More Murmur Leggy Hit Reacts

Designing animations for characters as strange as the Murmur was one thing, but the challenge of making hit-reacts and status effects for each and every one of them was another feat in itself. As a gameplay animator, you find yourself asking a lot of questions, like: "How do i make these guys look on fire and also not stupid?" "How do i make it react without making it move too much so that players can still hit them?" "Why are there so many status effects?"

Anyway, yeah, I just thought it would be nice to share some more of these animations we shared at the animation workshop at Tennocon 2024.

Whispers in the Wall as Operator

So, my fellow Warframe fans. Who wants to analyze what was either the most incredible bug or a wild feature.

When I did Whispers in the Wall, I did it as my Operator, which seems to have put my in the minority.

But when Wally appeared, he was my Drifter. Confused me out the gate, because I heard him before I saw him, and thought Drifter had showed up to help out, before I realized what was happening.

So, for reference, these are the outfits my Operator and Drifter wear. The rest are defaults.

This is important because uh, that's where things took a turn into either "Bugframe my beloved" or "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN DE?"

Because, I would like to emphasize, it was consistently my Drifter's voice. These lines were recorded by the Drifter's VA. This model was not meant to be my operator's, at the very least.

But that is very much my operator, just at Drifter proportions. He's also, interestingly, missing the sigil my Operator wears, but when my Operator popped out, he had it.

So yeah.

Playing as Operator was a wild experience.
