whenever i see a character i really enjoy with the words “praise/praise kink” i instinctively go “oh no” because the way i will fold easier than a chair with any character like that who will whisper sweet nothings to me as they absolutely ruin me into pieces and tell me how well i’m doing—and my thoughts about welt are no different

here it is a case of 'you get a praise kink, you get a praise kink, you all get a praise kink!'. i merely think reader deserves to be told what a good job they are doing almost all of the time! but welt seems like the kind of man who just . . . is like that, in bed. he's not all gushing romanticism like some characters might be, but he is simply a man who gives praise where praise is due! and praise from a stern older man who is fairly rigid and academic seeming and well-travelled just. hits different.
