- Caretaker has no clue of either’s history or relation

- They are both unconscious

-Or maybe they are dead silent and glaring at each other the entire time

-Or cursing and clawing at each other, despite their own wounds

- Neither are giving good or true story

-Injured from the same incident. Did they do this to each other? Did someone do this to both of them? Or was it all a domino toppling accident?

Whumpee wakes first

-Whumpee tries to escape from the hospital

-Whumpee latches onto Whumper

-Whumpee freaks out upon waking, begging, shouting, and crying to be moved to a different room

-Whumpee tries to convince Caretaker to never tell Whumper about; being moved to a different room, telling the truth, being in the same hospital

-Whumpee takes the opportunity to be the New Whumper

Whumper wakes first

- Whumper latches onto Whumpee

- Whumper convinces Caretaker that they are close friends/lovers/family

- Whumper is now frightened of Whumpee, or is too guilty and can’t bare to look their way

- Whumper awakes to find they do not recognize Whumpee or know where they are

-Whumper more calmly asks to be moved to a different room

Both Awake Within Close Times

- They instantly break into a brawl despite injuries, cue Caretaker having to break them up

- Both are too weak to explain their situation or object to each other’s presence

- One takes the chance to degrade the other

- Neither feels safe what so ever

- They both panic at the sight of each other

Extra

- A different Whumper arrives on scene and takes both of them

- A fight breaks out between the two as frequently as possible

- Caretaker equally despises both of them

- Caretaker is completely oblivious, and is genuinely trying to care for the lives of the wounded

- One is in much worse condition than the other

- Both are afraid of hospitals/completely miserable

- As soon as one recovers first it will try to off the other or worse

amnesia as a trauma response has the potential to be so fucking funny because imagine you just spent like 6 months breaking Whumpee down piece by piece, stripping them of their rights, destroying their mind and body with scars that will never heal, relishing in the irrevocable damage done by your hand even after they've been rescued

and then you run into them at a grocery store and they're like "oh hey (: sorry didn't see you there ((((: no i have no idea who you are but you're blocking the shelf i need to look at"

my ass would be humbled so goddamn fast. i would be shinji gripping the sink sobbing in the mirror because Whumpee basically just called me cringe. my brilliant torturing apparently meant fuckall and i'm not even worth the time of day. they'd probably misspell my name on a starbucks cup. whumper turned whumpee because how do i recover from that. what the fuck.

Attention Whump Community!

Clogging disability tags is a massive problem that we need to address. Many tags, especially those surrounding permanent injuries, paralysis, vision loss and certain illnesses have become unusable due to being flooded with unrelated things. Yes, that includes your writing. Those tags are not for you. It's isolating, frustrating and depressing to try finding a community and other people who share your issues but all that comes up is whump, fandom shit, gifs, headcanons, etc.

I'm newly paralyzed. I have looked at many tags surrounding paralysis, trying to find support, a community, anything of people struggling with the same thing. Nothing. There's barely anything for us in the general disabilty tags. I am BEGGING you to understand and recognize how AWFUL it is.

So, I have a proposition. A tag you can and should use exclusively for disability content in whump writing. Not any other tag surrounding disability, lest you'll clog it up.

It's tempting to use more specific tags, I get it. Due to being in the whump community myself I know #medical whump is already a tag. You have those tags. Use them. Don't use the disability tags. Don't clog up the few spaces us disabled people have.

GOD i just love whumpees kept against their will in luxury

King sized beds with fluffy blankets, fine wines and gourmet dinners, expensive clothes and jewelry, constant affection 24/7...

Only to be met with a whumpee who spits and fights back at every turn, demanding release. A whumpee who'd rather be out on the streets and free than to live as a pet in some creep's mansion.

A trope I adore: not only a drugged Whumpee, but the act of drugging Whumpee.

Pinning Whumpee’s arm to the ground or a table, keeping them still enough to push the needle into their arm

Causing a sharp, sudden pain that makes Whumpee cry out, their mouth opened just long enough to shove a pill inside—then holding a hand over Whumpee’s nose and mouth until they swallow or suffocate

Forcing Whumpee to drink something they know is laced (or don’t)

Waving a strong chemical beneath an unconscious or exhausted Whumpee’s nose, and watching the effects hit their system almost immediately

Making Whumpee finish a suspiciously chalky meal

Restraining Whumpee and hooking them up to a constant drip of fluids meant to keep them docile. Bonus: Whumpee fighting tooth and nail to keep the needle from their arm because they know—once it’s in, there’s no chance to escape

First whumper uses physical violence to train whumpee. Pain is the great teacher.

When whumpee has been trained to respond to pain, then the actual violence isn't needed. Then all whumper needs is the threat of violence, and whumpee responds.

When whumpee has been trained to respond to the threat of violence, then whumper doesn't need to threaten anymore.

After that, whumper trains whumpee to the implication of violence.

The subtle cues. No one but whumpee would even know that whumper was making a threat.

Even a gentle smile can be an implicit threat.

And whumpee responds.

Whumpee has been taught.

Later-- much later-- caretaker has to work to understand why some of their innocent actions and gestures make recovering whumpee flinch, and jump.

Strong/powerful whumpees being held as trophies. They are showcased in front of anyone the Whumper wants to in-still fear in.

Whumper doesn’t ask Whumpee to do anything. Just stay silent. Stay still.

Maybe Whumpee is chained up, kept in a glass box?

Maybe Whumpee is muzzled?

Whumpee is kept weak so they can’t fight back. Drugged? Starved? Your choice.

Whumper wants them displayed to show their dominance. The ability to contain someone so powerful like it’s nothing.

A character who's been shot is captured by enemies/bad guys. They're bleeding badly, and their captors need them alive. The bullet is removed, and the wound is poured with alcohol and bandaged tightly - none of it is done gently, and, being tied up (and maybe gagged), they can do nothing but scream and cry out in pain while enduring the rough treatment.

Oh how the turn tables. I'm too tired to write a proper description, introduction, anything here. No thoughts, just the urge to post while I put off those drafts.

A stoic Whumper who refuses to acknowledge their own injuries or problems. They'll never be as weak as whumpee who cries out in pain all the time, or breaks so easily. The problem is everything breaks eventually.

Hurting themselves while whumping Whumpee (passing off the injury as minute until it gets terrible)

Whumpee is a magically healing creature, and whumper is often their patient

Whumper covered in their own blood for once

Whumper drugging Whumpee up so they're super docile and out of it for when the other whumpers come over for a whumper party. Whumper's guests take turns cooing over Whumpee, petting them, holding them in their laps and feeding them little treats like pieces of fruit or chocolate. The whumpers fighting for the adorable Whumpee's attention, however limited it may be. Now imagine Whumpee is a human and the whumpers are all fae.
