"Sacrifices everything she’s ever wanted for her daughter, and then does it again. Saves the world at least twice, or dies trying. Can control fellow robots with her brain. THANDIWE NEWTON HOT."
I’m just...sad. Because season 5 was supposed to bring the answer to the most important question in the show : can we set us free ?
We were supposed to see more of Dolores, Maeve, Caleb, William. It was supposed to be the last round for them, the moment they finally reached the ending they desserve.
And now, we’ll have to live with the fact that the end of the show is that everyone is dead and Dolores is maybe going to fix things. Great.
It’s like if, after Star Wars : Empire strikes back...there was no sequel. Like, it was the end. It’s just so frustrating. I hope that Joy and Nolan will give us at least a scenario of the finale season, tell us what they planned for their characters.
I LOVED THIS!!!!!! When posting this scene from Westworld Season 2 on her Instagram story, Evan Rachel Wood was referring to how she wished the end of Westworld had been. (because the show's Season 5 finale has been canceled by HBO for the time being). Dolores: "I know how this story ends" Teddy: "How?" Dolores: "With You and Me Teddy"
love how barbie parallels to westworld because barbie thinks that humans are living such a great life and in westworld the robots think so as well, but when they get cognitive awareness and emotional intelligence they realize that they’re trapped in a place where they have no autonomy and are controlled by humans. and they think that the humans have it so much better, but when they enter the human world they realize we’re suffering as well. that we actually don’t have autonomy and that we’re under the thumb of capitalism. and this is similar to what happens in barbie. barbie goes to the human world and finds out we’re not living a life she thought we would be. it makes her realize life in barbie world isn’t as perfect as it seemed either. basically my point is that none of us will ever be healthy and satisfied if we’re living under the ruling that works for only one group of people and not everyone. we need a seat at the table for everyone and everything. a majority of the population if not all are suffering in some way or another due to capitalism, poverty, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. we cannot thrive in a society that recycles people into a system of oppression.
Rinko Kikuchi said, "I'm gonna die in everything I appear in from hereon out" and by god, she's been consistent in her Special Guest appearance-to-death pipeline so far.
