On my freaky close friends stobin shit
Robin was well aware her and Steve were closer than most friends, scarily so. They showered together when they were at her house due to her family not having a huge hot water tank like his. They slept in the same bed no matter whose house they were at, despite the fact they both slept naked due to overheating in their sleep. They had seen each other naked more times then they could count. They frequently went skinny dipping in his pool late at night.
They were practically one person living in two separate bodies. They knew everything about each other. That included all the details of the other's sex life. They have had many conversations about what they prefer in bed, and Robin had a very vivid mental image of what Eddie Munson looked like naked, all the way down to the dick piercing, although she had never seen it firsthand. It didn't matter that Steve liked boobies. He didn't like hers.
So when she was sitting at home minding her business and got a snap from Steve along with the instruction to not open it in front of other people, she wasn't too concerned.
Steeb: don't open that around other people
Bobin: what am i about to open??
Steeb: i just need to make sure it doesn't look weird before i send it to Eddie
Bobin: i think all dicks look weird babe. But ill look to make sure it doesn't look weidER than normal.
Steeb: hwo did you know it was a dick pic
how*
Bobin: what else would you send to eddie that im not allowed to open around other people?
Steeb: fair point
Bobin: lower the camera a little. Your dick looks short
Steeb: Thanks robbie. Ur the best
Bobin: you know we are the weirdest friends ever right? You just sent a lesbian your dick pic
Steeb: you had me grab ur boob the other day because you thought you had a lump
Bobin: i was CONCERNED
Steeb: ill text you later. eddie is calling
Bobin: take my stuffed animal off your bed. Sir franklin shouldnt witness such behavior
Steeb: on it. Love you bobbie!!
Bobin: love you stevie

Bet you didn't know how Eddie found out Steve was Bi.
It was at a club in Indianapolis of all places. He and Steve, along with Robin and Vicki, had made their way to the city for a weekend of fun.
And some recognizance apparently.
Steve was convinced Vicki was into boobies, and at some point had made it his mission to prove such information to Robin. His location of choice? One of the biggest gay clubs in Indiana.
How Steve knew of the place made no sense to Eddie. Well at least not right away. Now though, now he knew Steve was…
Steve was:
A little fruity.
A friend of Dorothy.
A real cocksucker.
Steve Harrington was all of the above apparently.
To Eddie's utter bafflement.
And outstanding joy.
But sitting at the bar with the man in question by his side, Eddie hadn't known that yet. He was helplessly pining over a friend he thought he'd never have the faintest of a chance with. Watching from the side lines, imagining himself as the hot brunette in Steve's strong arms when the man would occasionally make his way to the dance floor.
They were having a good time. They were drinking, the girls were dancing like a couple of dorks out beneath the shining lights. Everything was going great.
But Eddie could still see from even across the dance floor the longing look in Robin's eyes as she watched Vicki do the sprinkler of all dance moves.
They really were perfect for each other.
“How's mission besties to boobies going? You think you'll have Robbie sucking on a tit by the end of the night?”
Sitting on the bar stool next to him, Steve snorts into his drink, choking on a laugh as he turns to admonish Eddie, “Jesus man.” He coughs around the fruity drink clogging his throat. “Robin would punch you in the jugular if she heard you say that.”
Eddie smiles to himself, just happy that he made Steve laugh. “Well good thing she's out there with Vicki then. Really though, any closer to helping them figure their shit out?”
Just as Steve's about to answer, both of their eyes watching the girls, they watch as some tall blonde jock approaches Vicki.
In the same instant they catch Robin's expression crumble.
“Mother fucker.” Steve huffs before he turns back to the bar and orders Robin's favourite drink. A Blue Hawaiin topped with more fruit than Eddie's eaten in the last year. Bright and flashy, decorated with a tiny purple umbrella.
Robin joins them not a minute later, sweat damp hair sticking to her forehead as she sighs sadly and falls face first with a groan into Steve's chest.
Eddie would be jealous if he didn't feel so bad for Robin.
The poor girl is nearly at her wits end.
For months her and Vicki have been going through a will they won't they type of thing.
Christ, they even kissed at one of Steve's little parties. Under the guise of spin the bottle, but it still happened and lasted way too long for Vicki to not have enjoyed it.
But then the next day, Eddie remembers Vicki talking about Dan. Her on - off boyfriend who apparently, judging by Steve's seething and Robin's near blubbering is the guy with his arms around a very annoyed looking Vicki's shoulders.
Robin's pulled herself from between Steve's beautiful beasts and is now leaning against the man, standing between his legs as he hugs her and she solemnly nibbles at her skewered fruit with her chin hooked over Steve's shoulder.
He's saying something to her that Eddie doesn't catch, but he notices how it makes Robin smile.
Albeit a little sadly.
Turning his attention away, Eddie takes a sip of his drink, stares daggers into Dan's soul on Robin's behalf and lets the Wonder Twins have their moment.
Amidst wishing Dan to drop dead, through the blaring music Eddie eventually hears Steve's determined tone.
“I'll do it, Rob.”
Curious, Eddie tunes in.
“You're not doing anything.”
“Mmmmh nope. I'm gonna do it.” Eddie nearly hears Steve's nod of resolution as he keeps his eyes on the gyrating crowd before them. He sounds determined. Surly staring his own form of ill will into Dan's soul, Steve continues, “He keeps dragging her on, which means she's dragging you on. And I can't let that happen.”
Robin sighs, “Steve.”
“Robin.”
Eddie can damn well hear them staring one another down.
It's rather loud.
As is the blatant telepathic convention they're having now.
After a moment of lord only knows what they've communicated to each other through a series of complicated facial expressions, Robin sighs again, apparently having accepted defeat, “You're a bitch.”
“You love me.”
“I hope you get Crabs.”
Eddie snorts to himself as he finally turns to take in the two next to him. Robin's now occupying Steve's previous bar stool and Mr. Great Tits and Tight Levi's himself is standing with the bitchiest expression known to man, staring Robin down, who sips her drink and appears unfazed.
And then Steve smirks.
“I literally watched you shave your chin hair with the razor I use on my balls. If I get Crabs you're coming down with me.”
Robin hardly looks bothered as she bites a hunk of pineapple from her skewer, seeming in a much better mood than when she'd arrived.
“You whore. Course you shave your balls.” She mumbles around the fruit in her mouth.
“Not everyone likes to have a jungle bush, Robin.”
Their continued nattering is lost to Eddie as he remains hung up on the idea of Steve's balls. Are they clean shaved, trimmed, artfully maintained?
He's pathetic. Eddie's well aware. Daydreaming of Steve's Adonis like body isn't new in the slightest.
He apparently wonders for so long that when he tunes back to reality, Steve and his decidedly trimmed balls are gone.
He looks to Robin who downing the remainder of her drink.
She shrugs, as if that explains anything.
Then he sees Steve at the other end of the bar talking to Vicki's maybe boyfriend.
It looks heated.
God, is Steve going to fight this guy? Fuck. Eddie's scrappy but he's never had a great track record with Jocks and he knows Steve and all of his monster fighting abilities means nothing when it comes to fighting people. He remembers the guy getting his ass handed to him by Byers. And Hargrove. Like he gets Billy, the guy was fucking insane. But Johnathan? Steve doesn't stand a chance against this guy. He's got at least twenty pounds on Steve.
Steve's going to get his ass kicked and Eddie's not going to be any help. Sure he'll try, throw a punch, maybe play dirty and move his rings over to his other hand so it hurts more, but otherwise he's got nothing.
All bark, no bite.
Fuck, what if the guy has friends here?
Eddie looks back to Robin who's now leaning back against the bar, watching as Vicki dances in the distance, giggling to herself as she waves at Robin then proceeds to do that shopping cart.
The sweet, ginger haired little dork.
Again, their perfect for each other.
“Steve's not really going to fight that guy is he?”
Robin snorts.
“Yeah, with his dick maybe.”
What?
“What?”
Robin waves him off with a limp wrist and plunks her empty glass onto the bar top behind her with a dull thud.
And then she's off.
Leaving Eddie with that tidbit of information.
She was joking, right? Right?
She had to be joking.
“Robin?!”
His voice is either lost to the music or she's ignoring him.
Probably the latter.
By the time Eddie turns his attention back to the end of the bar, he catches Steve giving Dan a playful tug to the belt loops and an expression Eddie can only describe as a smoulder.
Then Steve's pulling this guy by the hand to the men's bathroom.
What the fuck did he miss?
Jesus H Christ.
—
Twenty minutes and one tequila shot later, Eddie watches as Dan goes scurrying by from the bathroom to the exit, still tucking his fucking polo into his pants.
Lucky bastard.
A moment later, Steve returns.
Hair messy, pupils blown, shirt untucked and …
No.
It's that?
There's a small dot of milky white on Steve's chin.
Fucking hell.
Steve plops down in his chair, steals Eddie's beer and downs the remaining half, finishing it with a content sigh.
For the longest time Eddie's speechless.
Staring at Steve and the fucking splatter of come left on his chin.
What the actual fuck?
“What?”
Steve must've noticed.
Christ and it's not like Eddie can let the guy go walking around with that.
“You've got, uh, something on your chin…”
And like he knew it was there, knew exactly where it was, Steve wipes the evidence of his earlier rendezvous away.
Eddie can't help but continue to stare.
And like an idiot he decides to open his mouth. “Did you just…?”
And like it's nothing, Steve answers.
“Suck off Vicki's ex then threaten him with bodily harm if he ever bothers her or Robin again? Yeah. And?”
And?
And?!
Since when did Steve suck dick?!
Eddie's careening towards a level two gay fucking melt down when Steve decides to continue, sounding every bit offended and confused. “Is that gonna be a problem?”
“No!” Eddie answers immediately, hands up in defence. Steve's expression softens just a touch. “No. No, fuck, Steve. No, not at all. It's just-” well he didn't know and he and Steve are good enough friends Eddie figured something that important to Steve's person, he'd know. “I just didn't know.”
Steve's nose scrunches in that cute way that always makes Eddie feel like dropping dead, and then almost sounding like he's surprised, Steve laughs, “You- hah- Eddie! You didn't know!?”
“No!”
“No wonder,” Steve more so says to himself before ordering both him and Eddie another drink.
He doesn't continue until he's had a sip of whatever fruity monstrosity he's drinking now. “I've been flirting with you for months, Ed.”
“Yeah well I thought you were straight.” Eddie grumbles, feeling like a fucking idiot. Had Steve really been flirting with him? Had all of the lingering touches and seemingly longing stares all been intentional.
Jesus. Fucking. Fuck.
Steve had asked him if he wanted to fool around a couple weeks ago and Eddie thought he was joking.
Shit.
“What?” Steve says, halfass sounding offended, “Like it would have made a difference. Dude you've made it obvious you're not interested.”
“I- what?”
Steve shrugs, “Yeah. No hard feelings man. I get it. I'm not your type.”
“Not- not my type!? Steve! My beautiful beautiful boy, I am so interested. I'm painfully interested. I'm so interested I jack off to the idea every night, interested.”
He's just going to ignore the fact he said that aloud.
It's worth it for the blush that rises to Steve's cheeks anyways. “Yeah?”
“Fuck yeah.”
“So you wanna?”
“Absolutely annihilate each other in the men's bathroom?” Eddie asks confidently, truly hyping himself up so he doesn't freak out, downing his drink and standing to offer Steve his hand, “ Yes please.”
But not taking his hand and running to the bathroom to hopefully suck each other off, Steve stays sitting, staring at Eddie's offered hand. And just when Eddie starts to think he's fucked this all up before it's even started, Steve stutters his response
“ I- well- I was thinking more like a- a movie and milkshakes, or something?”
Oh.
Oh this isn't just sex to Steve.
Thank God.
Eddie wasn't entirely sure how his heart would have handled the alternative.
Did Steve Harrington just ask him on a date?
“Yeah.” Eddie answers, a little breathless, a little bashful.
“We can do your thing to if this is just-”
“No. No, Steve. It's really not. I feel like a fucking schoolgirl, man. All giddy and shit. I just never thought-”
“You're kinda hard not to want Eddie.” Steve interrupts him.
And isn't that a fucking line.
Maybe…
“Both?” Eddie asks, only for Steve to raise a brow
“What about both?”
“Oh!” Steve shouts, catching the attention of a few people, one of which being Robin who was wandering hand in hand with Vicki to the bar, “Yeah. Fuck yeah.” He downs his drink just as Eddie had and finally takes Eddie's offered hand.
On their near sprint to the men's bathroom, Eddie's sure, through the buzz of his own brain and the blare of music he hears Robin's raspy voice shout, “Enjoy my besties bald balls, Munson!”

Chrissy kind of wants to cry.
Her body always seems to want to do that at the first hint of peace she can find. In a bathroom stall, at the rotting picnic table behind the school, and now in the basement at Nancy Wheeler’s house, surrounded by still, sleeping bodies. She can’t help but find their presence soothing, even if their warmth doesn’t reach the cold vinyl of her sleeping bag, even if the gentle rhythm of their breathing can’t be heard over the sound of Olivia Newton-John’s voice clogging her ears.
Would the song even work if she got sick of hearing it so much? Can any song keep her safe if she keeps associating music with life-or-death?
Chrissy’s supposed to be sleeping, or supposed to be trying, at least. But she can’t hear the huffs, can’t feel any warmth, can’t even smell over the stench of highschool boy’s body spray— so Chrissy doesn’t try to sleep, even if she has a comparatively easy song to fall asleep to. She just watches, still as if she were out like they are, watching those tiny movements in the bodies around her.
Chests rise and fall slowly, languid unlike any other moment from the day. Some people twitch or stir—just barely—as their bodies dream, hopefully of something far removed from everything that’s happening now. It’s only half the room in her line of sight, but something about watching even just a part of the life around her makes it easier to feel the rest of it there.
It’s nice. Really nice, compared to the past twenty-four hours. And for some twisted reason, that makes tears prick at Chrissy’s eyes.
Her song starts again, a rhythmic melody that had made her sway in her seat the first dozen times she listened to it today. A melody that somehow—even after literal hours of hearing it over and over and over and over and over—still takes her to a time unblemished enough to keep her from letting Vecna end it all.
The beginning instruments all cut off so Olivia can start singing, new instruments coming in to replace them, but they’re not the same. Chrissy swallows, but a tear still falls, tickling her skin down towards her ear before it stops, falling and soaking into the flattened pillow that smells like the same musty body spray as the rest of this cruddy basement.
“Chrissy,” a voice whispers from behind her, said like it isn’t the first time they’ve called, barely audible over her music. Chrissy pushes up slightly, just enough to look behind her, to find Steve sitting up and keeping watch on the couch, leaning towards Chrissy as much as he can with Robin sleeping on his lap. His eyes stay focused on her through the dark, looking maybe for rolled back eyes or waiting for her to start muttering in tongues, but Chrissy only looks back and waits.
“You okay?” he whispers through the dark, again just barely loud enough. Chrissy nods to him, and turns down her music a notch or two.
Steve keeps looking like she never responded. Maybe—hopefully—because it's too dark to see and not because he expects a different answer with enough waiting. Chrissy swallows a lump in her throat, and answers again.
“I'm okay.”
Steve hears her—he has to—but he keeps looking at her that same way. Attentive, and a little on edge.
Chrissy slides one side of her headphones off her ear so she can hear her own whispers.
“I’m fine, I promise.” She says, loud enough that he has to hear her—or believe her—yet still low enough to mask the way her throat tightens around the words.
Steve hums, a soft thing that blends with the sounds of the room, but Chrissy can make it out.
“Come up here.” He whispers, nodding over to the small sliver of couch left next to him, just big enough to fit her. Or, big enough if she were like Robin and could just half-lay on pretty people without feeling electricity seize her body from head to toe. Chrissy opens her mouth to politely decline and save both of them the awkwardness, but Steve picks that moment to look away—look down to Robin—and lift her ever so slightly, ever so gently, to scoot them over and make the space next to him more comfortable.
“You didn’t have to do that.” Chrissy whispers but finds herself getting up anyway, padding over quietly as Steve settles, Robin slumping back down onto his lap without stirring.
“It’s no big deal,” He mutters, a soft smile pulling at his lips, still looking down at Robin, “She sleeps like the dead like this.”
Chrissy hums, and Steve looks up.
“Or– like a baby, I guess is a better word for it right now.”
“It’s fine.” Chrissy insists, taking a seat next to him, settling into the corner with a respectable distance between them– a distance that the rest of her doesn’t seem to pick up on, unfortunately, but respectable at the very least.
Steve hums and watches her, trying to do it subtly out of the corner of his eye, but even just a day around the real Steve is enough for her to know what worry looks like on him.
Fortunately for her, he doesn’t push. And when Chrissy busies herself with getting comfortable in her new couch corner, Steve looks away, absently combing through Robin’s hair as he plays casual.
“Rough sleeping with music always in your ears?” Steve asks, a lightness of humor there that she wishes was the only thing tied to that question.
“Not too bad, actually.” she says, pairing it with a little smile and hoping it’ll convince them both that she’s alright. “Especially out of all the other songs from Grease. The walkman itself is probably more annoying.”
“Yeah, my ears do not envy you there.” Steve huffs, smiling a little, making Chrissy’s smile come a little easier before they both run out of things to say and the levity falls off both their faces. Chrissy’s dropping faster with no eyes on her to keep up the charade for, while Steve’s falls slowly, slips into neutral as he gets caught up in thought once again.
Chrissy gets to keep a few moments to herself before she catches Steve glancing at her again through the corner of her eye. She pretends not to notice, holds her neutrality for a few nauseating seconds before she sighs, closing her eyes and drawing her knees to her chest in a way that turns the subtle glance into full-force attention.
“Do you think…” She starts, but finds the words stopping before they can get out of her head. Does he think she’ll die? Obviously he’s not going to tell her if he does.
“Eh, sometimes.” Steve answers, shrugging lightly in a way that's playful but not flippant enough to derail the conversation.
Chrissy huffs from the tinge of amusement, then tries again.
“Have you wondered what would happen if we got tired of our songs?”
“Not yet, to be honest. But I figure we’d try to find new ones.” He says, quick enough that it feels like a simple answer to him. But even still he considers it, even if it’s just to show her he’s taking her worries seriously. “I mean, if the whole point is picking a song that reminds you about what’s good in life, I’d figure there’s got to be at least a decent handful of them that’d work.”
Chrissy hums, resting her head onto her knees as she considers. It feels like a simple enough thing, just find songs that remind you of good things, but as she combs through the library in her head, she’s not sure she has as many of those as the others do. Or at the very least, not ones that haven't been sullied by other memories or the things she’s learned since then. Birthday parties with a Chrissy that didn’t think twice about what was in those cakes, sleepovers with girls that had a lot more to say in the halls than they did in their bedrooms. She should count herself lucky that out of all the songs she had loved, she still had one of her favorites.
Though she supposes she should also count herself lucky for even being alive right now. If circumstances were different, she might’ve genuinely felt it.
“To be honest, I’m more worried about how Max doesn’t seem bothered by listening to the same thing nonstop.” Steve chimes in again, that sweet little note of humor back, and though it still makes her smile—truly smile, at both the humor and the intent behind it—it can’t fully lift her out of the headspace she keeps crawling into.
Still Chrissy hums along with him, the sweetness she puts into her voice just as erosive as the added sugars she keeps an eye out for.
“The magic of a really good artist, I guess.”
“Maybe. Though I know I’d still get tired of it no matter who’s voice I’m blasting.” Steve replies, tone light as if he didn’t notice how fake her tone was, and just that thought grants Chrissy an ounce of real levity.
“Even Freddie Mercury.” Chrissy asks with teasing scrutiny.
“I plead the fifth.” Steve smiles mischievously, and when Chrissy raises a suspicious eyebrow at him, he lets out a small but genuine laugh that Chrissy wants to mirror desperately.
Steve hushes himself quickly enough, but Robin still stirs in his lap, groaning and tucking her face down into the denim of Steve’s jeans as if they were somehow comfortable enough to put her back to sleep. But then again, Chrissy figures they don’t have to be, as Steve’s hand finds it’s way back to her hair again, carding his fingers gently and intentionally as Robin stills and soon returns to slow, sedated breathing.
Steve sighs, not tense or aggravated, just restful, like the mood of before was so calm that any change in it counted as disturbance. And then within seconds, he’s back, glancing once over to Chrissy again before looking back at Robin as he continues.
“Rob’s probably the type to be fine listening to most of her music over and over.” He hums, “Not that she needs it. The second she even thought that music might be it she shoved all the tapes she could find into her bag—including our manager’s, actually—”
“Your manager’s?”
“Yeah, Keith’s in for a bit of a surprise soon.” Steve laughs again, “Point is, though,” Steve looks back at her with a new, almost concerning level of sincerity once again veiled as small-talk. “Robin has a pretty good stash of other music in her bag and I’ve got a handful in the glovebox, too, so if you want to pick a couple backups to keep on you…” He shrugs instead of finishing with any extra nod to the favor he’s offering, and Chrissy’s conscience appreciates the discretion.
“Yeah, that’s probably a good idea.” she mutters, figuring at the very least that it wouldn’t hurt to look, maybe pick a couple that’d sound nice, even if she doubts anything from after 79’ would spark any good memories, the thought itself is sweet enough to make her sincerely grateful. “Thank you.”
“‘Course. It’s all up to you, just know it's an option.”
Chrissy hums and nods, not really wanting to continue the conversation but also lacking anything else to start talking about next.
Really, she only gets a few seconds to think about it before Steve’s glancing her way again, eyes lingering to study her and somehow sneaking inside towards the softest parts of her, all right under her nose.
“You’re doing good, y’know?” Steve says, quiet as anything else they’ve said tonight, but Chrissy finds it deafening. “This shit sucks… so much. But your still here, still sticking together, still keeping up with the kids—which, believe me, is a feat in of itself.” He huffs to himself, before glancing back to Chrissy with raw compassion. “I know all of it’s… smothering, almost. Too big and too stressful, but you’re doing great, alright? And we’re gonna make it work out.”
He’s lying, obviously, Chrissy hasn’t done jack-shit and Steve just wants to make her feel better– so Chrissy nods—on reflex, almost—because she knows to take a compliment—to take comfort—when it's being given to her. She knows so she nods and tries to just take Steve’s words with a polite smile and a polite nod but–
Her eyes water and tears fall too fast, too many goddamned tears coming and spillingout and she tries—God, she tries— to keep them back and to smile and show him it worked, shes good now, thank you—but she’s failing, failing miserably, so she falls back on breathing– breathing normally and praying he can’t see her crying through the dark–
“Chrissy, I mean it.” Steve says, with the softness of sincerity that—regardless of whether she believes him or not—breaks through the last of her defenses, letting a small, pitiful sound choke its way out of her throat.
“Chris–”
Chrissy stands—giving up on looking okay in favor of being quiet—and wipes her face, looking around for the bathroom door that Nancy said would be down here.
“Chrissy, hey–” Steve whispers, a hand finding her arm gently—not grabbing, just touching—and while it tempts her so heavily, instinct leads her away.
“It’s fine– don’t wake Robin–” Chrissy chokes on her own words and aborts, going towards the bathroom, ignoring Steve trying to whisper-call after her, ignoring how he whispers to himself before the couch squeaks, ignoring his footsteps coming up until they’re right behind her– and Chrissy stops and flings around and–
Turning catches Steve off guard—enough to stop him a foot or so away—and makes him retract an outstretched arm.
“Chrissy, it’s okay.” Steve insists, struggling for words to say next and doing nothing to keep it from taking over his face. “Look, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean–”
“Stop.” Chrissy says– tries to say, even though it comes out wet and weak and crackly– “You’re fine, I promise–”
It doesn’t sound final but it’s all Chrissy can get out—is all that she really needs to. Tears keep coming like she’s a broken faucet and Steve’s still standing there—already knows she’s crying and isn’t going to ignore it—so she just covers her face with her hands, cold fingers cooling unruly flames of embarrassment, and tries catching her breath.
“Wha’s…?”
Chrissy doesn’t try to recognise the voice, just jolts up at the new sound and finds Robin up and walking towards them, going slow and rubbing her face like a rough morning.
“Rob, now’s not–”
“Are you crying?” Robin says as she drops her hand and gets a barely decent look at Chrissy, voice sounding suddenly wide awake, face skipping confusion and going straight to concern as she turns to check Steve next, “Are you– no, no you're– ok, good, so–” She turns back to Chrissy within another blink. “Are you okay? Or– no, stupid question.”
“No,” Chrissy says, but then Robin’s eyes flash with guilt, “No, no, I– not stupid question, I’m okay, I promise, I–”
“That’s debatable.” Steve interrupts, as kindly as he probably can.
“I am.” Chrissy says before heaving a massive breath and pushing her hands across her face again, all to get herself in any way capable of explaining, “It’s not your fault– or yours, or anyones! I’m not mad or sad or upset or anything– I’m just crying!” Chrissy pauses for another breath, then finishes—with more control than before— “Just crying. And crying in front of people is embarrassing, so…”
Steve and Robin both stay silent, gears turning trying to figure out what to say or do next, and while Chrissy does feel a little bad, a small part of her says they were asking for it.
“I cry a lot.” Robin says, in what seems like a reflex at first, but she keeps going even after she seems to realize what she’s saying, “I cry all the time, like, constantly– or not actually really that frequently but when I do it’s like an absolute behemoth amount of crying, and I love crying– or well, maybe not– no actually I do, if I need to cry then I love to cry, just get it all out, y’know? And this whole thing—the end-of-the-world monster crisis thing—is like a really good reason to need to cry, the most understandable reason to cry—even Steve's cried about it!”
“Yes!” Steve confirms immediately, like he either somehow forgot or the detail didn't occur to him.
“And last time– okay I didn't really cry during it much last time because it felt like there was so much going on like all the time but the second we got Steve a hospital room and I could sit down next to him, I started bawling, like really ugly snotty sobbing, and I cried for, like, three hours straight and one of the nurses kept bringing me water so I wouldn't dehydrate and die because I actually could not stop crying and I didn’t even feel that sad, y’know? I had been way more upset in the middle of the whole thing but I didn’t cry once—”
“Just peed your pants a little.” Steve mutters, catching Chrissy off-guard and making Robin fling immediately over to wack his arm.
“You–” Robin says, pointing at him and scrambling for words, “And you shit your pants twenty minutes in!”
“I what?” Steve whisper-laughs, bordering on a dangerous volume again.
“Yeah, you shit yourself and you smelled so bad–” Robin starts breaking into giggles and struggling to keep her volume down, so Steve somehow decides that covering her mouth with his hand would help. It does, kinda, in that it muffles her laughs until she gets them under control and starts swatting him away.
They collect themselves together, clearly trying to keep attuned to Chrissy without directing the full force of attention on her, but as they both try to manage each other’s clumsiness Chrissy feels the pressure of conversation ease and is just left with Robin’s words and the care that both of them were trying to show. Chrissy wipes her face even though new tears still fall, and steels herself with another breath that finally comes easier than the last.
“Robin.” Chrissy says.
Robin stops, and before Chrissy can chicken out she dives forward and takes Robin into a hug.
Robin’s clearly caught off guard but recovers quickly and wraps her arms around Chrissy tight, leaning in with a cheek pressed into her hair, holding her immediately. Chrissy sobs a little for no good reason but Robin doesn’t let go, doesn’t ask again, just keeps holding on.
Instead of waiting ages for her tears to stop, Chrissy just lets go when her crying quiets down and she no longer feels the need to hide from the people holding her. Chrissy loosens her grip and Robin lets go right after, leaning back to check on her, breaking into a sweet, lopsided grin.
Another hand falls carefully onto her back, and when Chrissy turns around and finds Steve still there quietly trying to check in too, Chrissy lunges forward a second time. Steve holds her tight like Robin did– possibly even tighter as his shoulders curl around her frame, like she’s being tucked inside his chest, safe away from harm.
Chrissy kind of hates pulling away, but by the way both Steve and Robin stay close after letting go, Chrissy gets the feeling that it won’t be hard to get more of that affection from them.
“You ready to go back to the couch?” Robin asks.
Chrissy nods.
“Awesome,” Robin says, taking her hand and leading the way back eagerly, “Cause, like, I don’t know about you but I would love to be sleeping right now– and I don’t regret waking up, obviously, totally a good reason to wake up, I just also love getting a full night’s sleep–”
“Aw, poor Robin, not being asleep right now.” Steve teases, getting quieter as they get to the couch but still being loud enough to annoy Robin.
“Aw, poor Stevie, was already awake when things started happening and only had to wake up once in the middle of the night.” Robin whines back, taking a spot in the corner of the couch and pulling Chrissy down to sit with her.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re so funny, Robbie.” Steve smiles, not making a move to sit down with them. “Where’d you put your bag?”
“Why?”
“Wanna look at the tapes you have.”
“Steve, you don’t have to.” Chrissy
“‘Don’t know what you’re talking about, I just want to listen to– uh… Bowie. Obviously.”
Chrissy huffs, torn between the guilt of a favor and a rush of amusement, but couldn’t help but play along.
“And not your manager’s stellar music taste?”
“Steve!” Robin hissed, “You told her?”
“Yeah, what’s she gonna do? Keith’s gonna know.”
“We don’t know for sure!”
“Yeah we do, his walkman’s basically glued to him.”
“No, it’s not.”
“Not with you cause he likes you, but on a Tuesday close with me and I’d be lucky if he heard me dying.”
“Oh, I think he hears you just fine.” Robin laughs.
Steve sighs with a quick eye-roll before gesturing back to the room.
“Bag. Where?”
“Behind the trunk under the staircase.”
Steve looks at her incredulously but goes to find it, repeating her interesting choice of hiding place under his breath as he goes.
“Did something happen to your other tape?” Robin asks, turning and hitting her with the full force of her concern—and while Chrissy appreciates it, a lot, she needs to look away to relieve some of the pressure and calm some of the heat that hits her cheeks.
“No, no, it’s working fine, I just, uh… was worried I was going to get sick of listening to it all the time.”
“Oh, that’s good,” Robin nods and the intensity of her worry lessens considerably, replaced instead by an almost frantic kind of ramble, “Good as in, like, y’know, that it’s not broken and you’re just being extra cautious, I mean–”
“Yeah, it’s good.” Chrissy smiles, cherishing the way Robin smiles with relief as she realizes she’s being understood.
Robin’s eyes flick slightly to something behind Chrissy so she turns around, catching Steve as he gives a note to a recently awoken Nancy Wheeler and starts finding his way back to the couch around the minefield of sleeping teenagers on the floor. He stops right in front of the couch—in front of Chrissy—and kneels down to open the bag between them for her to see.
“Let Nance know about the new plan.” He mutters, probably softer than he has to, “If by some chance something does happen, she’ll know to try your old tape first.”
Chrissy looks up at his eyes for a moment before turning them down into the bag, impressively full of cassettes, some loose, some in their cases, but almost all of them well-loved. Chrissy reaches in and starts looking through the ones on top, some obviously Steve’s, some obviously Robin’s, some probably Keith’s, and a good many that have to be for both of them. She searches through them blankly for a few minutes before Steve and Robin try helping with suggestions.
“I think some of The Go-Go’s are in there.”
“Steve had ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’.”
“There’s definitely some Cyndi Lauper.”
“What was your old song again?” Robin asks.
“‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’. From Grease.”
Robin hums and stares into the bag. After a second, she starts picking handfuls of them out, picking each one intentionally but still grabbing more than enough for Chrissy to choose from until one catches her eye.
“Wait, wait, wait–”
Robin freezes, looking back to Chrissy with her arms still shoved in her bag, unmoving. Chrissy reaches over and picks up a tape that had already made it to Robin’s lap: a standard-looking cassette without its case and a couple of attempts at hearts drawn on it. It wasn’t the only cassette to have cute drawings—far from it—but it was the first one she saw with wonky hearts scribbled out then copied right next to it, like someone tried, failed, and then was told to bring their failure back instead of hiding it away.
She checks the other side. “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper.
“Steve gave that to me ages ago.” Robin hums, and Chrissy smiles, looking over at the other cassettes with little drawings on them.
“Was it the first one?”
“Second, technically, didn’t draw on Total Eclipse of the Heart until later.”
Chrissy nods, then looks up to Robin again.
“Would you mind…?”
“Oh, yeah, totally. I mean go for it. Worst case scenario: I’m still in touch with my dealer.” Robin jokes, making Steve snort as he stands and drops the bag over by the end of the couch.
Robin gets comfortable as Chrissy goes ahead and switches the tapes in her walkman, going to set her old one on a table nearby. When she turns back around, Robin is laying down on the couch, making grabby hands up towards Steve until he finishes his headcount and turns back around.
“What?” He laughs.
“Get over here, it’s my turn to be big.”
“Hm, if I have to.” Steve laughs and goes to settle with her before pausing and looking back over to Chrissy.
“You want on the couch, too?”
Chrissy goes over towards them and Steve smiles, taking that as her answer.
“We can leave you a spot if you want, or…”
Chrissy flushes but pointedly doesn’t take the offer for the separate spot on the couch, and luckily, Steve and Robin both figure out the answer without her having to say it.
Robin lays on her back half-propped up while Steve basically lays on top of her, spooning but with the little spoon on the verge of crushing the big spoon, but they seem more than content with it, Robin hugging Steve almost like a teddy bear. Steve gives Chrissy the go-ahead, so with her walkman in hand, she carefully takes the spot between him and the back of the couch. She brings the headphones up to her ears just as an arm comes around her back, the new melody fitting the new warmth she’s feeling deep down perfectly.
Chrissy lets one of her hands find Robin’s above her across the polo shirt pillow connecting them. Both the bodies laying with her relax, shifting slightly to get comfortable in their strange arrangement on the cramped couch, but the one thing that stays perfectly consistent is the slow rise and fall beneath her, the feather-light puffs tickling her hair, and the warmth of life enveloping her.
Chrissy knows it’s not perfect. The next few days will be far, far from kind to them. She knows that even when she wakes from this nightmare, she’ll just be stuck right back where she was before, working her ass off at cheer practice during the day and then begging their drug dealer for ketamine at night. The thought will probably never leave her mind.
But right now, Chrissy enjoys the new music playing in her ears, the familiar song with a man and a woman’s voices that feel uniquely alive right now, warm and safe and real.
If you’re lost,
You can look
And you will find me,
Time after time.
If you fall,
I will catch you.
I’ll be waiting,
Time after time.
Chrissy falls asleep. No dreams, no Vecna, just sleep.

A/N: Thank you to @devondespresso for their help on this fic!
Steve was everything to her. Before that night in the mall bathroom, before being captured by the Russians, she hadn’t realized she was missing so much of herself, feeling so hollow inside, but once they got home from the hospital that night, she felt it. Being whole for the first time ever.
She hadn’t realized, but she started crying as soon as her parents started walking her away from Steve to take her home. They were barely down the hallway and out of sight from him when she let out a high-pitched whine, freaking her mom out like crazy. (She felt like she was dying. Like someone was carving that newly found piece of herself out of her chest. She had no idea what was happening; she still hadn’t realized that piece was there just yet.)
Then, footsteps came running down the hall to them, and Steve burst around the corner, throwing his arms around her, and that was it. He ended up coming home with her that night, her parents not even bothering to try and separate them.
The next morning, all her mother said was, “He seems like a really sweet boy. Just try not to get pregnant before you finish school, Birdie,” ignoring the face Robin made at her.
As summer wound on, she began to understand maybe why her parents thought they were a couple. They spent most nights together – either the whole night or at least the evening. Her parents weren’t big TV watchers, so when Steve came over, they’d snuggle on the couch and put on whatever they wanted. Then on nights where the nightmares were bad, he’d crawl into her window. (Her parents put the kabosh on him staying the night after the first week or so after Starcourt. Liberal hippies they may be, but she wasn’t 18 yet, so she ‘couldn’t be having sleepovers like that yet’, and no amount of explaining got them to think she and Steve weren’t dating.)
She spent a lot of time at his house too. Mostly any time his parents weren’t home, which was… most weeks now. (According to Steve, his parents left full-time as soon as he turned 18, only visiting occasionally to make sure he hadn’t burned their house down.)
When they weren’t together, she felt like she was lost at sea with no land in sight. She knew he felt the same way, too; he’d confessed it to her one night in August, whispered under the covers in the dead of night. (She was so mad some days at Nancy Wheeler for how much she hurt Steve, and while she knew Steve had long forgiven Nancy, she thought she never fully would. She’d always carry that grudge for Steve, since he was too kind-hearted to.)
(Where Steve fell short, she made up for it. Where she struggled, he picked up the slack.)
Come October, they started a new job together. (She bullied Keith into scheduling them together for most of their shifts, but she was still in school, so sometimes they had to be separate while he worked days.) The Family Video was nice enough.
With her days filled spending time with Steve, the school year seemed to fly by. Right up until March, when Vecna-slash-Henry-slash-One made his grand appearance. (She was missing the prints now on some of her fingers.)
After that, Chrissy and Eddie joined the group.
One day at work, Steve pulled her into the grimy bathroom, the two of them sitting leaned against opposite walls. “I think I like Eddie,” he told her.
“I know,” was all she needed to say back. (Of course she knew. She knew Steve like breathing.)
“He’s dating Chrissy.”
“Yeah.”
“I really like both of them.”
“I like Chrissy, too.”
“Fuck.”
It ended up working out, all four of them. (Which was quite the surprise to her, honestly. And very… forward-thinking for a place like Hawkins. But since there were four of them, two boys and two girls, it was easy to hide. After all, no one ever believed her when she said she wasn’t dating Steve.)
So SteveandRobin became SteveandRobinandChrissyandEddie in their friends’ minds (which was quite a mouthful). They even started all sleeping in the same bed long before they all moved in together.
No matter how close she got with Chrissy, though, or how close Steve got with both of them, it never felt like they felt about each other. (She could feel it deep in her chest. When she died, it’d be the two of them together, whether that was in sixty years or six – hopefully not that soon, but she never knew, what with the Upside Down. She’d never be without him again, and he’d never be without her.)
(If they could become one person, they would.)
(They were already almost there anyway.)
Nancy and Jonathan and Argyle moved in, eventually. She liked Argyle, and Jonathan was okay. Nancy was… pretty, and sometimes they slept together for fun. (But she’d never forget what happened to Steve.)
Still, she and Steve didn’t change.
The kids got older, and the seven of them had additional partners come and go. People they liked outside their Party that weren’t involved in the Upside Down. No one was permanent like the seven of them were. (Though Eden came close. She just didn’t want to move in with them. Robin understood. Why would you want to move out of one rowdy household just to move into another?)
Still, they stayed the same.
Then he proposed. (This wasn’t really a surprise to her, in the end. Without a ring on her finger, no one outside their small group acknowledged how important they were to each other.)
“My parents are going to think they were right all along.”
“I know. Do you think they’d care if I became a Buckley too?”
“They’d love it. Especially my dad.”
“Really?”
“Of course. They love you.”
They kissed for the first time at the ceremony, and it felt like coming home. (There was no heat or passion when they kissed, but she could feel the platonic love coming from him as their lips met.)
So it ended up not being the last time. He’d peck her in greeting sometimes, or she’d kiss him goodbye. (Never anything more or less than a quick meeting of their lips, but it still felt more intimate than anything she’d ever done before.)
(She never kissed any of the other guys in their group, and she never would. Just Steve. He was always different.)
(He would always be different.)
And now they were married, and no one could keep them apart.
(God, she wasn’t looking forward to birthing six kids for this man.)
(...)
(Of course, she wanted to have kids with him. Just… birth? She watched the same video as everyone else in Sex Ed, and she was not looking forward to getting those kids out, is all she could say.)
(The things she did for him.)

Steve wearing a ring Eddie gifts him as a joke (so he can be less prep/more cool) except Steve ends up wearing it all the time.
Something happens-- Eddie misplaces or otherwise forgets his rings one night, and ends up having to go about the day without them.
He's so used to spinning and fidgeting with them that he feels practically naked. Keeps touching his bare fingers and wincing.
Without asking and mid conversation with Robin, Steve offerings him not Steve's own ring, but his entire hand.
Just gives his hand over to Eddie, an intrusive thought he followed without sparing so much as a second to think it through.
(Eddie plays with the ring on Steve's finger anyway, trying not to blush about it, but very much needing the distraction. )
Robin calls them out about ten minutes in, asking why Steve didn't just take the ring off.
“Oh. I didn't think about that. Sorry Eddie.”
“Don't apologize man, this is better."
Steve nods like that makes perfect sense, and Eddie refuses to elaborate further.
Robin wants to choke them both because they're fucking romance-blind idiots.

The boundaries of Steve and Robin's friendship quickly become all but nonexistent. They can talk to each other about anything, ask each other about anything
And Robin has questions
She's never seen a dick before, has no real intention of seeing one in the future, and finds the concept of them both mysterious and weird. But she can admit to a certain amount of academic curiosity about how they work. And then she remembers that her best friend, Steve, is A Guy™ and could surely answer at least some of her questions
Meanwhile, Steve, due to the aforementioned lack of boundaries, has all but forgotten that he never actually came out to Robin as trans. He's been merrily carrying on just assuming she already knows
These two facts collide one day at Family Video when they're both idly watching some mindless teen movie they've put on for the day while waiting for customers to show up. They reach what seems to be a very contrived skinny dipping scene, which makes Robin think, and she turns to ask Steve, "Hey, do dicks float in water?"
And Steve, without even looking away from the screen, shrugs and asks her, "How the fuck should I know?"
It takes half a minute of silence for him to realize that Robin is staring at him with no small amount of bewilderment and concern
(They later come to the agreement that they'll just have to wait and see if Steve ever gets a boyfriend, and then ask him all their dick-related queries)
#which means poor Eddie is going to have to deal with the both of them throwing weird dick hypotheticals at him#like they're spitballing ideas for a middle school science fair project#platonic stobin#robin buckley#steve harrington#trans steve harrington#ftm steve harrington#stranger things#solar wrote

Okay my recent obsession is just how Weird the rest of Hawkins must think the whole group is, but ESPECIALLY Steve. Steve is weird even in their group and he has no idea. (I also had a realization that his behavior feels so odd because he acts like he’s from the northeast not the midwest. I don’t know how to put this into words but if you’re an american from the NE you get it)
But like, here are some examples of this that I love:
Every time Steve reveals something from his childhood and who ever he is talking to feels themselves aging from the pure trauma of hearing these things
Like he will tell “funny” (read: traumatic) stories from his childhood about like falling off his bike and absolutely destroying his knees, and he dragged his bike home while his knees are dripping blood, and then he couldn’t find the bandaids so he taped paper towels to his knees. He thinks this is funny because he remembers seeing how silly he looked with big bunches of paper towel on his knees. His audience is horrified by the fact that he didn’t even mention finding his parents for help, he automatically did it himself.
He will also talk about the weird beliefs he had or didn’t have like he didn’t have a tooth fairy so when a kid came into kindergarten and showed everyone the coin he got from the tooth fairy Steve cried hard enough to need to go lay down with the nurse because he thought a monster stole the kid’s tooth. He thought something similar about Santa.
He will surprise people with the random things he does or doesn’t know how to do. He blew everyone’s minds when he just knew how to best get blood out of clothes (Nancy had thought he was lying when he told her he could save her clothes in 83). But then they get really sad about why he knows this.
Steve does know how to get most stains out of fabrics and he knows a decent amount about cooking. He doesn’t know how to iron clothes. He knows how to wash dishes or clothes by hand but using the machines ended badly too many times. (He flooded his kitchen with bubbles the first time he tried to use the dishwasher, and he ruined multiple shirts in the washer).
He watched Robin put a shirt in the bathroom before a shower and she explained it was to get the wrinkles out and that changed his life.
I also think he and Eddie met multiple times as kids but they don’t realize it for a while because when Steve talks about the interactions with Eddie a lot of the time he talks about it like the other boy was making fun of him. Eventually he shares a specific enough story that Eddie realizes that the boy with the gap in his teeth who kept leaving things on Steve’s chair at daycare was him. And then Eddie has to explain that he wasn’t bullying him, he thought Steve was pretty and wanted to be his friend.

I need Jonathan coming back to Hawkins thinking it's Nancy&Jon vs Robin&Steve for "Who's the Best Couple" and he just... gets to experience Stobin in the same baffling way Nancy did.
Like...
Nancy: No, you don't get it they're not--
Jon, bragging: Nancy and I have matching scars. It's romantic.
Steve: I plucked a huge, gross hair out of a mole on Robin's back and I'm pretty sure that scarred
Robin: You said it wasn't gross! You said it was normal! I bet you lied about it getting infected too!
Stobin: *bickering*
Jon: *VERY confused*
Nancy, sighs: I tried to tell you.
#jon: so are they dating or are they long lost siblings?#nancy: i havent figured it out yet but i think they might actually just be one person split in two#this is just the beginning of Weird Stobin stuff jonathan has to deal with now#everyone is pretty blasé about it and he kust does not get them at all#stobin#jancy

After defeating Vecna, Steve and Robin move into an apartment together.
Not because they needed to or to save money, just because they wanted to.
But they couldn't even decide on what kind of decorations to put around the apartment, so they just stopped trying to have a theme.
They jusy bought whatever they liked even if it didnt match. And it really didn't match.
The couch was nice, it was black and soft but the rug was blue with a shark on it because Robin thought it was cool.
The vase with the plant that Steve was trying to keep alive in the corner was red.
The poster on the wall, and the only poster on the wall, was Back to the Future because Robin said it was "their movie," even though they both didn't pay much attention when they first saw it.
Everything else around the apartment was a random assortment of colors, either plain or with some silly design. The bowls and plates, the cups and mugs, the mats in the bathroom, the curtains on the wall, everything was all over the place.
Somehow, it ended up looking better than Steve's parents' fancy house and Robin's parents' boring house.
Their apartment had so much personality everywhere, and they both loved it.
#i love the thought of them moving in together#their freindship means so much to me#despite their decorations being weird their apartment is pretty clean#Thanks to steve#stranger things#steve harrington#robin buckley#platonic stobin#platonic with a capital p#platonic relationships#my headcanons#laine writes

Stranger Things WIP… steddie but focusing on stobin!
Munson wasn’t so bad.
Steve had always seen him in the periphery of his vision, though it was only recently, with Dustin’s foray into Munson’s Hellfire group of nerds, that he had noticed him.
Those curled locks were striking, sitting atop his head like a crown; he really was the king of freaks. Steve would see his curls bouncing around as he awaited the children—the one he was not-so-reluctantly friends with through multiple dimensional shenanigans that happened in this shitty small town of theirs. Munson’s smile was wide, a hearty thing, making Steve confused on how Hawkins could ever think of him as evil and satanic. The guy was a snarky shit, that’s for sure, but it was so clearly good-natured.
“Robin,” Steve said, head flopped aside on the countertop of Family Videos’ checkout.
“What?” she groaned in response. Her annoyed voice coming from behind, as she painstakingly rewinded the recent tape given by the annoying middle-aged wives of Hawkins who couldn’t deign to be kind and rewind their own tapes. “Dingus, I’m a little busy here.”
“When’d you realise you like…” Steve began to speak. His voice became a whisper, “Boobies?”
“I’ve told you before! Don’t say boobies, Steve!” She turned towards him, voice raised in her charmingly-snarky tone.
“Come on, it’s boobies, there’s nothing wrong with it,” Steve teased out, before reverting back to his more soft and inquisitive-sounding tone, “Besides, I’m serious.”
Her face changed, softening up as she looked at him, “Really?”
“Really,” he responded, “I swear on Tammy Thompson’s muppet voice.”
Steve felt as if Robin just knew this would be a different type of conversation to their usual ones filled with jokes. This was more akin to the infamous toilet stall drug-fuelled talk which turned them into true best friends.
“I—I suppose I always knew,” she began to confide in him. “Well, not exactly, but I always knew that I was different. I was sitting with my friend—old friend, Kate, and that’s when I knew.”
He had always wondered what Robin’s life was like before they met in through the toils of minimum-wage summer work, and he supposed now would be the time. She was as quiet regarding her past as he was, and he had many things in his past to be ashamed; he couldn’t help but wonder if that was the same case for Robin.
“I saw her there, beside me. Eyes drilling into our other friend, turning red every single time their eyes crossed each other,” Her voice was a raspy soft thing, quiet as she spoke her truth. Speaking aloud something that would be a death sentence to discuss in any other place in Hawkins, with any other person. “And then I just knew, I wasn’t like her. I felt broken.”
“Robin, you’re not—”
“Steve, I know now, but in that moment, all I could think was that I was wrong,” She cut in, not even deigning to hear him, “Because while she was staring at Dash and blushing at him, I was out here doing all of that for Tammy Thompson.”
He let that simmer in the air for a moment, unable to respond in a way, not willing to break away from the importance of what Robin was saying; her story. Something that’d get her killed and lynched if any other person heard. Something meaningful, striking deep into Steve’s heart, in a way only felt in Starcourt’s toilets in Summer 85’ and Tina’s parent’s bathroom on the night Nancy broke his heart. It was her pain to tell and he could only feel happy that they met and that he was hers to speak to, each other’s other half.
“But—but, didn’t you ever feel anything—just a little for guys?” Steve queried, before realising it may be a little insensitive to ask a lesbian if she liked guys, though he didn’t mean it in a bad way. He was earnest in his words, genuinely asking in attempt to help with his own conflicting thoughts.
“Steve, you know I’m a lesbian, right?” she joked, switching the mood up, “I can honestly say I’ve felt nothing for any guy before. No matter how much I wished too.”
“Robin…” He felt bad, imagining poor Robin, all alone, screaming into her pillow, not just for Tammy Thompson’s muppet voice, but for her inability to be like all the other’s, to like boys like Steve, Carver, and all the basic jocks of Hawkins, Indiana.
“Chill out, Steve, I’ve made my peace with the fact I like boobies and only boobies, no matter any kisses from Joe ‘lipsy’ Flaherty.”
Steve broke out in a bark of a laugh, “You kissed Lipsy?”
“Hey, he didn’t have that bad reputation in Seventh Grade—”
“Oh, right! He was just Brace–Face then until they came out and he started slobbering on all the girls—and not in a hot way like me!”
“Dingus, I don’t wanna know where your tongue has gone, I’ve already heard the rumours and seen the graffiti!”
“That’s right, I’m a kissing god—and cunnilingus too!” Steve joked out in response.
“Eww, Steve! This is worse than the high-school gossip! I don’t want to hear this right from the source!”
“Well you’re already used to my sex talks after my dates, like with Brenda, Heidi, Maria—”
“God, stop reminding me that you can get hundreds of girls while I can’t even get the one I like.” Robin bemoaned with a grumble.

🪱 Wiggly Wednesday 🪱
Take 2
Thinking hard about The Fruity 4 as roommates this evening. They're all idiots in their own way. Pre-Steddie. Pre-Buckingham. They'll all do literally anything for each other. I blame @eyesofshinigami ❤️🧠🪱
It's like...
Steve brings some guy home, expecting the apartment to be empty.
Robin, knowing that Steddie is end game and it's just a matter of, *idiots* and time, either pretends to be Steve's lover and gets super dramatic about it and the apparent adultery, all "Oh how dare you! My beloved, was it me? Did I drive you to this? Am I not enough? Is my warm bosom not enough for you to lie your head at night?!" Or she Facebook stalks the guy until she knows everything. Between her and Chrissy they'll know what he ate for lunch on his 3rd day of 4th grade twenty some years ago. She'll crawl into bed to lay between them and cuddle Steve like the other guy's not even there, fake snoring so loud she hopes it'll get the guy to leave. Literally kicking him in her "sleep." Or trying to turn him off of Steve in other ways by saying things like, "Did Steve tell you about the thing? Like the thing. *wink* *wink* the thing. Steve have you told ___ about your condition? You know the contagious one? He deserves to know. Steve, Babe, has your left nut dropped yet? Or is it still up in your belly? Hey babe? You need my to shave your back tonight or are you good? I picked up your hemorrhoid cream." She's a literal menace.
Then theres Eddie who is straight up planning this man's death. Also with Chrissy's help ofc. Truly her best interest is Eddie and only Eddie. Therefore, Steddie. Therefore, this strange man making Steve blush and giggle must die. Eddie's a bitch in the sense that he's the biggest cockblock ever. Joins Steve and thou he refuses to address at all on the couch when they're cuddling and straight up walks into Steve's room when it gets suspiciously quiet. He's no better than Robin, asking embarrassing questions and making untrue remarks. Maybe a few times he too pretends to be Steve's lover.
Anyway you slice it, I think these 4 would do some variation of this for one another until the two couples manage to get their shit together.

The fact there aren't more single dad Steve fics is surprising to me. And I don't mean like, those Steddie fics where Steve is a parent to one of the Party or st. I mean like, Steve is proudly a bit of a slut and sometimes condoms break. Why are there not more fics of like 20-22yo Steve getting suddenly saddled with a child that he didn't know existed, while everyone freaks out around him about it.
Steve wanted kids yes, but in some nebulous future and now there is a tiny person with his hair and his moles that is chewing on the collar of his shirt. He is very much not ready for this responsibility but also like, he's pretty sure that specific weird clean baby smell is curing his depression. He barely sleeps anyway this is fine, this is fine.
Robin is torn between freaking out, giving him shit, making fun of him, and spoiling the shit out of this baby because this baby is part Steve!! This baby is made from her very favorite person!!! Obviously this is going to be her favorite baby! She is extremely entranced by how tiny every baby item is too. Tiny socks, tiny hats, tiny shoes! Robin is Steve's rock and also is the one most excited to help him with said baby.
Several members of the Party literally have younger siblings and yet not a single one of them know what to do with a baby. They are staring at this tiny creature that is part??? Steve??? Like it is an alien from another planet. They are getting close to being adults and have fought monsters but the first time the baby cries while they are supposed to be watching it at least one of them nearly cries too. Dustin does the 80s equivalent of overdiagnosing via WebMB instead with medical and parenting books from the library. He always think there is something wrong every time the baby coughs. Steve appreciates how enthusiastic he is about making sure the baby is okay, but does not appreciate the extra stress.
I just think we're missing out on prime fic fodder material which is that accidents happens and I want everyone to be losing their minds because somehow trying to keep an infant alive is scarier to them than fighting monsters.

Spicy Six -Ber Month Fanworks Challenge
It's that time again! I'm so excited to host the Third Annual Spicy Six Fanworks Challenge, with a twist this year! Rather than winter-specific prompts, we have a mix of both fall and winter prompts. With all of the fun October events happening, this felt like the best way to capture both seasons. The past couple of years hosting the seasonal challenges has been such a blast, and I can't wait to see what people come up with this time around!
Here are the rules:
It's a Spicy Six challenge so of course, you must include someone from the Spicy Six (Robin, Nancy, Jonathan, Eddie, Steve, Argyle). Don't feel pressured to include everyone, of course. You can be ship-specific or general. Chrissy is also included! (I know that makes seven– I just don't want to change the title, honestly.)
There are two links below, one for dialogue prompts and one for more general prompts. There will be a claims process, but I've decided to make it easier for everyone (myself included) and will not be limiting how many people can claim the same prompt this year. In years past, it's led to a lot of back and forth trying to choose second options, third options, etc. and there's more than enough creativity in this fandom for people to make vastly different interpretations of the same prompt!
To claim a prompt, simply shoot me a DM with which prompt you'd like from what list (i.e.: prompt 6 from dialogue prompts'). Since I'm not limiting prompts, don't worry if I don't get right back to you!
One prompt per person. You're welcome to use as many as you like, but you can only claim one.
No restrictions for fanart, and no word count minimum or maximum for fics. Long fics, ficlets, drabbles, all are welcome.
Posting will run from November 15th through December 31st. Additional posting details here!
When you post, please use the tag spicysixbermonthchallenge and tag me so I can see and reblog it!
Please feel free to reblog to spread and signal boost.

Platonic stobin, steddie, and ronance headcanons
Robin and Steve are so codependent that it honestly unnerves the rest of the party.
Like Steve will wait outside the bathroom door if Robin is going to the restroom. Most of the time he’ll literally just go inside the restroom with her and sit on the floor. They have absolutely no regard for each others personal space.
They shower together. Not once do they think it’s weird. If Robin walks in on Steve changing she’ll have no reaction.
They sleep in the same bed. They change in the same room. They share clothes. When they go shopping for outfits they both try the outfit on to make sure it fits both of them.
If they can’t spend the night with each-other they will call eachother and fall asleep on the phone because they’ll both genuinely cry themselves to sleep otherwise. They will share everything. They share milkshakes, they share toothbrushes sometimes (Dustin finds out and tells them it’s disgusting. They don’t care.)
someone on Tiktok said something about Robin and Steve sharing chewing gum and yes, they would absolutely do that, and then they wonder why people think they’re dating.
If Robin has to leave Steve for long periods of time she’ll leave her cologne at his house because it comforts him. They cuddle religiously. They will seriously share anything.
If they don’t get a set number of hugs in a day from each other they’ll both be in terrible moods. Sometimes Eddie or Nancy will find them hugging in the middle of one of the family video isles. Why? Just because. They stick to each other like koalas.
They’ll share a plate when they eat, share utensils.
Eddie and Nancy eventually only go on double dates because if they try to plan alone time with their partners their partners will accidentally ruin it by bringing the other along.
When they have sleepovers together, Eddie and Nancy will get kicked out of bed. Until they’re able to buy a bed that fits all four of them, they just let Steve and Robin take one bed and Nancy and Eddie take the other.
Steve and Robin are actively planning their wedding together. Nancy and Eddie find it hilarious that they don’t understand why people think they’re dating. They try to explain that people don’t just marry their best friends but Steve and Robin think they’re being stupid.
Eventually Nancy and Eddie decide they’ll probably get married to each other as well, since it’s not like they legally can marry their real partners anyways. And even if it were legal, Eddie and Nancy are almost certain Robin and Steve would still just marry each other.
Robin and Steve have engagement rings. Robin has the more “masculine” ring and Steve has the more “feminine” one. They show off their rings with upmost pride. Robin will call Steve her fiancé. He is absolutely okay with it. They call eachother every pet name under the sun. Steve will absolutely sometimes refer to Robin as “love of my life”
once Jonathan asks Nancy if she’s jealous and she laughs at him. Looking from afar, she totally should be, but she’s not, and eddie is in the same boat as her.
One time eddie and Nancy try to separate robin and Steve when they’re sleeping. It doesn’t go well.
If you think Steve and Robin sober are clingy, Robin and Steve drunk/high are complete menaces. It’s like they actually hide how in synch they are, and when they’re drunk they stop hiding. They will literally act like they have a hive mind. Like their brains are connected. They’ll have entire conversations where they say the exact same thing at the exact same time, finish each other’s sentences to an uncanny degree, el actually tries to figure out if they also have powers because it genuinely doesn’t seem real.
Sometimes robin will shove herself into one of Steve’s shirts while he is wearing it. They just. Share shirts sometimes. You know that “our get along shirt” meme? Yes but they actively choose and enjoy it.
Steve and Robin will coordinate their outfits so they’re always matching.
Robin knows Steve’s social security number. She helps him fill out paperwork at the doctors.
When Nancy originally tried to ask Robin on a date, she got too nervous to respond so Steve ended up scheduling the date for her, to Nancy’s absolute delight (she found it hilarious)
Steve will tell Robin in-depth details about his and eddie’s sex life. She will do the exact same thing about her and Nancy. There are no secrets.
No. Secrets.
Robin helps Steve shave is legs because he didn’t know how at first and it just kinda becomes a thing they do.
One time, Robin has to go away to visit her grandparents in Italy and Steve is such a mess that he has to stay at Eddie’s place. He spends the majority of the week trying to talk to Robin on the phone whenever he has the chance and he’s absolutely miserable when he’s not. It’s honestly kind of heartbreaking to watch. Robin is miserable about it too.
When they finally get to see each other again Robin completely forgets to say hi to Nancy too and just slams into Steve and refuses to let go for hours.
Sometimes robin and Steve forget they are not the same person and they’ll call Eddie and Nancy “our boyfriend” or “our girlfriend” eventually Eddie and Nancy call each other girlfriend and boyfriend. Not because they actually like each other that way but because they spend enough time together by proxy for them to get away with it.
Eddie and Nancy become really close friends simply because their partners rarely let them be alone. The entire party is still convinced they’re dating, even when Robin and Steve come out and tell them that they’re dating Eddie and Nancy.
