Nash was an iPad kid in every sense of the word. Her mother could not bother to care beyond sending monthly checks to the manor (more like luxurious jail) where the caretakers pocketed half the sum and the rest went to pamper her.
She could't be mad, there were plenty people out in the real world who'd kill for that kind of money. She spent her days tinkering on school projects, binge-watching historical k-dramas and being a general menace to the working staff.
Now imagine her surprise when she went to bed at three in the morning after haphazardly throwing together an art project featuring 'Kakashi the grey hare' and woke up on cold hard marble, instead of her fluffy mattress.
"What the heck?" She shuffled to a sitting stance, rubbing her sore neck.
The brushing of black skirts and the scruff of boots tethered her attention to the floor.
There were maids, a few dozens of them. Nash had her own nannies, sure, but nobody in the twenty-first century wore these silks unless as costumes, that too the very short version and for funzies on Tiktok or the bedroom.
"Woah-", a grin danced on her face. "Is this some sort of cult? Before the intro, I'll make this clear, I don't wanna be a part of this scooby-doo squad. Now, where am I?"
Silence, silence. Silence everywhere. Then, a fine looking specimen of testosterone-producer stepped up from the crowd, gripping a sword-A SWORD?!-in his hand.
"What business do you have with Agriche? How did you manage to get past the barrier guards? Start talking before I make sure you never will."
Well, zamn, who hurt you?
"Yeah, I was hoping you'd the know the answer to that?" She was thoroughly confused. "And since you don't, we can all just forget this ever happened and go our own seperate ways, okay? Okay, bye!"
A brilliant beyond brilliant idea popped up in her head. Taking out her phone, she tried searching for a signal. Hey, her mother may not pick up but she will dispatch atleast one guard to check on her.
"What is that?" The emo grandpa snapped his fingers. The phone was snatched away in an instant.
Nash reached for the object, only to be shoved away. "Hey, that's mine! Give it back!"
"Master, it seems to be some unknown technology, far beyond research-work mentioned in the archives", the woman replied and handed it over to the man in the lavish tux with a. . .bow?
What the frick is happening?!
The man chuckled and Nash felt a chill go down her spine. "A spy? Tell me, which lowlife has started copying my tactics, hm? Though, it is for the greater good, I suppose. The kids outside of this territory are pathetic, they pose no worthy challenge for my soldiers."
Which grown ass man sends people to fight kids?!
With furrowed brows, legs and arms crisscrossed, Nash drew a long breath. "Look dude, I don't know who you are or where I am but I don't mean to cause any trouble. . .yet. But if you don't return my phone, we're gonna have a problem here."
He quirked a brow and a tide of murmurs erupted from the audience. With a subtle clang his weapon was unseathed, the sharp blade pointed straight towards her neck.
Holy mother the of sweet Je-
"Are you aware that I can kill you without so much as moving an inch?"
Her breath hitched and she felt the hiccups coming. "So could a - hic - a chicken with enough motivation. You're not special-"
"Father, you called?"
A whispery voice carried by the wind stopped the man dead in his tracks from possibly ripping Nash a new one.
"Roxana", he rasped, clicking his tongue. "I don't appreciate tardiness. In any case, I'd like you to familiarize yourself with the latest brand of spies that are sent after us. Do they think of us as idiots!”
With that attitude, you’d make a fine Karen, sir. Wait. . .did he just say ’Roxana’?
Nash swiveled on her heel faster than light, coming face to face with said exotic beauty, shimmering rubies for eyes, adorned in a fashionable gown that almost made up for it’s weight.
"Y-You're Roxana Agriche?!"
At her starstruck exclaimation, the lady pursed her lips and only nodded curtly in acknowledgement.
Suddenly, Nash was clutching her head. She felt dizzy, she was definitely going to hurl.
Bye-bye fancy carpet, so long. . .
"Forking fudgecake!" The first row of maids probably jumped at the sheer decibel of her shout. "Did I get hit by truck-kun? No, that's not possible. How will a truck get in my house?! Murder, then? Not unlikely. . .although who would assassinate sweet ol’ me? Let’s see. . .”
"As you witness”, the newly recognized Lante Agriche waved the sword dangerously close to her face. Nash skiddadled to Roxana’s side. "This one doesn't know how to behave.”
Nash tilted her head to gander at the second heir’s face. She was lost in thought, her face overcome with a forlorn expression.
Roxana stroked her chin and then nodded. "You wish for me to oversee the interrogation?”
Lante grinned like a madman, thankfully storing away the blade. "As expected, you are a natural.” Nash had to do a double take to make sure his face fell in the matter of milliseconds. "Do not disappoint me.”
A sharp pain appeared in her scalp when her obnoxiously long pink hair was grasped and she was pushed back against the wall.
Yup, no wonder all the female leads hate this.
Lante did his best impression of a ravenous beast from the Black Forest, snarling and sneering. ”I will figure out where your loyalties lie and set an example through you. Am I understood?"
As astonishing as it is to be held like this by a 2D character, it ducking hurts, biAtch!
"Y-yes, sir!" As if-
He released her but it felt the same, as if her head was on fire. "Take her away.”
Roxana did not spare a moment to escort Nash to her room. They arrived in two minutes max and the blonde dismissed her tendants for the evening.
With a cotton swab and a bottle of suspiciously glowy liquid, she started dabbling the scratch that had formed on Nash's face, right under her eye from being thrown against the stone column.
She was quiet for most of the time while Nash observed Roxana's face. The teen truly was a looker, one worthy of people stopping in their tracks to stare at.
Light hair framed her face like a halo while piercing red eyes that tore through one's soul akin to the devil himself.
"Earlier, you mentioned a truck, yes?"
Nash blinked dumbly. "Uh-huh."
Roxana looked her directly in the eye. "Are your perhaps from. . .This is going to sound ridiculous but are you from Earth? Like, the actual modern world?"
The pinkette chewed on her botton lip. "Er. . .maybe?"
Roxana dropped her head and if Nash wasn't mistaken, she sighed out of relief. "How did you end up here?"
The younger girl threw her hands up. It felt weird talking to a fictional character who went into a fictional-fictional world.
Wait, that makes no sense.
"I don't know, lady! One minute I'm falling asleep reading manhwa on my computer and the next thing I know kaboom Lante-the-asshole Agriche is in front of me!"
"What's a manwha? Did you not read the novel-", Roxana paused mid-way, narrowing her gaze. "You are much too young to read those kinds of books."
Nash coughed awkwardly. "Well, I didn't exactly read it. It doesn't even exist in my world."
"Meaning? And you say your world as if we're from seperate ones."
Nash clapped her hands, slouching against the cushions on Roxana's bed. "Bingo." The girl stared at her, perplexed. "You know about the miltiverse theory, right? Y'know, spider-man and stuff like that?"
The blonde nodded.
"If I were to guess, we are both from two different realities. It's like a layer formation. The 'Flower of Hell' takes place in one, then you enter from another and change the course of the world and then I enter from a different reality like a cherry on top."
Roxana remained still, the subtle widening of her eyes being evidence of understanding. "I see. In any case, we need a place to fit you in. As far as I've looked, there is no escape. Other than death, but that is uncharted territory."
Nash made a face. You speak of death like it's the next door neighbor. Then she remembered. But for her, it probably isn't the worst thing to happen.
She cleared her throat, shrugging as nonchalantly as possible. "Any chance I can take a shower? I kinda sorta really stink."
The ghost of a smile passed over Roxana's face. "I will ask for a bath to be prepared." Her gaze traveled down, "And a tailor to take your measurements. Can't have my charge looking so haggard."
Nash looked down, her face burning red. She was still in her Hello Kitty jammies. "Hey!"
Roxana stood up, packing away the medical kit. "I will be back later. Your dinner will be sent here; eat after freshening up. And try to keep a low profile. The less people are aware of your existence, the better. Fa - Lante will likely dish out my orders for you at dinner."
She made to leave but turned around again.
"What?"
"I did not catch your name."
"Nash", the pinkette replied with a too-shrill voice, trying to rub the exhaustion out of her eyes.
Roxana was amused. "Full name?"
"Ugh. . .Nashira Parker, at your service, m'Lady."
As soon as the door clicked shut, Nash threw herself on the heavenly bed, feeling her body sink into the spread of softness.
'What a day. Welp- this is my life now, I guess.'

Ah thank you, sorry I just saw the statement going around on Twitter and wanted to know if you could back that statement up
Whaaat? Sesame Street was meant to show that everyone can be equal hence why multiple celebrities from different walks of life like Ice Cube to Lucy Liu made appearances on the show and Liu herself said thank you to Sesame Street as it help her learn English?
It not like it supposed to be in New York
A very diverse place
Seriously where the Flying FUCK is Sesame Street in NYC? Must I take a magical portal to go there?
But yeah, Sesame is supposed to be like that. Then race obsessed late Gen x and millennials came along and murder fuck anything
Seriously I grew up in the 00’s, you know when a fuckton of diversity was in kids media?
Now the majority of diversity comes from people who never left their metropolitan areas.
Words can’t not describe the downgrades black cartoon characters got.
Whaaat? Sesame Street was meant to show that everyone can be equal
Tumblr media
Here's 2 of the people that had some of the biggest impact on how I am today.
Tumblr media
Don't think I saw Carol Spiney's face till sometime in the last 10 years or less, he was just Big Bird.
Did someone say Diversity
Tumblr media
Down below we have the 80-81 cast, there's Mr Hooper in front of Big Bird, I don't think there's a show on today that could touch this. Could have used someone from the MENA region and India and Asia but in the mid 70's and even today this is huge.
Tumblr media
Look it's Gordon and Susan, and their 'adopted' son Miles.
Tumblr media
The introduction of Miles allowed the show to tackle the topic of adoption. Roscoe Orman originally suggested that Gordon and Susan have a child when he first joined the show in 1974. At the time, the producers felt that it was too complicated to cast a baby to play the part.
Ten years later, when Orman's son Miles was a year old, he revisited the idea. Orman remembers, "Caroll Spinney offhandedly said one day, 'That son of yours is so cute -- he's such a great kid -- we should bring him on the show and let him be your son.' I said that I had suggested something like that years ago but it was shot down. And he said, 'Well, you know, you could even adopt him.' That really started my wheels turning and I mentioned it to [Executive Producer] Dulcy Singer." The producers were intrigued by the adoption angle, and cast Miles Orman in the role. "The idea is that he'll grow up on the show -- for as long as he wants to," Roscoe Orman said.
They were there day 1 and through my whole childhood and beyond. Occasionally shifting performers.
Tumblr media
Anything you could want to teach a person about being a good, kind, and accepting person you could teach them by putting on a Sesame Street + Mr Rogers Neighborhood marathon.
I'm glad Mr Rogers is free to watch on PBS kids, sometimes I need to just have that perfectly measured voice there cutting through the din of the day telling me the day was better because he got to spend it with me.
Grateful he's still around even if he isn't.
But that's not Sesame Street.
Seriously where the Flying FUCK is Sesame Street in NYC? Must I take a magical portal to go there?
It's there, it's in your neighborhood too. You just have to find some people willing to help make it appear is all.
We're surrounded by legions of good, kind, and giving people. We just need to do some of the leg work it takes to bring them together is all.

HELLO and welcome to my rant about the PJO TV show
in honor of season 2 being announced, here is everything i loved and everything that needs to change.
i would like to preface this by saying that while my overall rating for the season was 7.5/10, the rating of each individual episode vary WILDLY, and there are reasons. even so, i still loved the show and cannot wait for season two.
STUFF I LOVED:
THE CASTING <3 <3 they have my whole heart all of them.
percy and sally's relationship
the little allusions to future books
episodes 1-3 *chefs kiss*
the design of the world and the monsters they looked SO GOOD
the changes to the conflicts and interactions, especially medusa and the tunnel of love
LIN MANUEL MIRANDA
the poseidon and sally scene. you know the one.
the gods speaking ancient greek YES
the fact that poseidons mom is proffessor mcgonnegal lmao
2X RICK CAMEOOOO
the dream sequences
oh golly, the roads gettin bumpy cause i got me some friends--
"i am impertinent" DIRECT BOOK QUOTE HELLO
"guess i'll lose my dessert privileges" DIRECT BOOK QUOTE PT. 2 ALSO CLARRISSE?????
the ares fight. i thought it would be cheesy but nope. massive W
the fact that this is my favorite book series <3
okay. now that that's out of the way.
the main problem was the directing.
series that use multiple directors (different ones for different episodes) are never good imo. when you're building a world u can't have clashing perspectives on what that world looks and feels like. bc of this, most of the season just felt empty. the riordanverse is set in our world, yes, but theres such a specific tone and vibe of this world in the books that was entirely absent in the show. the only time i even slightly felt it was in the first two episodes, and, what do u know, those were both directed by James Bobin, a veteran director of kid and teen shows.
on top of that, the structure was entirely too stiff. each episode was obvious: here is a monster, we know exactly who it is, this is why they're bad, and this is how we defeat them (usually with no fight scene, might i add, even tho there were multiple fights in the book). there was no SUSPENSE. every episode felt exactly the same, even though each monster is supposed to give us a different feeling. the first time i truly noticed this was in episode 5. the lotus casino felt SO flat. i was really disappointed, since that situation offers so many feeling and conflicts, and those were all ignored. AND THE BIGGEST MOMENT IN THE SEASON, the luke betrayal, THERE WAS NO BETRAYAL? percy just FIGURES IT OUT??? the fight was great, but that did not sit right with me.
2) why is this written by millenials omfg (and the characterization was off)
dude. percy jackson saying "period" in a serious context is NOT HOW THAT WORD IS COLLOQUIALLY USED. same thing with "i think we're going to have to be detectives here 🤓". These kids are supposed to be gen z in the show. Did they not get ANY gen z readers? or even just longtime fans to approve that yes, these characters are speaking how they're supposed to? im a gen z kid, and this pained me. this leads into my bigger issue with how the characters were depicted. lets talk abt it shall we!
tell my why annabeth chase wasn't a know it all. shes supposed to be the smartest girl in the room, always trying to prove it, not just to other people but herself too, that she comes off as a bossy know it all in the first book and we love her for it. so WHY was percy the one explaining EVERY SINGLE MYTH. go back and watch it. annabeth doesn't explain a single monster, or myth, or situation, or ANYTHING. i LOVE leah sava jeffries and i know she knows what she's doing, but the writing is entirely against her. tell my why the only times i really felt like annabeth's personality was written into the scene was the candy scene, the "are we under arrest", and at waterland. every other little piece of her was offered by leah, not the writers, so THANK YOU to leah sava jeffries and nobody else.
on the flip side of that, percy knew way too much, and they somehow made him clueless about the wrong things? he explained nearly every myth and monster, but couldn't understand that other people also have a bad relationship with their godly parents. like, he was surprised by annabeth and luke when he found out that the gods didn't care, which makes zero sense since he's so angry about his own dad not being in his life? it's really supposed to be the other way around-- clueless about the myth world but sure about parental relationships. i guess i can sort of see how this character change contributes to the plot, but i don't like it.
meanwhile grover has now been diminished to a comedy relief. the only times he did anything substancial was when he tricked ares, and the conclusion of which turned out to be wrong anyways, so there wasn't even any point. (also the getting percy kicked out of school part, which i don't have any critiques of). justice for grover man.
3) why. why is percabeth like this.
okay.
i love percabeth. i think the kids nailed it. i'm loving the slowburn. but why are they changing the relationship trajectory???? again, a writing issue.
one of the biggest and most important scenes, which is even alluded to in later books, is the oreo scene in the Kindness international truck. Missing. annabeth saying "because you're my friend, seaweed brain, anymore stupid questions?" gone. the suspense of not knowing anything about each other and still choosing to protect each other? not the same at all, because annabeth tells him her entire life story in episode 4, and for what? WRITERS, WHY ARE YOU MESSING WITH PERFECTION.
on top of that, some of the other relationships were just not developed enough. i ADORED the sally and little percy flashbacks-- sally percy relationship is on point. but luke and annabeth? annabeth struggled for the whole series with her brother-like figure, who she did everything for, and the understanding that he's now evil. that's a plotline that's super important to me specifically, and we had almost zero buildup of their relationship. and again, for what? that could have been fixed in ONE scene, just one where they're alone and talking to each other (and also, that could have been where we the audience learn a little about annabeths past, instead of changing her character, who's supposed to be very guarded, so tell percy her whole life story after knowing him for like a week). and THEN, the fact that they just skipped from the betrayal to percy leaving? no emotions? no discussion with chiron?? no annabeth realizing she's lost her brother??? i don't understand it.
also, percy and grover. we didn't see enough of their bromance. i don't have specific recipts for this one, just a feeling. i missed their friendship.
anywho.
MY FINAL STATS FOR PJO SEASON 1:
Episode 1: 9.5/10 (would be 10, but gabe wasn't right)
Episode 2 AND 3: 10/10
Episode 4: 6/10
Episode 5: 8/10
Episode 6: 4/10
Episode 7: 7/10
Episode 8: 9/10
writing this was exhausting. if you're still here, tysm, love u

my headcanons about the weasley-wood family but i try to make them coherent
(side note - if you want more info about the oc kids i gave them in this fic, you can find said info here. there will be some inconsistencies, because i've changed some info about the weasley-wood family story since then, but most info is the same.)
percy never wanted kids as a child growing up in a family with (in his opinion) far too many kids.
oliver and percy got together in fourth year, so while oliver had had a few thoughts that it would be nice to have a big family he could play quidditch with, he didn't really think much about a future where that could actually happen.
after the war, they both took a different perspective on this issue after the war orphans fund was introduced and harry was all over it.
it started with them fostering kids. they took care of a few different children. only children and groups of siblings, infants and toddlers, etc. but then they met lucy and her half brother.
lucy was two, but her infant brother was too young to have a name by the time he and lucy's parents were killed. because they felt weird just calling him the baby or lucy's brother, they nicknamed him skye after where oliver grew up.
this is really when they got attached, because how are they supposed to let go of lucy and skye after this? after giving skye a name and lucy her first broom? (yes, she was only two, but this is oliver wood we're talking about, so who's really surprised? at least percy was able to talk oliver into not letting her fly alone.)
a year after they officially adopt lucy and skye, they decide they want another kid. (it's for the charity. they're doing it for the charity.) this is how katie comes into the picture.
katie has dark hair and dark eyes and olive skin and doesn't look anything like her siblings or percy and oliver (lucy and skye, who have blonde hair and blue eyes and brown hair and green eyes respectively, both look like they could be biologically related to their parents). and this changes absolutely nothing.
katie and lucy both love quidditch - lucy lives and breathes it just like oliver does - and yet they are both truly, undeniably like percy.
katie is the one people always talk about. the girl who's most like him all the time, even though he doesn't see it (or, at least, pretends not to). the girl everyone bets will be in slytherin because she's too alike percy to be in any house other than the one he was in. she's even ultra powerful like he and oliver (and marcus and penelope) are.
lucy, meanwhile, is the daughter most people don't realize is like percy because she's so unlike him outside of home. it's not like she isn't herself outside the house, but she's much more outgoing. much more energetic and ready to pull pranks, because why be anything less when there's so much of the world to see?
but at home, everything is familiar. there's nothing new to see when she knows it like the back of her hand, and she can be calm and run on the beach and overturn rocks in search of crabs without feeling the want (or need) to put on a show. and there, at home, in her element, she's so much like percy that sometimes, he has to look away.
percy and oliver were 1/2 of the golden era marauders, and now lucy is 1/4 of the next gen marauders. percy is secretly very proud of this.
skye doesn't like quidditch, and doesn't really like talking to people at all, but he's painfully similar to oliver. almost weirdly so.
skye is a hufflepuff, but - like lucy - he was a hatstall, and like lucy, he was almost put into gryffindor. he doesn't really even understand quidditch, but he spends hours in the library pouring over strategies when his friends or sisters need him to.
skye is the one who looks like he could really be oliver's son, because even though he has green eyes and oliver has brown, their hair is the exact same shade and texture. skye is the one who gravitates to oliver's side while lucy goes to percy's, because while he loves both his parents, we look for people who are like us, don't we?
but there are also moments when skye and percy sit together reading while oliver, lucy, and katie fly above the beach. there are afternoons where oliver and lucy bake together while percy, skye, and katie play board games in the living room.
there are moments when the five of them fly together, skye clinging onto lucy from the back of her broom, because while she's the one who aimed her bludgers at him when they were little, he doesn't feel safe being off the ground with anybody else.
there are long nights when percy and oliver aren't home, out with friends or on a date, when lucy gathers skye and katie into her room and they set up beds on the floor so they can stargaze through the skylight.
all in all, their family might be different, but it's a family, and i think that's pretty cool.

Welcome to [Not Quite] Midnight Meditations (it's 2 am), inspired by boredom, bad choices (I just know I'm going to be tired at work in...6 hours), and that DP/JLU crossover snippet I posted a while back.
In this series, I'm basically gonna be posting stuff from my flash drive, and by stuff, I mean other fic snippets. These snippets are ideas/concepts that are not likely to ever become actual fics, but were interesting enough at the time to have me write a bit for them. I might eventually post something for an idea that will be a future fic, but that'll probably be rare. I'll be going in order of how my folders are organized, so we'll be starting with Digimon.
Tonight's snippet is a Gen 1 and 2 crossover during the whole Myotismon thing when Gatomon was still a "bad guy." Looking back at it, it seems my younger self was just as much a sucker for angst as my current self, because wow, I really made poor Davis go through it. I love him, though. I always thought his character had a lot of potential, story-wise...which is probably one of the reasons why I did it. I always seem to put my favorites through the wringer for some reason.
Anyway, let's get this show on the road, shall we?
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Gatomon tried her best not to fidget anxiously as group after group of frightened children was herded into a semblance of a line, all of them brought before her. She had no idea if Kari was in there or not, but she desperately hoped she wasn't. Although she was confident in her ability to keep her face straight with the knowledge that, should her partner pop up, she could lie, it vanished the moment Myotismon appeared through a portal to oversee the rest.
"Bring the next one," he demanded of the Bakumon.
Gatomon felt her heart race in fear at the sight of the small boy with maroon-colored hair, even though she had never seen him before. All she knew was that it wasn't fear of him rather than for him. Something inside of her screamed to protect him. To keep him safe because he was special…important…
Chosen.
She was barely able to hold back a gasp at the realization. Another chosen? Kari was supposed to be the last! Just what was going on here?! Despite the shock and the confusion, she grit her teeth and raced to come up with a plan. She hadn't expected this, but there was no way she could leave this boy, either, now that she knew.
It was made pointless when DemiDevimon announced that he'd found Kari.
Gatomon felt her heart sink at the look of triumph on Myotismon's face as he made another portal, and then felt it skip a beat in horror when- just as he'd been about to leave -he looked back. Gatomon hoped it was to address her but felt that hope drain as he turned right to the boy. It seemed he had sensed something as well.
"You, child, what is your name?"
It was obvious the boy was terrified, but that didn't stop him from glaring defiantly at the large demon digimon. "Why?"
Myotismon's eyes narrowed, and faster than Gatomon could blink, there was a sharp crack in the air, and the boy was on the floor, an angry red welt appearing on his chest through a tear in his shirt.
"Do not test my patience," he said, the calm tone of voice a complete contrast to the dangerous look in his eyes. "When I ask, you answer. What is your name?"
The boy sat up, tears streaming down his face as he gingerly placed a hand on the injury. It looked as if he was considering rebelling again, but finally looked away from Myotismon.
"D-Davis," he sniffled.
Myotismon regarded him a moment further before turning to DemiDevimon. "Bring him along."
"But we already found the last child-"
"Are you questioning me?"
"No! No, not at all!" He quickly called forth some Bakumon. "We're bringing the kid! Carry him!"
Each Bakumon took an arm and lifted the boy- Davis -into the air. To his credit, he seemed determined not to cry, and was even struggling somewhat.
"Such courage," Myotismon hissed, freezing everyone in place. "Perhaps…" He leaned down to be face-to-face with Davis, who had resumed his defiant glare. "…We shall see if I'm correct, I suppose."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"I wouldn't be too sure of your victory," the demon sneered. "For while you have the advantage now, I hold the future in my grasp."
"What're you talking about, Myotismon?" Tai demanded.
Myotismon laughed cruelly. "It's ironic that you were the one to ask." With a snap of his fingers, the Bakumon reappeared, and the digidestined's eyes widened at the unconscious boy in their grasp.
"This child has brought forth questions. What is it that has granted him this power…? His personality? His resemblance to you? Or was it random?"
"What power?! Let him go and start talking!" Tai snarled, hating to see a kid within that monster's clutches.
"What power, you ask?" he smirked. "Ask Angewomon. I'm sure she sensed it as well."
They turned to look at Angewoman, whose head had hung low since the kid had popped up.
"He's a Chosen," she told them wearily. "He was among the children gathered at the convention center. I don't know how he was missed, but there's no hiding the feeling he has about him."
Everyone's eyes had widened at this information, unsure of what to think.
"How was he missed? It is because it was not yet his time. This boy is undoubtedly a Chosen, but his destiny awaited him in the future." Smug maliciousness shone in Myotismon's eyes as he approached him. "The future…I had no idea something like this was in store. To think that more would come along to take your place. No doubt I would have been caught unaware, thinking that you were the only ones that needed to be dealt with. But now that I have him, how will the future turn out? How will the future survive without courage?"
Matt was the first to get the insinuation and paled dramatically. "You don't mean-"
"Mean what?! What's he saying?!"
"Still don't get it? Not surprising. Still, it won't change that this is a rare find."
He reached out a bony finger and trailed it across the boy's face in a mock caress. As if sensing the ill intent, his eyes snapped open, and he leaned back as far as he could.
"Get away!" he managed to ground out, though his voice was raspy and weak.
"I see the Bakumon failed to break you," he hummed, the casual tone of his voice practically mocking them. "No matter. That will make this all the more fun."
"Fun?!" he yelled indignantly before breaking out into harsh coughing that wracked his small frame. "This isn't fun you-…you Count Chocula freak!"
Crack!
The girls let out stifled cries of horror while the boys gasped. Meanwhile, the boy howled in agony as the whip cut into already sensitive and damaged skin.
"You will respect me," Myotismon said with a deadly glare.
Davis was panting, tears streaming down his face, and his expression one of deep pain. With more than a few shuddering breaths, he lifted his head to meet Myotismon's glare straight on. "No."
A bright light suddenly engulfed him, forcing Myotismon to pull back and forming a shape that floored everyone but Matt.
"That's the Crest of Courage," Tai gasped.
A warm red glow lit up the older boy's chest as if reacting to the statement. From it, a beam of light shot into the sky, meeting the first and joining together before vanishing. Myotismon lunged forward with a snarl, taking a tight hold of the boy's throat.
"You weren't supposed to tap into your power yet."
"W-What power, you w-wierdo?" he choked out.
The response was a backhand that started to bruise almost immediately. Davis whimpered, reaching the limit of the limits he'd already pushed himself passed. With a choked sob, he let his head hang down, desperately wishing for someone, anyone, to help him. Myotismon smiled in victory, but before any more damage could be done, a flash caught their gaze. Looking up, they saw the sky was rippling, and from a small section, they could make out the image of a brightly lit cave.
Davis…
They turned their heads at the voice, wondering where it came from.
What's wrong, Davis…?
"Look, the cave!" TK pointed.
The image sharpened, and now all could see the cave as if it were right in front of them. On a small rock platform, a red egg with a bladed horn rested, the symbol of courage beneath it.
You're calling me…but it's not time to meet yet…
It began to glow softly. Davis coughed- his face red from the lack of air -but couldn't help but feel immense comfort from the voice.
"H-Help…" he gasped out. "P-Please…"
"No, you idiot boy! Don't call out to it!"
You're in pain…Why are you hurting…?
The group was surprised to see the nervousness that entered the vampire's face.
Digimon…There's a digimon there…You're not supposed to meet digimon yet…
The light pulsed around Daisuke. For a moment, nothing seemed to happen, but then, he gave a start, a shuddering gasp escaping him.
"V-…V-Mon…"
The Chosen all exchanged curious looks.
"V-Mon?…Could it be Daisuke's partner?" Izzy mused. "If he is a Chosen Child, it would make sense."
"But how does he know his digimon's name?"
"Special circumstances, I'll bet," Matt guessed grimly. "You heard Myotismon. The kid- Davis -isn't meant to be a Chosen yet. Then there was that symbol. I think…I think he was supposed to take Tai's place."
"So…does that mean there are other children that will take our place too?"
"I don't think this is the time to worry about that," Tai cut in. "It doesn't matter what he is, he's just a kid. We've gotta help him."
By this point, Myotismon seemed truly panicked. "Don't let him say any more!" he snarled at the Bakemon.
"V-Mon!" Davis cried, getting everyone's attention. "V-Mon, help!"
"Silence!"
The whip was raised once more, but everyone there could sense that if they let this blow hit, it wouldn't be good. Immediately, all the digimon rushed forward, hoping to make it in time. Before they could get very far, the egg in the cave shimmered and shot out of the portal, destroying the Bakemon and knocking Myotismon out.
Davis screamed as he fell.
Hang on, Davis!
The light, which had taken a winged shape, quickly caught him. The others watched in slight awe as it reached them. Up close, they could vaguely make out some slightly draconic features through the light. With great care, Davis- having finally passed out -was placed in a startled Tai's arms.
Myotismon is not yet defeated. Guard him well, Courage.
Tai blinked, a little panicked. "But- Can't you-"
I would stay, but it is not yet my time, just as it is not yet his.
"You're here now, aren't you?" Matt asked. "Can't you stay? We could use your help."
I am only here in spirit- my true self remains in the digital world. The form you see before you is a result of Davis's strength, aided by the power he will one day wield.
"That's what that light that came from me was? My crest brought you here because he's going to replace me?"
Dear Courage, no one can replace you. All he will be doing is continuing a legacy. A legacy that will continue for many generations. Never doubt your place in its noble line.
"That…doesn't really answer my question."
A warm feeling enveloped them, and they somehow knew the figure was laughing.
It is a partial reason. Mostly, I was brought here because Davis needed me.
"So you're his partner. V-Mon."
Essentially, yes, but I am also much more than that. I am the light of your combined Courage, Tai, mixed with an incredible amount of willpower and belief in the impossible. It is doubtful that I will ever appear to you in this form again.
The digimon reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair away from Davis's face, a slightly wistful feeling permeating the air. Davis smiled slightly, leaning toward the touch as dark bruises began to fade before their eyes.
This power you have given me allows me to heal some of his wounds but not all. Do not fret, for the scars he bears from this day forth will only remind him to never abandon his beliefs. By taking him in an attempt to destroy him, Myotismon has only succeeded in making him stronger.
"About that. When is he supposed to take my place? And does that mean there are others out there to take on the other crests?"
The figure was silent for a moment, considering the question.
I suppose there's no harm in telling you, seeing as Myotismon has already ruined the stream of events. There are two others meant to be Chosen with Davis. Together, with Hope and Light, they are to be the next group.
They looked at Kari and TK, who seemed surprised.
"But- that's still not enough people. How-?"
The virtues will be paired together in order to give the next Chosen greater strength. Hope and Light will grow to their full potential, and Friendship will reach for Kindness, who is lost in darkness.
There was a rumbling sound, and to their horror, Myotismon was waking up.
Now, however, it is your time, not theirs. Defeat this monster, and bring peace to the Digital World. Do not worry about future threats, for just as there will always be a threat, so must there always be those who fight against it. Take care, Children of Virtue, and good luck.
The digimon burst into light, and they briefly felt a warmth envelop them.
"He healed us a little," Joe noticed. "Just like with Davis."
Tai was looking down at the boy, his eyes lingering on some of the injuries that were still there. "So…you're the next Courage, huh?" He smiled sadly. "It must have been tough being Myotismon's prisoner…I'm sorry I couldn't help you."
"There's nothing you could have done," Matt said, placing a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Nothing any of us could have done. But we know now that this kid is going to be incredible. He has a stubbornness to match yours if he was still talking back to Myotismon after what he went through."
"Yea…and we'll have to make sure there's no chance of it ever happening again."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"I've been thinking a lot over what V-Mon said," Izzy told the group as they rested at his house.
"About?"
"The next Chosen."
"Oh yeah, I forgot about it with everything that happened."
The others smiled at Tai's admission. It had slipped their minds somewhat too, but it was understandable. It hadn't really been until they'd come back and discovered that Davis had been picked up by his family that they'd given it any thought at all.
"What about it?" Sora asked, curious.
"The virtues will be paired together," Izzy quoted. "Before he left, he called us the Children of Virtue. I think he meant our crests, and that each new Chosen will get the power of two of them."
"So…Davis will have Courage…and something else?"
"He'll embody Courage and something else," he corrected. "The crests won't go to any random person, after all."
"That's true. But then…there's only going to be one new Chosen? Because of TK and Kari?"
"No, he mentioned that too, remember?" he mused. "He said there will be two more. Besides, Hope and Light are powerful, we've all seen that, so I think for them, it'll just be getting full control. The other six crests will be divided among three new Chosen. Then there's the other thing he said…I think…I think there might be another kid out there with a different crest. One that wasn't with us because they couldn't join us."
"Kindness," Mimi cut in, her eyes widening in realization.
"Exactly. Somewhere out there is a Chosen who's in trouble. I can't imagine the sorts of things being lost in darkness would do to a kid that embodies Kindness."
"Can't we help them?"
"We might not need to," Matt said. When everyone looked at him, he clarified. "Friendship will reach for Kindness, who is lost in darkness."
"So the one that gets the crest of Friendship will save them?"
"Not necessarily. V-Mon just said that they'll reach for them. That doesn't guarantee that they'll succeed. We'll just have to keep a lookout when the time finally comes."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"Kari, I saw him!"
Kari turned at TK's frantic whisper. "Who?"
"Davis!"
"What?!"
"He was playing soccer outside, and I kind of thought he was Tai at first, but it was definitely him!"
Before she could ask more, the bell rang, and they had to make their way inside. TK stood at the front of the class, although he was surprised that Davis was there too.
"We have two new students today, Takeru Takaishi and Davis Motomiya."
TK quickly greeted the class, well aware of the whispers that had started about both his looks and the distinct scar that fell diagonally across Davis's right eye. If the other boy heard them too, he didn't show it.
"Hey!" Davis greeted with a smile. "I'm looking forward to being in class with you. Please treat me kindly."
At lunch, their plans to befriend Davis were hindered by the small group surrounding him.
"What happened to your face?"
Davis paused mid-slurp, a noodle still hanging out of his mouth, something briefly flashing in his eyes before he shrugged. "Accident."
"Did it hurt?"
"It's my eye," he pointed out with a good-natured laugh.
The one who asked smiled sheepishly. "Point taken."
"I saw you playing soccer earlier. You're really good, how come you're not in the soccer club?"
"I wanted to be," Daisuke groaned. "But after the accident, my mom got really protective. She pulled me out of the school I was going to and homeschooled me. I couldn't even go outside without my parents or my sister. I just managed to convince them to let me come here."
"Sounds tough."
"Oh you have no idea. I hate being stuck inside."
"I'd hate it too. Hey, now that they let you out, though, you could join the soccer team! We're short a player, and you'd be great!"
Pink tinged Davis's cheeks as a pleased smile spread across his face. "You think so? I didn't think I was that good."
"Not that good? Please. Coach is gonna have kittens. He's always complaining about how his best player had to grow up on him and graduate."
Another boy snorted. "You got that right. It's always 'Tai never made that mistake,' or 'Tai got that move down in just one week.'"
"Don't get us wrong, though," a third boy cut in. "Tai is actually really nice. He taught us a lot, and he still plays with us sometimes."
"Sounds like a cool guy. Maybe I'll get to meet him too."

Past me actually ended up writing a lot for this one, haha. Hope you liked it! Now, I really should go to sleep, so...later!

Mad cat do you like The Orville? I saw your post talking about Twice Upon a Lifetime. Gordon has my whole entire heart and I wish they could have just let him be, but they had to protect the timeline. Everything they did they did for the sake of their future.
I do! In a lot of ways, it was baby's first Star Trek, for me. I saw episodes of Next Gen here and there when I was a kid, but The Orville is what inspired me to watch Next Gen (and Discovery) in full. Even to this day, I consider The Orville to be "real" Star Trek. Not saying it's better than official content (though I certainly enjoy it) but I would argue that it's more than earned it's place as an addition to that fictional universe.
Regarding Twice In a Lifetime,
I know that was the point of view the episode wanted to establish for Ed and Kelly, and I'm not even sure if they wanted us to see Gordon as being in the right or wrong. I can only tell you that when I watched it, I was absolutely on his side and frankly, rooting for Ed and Kelly after that episode was...challenging.
They claim they want to protect the timeline, but they have an extremely narrow definition of what that means, regarding a subject that they freely admit to not fully understanding. The fact is, Gordon could be right. Maybe the timeline where he stays on Earth is the "right" one. The Orville crew don't know. They can't be sure, one way or the other, so what makes the version of time they're fighting for more real, more legitimate, more "safe?" Whether or not Gordon should have done what he did, it's happened now. Ed claims that it's still in flux "until we act." But that doesn't make any sense. Everything they do is "acting." How does the timeline know when they "mean" it?
Oh and, they go back in time to rescue Gordon from 2015, despite already interacting with Gordon in 2025, and obtaining the fuel they need to make that journey from 2025. Would that not create gigantic paradox? I guess it doesn't, but again, how the hell could the Orville crew be sure that it wouldn't before they make that jump? Can we also talk about how they mine a finite resource from the Earth's crust that hasn't even been discovered yet, like that won't affect the timeline more than Gordon having kids.
There is no way to not leave a footprint when you're in the past. It is not possible. On paper, hiding out in the woods seems like it would change less, but it really doesn't. Every one of the animals Gordon killed for food might have played some role or been part of a domino effect that changed the future somehow. It's called The Butterfly Effect for a reason. Living a quiet, mundane life, to me, is just as acceptable and probably smarter than staying in the wilderness. Oh yeah, and when they find Gordon's bio, Kelly asks "Why is there a record of him at all?" My sister in Christ, why were you looking him up in the first place if you didn't expect to find something?
Ed and Kelly keep bringing up Union law to Gordon, even though the Union literally doesn't exist in the 21st century. How is he supposed to break laws that don't exist? The Union can try to legislate the past all it wants, but in actual practice it should have no right or jurisdiction. By The Union's it's own reasoning, the past is apparently written in stone. Ed and Kelly also mention how Gordon "took an oath" as if he hasn't made it very clear that he's resigning his post as a Union officer. And so long as we're talking about the law, would it not be a crime to erase Edward and his unborn sibling? Like, Gordon raises that point and Ed/Kelly don't acknowledge it.
Man, I could go on. I could talk about the hypocrisy of The Orville crew considering history says they're all supposed to be dead after the dark matter storm in Season 1. How they were far more open minded with Past Kelly in Season 2, agreeing to let her stay and not forcing a memory wipe on her when she was going home. Not to mention they were willing change history in The Road Not Taken. I could talk about how, in just the previous episode, they were willing to risk losing their greatest ally against the Kaylon just so Topa could transition. I'm not saying any of these decisions were wrong, but if that's the attitude we've been going with so far, how do Ed and Kelly justify such a sharp turn?
In general, I have a lot of issues with the laws of The Union/Federation. I also think The Prime Directive is a circular argument that basically humble-brags about it's own lack of empathy, but that's a debate for another time.

can u do some headcanons where Brynne is the driver and the other Potaotes (specifically Aru and Rudy) wanted to stop by a restaurant.. only for Brynne to shut it down by criticizing the restauarant. Please have 1 restraunt for a Potato. And include the 2nd Gen if you wish.
Brynne: Ok, dinner's on me this time. Where do you guys wanna eat?
Aru: MCDONALDS MCDONALDS MC-
Brynne: I AM NOT SETTING FOOT OR PULLING UP TO THAT CHEAP CORPORATE TRASH
Rudy: Why even go out? We can just head back to my place and my chefs will-
Brynne: Rudy, last time your chefs cooked, it was nothing but raw eggs, mice, and something that looked like the soy people from Adventure Time. Normally I wouldn't have minded, but they don't know s*** about seasoning!
Mini: Ok, we could go to an indie organic restaurant in the area.
Everyone (except Rudy): NO
Brynne: Any place that would charge that much for a goddamn sludge made of roots and berries should be close down. No, we're not going near that.
Aiden: Alright Brynne, look, there's a Little Caesars right over-
Brynne: Ammamma, if I wanted cardboard with cheese on it, I'd eat the school lunches.
Hira: Ok, how about that Red Lobster's?
Brynne: Babe, as much as I love taking you to fancy places, they should at least store more food when they say "endless shrimp" and not get pissed at me when they run out!
Aru: Ok, Brynne, we give up. Where do you want to eat?
Brynne: ...wanna head back to my restaurant? I know the owner XD
*Everyone groans*
Priya: Seriously? We eat there like every day, how is that remotely a treat?
Mini: Priya, what are you doing here?!? You're supposed to be looking after-
Priya: We are.
Suru: Hi Mami, hi Papa!
Abha: See? I told you they wouldn't detect us!
Rudy: Ok, great, we have three more shots!
Ghata: Four.
Hira: Ok kids, we're gonna try the rapid-fire approach on Brynne masi. Where do you wanna go?
Suru: Chuck E Cheese!
Brynne: Dave and Buster's lame, dirty, old boring grandpa? Next!
Priya: Panda Express?
Brynne: Oh yeah, "authentic Chinese cuisine." Next!
Abha: Applebee's?
Brynne: Half the time I don't even know what they're trying to do! Next!
Ghata: Uhhh... *fidgets nervously*
Hira: Brynne!
Brynne: Oh, sorry baby! Where do you want to go? We'll go wherever you want!
Ghata: Maharaja?
Brynne: Really? You don't wanna go to MY restaurant but you'll get Indian food from-
*Hira elbows Brynne*
Brynne: Good choice sweetheart.
Valerie: Ugh, you fools couldn't have picked Cheesecake Factory?
Brynne: WTF? What's Kara's demon summon doing here?
Valerie: My mother insisted I spend more time with my *ahem* family. Sydney printed out some coupon books and mother asked me to bring her back something. But with the choice in restaurants, I'd rather get thrown out.
Priya: Permission to throw her out the car?
Mini: Priya!
Brynne: Granted
Hira: Brynne!
Aru: YOU CAN THROW ME OUT THE CAR AS LONG AS I CAN ACTUALLY GET SOME DINNER TONIGHT

Wilbur: So we're apparently giving this whole thing one more go... but Kong says it's just a legacy gameplay, not the 100 babies..."
Judith: "So we're just a game to her? What about all the other kids we have had? They're just gone? That's weird. Kong is weird."
Wilbur: "I know. I can't help who created me. She did say they all are still stashed away safe, so maybe we'll see them again someday. For now... there's just you and me... and... I guess... no more other women. That's good right?"
Judith shrugs, "Yes. I didn't really care for that bit... BUT... it's not our call now is it? It IS an alternate universe, so we don't have much choice right?"
Wilbur shrugs. "Suppose not. Love me?"
Judith smiles, "Always."
Just a legacy challenge - http://simslegacychallenge.com/sims-4-legacy-challenge-gameplay-rules/ and loosely following this guide https://drive.google.com/file/d/10rbNRLocEkaiBEakwJFd3MXMNPB0iPxH/view
Succession Laws Guidelines-- I'm a rulebreaker... I will TRY not to.
Gender - Equality: Gender does not affect succession. (*my change to the rules.)
Bloodline - Modern: Both born and adopted children are viable successors.
Heir Law - First Born: Eldest child is heir, in the case of multiples with no Exception trait, all will be played and the first eldest with child will be named the heir of the next generation. (ex. gen 1 twins - twin a and twin b... twin b has child, that child becomes heir of gen 2.)
Species - Tolerant: All species are eligible successors.
Exceptions: First child w/ a Self-Absorbed Trait trumps the rest.
In the case of multiples...I will play all in the house and the first heir to have a child is the line of succession. Again, Self-Absorbed trait trumps all.
In the event that the heir dies, the next eldest becomes heir.
Additional Patchwork Housing Challenge: Each Heir has to create a room that does not exactly match the rest of the house. Your founder built them from scrap, so there's no way they'd all match right?
To start, you must have the essentials. (Bathroom, Livingroom, Kitchen/Dining, Bedroom.) The goal is to make an additional 3 bedrooms, 1 bathrooms, 1 computer room. Once those are complete, new generations can re-design the rooms, but the walls must stay in the same place or they can add another room that doesn't match.
The plan is to let the legacy play out with as little of my meddling as possible... and it will go as long as I want it to. I may take long breaks between posts on this one. It's really just for me to catalogue my game.

God has searched for me, and found me
Gen OFMD

Chapter 1/8
[ao3]
Until the age of twelve, Oluwande Boodhari thought that "going to school" meant helping to bury a body.
His confusion was understandable, really. During his childhood, he never met anyone who'd actually gone to school. In its heyday as an outlaw haven, the closest thing Tortuga had to formal education were trade apprenticeships. Children too young to work just learned whatever their families were able to teach them.
In Oluwande's case, "family" extended to everyone at the brothel his mom worked at, which had been home for as long as he could remember. He and the other kids slept in a cabin out back along with whichever of their moms had the night off. They spent most of their daytime hours unsupervised, though their moms, Madame Étiennette, and even some of the childless working girls did their best to collectively look after them. As part of this arrangement, every now and then one of the women would take it upon herself to impart a useful lesson to the brothel's resident children.
One muggy spring day when Oluwande was 7, the kids were kicking a ball around in the back alley when Ms. Lucy emerged from the brothel's courtyard, dragging a corpse. "Alright children," she announced, dropping the body amidst the muddy carriage wheel tracks, "you're all going to school today!"
Oluwande had seen dead bodies before, of course. Finding the corpse of some poor sod who'd drunk himself to death or crawled to a quiet spot to succumb to his wounds after a fight was fairly unremarkable when one spent one's childhood in the back alleys of a pirate town. This, however, was new: to Oluwande's knowledge, no one had been killed in the brothel by one of his mum's coworkers before.
He didn't have to wonder how the dead man had earned his gruesomely slit throat for long.
"Lesson one," Ms. Lucy declared. "This is what happens to men who touch a woman without her consent."
Ms. Lucy went on to explain that she was enlisting the kids' assistance in burying the body, undoubtedly an important life skill they could all use to learn. She asked them to fetch the shovel, and several boys raced off to try and grab it first. What dummies, thought Oluwande. Don't they realize that whoever has the shovel will end up doing most of the work?
He watched as flies accumulated on the dead man's neck. "Yuck." said a voice to his right. Oluwande turned to see that Wren, too, was engrossed by the fatal wound. "Think we could turn him into a zombie?"
"What?! What do you want a zombie for?"
Wren shrugged, her bony shoulders stretching the worn linen of her dress. "Dunno. I just think it would be cool. We could sic him on Jean-Claude when he annoys us."
"Well, we're not witches, are we? So we can't make a zombie," Oluwande reasoned.
"How hard can it be, though?"
"What, becoming a witch?!"
"Well, yeah. Witches were kids once too, right?"
Oluwande considered this. He'd never really thought about it, but he supposed Wren was right. "I guess," he conceded.
The line of thought was concerning. Oluwande wouldn't put it past Wren to actually decide to become a witch, especially if anyone told her she couldn't. He took a moment to figure out how best to dissuade her. "If you become a witch, though, I won't be friends with you anymore," he finally said.
Wren gasped in indignation. It was a bit harsh, thought Oluwande, but the situation called for it. Besides, it was true. Probably. He guessed it depended on how evil of a witch Wren became.
To his relief, their conversation was interrupted by everyone setting out to wherever Ms. Lucy had decided to bury the body, six of the kids dragging it along. Wren and Oluwande followed along, bringing up the rear of the macabre procession.
"You're no fun," Wren grumbled, pouting.
"Wren, witches aren't fun! And neither are zombies!"
Wren stuck her tongue out in response.
As they walked, Ms. Lucy continued her lesson. "Now, it's important to understand that even if you work in a brothel when you grow up, and men pay to touch you, you still get to decide when, where, and how they touch you. This sorry fuck chose not to respect the boundaries I clearly laid out for him. I keep a dagger under the pillow in any room I work in for this express purpose. So, children, what's the takeaway from this lesson?"
After a few moments, Sylvie said, "Always have a dagger under the pillow?"
"That's certainly a part of it, yes. What else?"
Wren piped up. "Kill anyone who touches you!"
Ms. Lucy looked back at Wren with raised eyebrows.
Oluwande elbowed her in the side and muttered, "Without your consent!"
"Err, without your assent?" Wren added.
“You’ve got the idea, Wren, but the point isn’t to kill people. The point is to stop anyone who touches you without your permission. And, well, if it takes a fatal wound to stop them, that’s their fault, not yours. This way, now," she said, leading the group through a gap in the fence of an abandoned lot.
There were a few drunkards sleeping or laying about in the shade of what remained of an old building, but none of them stirred at the arrival of Ms. Lucy's strange little school. Ms. Lucy directed the children to a suitable spot and gave a quick lecture on proper placement and depth of a grave, then the digging commenced. Most of the boys insisted on having a turn with the shovel, while Oluwande rolled his eyes and kept to the edges of the grave digging effort, making slow but steady progress with a rock he'd found.
Not to be outdone by the boys, Wren fought for her own turn with the shovel. She then proceeded to knock Jean-Claude upside the head with it, after which it was immediately confiscated. Oluwande tried not to laugh as Wren sulked back to his side.
Before long, Ms. Lucy declared the grave sufficiently deep. “I thought it was supposed to be six feet deep. Is that six feet?” asked Javier.
Ms. Lucy shrugged. "It's good enough. As long as it's deep enough to not wash up in the rain."
Oluwande frowned at her nonchalance. He was pretty sure that most grown-ups only pretended to know what they were doing, and as much as he liked Ms. Lucy, she was no exception. He resolved to ask his mum about how deep graves should be when they got home.
"Alright, in he goes! Grab on everyone. And… heave!"
The body landed in the shallow grave with a thump. The children then eagerly began throwing the displaced dirt on top of it. In the midst of the resulting chaos, Oluwande watched Jean-Claude bending down to make a mud ball. That couldn't be good. As Oluwande started to make his way over to intervene, Jean-Claude threw in the mud ball right in Sophie's face.
Oluwande reached Jean-Claude and, without thinking, pushed him over the edge of the grave. He toppled in, landing on the corpse’s still-exposed bloody neck. Wren and several others laughed and cheered while Jean-Claude shrieked in disgust.
“That’s enough!” said Ms. Lucy. She reached down to give Jean-Claude a hand up out of the grave, then gave Slyvie a handkerchief to clean up with. “Jean-Claude, we do not throw mud at people. Oluwande, we do not push people into graves. Understood?”
“But Miss, he threw mud at Slyvie! I was just stopping him!” complained Oluwande.
“We all just pushed the dead guy into the grave!” added Wren.
Ms. Lucy sighed. “We don’t push living people into graves. And yes, Oluwande, throwing mud at someone is wrong, but pushing someone into a grave with a bloody corpse in it is worse, so Jean-Claude didn’t deserve that. Jean-Claude, apologize to Slyvie.”
"Sorry, Slyvie," recited Jean-Claude.
Slyvie sniffed and pouted in response.
"Oluwande, apologize to Jean-Claude."
Oluwande scowled and considered his options. The women of Madame Étiennette's all had the authority to put the kids in time-out if they deemed it necessary. Oluwande could appeal to his mother, of course, but he didn't like his chances when it was his word against Ms. Lucy's. Grown-ups tended to stick together on this sort of thing, even in clear miscarriages of justice.
"Well?" prompted Ms Lucy.
Oluwande sighed. He resented being made to apologize when he was so clearly in the right, but refusing wasn't worth the risk of an undeserved punishment. "Sorry, Jean-Claude," he said.
Jean-Claude sneered. "Thank you, Oluwande," he said, his voice dripping with condescension.
Ms. Lucy seemed not to picked up on Jean-Claude's mocking tone. "Thank you. Now, let's finish covering the body, shall we?" she said, clearly thinking the situation resolved.
Oluwande waited until Ms. Lucy's back was turned to glare at Jean-Claude, who responded by sticking his tongue out at him. Before Oluwande could react, his outrage was tempered by Wren placing her hand on his chest, ready to hold him back if necessary. Oluwande deflated; he knew that if he didn't let it go, he would be the one to get in trouble. He kicked at the ground in frustration then sullenly rejoined the burial effort.
Once the body was buried and school had thus been adjourned, Oluwande and Wren fell back once more to follow behind the others on their way home.
"Now do you see why I want a zombie?" said Wren smugly.
"Shut up!"

Omg you have warrior u oc’s ?! Please tell me about them!
I've been in the fandom for a hot minute and a half, so I got a few and they break into two generations lmao.
1st Generation (2013-2014) Made for funsies.
2nd Generation (Present) Made for the future issue we're working on.
It's kinda hard to talk about the 2nd Gen ones without spoiling too much, so I'll just stick to stuff that's irrelevant or not covered in the draft??? They'll be at the bottom, so feel free to dip out of the post if you don't want spoilers.
With that said....
*Inhales*
Gen 1 OCs
Tumblr media
Ophilia - Y'know how almost everyone had some fem unicorn/pegasus to ship with Hevvin lmao; uhh this one was mine. She's less of a character and more like a concept. I liked the idea of a counterpart to Hevvin's 'magical creature killing things on purpose' with a 'magical creature killing things on accident'. She's supposed to be a clydesdale like pegasus that was also poisonous to the touch. She was used to being hunted for her feathers, and was supposed to have long fur/hair. But like really hated humans because they wanted her magic to hurt each other; made no sense for her to have a human disguise, but eh. Also I was an inexpirienced artist, so I made her super skinny/tall like all my other drawings, but really she should have been BUFF. I never gave her a concrete personality and was too nervous to do anything other than use her as a dress-up doll for different outfits that would fit the aesthetic. In hindsight she doesn't really fit in the world (Aisha denounced pegasus existing, and Hevvin's human form is canonically from one of Leenan's lost spells soooooo) but I still like the idea of a character that was poisous to the touch. Ended up finding a VN series that scratched that itch, so I officially retired her. She did make a cameo in my fic Plain Gold Ring as one of the monsters Emet ran into on her adventures. This is what she'd look like if I made her now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JD (Can't find his full name, my gut says Jasmine Diane???)- Made for my fic Plain Gold Ring as a travel campanion for Emet and Rhodri (because there's no one else in the comic their age lmao). I knew I wanted a 'neutral' party for them to talk to so they weren't always talking to each other. He's the youngest of seven brothers, I think he was 11??? (him and his brothers all were given girl names by their stubborn mom who thought naming the baby before birth would give her a girl). He's a very meek and gullible person and a grain farmer; the kind of kid Rhodri usually scams. A pushover toatie made sense for an added member to the squad, so I had Rhod drag him along and they made him do all the stuff they didn't want to do. He ended up being a fairly practical and chill person as the story progressed, whose biggest flaw was not speaking up. He used the adventure to step up in the world and act as a merchant (so he sells all the treasures and junk Emet finds overseas and doesn't like.) With the happily ever after being them forming an adventure/merchant guild. I seem to remember submitting him to the OG tumblr for review (I can't remember why) but he got artist approved!  I snuck him into the background of pg 28 of Ambrosia since we needed people in the streets according to the thumbs [that by no means makes him canon, it's more an easter egg than anything else]. I still really like him and the idea of his fam from a worldbuilding standpoint, though I have 0 plans for him. I may go back and revise Plain Gold Ring, if so, he'd get developed further.

Gen 2 OCs (Spoiler Reduced)
Belladonna Ashenburrow (sp?) Age 13 and a half
Tumblr media
Biological daughter of Freya Ashenburrow and her 1st husband (supposedly), but not the oldest of Finn's cousins. She enjoys studying ediquette/customs of other cultures, making tea pastries and torturing her step sisters's tutors until they quit. Permenantly housebound, Bella is determined to get married first and be a celebrated nobel lady to spite her family (not that she's made any progress thus far). She is first in line to inherit the family home as the only descendent that is blood related to the Ashenburrows AND holds a noble title AND willing to marry any noble her family picks out. No one in the family is happy about this. Her mother and father are deceased and her step father is always away at work as a woodsman. She refers to everyone in her family by cutsey nickname versions of their names with exception of her grandfather (Papa) and her step father (Mother's Second husband). Her aunt and grandmother try to pretend she's not in the house. (She is LOOSELY inspired by the tale of Cinderella, in that she has step-sisters and an akward family)
Rosaline Ashenburrow Age 15
Tumblr media
Technically the eldest of Finn's cousins, she entered the family through her father's second marriage (and as such is not a blood-realitive). Despite that, she was very close with her cursed step-mother and was her unofficial favorite child. Her favorite story from her step-mother was how marrying her father made it feel like the curse was gone, that true love isn't the first love you find, but the one you build through hard work. She wears Freya's old dresses to feel close to her again, though they are extremely dated. Still, she struggles with adapting to the expectations of noble ladies and often falls short of her aunt's expectations. Rose enjoys gardening and has an interest in white witchcraft, but is too scared to pursue it in the home given past events. She discovered of Leenan's existance after her suitor accidently triggered an old hex Leenan had left behind. (He got turned into a bear mid proposal; he's kinda stuck as a bear until further notice). She's inspired by Rose Red from "Snow White and Rose Red".
Clarice Ashenburrow Age 5
Tumblr media
Fairytale rules state there's always 2 step sisters; so I thought it'd be interesting to have one be older and one be younger. When she talks, it's in test bubbles with layered crayon/pencil dialogue to replicate how young kids have rapid/repeating speech. She's extremely hyperactive and has grown up in the Ashenburrow home realively unsuppervised (she has Rose, but Rose gets busy with lessons and other things). She's quite the terror, but when she's older she'll focus her energy into playing piano instead of tearing the house apart. She also has a habit of biting people when she's upset. She doesn't remember her mother at all or Freya and often tries to get Senna and her grandmother's attention by missbehaving (it rarely works). I wouldn't say she's a brat, more like an unchecked ball of chaos. She actually adores her older sisters (and her cousin once they meet); but no one has time to play with her 🙁 Inspired by Bell's younger sister in Beauty and the Beast. Fun fact, the disney animation removed her character from the final draft of the movie to make Bell seem more isolated/lonely in town.
I keep flipflopping on whether she should be Bella's step sister or half sister. Step sister would be more traditional and secure Bella's role as heir, buuut half sister would mean Rose could have been raised by Freya for longer and raise the stakes of competition in the house. Either way, she'd be treated the same in the issue she appears.
Senna Ashenburrow Age 37
Tumblr media
Not technically an OC, but she doesn't really appear in the formspring or in WUPurgatory; so her personality was concocted by me and Coffee. She's Leenan's elder sister, and the fact Coffee calls her Finn's "wine aunt" makes me laugh because I associate her behavior with my boomer grandparents lmao. Definately a functional alcoholic though, but an ideal duchess (ediquette is on point, dresses immaculate, socialable with all the right people, etc.) She has a "close friend" *cough*wife*cough* whom she's been with since they were 22. She figured she could avoid the pressures of an arranged marriage by supporting one of her sisters; and in return get left alone. Freya seemed like the safer bet (unfortunately she had all girls!) and now is stuck training her nieces on how to care for the duchey. She's been pushing Rose to take control, because she thinks Rose would be inclined to let her do whatever she wants. Until then, she stuck waiting for her parents to pass, but they're stubborn and in good health.
She HATES kids and is mostly taking care of them out of a sense of duty. She's not wicked/abusive, just emotionally constipated and uncomfortable around young people.

(Autobiography)
Greetings! My name is Cirilo G. Lagrosa and I'm currently a senior high school student, particularly a Humanities and Social Sciences student, studying at Gen. Pantaleon Garcia Senior High School. I'm 19 years old, born on May 8, 2004. I'm currently living with my family in Imus, Cavite. We moved a few times due to financial problems and I even remember having a friend with the same nickname as mine way back in Navotas.
Even though my memory was quite blurry, I can still remember how happy I was back then as a 5 years old kid living in Navotas. I had some friends that I could play with and a best friend. I can say that we had a very simple life back then. Having a small house didn't negatively affect us but served as a motivation to work hard for a better life.
Five years later, I was already 10 years old when we finally moved here in Imus, Cavite. I was filled with anticipation for this new and unfamiliar environment. This time, that is 2010, is when I finally started attending school as a kindergarten student. In contrary to my current self, I was really happy attending school every single time. Listening to lectures, reading, and coloring materials is what made my days as a 10-year-old kid. As embarrassing as it sounds, I didn't know basic geography that I asked my mother on the way home, as was mentioned by my teacher, the question "Nakatira daw tayo sa Pilipinas e di ba Cavite yon?". I was quite introverted and I won't talk to people unless I was approached. I only had 1 friend in kinder but it didn't really matter to me. When we moved to Imus, Cavite, we became so close to a family in the neighborhood that we treated each other as family. In that neighborhood, I made a friend who then became my best friend that would last up until now. We're friends for over 14 years now. She's a really good friend to me as she would always include me in almost every sort of activity she doeslike participating in church, helping me become part of drum & lyre band, and more. We haven't had contact for a year now as she's busy with work and we already moved out.
I started elementary during 2011. I made a lot of temporary friends and I honestly miss them. Moving into elementary was quite a culture shock to me as it was a lot different than in kinder. I would be randomly approached by other students asking "kapatid ka ni-", about my older brother, it made me question if he's popular in school. Around 4th grade, I was introduced by my friend to her co-members in the church's children's choir, and around the same time, she helped me join their Drum & Lyre band as Lyre piqued my interest. Playing Lyre has made me really happy. Joining church activities has made me experience a lot of things that are both positive and negative. It was during elementary that I experienced being made fun of as my actions were "not of a boy's". I remember going home one night and hearing that my father got angry as his so-called "friend" called me gay because I mostly hung out with girls. It wasn't that much of a big deal to me back then as I was too innocent for these things.
Around 2017, I started my junior high school life. During 7th grade, I made a friend with a similar interest to me which was playing the lyre. I had a lot of memorable experiences with him like eating as Mang Inasal, making me eat lunch at their home out of nowhere, and more. During 8th grade, I met people telling me that I was "intelligent" and that I just needed to make effort at school. I made great friends and had great teachers. Honestly, I didn't like 9th grade except for my friends who have similar interests as me, anime.
After the school year ended, the lockdown came after some time. I stopped during the 1st quarter of the first online classes as I couldn't adapt to the new normal. During the lockdown, I immersed myself in online games meeting different kinds of people and even making some friends. I was supposed to drop out for the second time but my class adviser home visited me to give me a chance to graduate.
Mid-2022 was when the face-to-face classes were finally brought back and I didn't know what to expect. The two-year lockdown was quite isolating and I forgot the feeling of socialization. Though I'd rather be alone in a room, I still tried my best to socialize. The first day of class with set B was quite memorable and I enjoyed it. In the second quarter, I finally made a friend who made my senior high school life bearable. I encountered a lot of failures in grade 11 until I finally started trying and even got results that far exceeded my low expectations. As a grade 12 student, I'm working hard to give my best and so trying to find out my future career and goals.

Here's Gen 2 of my Lucid Legacy(or well pre-Gen 2 because Giselle needs that Nerd social skill to get her career)!! - I got bored of waiting for the kids to grow so I technically almost completed Generation 1 but I needed a change of scenery, so we're in Starlight Shores though! (It was just skills I didn't completely finish which was maxing the fishing skill but I can complete it once they're out of University) The kids are currently in University! I'll probably end up posting the pictures I got of Gen 1, which isn't really a lot after this first play round posts
Tumblr media
From left to right:
Aidan, Griffin, Chandra(cousin), Autumn, and Giselle(heir)
We were really only supposed to have 3 kids, Aidan, Autumn, and Giselle(in that order), but both of the founders wanted another kid and they both rolled a wish so I had to comply. My founder had siblings that I placed in the world and one of them had a kid which ended up being the same age as Giselle and I really liked their friendship when they were kids so she had to tag along for University!
What freaked me out when taking this picture is that everyone has green eyes, the founder has some strong eye genes and I totally didn't realize. But here's a closeup of everyone:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aidan is studying Physical, Giselle is studying Technology(obvi cause she's the heir), and Griffin, Chandra, and Autumn are all studying Arts

11 questions: tbz ver!!💞
thank you so much for tagging me @seraphimguks this was so fun to do!!🥺💖 I'm also super sorry for being insanely late with this tag, I've had it in my drafts and completely forgot about it </333
name/nickname:  Laura Jane / Kachu/Lala
country/state: Switzerland
which tbz boy is closest in age to you?  Haknyeon, he's 5 weeks younger than me^^ babie :P
who did you first notice in tbz and why? Hmm, this is hard to say. Before I was a deobi, I saw moots talking about Sunwoo and Changmin because they biased them, and I also heard of Eric (and his friendship with Felix) from said friends, and also learned that there's two more English speakers called Jacob and Kevin. I then got shipped with Younghoon once so I looked up their profile to look at him (and the others). Then I decided that Chanhee is the one who catches my eye most and called him /a bias/. After that, I noticed Hyunjun because of his airport fashion that I adored. And eventually it was Kevin and his cute self as Simply Kpop MC who caught my eye so much that I decided to stan (he's still my bias while Chanhee is my most dangerous bias wrecker haha). But honestly, I'm not sure which member I noticed first as I heard of some members through friends and not because I noticed them on my own - soooooo, you guys decide, idk.😂👉🏻👈🏻
favourite laugh in tbz?  This was so hard to decide... tbh, I really like Moonbae's laugh because - and I might be biased here - my own laugh is a mixture of Jacob's giggles and Kevin's mute suffering/dying 🤚🏻😭 But I also really like Chanhee's and Sunwoo's laugh, they're just so straightforward and loud, it's endearing :'))
if you can only meet 3 tbz members, who would it be? either Kevin, Jacob and Eric (no language barrier haha) or Kevin, Chanhee, and Changmin. I'm 100% sure about Kevin though, I need to see my ult <3 😭
first tbz song you ever heard?  uhmmmm, I think that was actually Boy because I watched their music video when they debuted (I thought a group called "The Boyz" that debuts with a song called "Boy" was super hilarious, so I wanted to check it out ajxjjsks) but I didn't start stanning them back then :( As you can see, sometimes I make bad decisions haha
1 unpopular tbz opinion? hmm, I don't think this is an unpopular opinion?? But idk what would be one since I don't really keep up with fandoms' opinions as I focus more on the artists (fandoms - in general - can be toxic, so I prefer not to engage too much and keep fangirling among my friends/mutuals - in a space where I feel comfortable and safe to express myself), so I'll just talk about /an opinion/ - not knowing whether it's unpopular or not akdkskd. So, tbz are still a bit of an "underrated" group, they've gained a lot of new fans through RTK (edit: I wrote this - all questions - before kingdom) but still, I feel like they deserve more recognition, especially for their performances. I feel like they're one of the best 4th gen performers (I will never forget RTK Reveal stage and Reveal/Checkmate MAMA stage - Hyunjae and Sunwoo going up on that thing - that I don't know what it's called in English - is SO AMAZING, LIKE WHUAT??? Honestly, these will always belong to my favourite performances because it was seriously mind-blowing.
I MEAN LOOK AT IT;;;;;;;
Tumblr media
WOW-
So yes, I just feel like they'd deserve a lot more appreciation and recognition for these amazing stages that they deliver!! They must be working SO hard and they're so in sync and just aaaah, it's so satisfying to watch them dance and perform, you know. The world is missing out,,,,🤧🤧
another edit: add their kingdom performances to the list too, because wow, I loved them all so much, they're SO talented!!!😭😭😭
which tbz member is most similar to you? I actually rewrote this answer because I always thought it was Kevin... I still believe we have lots in common but I recently found out that - astrology wise (according to the pattern app) - I'm /very similar/ to Jacob!! The pattern app tells you how similar you are to other people based on your birth charts and there's similarity levels from: very different < somewhat similar, but mostly different < similar < very similar and I kid you not, I've probably looked at my similarity level with at least 100 people (idols, family members, friends) and while I've gotten "similar" with lots of people - Kevin for example - I've only gotten "very similar" with 3 people so far. And one of those 3 people just so happens to be Jacob, so wow! I had no idea that we're that similar based on our charts - but I guess our air sun and shared Leo rising and also shared Virgo & Pisces placements make it make sense ෆ╹ᴗ╹ෆ sorry for the ramble, I'm still so overjoyed with being so similar to him🤚🏻😭
most underrated tbz song? In my not so humble opinion, I'd like to name two of my faves - Shake You Down and Summer Time <3333
give us a good pic of your bias.
excuse me but how am I supposed to choose JUST ONE when Kevin looks like a full course meal in every pic???✊🏻😔 Just look at him-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also, please don't hate me but I really miss his longer hair, I'm currently in mourning😭😭😭
tagging: @interstellix @http-peachie @jellihye @oddlittlefandomist @key201303 @stealerz and any other deobi - Idk who else of my moots stans them, so pls feel free to do this and tag me so I can see your answers!!^-^💞💞💞

1, 2, 4, 5, 11, 13
Honestly I would do all of them but that seems like a lot for one ask
1. Favourite game(s) in the series?
My favorite games in the series are absolutely the first trio that I've played: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. It's just so nostalgic and wholesome and I just love that trio to bits and pieces, and the story is just so beautiful and tragic and I cried and... you get the idea.
2. Do you prefer the 2D or 3D games (in terms of style or the games in general)?
I prefer the 2D games. I actually prefer all of the Pokemon games in a 2D style, but that might just be me being stuck in the past in that regard. I grew up with 2D Pokemon games and Pokemon Pearl was the first Pokemon game that I actually beat (the first Pokemon game I ever got to the Elite Four with was FireRed). I'm a '99 kid, so I'm a touch retro, I guess. 2D pixelated graphics is just so charming to me.
4. What were your hero characters like before being turned into Pokemon? What did they look like and how were their lives? Do they ever recover any of their memories?
Hmm! I've never thought about it! I suppose in regards to how the main character in Explorers of Sky is, I suppose I imagine them mostly as a character that is firm and determined to the end, with their companion Grovyle. They're resolute and determined, and their life was difficult and bitter in the perpetual stasis that the world existed in. I never put much thought into how they look, but I like to imagine that they got their memories back at some point and have found peace with themself, even if their companion Pokemon is no longer with them.
5. Which Pokemon from Gen 7-8 would you consider potential hero/partner options, outside of the regular Starter Pokemon?
Oh! Hmm. Hmm, that is. An excellent question. I didn't play Gen 7 or Gen 8. Keeping in mind that I know literally nothing about them and am just looking through them as I go, I think! I think it'd be interesting to have a dragon option to start off with. So maybe the Jangmo-o line if we're going by Gen 7. In Gen 8, I have to admit that I do think that the Impidimp line is pretty neat. I'm sort of tempted to say them. Or maybe even Farfetch'd, so you can play around with Sirfetch'd! I suppose. Maybe. Maybe.
11. Any headcanons that take place after the games that you want to share?
I just like Darkrai, okay? Rise of Darkrai has tainted my vision, and he deserves a second chance. I like to imagine that he might eventually regain his memory and earnestly regret all that he's done, though he might not outright say it. ALSO HOT TAKE: PMD DARKRAI IS TRANS. Assigned genderless at birth. Goes by he/him. I love him. He is valid. Hell yeah.
13. Free pass to talk about anything you want!
Every single PMD game should have the opportunity to take multiple jobs at once. That's something that Darkness/Time/Sky have spoiled me with, as the first PMD games that I attempted to play, and that is something that I haven't had in any PMD games that I've tried to play afterwards. There's just such a rush of delight when you get so many jobs done at once--it makes you feel productive, it makes you feel like you worked hard and that you deserve those rewards that you are getting. And I love it. It's such a great feature! Someone make a mod to put that in Rescue Rangers. Please.

I was able to get an old portable dvd player (thank you parents of the past, it is much appreciated in the year of '21, and thank you sister for keeping it somewhere we could find it) and after buying the cable and charging it, I started watching that Transformers dvd I got some time ago.
Turns out its TF Generations, so we're watching "through the cube" which alright, nice to get the nostalgia going for the parents, while also getting the attention of the kids with the constant rotating scene from scene. Kind of annoying for me but hey, that's just my attention problems.
It has two episodes: More Than Meets the Eye, Part 3 and Auto Berserk and here's my thoughts on the dubbing:
I actually missed dubbing from my childhood, and the fact Soundwave, Spike, Red Alert and Mirage have female VAs brings me intense amounts of joy. I didn't even know I will be so happy to hear this old, somewhat crappy dubbing. I missed it and didn't even know it.
The crowd cheers are pathetic just as I remember them XD
"Ti ne bi mogel voditi androidov na piknik." alright, alright, nice change of a joke that doesn't translate, but that means Megatron (and other Cons probably) discriminate against androids.
The "Transform and roll out! " sounds... strange. Then again it is a dub and I didn't watch this as a kid XD
The way slovene is spoken has me smile and cringe because it sounds so formal but it actually isn't. It might also be the way language evolved. It could also be my lack of watching dubs for a long long time.
Za slovenski folk: "Spremenite se, pa pojdimo!". Ta "Pa pojdimo" me ubije. Uporabili so ga samo enkrat, "Spremenite se" pa je prisoten pri skoraj vsakem transformiranju, ampak tisti resni glas s takim stavkom XD
In total I think there are 3 guys and 1 girl dubbing this. I guess this is similar to what we have today, with the difference the old folks DON'T try to change their pitch... I think. Multiple characters have the same VA amd you can clearly tell it's the same one. (I also think there might be two girls in the new dub group, but I'm not sure).
I wonder why, aside from musicians and comedians, we don't have more voice actors??? Or trained voice actors?
I have no place to really talk, because giving voice to characters is an art, and not everyone can be Frank Welker. So unless I myself go into the dub buisness, I am keeping my mouth shut and congratulating the dubbers.
10 for the effort and execution
(even if the older gen knew how to make falling on the ground sound more realistic. Yes I am still not over Cyberverse Windblade being yeeted across the desert and her screaming and grunting so softlya when she bounces off the floor. But as I said, being a VA is tough work and my nostalgia might also be affecting my viewing of the newer stuff)
So to wrap up the dub experience:
Tumblr media
and down here are some of my thought process while watching the two episodes:
who was going to tell me that G1 Prime has a blue underside of his crotch plate? How come I never saw that anywhere?? This has so much potential and jokes about interface difficulties, if I don't find at least one joke in a crackfic about it I will be disapointed.
I love Optimus' head shape and finials, he looks adorable.
I'll watch G1 eventually, but if Spike really does write in his diary about how Optimus would make a good president I am high fiving the lil bastard.
You know you are in too deep when you see a 2D warlord and can't stop smiling. Bitch, I don't even fully know you but BY FUCK do I love the design and mannerisms!!! OG Megatron, 10/10, and I may be biased because childhood dubbing, but they picked a good VA for him.
Great VA choice for Starscream too! And he is very pretty as well, damn, I can see why people love G1 even without nostalgia!
Ravage, what can I say. Good casette. (Also love how he doesn't speak to the Autobots, but comms Megatron)
SPEAKING OF TALKING: Skywarp requesting permission to teleport and his interaction with Megs made me smile so much LOOK AT HIM, LOOK AT OUR TELEPORTING BOY!!! He shoots for shit, is awful at it, but look at him go!
Unicron singularity might be the answer to why Ironhide and Bluestreak can fly, but I'm not sure.
In any case I love how Optimus speaks to Ironhide, it's great. Heck, the Autobots dynamic and interactions are great. I can see why people say Optimus is a dad, or why they talk about how the Autobots are like a family.
Also we see slow motion of how OP transforms and I adore it!
And how he acts too! He is stubborn and it takes multiple attempts to persuade him from sacrificing himself/trying to do his duty as a leader when it's too dangerous. He listens to his friends and soldiers, but isn't hapoy about it. He acknowledges the risk.
Back to blue underside crotch however: IT'S JUST A BLUE LIL SQUARE UNDER ALL THAT WHITE! WHAT PURPOSE DOES IT SERVE ASIDE FROM BEING PRIME'S LIL GARAGE??? COME ON! COME ON!! A blue trussy, I mean tfp had a bikini situation going on, but G1 Prime has just a tiny rectangle/square! I don't even know the shape but it's BLUE ON WHITE CAN IT STAND OUT EVEN MORE??? (And here I thought the Megatron toy and the trigger crotch were bad XD)
Seeing Starscream manipulate Red Alert had me smiling. Look at this tri colori squeak toy jet. Being his eviiil self.
Seeing how Megatron interacts with his other Cons is just hilarious. He is a TERRIBLE boss if you make a misstep. So mean! ...Then again, he is bent on destroying the autobots if he can't get to Cybertron first, so *shrugs* the guy can be a lil frustrated I suppose. He does pick on Screamer alot however, and the dynamic of these two has me understand MegaStar much better.
They are a bickering old couple that joke about how they'll kill eachother, but never go fully through with it. Must be true love~
All in all, glad I got that dvd. Megatron has screen time in it, the animation is ridiculously pretty in that old show way and even if the episodes were probably selected at random for the dvd it was interesting to watch.
I love it. Can't wait to watch G1 when my brain allows it, and I will forever wonder if actual G1 was also dubbed fully.
