#a doodley #jumpscaring everyone again #im stilll deciding talons nose shape #saw a nose shape that looked a lot like his the other day and im trying to integrate it with the old way i used to draw it too #undecided if he should have very visible nostrils or if theyre more hidden like al's #speaking of al he's existed for over a decade and im still deciding eye color!#i feel his whole scheme fits the light grey or green eyes ive always given him #but. light eyes scare me and he is my forever girl. so we're leaning brownish again rn #it all goes back to brown. like how i cant stop drawing talon with his original eye color when he's meant to have the scary purple eyes #as a vampyre #AND FINALLY im trying to find a way to add more texture to talons face #i have to do more intentional wrinkles around the eyes and sockets that add form #i give al his acne scars + bumps + pores #wanted to give talon liver spots but he is a vampire! no sun exposure!#might also just do like. bumps and blemishes #the illusion of rugged skin

Have any of you ever had this heart-wrenching experience where you see an amazing fanart of some character, that dies in canon relatively young, but is depicted in their would-have-been old age? Fanart where the character has grey hairs in their head, fanart with expression lines and textured skin, where it is undeniable that the character lived.

I remember the first time when that happened to me with a character I adored and really wished they could have had the opportunity to live and enjoy life, not just survive.

That shit brought me to tears.

#idk how to explain it #but it was heart-breaking and healing at the same time #the first moment of OH oh yes… they would have looked like that…#and BAM #feelings #it’s obvious with the acc im posting from #but having seen a fanart of Severus with greying hair for the first time devestated me #it sent me on a spiral of thinking how many people don’t get the priviledge of growing old #and how old age is such a beautiful thing #especially when having lived a fulfilling life and a life you felt ownership of #AND SEVERUS NEVER GOT THAT AND IT MADE ME SO GODDAMN EMOTIONAL #a character that was a means to an end and did’t get the opportunity to actually live #UGH now i just destroyed my own feelings #this is ehy i cant think about it for too long goddammit #severus #severus snape #pro severus snape

Ultimately I KNOWWW being born in 1997 means I'm not really a 90s kid, I didn't grow up in it, but I STILL do remember the turn of the century (however very very vaguely it is) and thus. People born in 2000 and later will always feel young to me. So I will continuously be surprised when I hear that someone I know was born in 2000 or later. Such is my affliction.

#i have too many thoughts. unfortunately #its kinda hard to see this so long after it came out bc the humor feels soooo mid 2010’s and its debatable how well its aged #all i know is personally i feel like the dc mvoie #*dc movies have done a better job in recent years doing this specific r rated humor focused anti hero stuff #also like i for one love a comedy and love things having a humorous streak #but this is like a really standard grey action #*movie but then it puts all the humor on one character and that doesnt worklike at all lmao #like the really good parts are when hes with the other 2 funny characters (the bartender and the old lady)#they also like didnt do enough at all with lampooning superhero tropes? like at all???#it would have been so easy to have a standard superhero #movie but just lampoon it the whole time and instead they just… had that movie and like idk #fmcndkfndk like???#one of the few saving graces was in universe acknowledging that deadpool is annoying lol #but yeah generally it had a lot of ELEMENTS of good stuff just. not mixed well together #this truly is the granddaddy of reddit movie tho #like its not le epic win bacon bc thats more early 2010.#this is like. those milennial cookbooks that are hiphopified by just adding swear words. for some reason #torn bc i feel like i should judge ppl for this being so popular but im like not surprised that it would have mass appeal #on the surface i get the appeal of ‘a superhero BUT HE CURSES OOOOH’ and just generally taking things less seriously #it just sucks that the entire rest of the movie takes itself perfectly seriously #but not enough to have weird little annoying plot holes #also cant rly judge the guy who said he loved these movies hes a nerdy 38 yr old mild mannered white man. this was made for him.#this is elder milennial dadsk Wells For Boys

I'm so excited for my D&D campaign

#i ran one in this world for two and a half years where everything is ravaged by dragons #but now theres been a somewhat revolution because one of the only surviving major cities was impulsively conquered by my players #so things have been shaken up a lot and now they have a holiday because they brought i think three gods to earth at once #two of my players became the vessels of the gods of light and darkness and duked it out and fast forward a year or two #and their hold on the economic powerhouse of the continent is solidified and they have partnered with an organization #that specualizes in magical artifacts from every concievable reality #and my NEW campaign is people hired by this organization #The Forge of Wonders #they have this entirely greyed out library full of strange books that when you pick them up gain color and you can read their spines #and these books are stories. theyre fairy tales. theyre pirate adventures. theyre dragon babysitting. theyre demon apocalypses.#and these stories are worlds. theyre stories in truth. and my players have been hired to dive into the stories and retrieve Thing #for the forge of wonders #which means i get to make WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT BITCHES #i get to be so fucking impulsive with my story crafting #and im not going to balance anything correctly. theyre just going to have to assume from the summary in the front page if its doable #demon apocalypse? probably outside of our level. gnome tinkerers? probably not too bad #and ill have prebuilt stories and something theyre taked with retrieving and they get to choose which onr yhey do #anyways the forge of wonders started as a magic shop that only accepted platinum (1000 gold) as currency so they did a lot of shopping ther #i just took that old document full of crazy magical items and i tweaked it and molded it and added to it and the new version is 33 pages 🥰#thats what ive been doing at work the past three days lol #dnd #my dnd

I also noticed that man in grey was deactivated for a while, understandably so. Many idv ask blogs that die tend to get deactivated, so while I was a little bummed about it, I'm not surprised.

I also confirmed with man in greys mun that she's "in blog retirement". Considering she's been around much longer then I have, I'd say thats pretty accurate XD. Thank you so much for checking in though, it's nice to know that people still remember and care for these blogs!

#unconcerned ramblings #its me the mun #ppl lose interest n leave fandoms n sometimes old stuff is just too cringe to leave around #theyre not completely gone though. interactions with other blogs will be on other blogs. man in grey has definitely made his mark here XD #having said that. when i do decide to retire the blog ill definitely still keep it up #theres a lot of things that im proud of over here. the blog really inspired me to try so many different things that i usually wouldnt do #n u can definitely see my improvement over time as i got more comfortable with digital art #i personally find it endearing. i do look back on the blog every now n then. usually when someone likes a really old post #theres definitely a lot of cringe as well but. im glad for all that. i know i had a lot of fun with it. n thats all that matters reallt
