms. Freelances in guard and security work when the job suits her. Middle-age as far as her race is concerned, she is wary of the younger races. Stoic and dry of wit, she has slight xenophobic tendencies that stem from her extensive time on Argus and, therefore, demonic presence.

Hello folks, I have a ton of alts.  Most of them actually have their own Tumblrs, so I’ll list them from most to least active.  OOCly I’m usually known as Lars, and I’m one of the two co-GMs of <Heart of the Raven>  I’ve recently returned to WoW from a several year hiatus and love making new friends, so feel free to hit me up! I am looking for contact on all characters, so feel free to engage me through Tumblr, discord (Lars#7171) or in game.  Currently all of my characters are Horde based on Wyrmrest Accord, but most if not all are aggressively neutral faction-wise. <Heart of the Raven> Tavern and Inn- Official Guild Blog The Horde’s Own Illustrious Tavern and Inn, is a med/heavy roleplay guild with an all-inclusive philosophy. Our guild welcomes all creeds, classes, and identities as we foster a fun and friendly environment for anyone looking for a warm hearth and safe haven as they journey through Azeroth. <Heart of the Raven> operates as a public Tavern and Inn with an underground trade network beneath the surface. With this framework in mind, we have room for a wide variety of character types, races, and classes. Currently we are looking to fill staff positions in the inn (servers, bartenders, bouncers, etc) as well as accepting characters who would be interested in participating in our trade dealings or simply be patrons of the inn.

Hello to everyone from Blackbird Brewery! Holiday seasons are coming up, and we all know this year has been tremendously difficult for many, many people, and that this time of year may not be the same. People may not be able to spend time with their families, may be stuck at home, and may need a bit of distraction even if all we can offer is some time in World of Warcraft. 

We in the officer core have been deliberating, and have come out to ask YOU, the community, for help. In December, near the Holiday, we would love to gather as many people as possible to come together in-game, and just be able to celebrate together–which is where we’re asking other guilds to participate. Our goal is to gather the most gifts we possibly can–anything that people may be excited to receive, whether that be character art, mounts, in-game currency, raid runs, performances, absolutely anything you can think of to be able to give to the community and brighten the end of someone’s year.

The true touch of Winter is finally here, and though our little island is chilled outside, the tavern is warm and welcoming and will be serving up specialty hot cocoa for all to enjoy. 

Not only that, but we’ll be doing something for you all to show our thanks this Holiday season. As you come in and find your place within the tavern, you’ll be handed a wrapped up gift with an unknown present inside. It could be anything, but hopefully it wont be coal! 

And, even more! We’ll be having a very special holiday performance by our very own Talyn, and music performed by our lovely Vynix Nostra, so be sure to show them your support!

Vynix lifted the pen from it’s inkwell, dabbing it against the stone side a moment while he contemplated.
