Help I’m falling in love with the Water For Elephants Broadway Cast 🥺
What a sweet and talented group. Ever since the Tony’s I’ve enjoyed watching every piece of content on social media that Water For Elephants puts out. The takeovers are so fun! I hope it lasts on Broadway for a while!!

Sadness is in my heart to say fare thee well, but gladness too for his incredible family now gets to have him home. 🏠 Well- they just gave us the places call. It’s gonna be a teary last show with this angel human. @grantgust @lathoma3 @w4emusical

w4emusical “When they call places, there is this ritual we all do together as a company before the curtain goes up,” he says. “There is a line in the show: ‘Step right up and put some wind in your sails.’ So we form a circle and say ‘step right up’ over and over again until everyone has joined in.” - @grantgust for @townandcountrymag

"Make Me Gorgeous" Glows and Glimmers Off-Broadway
#frontmezzjunkies reviews: #MakeMeGorgeous @MMGorgeousNYC a new play by Donnie starring #WadeMcCollum @wadesong until January 28 directed by playwright #DonaldHorn soon to star @jackiecoxnyc beginning Feb 1

The Off-Broadway Theatre Review: Make Me Gorgeous By Ross “Life,…am I right?” This is the question, asked by the grand persona who arrives from behind at the beginning of Make Me Gorgeous, and after not really waiting for an answer beyond a communal nod of our enraptured heads, actor Wade McCollum, whose…

Make Me Gorgous!
Tumblr media
MAKE ME GORGEOUS! written and directed by Donald “Donnie” Horn with additional material by Wade McCollum: Kenneth Marlowe led a fascinating life. He was a drag queen, a hustler, a hairdresser whose clients included Phyllis Diller and Lucille Ball, a madame (sort of the telephone version of Scotty Bowers), a published author and eventually a transwoman. That’s a lot to cram into 90 minutes, and Donald “Donnie” Horn’s play has to cut some of it out. It’s also a lot to tie together, and some of the unifying elements feel a little forced. But with Wade McCollum playing Marlowe and just about everybody he ever met it doesn’t matter. McCollum does great physical and vocal transformations, dances and sings beautifully to re-create some of Marlowe’s drag performances and, most important, is a master improviser. His interactions with the audience drive the action, and he’s not afraid to turn an accident (in the performance I saw a problem applying false eyelashes) into a running gag. He had the audiences in stitches but also managed to switch the mood for the more serious elements of Marlowe’s life. It’s a dream of a performance that almost made me forget I was in a hard plastic chair and had to turn to watch him in the direction that aggravates my arthritis. I’d say curse you TDF, but then, they got me into the show for $40, and it was worth more than some shows for which I’ve paid top dollar.

Years before the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade, policy changes, flatlined funding and shuttering clinics put a strain on small family planning providers that have to fund the upfront cost of stocking a range of contraceptives, from birth control pills to injections to intrauterine devices, for their patients. That can reach around $30,000 for a clinic that dispenses birth control to about 50 to 75 patients a month, said Kate McCollum, senior director of the Trust Her initiative at the Child Poverty Action Lab in Dallas.
Federal regulations require states to cover contraception for Medicaid recipients, but states get to decide which types are covered. It can also be difficult to qualify. For example, in Mississippi, a single woman who is not pregnant cannot make more than about $20,000 before taxes to qualify for Medicaid.
