I Want To Go Home(Cash Wheeler x Reader)
Tumblr media
Prompt 5: “I want to go home...” “I know, I know. We will, soon, okay?”
Warnings: my first time writing fan-fiction, grammar probably
(This is form Cash pov)
 I left Y/N a while ago with some of their friends, while I talk to Dax and Trent about our up coming match against Will Ospreay and his group this week. It’s probably been over 30 minutes, when I look up to check up on Y/N, to see how their doing but when I look over to where their are, I don’t see them. I immediately start looking for them, tuning out Dax and Trent. While looking around the room I fine Y/N in one of the corners, on their phone. I turn back to Dax and Trent and say “Hey guys, I’ll be right back” and without waiting on what they have to say in return, I make my way to Y/N. I start thinking what could be wrong, did they get hurt or did their social battery run out?
 When I get to them, I sit next to them and they look at me with the most beautiful eyes, that I have seen and of course I get lost in them but I snap out of it and ask “What’s wrong, hun?” while putting my arm around them. They lean into me and sigh while saying “I want to go home...” looking up into my eyes. I get a small smile on my face looking down at them and say “I know, I know. We will soon. okay?”. “Fine..., how did you know?” They say with a small smile also. “ I just had a feeling hun.” They chuckle “ I guess that feeling of yours is right, again.”
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
After I say goodbye to Dax, Treat and a few others, I make my way back over to Y/N and tell them it’s time to go back to the hotel we’re staying at this week. While walking back they stop and look at me and say “I love you.” I look right back at them and say it with the same confidence and we make our way make to the hotel.
22/4/24 Fact or Fiction
Statement #1:The ending of Wrestlemania XL was satisfying. FACT - While the layout of the match got to the point of borderline parody, as I haven't seen so many run-ins during a title match since Jeff Jarrett's reign of terror in TNA, the end result was the right call - and got even better once Bloodline stans started losing their shit on Twitter ever since
Statement #2: It was wrong for AEW to air the footage of the All In backstage fight. FICTION - While it wasn't wrong to show it, what was wrong was when and where they showed it: if AEW aired the footage immediately after Punk was fired from the company then there would have been little complaint but, more importantly, a lot less battle lines as the argument would have just been between AEW fans and Punk fans, and it is certainly true that AEW had the right to reply after Punk went on Ariel Helwani's podcast and decided to be a Gideon Falter about the situation - but the right to reply should not have aired on Dynamite, instead have been handled with some degree of distance between the footage and AEW's production with the most obvious suggestion being on a podcast (and, no, I don't mean AEW Unrestricted nor Talk is Jericho) so that AEW got to tell their side and it didn't interfere with their booking, not least because by that point the battle lines had been redrawn significantly with WWE fans being added to the mix alongside people who clearly know eff all about data protection laws chiming in
Statement #3: The Rock will not wrestle again until Wrestlemania 41. FICTION - There's two ways to look at this: the most obvious suggestion is he'll wrestle at the next Saudi show on the slate, though given that takes place in May it can be argued that he shouldn't as that's too soon after WM (but Bonesaw McGraw probably won't be interested in things like facts, logic, or that people know what sportswashing is) but it's more likely that SummerSlam has him feature given he won't be busy promoting films - which he would be around Survivor Series time as Moana 2 is slated for that period
Statement #4: Will Ospreay was wrong to respond to HHH’s comment about wrestlers not wanting to come to WWE because of the grind. FICTION - Even if the shot wasn't aimed at Ospreay specifically, though given HHH's track record of being a salty bitch in interviews and press conferences it's highly likely it was, he deserved the clapback anyway considering how idealising "the grind" is such a back asswards mindset anyway because work/life balance is more important than flogging yourself to death for the benefit of shareholders while getting no benefit to yourself, as evidenced by Seth Rollins' experience of the grind being the sound coming from his leg as he worked both nights of WM with a torn meniscus
Statement #5: You are excited for Jon Moxley’s run as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in New Japan. FACT - While it's true to say that NJPW's product has not been hot for a good 2-3 years and their headline scene in particular has suffered due to a choice of poor champions (Sanada), champions not getting the credit they so obviously earned (Shingo), dull challengers (EVIL), or champions who were past their peak (Naito) the headline scene needed freshening up with someone who can carry the banner until it's time for Yota Tsuji, Shota Umino and Ren Narita to step up, and I am genuinely curious to see Mox in the role as the steward waiting for the moment where somebody gets their big moment
Statement #6: You are excited for Jon Moxley’s run as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in New Japan. FACT - After the epileptic days of Kevin Dunn's production it was a breath of fresh air to see some smooth camera work, even if on occasion they were used in bad places so you had things like the camera was mooching around trying to be Sam Raimi but you couldn't actually follow the action in the ring...and then, like everything, it became ammo in the usual wrestling culture war drivel so now people online are trying to gatekeep shot composition saying that only WWE are allowed to use these shots as they invented them - which is certainly news to people who've watched NJPW for any length of time
Out of the Ordinary - Will Ospreay
I was driving to work one day and heard that Selena Gomez song “It Ain’t Me” on the radio and…well…this scene formed in my head.  Every time I hear that song this scene plays over and over.  I haven’t even watched a Will Ospreay match; I think I’ve seen one clip of an interview he did with Rob Naylor.  I think I have a problem.  My brain works in mysterious ways.
2500+ words.  Serious angst with a dash of fluff at the end.
- - -
     When anybody was asked to describe you, the first word they said was pragmatic.  You always thought logically and sensibly, and on more than one occasion you were told you were mature well beyond your years, which you took as a compliment but some saw as a detriment.  Your fellow wrestlers had a strong love/hate relationship with you because of your personality.      Two wrestlers that loved your personality, or at least appreciated it, were your friends Zack Sabre Jr. and Marty Scurll.  Zack, who was a lot like you, took a liking to you early on; Marty took a while to warm up to you, but now that he had, you couldn’t get rid of him.  He routinely expressed to you that you were one of his favourite people.  You didn’t know if that was a good or a bad thing, but you leaned towards good.      Zack, in particular, stuck with you throughout the only time in your life where you didn’t think logically and sensibly, and he was right beside you (now with Marty) when you got out of it.  Three years ago, you began dating Will Ospreay against your better judgement.  You were a newbie, and he was cute, and he kissed you one night at a bar and said the sweetest things to you.  But you were both young, and traveling the word for wrestling, and though you got booked on a lot of the same shows and were together often, it just couldn’t work.  It didn’t work.
     Just over a year into the relationship, you used that same judgement to end things.  It was hard, but it needed to be done, especially before he could really hurt you.  It hurt you in ways you never revealed to anyone – not Zack, not Marty, nobody.  Barely four weeks later, he was with another girl – a fellow wrestler on the circuit named Maddie.  You convinced everybody it didn’t bother you, and you even worked a few matches against her, always remaining professional.  You wondered if she knew the extent of yours and Will’s relationship.        Touring Europe now, you found yourself in a locker room with Zack and Marty, giving them your thoughts on spots they wanted to do for their match.  Many wrestlers were around – half of which you knew – and Will and Maddie were booked for the show too.  They hadn’t arrived yet, but you were expecting them at any hour.        “You wanna do those rolling Romero specials?” Marty asked Zack.      Hearing the move made alarm bells go off in your brain.  “Don’t,” you interjected quickly.  “I’m doing them in my match.  You can’t do the same spot too.”      “Fine,” Marty nodded his head.  “What other way can I bend your body like a pretzel, Zack?”      “You working against Maddie tonight?” Zack asked you, completely ignoring Marty’s question.      You shook your head.  “I’m working Sadie,” you revealed.  “That’s why we’ve already got the match called.  God forbid Will and Maddie show up on time so we can plan a match beforehand.”      Zack snorted at your comment, knowing Will’s penchant for being late.  Marty huffed out a laugh.  “Are they in a mixed tag tonight?” he asked.  You nodded you head.  “Well then, maybe you could go out there and teach her a few pointers,” Marty commented.      Zack laughed out loud but you could only smirk.  “Be nice, Marty.”      “I am being nice.  A month ago she almost dropped Sadie on her head.”      “She’s still learning,” you said.  “We’re all still learning.  Will’s getting her to practice more aerial stuff like him, so she might be neglecting a bit of the fundamentals.”      “He’s training her and responsible for making her forget the fundamentals?  I should punch him in the face.”      “Marty!” you chastised him.  By this point, Zack was just looking back and forth between the two of you.        “Whatever, he deserves a punch in the face after what he’s been saying,” Marty mumbled.      You saw Zack’s eyes bulge out of their sockets quickly at Marty.  Marty, seeing his reaction, shrugged his shoulders quickly and looked away.  “Why?  What’s he been saying?” you asked.      The boys looked at each other silently, not answering your question.  That was the only clue you needed.  The atmosphere of the room completely changed at this point.  “What has he been saying?” you asked again, slowly.  Still nothing.  “One of you better speak or I’m going to assume the worst.”      “It’s nothing, love,” Zack prefaced.      “It’s bullshit is what it is,” Marty mumbled again.      “What’s going on?” you demanded of your friends.        “You know how Will is…he runs his mouth a lot…and well, he said…he’s been saying, in a couple of locker rooms, really, that you still aren’t over him, which is why you’re still alone, but that you’re also desperate to get married, which is quote unquote pathetic,” Zack revealed.      The hairs on the back of your neck stood up.  You felt like your body was on fire.  “He said what?”      “I told you love, it’s bullshit,” Zack said.  “Nobody believes him, especially the ones that know you.”      “But he still says it,” you said as more of a statement than a question.      “Well…yes.  But I cannot stress this enough…nobody believes him,” Zack repeated.      You looked toward Marty, who was biting his tongue in anger; God knows what kind of expletives he wanted to throw around.  He and Will were friends – they all were – but Marty was quick to call people on their bullshit.  You wondered if he had already said anything to Will.  “What a fucking asshole,” you said, shaking your head.  “He can fuck right off.”      “Don’t do anything stupid,” Zack warned.      You looked at him like he was crazy.  “Me?  Do something stupid?  Do you forget who you’re talking to?” you asked sarcastically.  You were the pragmatic one, remember?  “If nobody believes him, he’s making a bigger ass out of himself than I could,” you said, shrugging it all off.      Zack smiled at your response, knowing he didn’t have to worry about you.  “Good thinking.”      The thing was…when it came to Will, you were stupid. - - -       When Sadie told you Will and Maddie had arrived, you knew it was go time. Your blood had been boiling since Zack and Marty told you about the things Will was saying.  You had managed to keep it cool, but now that you knew that he was here, in the building, you felt like you were about to blow.        You left the women’s locker room, under no suspicion from Sadie, and walked down the hall to the men’s, where you saw the door was slightly ajar.  A bunch of voices could be heard, but that didn’t cloud your train of thought at all – you knew exactly what you were going to do, and exactly what you were going to say.      You opened the door slowly, just enough to see one of your fellow wrestlers lacing up his boots beside the door.  “Hey,” he greeted you.  “Who you looking for?”      You ignored him, opening the door fully until you spotted him, directly across from you, his arm up on the coat hooks, leaning against them as he talked to Maddie.  Of course she was still in the men’s locker room, only stooping to join the female’s room until the last minute.  God forbid she wasn’t attached at Will’s hip every moment of the day.      You darted towards him, ignoring the stares of everyone around you.  Will turned his head towards you at the last possible second, taking his arm off the coat hooks.  The last thing you noticed was the confused look on his face.      “What the fuck is wrong with you?!” you screamed, shoving Will with such force that he actually stumbled back onto the bench seating.  “What the fuck is your problem?!”      “What the fuck are you talking about?” he asked, standing back up.  By this point the room had gone silent, all eyes on you and Will.  Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Marty hold back another wrestler from intervening.        Maddie looked at you like you had just ripped the head off her favourite doll.  “What’s your problem with my boyf --”      “Maddie, unless you want me to spill my ammo on you too, I suggest you stay the fuck out of this ‘cause it has nothing to do with you,” you warned with such venom in your voice you almost scared yourself.  She was just as shocked, her mouth closing as she stayed silent.      You brought your attention back to Will.  His brows were furrowed by now, and you could tell he was angry at the way you were speaking to his girlfriend, but it seemed like he was too scared to say anything.  “How dare you talk behind my back to our colleagues.  How fucking dare you.”      “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he denied it, like you knew he would.      “Oh, so now you’re going to deny talking shit about me?  Really?” you demanded.  “Telling everybody I’m not over you?  That I’m sad and alone and desperate to get married?” you listed the things he’d said.  “How am I the desperate one when you were the one to propose after only six months and I said no?!”      And there it was.  Everyone’s jaws hit the floor in complete shock at what you had just said – everyone except for Will, of course, who was seething.  Nobody, nobody knew he had proposed; not Zack, not Marty, not even his or your parents.  You hadn’t let anyone on about it; it was a secret between the two of you, and it was supposed to stay that way.  And now, it was out in the open.        “Who was the one waiting up for you when you’d go out and party with your bros, huh?” you kept demanding of him.  “Who would go out and get you Gatorade and Advil for your hangovers?  Who was the one who actually let you go out instead of keeping you on a leash?” you made a slight jab at Maddie.  You couldn’t hold anything back at this point.  “And just last week, who was the first person you fucking called that came to pick you up when you were drunk out of your mind wandering the streets of Hamburg since you couldn’t find the hotel?”      He didn’t bother answering you.  He knew, you knew, everyone in the room knew the answer to those questions.  His eyebrows were still furrowed as you huffed and puffed, the anger in you not subsiding any time soon.  There was so much you could say to him – so much you thought about saying to him for two years.  You didn’t know how or when you were going to stop.      “And another thing – it’s one thing to talk to other girls while we’re still together, hanging by a thread,” you began, pointing to Maddie, “but it’s another thing to get with them less than a month after a break-up.  You think I didn’t know?  I fucking knew.  You were a scumbag then and you’re a scumbag now.”  You looked over to Maddie, surprisingly not feeling an inch of remorse.  “Congratulations, sweetie, but a word of warning – the way you get ‘em is the same way you lose ‘em.”      Will clenched his jaw.  Only now had the eerie silence of the room, despite it being full of men, get to you.  You didn’t even know how long you had been standing there, giving your verbal beat down, but you figured now was as good as ever to end it.  “You can fuck off, William Ospreay.  If I ever find out you’ve even looked in my general direction or muttered my name to anyone else I’ll chop off your balls and feed them to you for breakfast.”      With that, you turned on your heels and walked out of the room, every pair of eyes on you.   - - -       The show went on.   Your match went well, and the crowd was very into it.  You went over Sadie, but that only meant she’d go over you in the next show.  You were good friends so you didn’t mind.  She’d heard about your outburst in the men’s locker room and high-fived you for it, telling you that you should have done it sooner.      Will and Maddie finished their match and left early, apparently not wanting to run into you again.  They were staying at a different hotel than you, lucky for them.  You didn’t want to see them either, so you were glad they took the initiative to get the fuck out of dodge.      After changing out of your ring gear and into a pair of black leggings and an oversized sweater, you heard a knock on the dressing room door.  You looked behind you to see who it was.  Without bothering to wait for a response, whoever was on the other side pushed the door open slowly.  Marty revealed himself soon enough.        “Hey.”      “Hi Marty.”      “You almost ready?”      “Yeah, just packing in my shoes,” you said, turning back to finish.      He took the initiative to step inside of the room, closing the door about half way.  He watched you for a few moments, stuffing your shoes into your luggage and zipping it back up before crossing his arms against his chest.  “You okay?”      “I’m fine.  Gonna need a bigger suitcase soon,” you commented.       He watched you for a few more seconds.  “Listen…what happened earlier…”      You spun around to look him in the eye.  “I’m going to hear it from Zack when we get back to the hotel.  I don’t need to hear it from you too.”      “You’re not going to hear it from me,” he said.  “I just…I thought it was very… honourable of you.  I thought it was the right thing to do, to be perfectly honest, and that he had it coming.”      Well, those were words you didn’t expect to hear from him.  “Is this some sort of reverse psychology thing?”      Marty chuckled slightly.  “No, I actually think that, darling,” he said.        “Well, thanks,” you said, turning back quickly to lift your luggage off the bench and extend the handle.  You knew you could always count on him.      “Listen,” you heard his voice again as you faced away from him.  “I was thinking… once we get back to the hotel I could, you know, buy you a drink…you know, since uh, you probably obviously need it,” he stumbled through the sentence.        Still facing away from him, your eyebrows rose.  Did he just say what you think he just said?  Was that subtext really there?  Oh, Marty.  Marty Marty Marty.      You spun around to see him looking at you, desperate for an answer.  You would never reveal to him how anxious he truly looked.  “Come here,” you said.      “What?”      “Marty, just come here,” you repeated.      He followed your command, approaching you and standing inches apart from you.  “You’re going to go through an entire night of buying me drink after drink, and maybe even food, just for an opportunity to maybe kiss me at the end of the night?”      Marty huffed out a laugh, bringing his arm up to scratch the back of his neck.  “Well when you put it like that…yes.”      “Can I save you the time and the money and just kiss you now?”      You were pragmatic, after all.
Hello Jealousy
Tumblr media
Pairing- Jay White/OC
Warning(s)- Fluff, swearing
Jay and I have been dating for a couple months. We first met when I went to a Ring of Honor show, he gave me his number and since that moment we started talking before he asked me out, I would have been stupid to say no.
We were backstage at NJPW, tonight CHAOS had to face Jeff Cobb, Juice Robinson, Michael Elgin, and Toa Henare. Jay decided it would be a good idea for me to meet the boys which I was nervous about. They were one of the hottest teams in Japan besides the Bullet Club and Los Ingobernables de Japon.
However, Jay assured me that everything would be fine and they would absolutely love me. Jay finished getting ready before walking me over to where the rest of CHAOS was standing. I saw the familiar faces of the team. Soon, Jay would stop, introducing me to each member one by one and we all shook hands. Then, suddenly, things took a weird turn once Jay introduced me to Will Ospreay.
Jay introduced us and I held out my hand, he shook it before smiling at me which caused Jay to tense up but I put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down. While we waited, we sat down on some crates backstage and talked about anything and everything but Will had his eyes on me, which I could tell was making Jay angrier and angrier. I could tell Jay was about to say something before him and the rest of his team mates that were needed were called to go to the curtains.
That left Will and I alone backstage until Jay got back which would take a bit of time. I went to get off of the crate, Will offered me his hand.
“Mind if I help you, beautiful?”, he asked as he held out a hand which I politely declined which he completely understood.
I got down off of the crate and Will walked with me while we waited for the match to be over.
“What’s going on with Jay?”, Will asked, “he’s been acting very hostile the last couple of hours.”
“I think he’s jealous.”, I said simply.
“Jealous? Of what?”, he asked, obviously confused.
“I think he thinks you’re trying to take me away from him.”, I said which caused Will to chuckle.
“Not a chance, just being a nice person.”, soon we would hug and suddenly I looked over and saw Jay who turned on his heels, storming away. I would soon get out of Will’s arms, chasing Jay.
“Jay! Jay! Wait!”, I yelled while chasing him throughout the arena, he was ignoring me and he was obviously pissed.
Soon, we stopped at the locker room. He went inside and tried to shut the door, but I managed to slip inside before he could, he would walk away avoiding me at all costs.
“Jay..”, I said before getting cut off.
“Save it! Go ahead and go be with Will!”, he yelled which caused me to chuckle.
“Now, why would I do that?”, I asked which caused him to glare at me.
“You were fucking hugging him and he’s been really close to you, you two might as well be a thing!”, he yelled which only caused me to laugh.
“It’s so stupid that you think Will could possibly take me away from you.”, I said which caused Jay to calm down a little bit, so I went on.
“Listen, I know you’re not perfect, nor am I. I know you get jealous but there’s no reason to be. There is no other man I would rather be with.The only man that could ever put up with me would be you, Jay.”, I said, walking closer to him. He would hold me close, I would lay my head on his chest, he would run his fingers through my hair before whispering in my ear.
“I love you.”
“I love you too, baby and I always will.”
Updated Request Rules & Guidelines
My first set of WWE Fanfiction Requests!
Hey everyone, if you’re reading this and are interested in submitting a request here are the rules/ guidelines of my doing requests. I thought long and hard about doing this and while I’m nervous I feel like doing requests will give me a kick to write more.
Requests will remain open as long as I feel like. I have the right to close them but will give fair warning in advance of closing the request.
Rules/ Guidelines:
1.      All requests will be for male superstar / female reader (i.e. Finn Balor X Y/N). I have not written slash in a long time and am not prepared to jump back in. I will be dipping my toe back into that in the future but not now.
2.      No self-harm/rape/death stories. They aren’t for me. I can’t write them. Note: Other things such as depression, anxiety, etc. are okay and allowed to be a part of the request but I will not write extremely triggering things. It’s difficult to write for me and even more difficult for some to read.
3.      Requests will be filled as I am inspired by them. Not first come/first serve. You can’t rush writing.
4.      Relating to the above rule you must be patient. If you are pushy or flat-out mean about how long it is taking to fill your request I will not finish it, no matter how good an idea it is.
5.      I will write fluff, angst and smut. Be specific in what you are looking for.
6.      I will accept requests from Anonymous but please know that if I can’t reply to your request there is no way of notifying you when it’s going up/ if I would like clarification on your request.
7. If you request smut you must be 18 years of age or older (AKA off anonymous and someone that lists their age in their profile). Also, if you request smut I cannot guarantee it will happen. If it doesn’t fit the story I won’t just throw it in there.
If you want to help inspire me:
1.      Submit a particular image/ lyric/song/quote you associate with the request. I will try and use that as a guideline for my story.
2.      Give me specifics. Don’t just say “A cute fluffy story with Pete Dunne, please and thanks!” That’s not enough.
Wrestlers I will write for: (Note, I know much more about WWE wrestlers than other promotions so please be kind if I don’t their characterization just right.)
A final reminder: If the rules are not adhered to/ a request makes me uncomfortable I will not complete the request. You all need to understand that a request is just that, a request. I will do my best to fill them all but this is not a contract. So please, be understanding of mine, as well as all, writer’s limitations and guidelines.
Fluff, blood mention
“I hate hospitals,” Will whined.
“Shut up, you big baby. It’s just a few stitches,” she said as she continued to stitch him up. He had suffered a rather nasty cut in a match with Jimmy Havoc earlier today and Will, being the child that he was, had complained the entire way to the clinic.
 Luckily, she was a nurse there and she had a bit of time before her next patient. When her coworker brought Will in, bleeding just above his eye, she just sighed and set to work fixing him up.
“You know you have to cover your head, right?” she asked.
“Well, when ya got a fuckin’ barbed wire wrapped bat comin’ at your head, you tend to freeze. OW!” he yelped.
“I’m done, you dumbass,” she replied, stepping back. “Remember to keep your stitches dry for 24 to 48 hours and then come back in about 5 to 7 days so I can take them out. Got it?”
“Got it. There is one more thing I wanted to ask you, though,” Will said with a mischievous grin.
“What is that?”
“Kiss my booboo and make it better?”
She rolled her eyes and laughed.
“I won’t kiss there but I will do this.” She kissed Will on the forehead then on his lips. He smiled against her lips and whispered,
“Dinner later?”
“Of course. Now go away and try to avoid Jimmy for the next week or so,” she told him as she led him out the door.
As someone who has dyed there hair red, this dye job had me smiling. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but something so crap definitely needs a story.
some partial movie and wrestling reviews
Tumblr media
I don’t want to finish these, but I don’t want to just delete them either! It’s a few short sentence/reviews of movie, and half a wrestling show review/start from January of this year. I should go back and watch/review fully all the wrestling from January to Quarantine at some point.
Here are a bunch of movies I've watched in the last while. I was going to rank them or rate them, but I'll just write a few words about each. They're roughly in chronological order, spanning the last few weeks (months?) or so.
MacGruber - I love this stupid, stupid movie. From every wrestler cameo to Val Kilmer's performance.
Geostorm - Speaking of stupid movies. Granted, this was a while ago, but I barely remember anything about this one. But I am certain I watched it. And Gerard Butler saved the world or something somehow.
Austin Powers 3 - I started this to just enjoy the opening credits thing, but ended up watching the whole thing. It's kinda bad, and ages the worst out of the trilogy, but Goldmember is way funnier than Fat Bastard.
The Other Guys - Michael Keaton gives such a bizarre and hilarious performance in this one, especially the TLC monologue. Also I'm always caught off guard by the ending credits / climax being an overt anti wall street / capitalism message.
Reno 911 Miami - Another one that I started only for the opening joke / cameo (I wanted more of The Rock after Other Guys, obviously), but watched the rest. I was never a huge fan of Reno 911, but I generally liked everything I saw, including this movie!
Scary Movie 2 -This was real bad
Wet Hot American Summer - Really funny and great background watching for anything. I think I was watching this after Oscars season for Bradley Cooper.
The Fate of The Furious (8) - Charlize Theron is such a badass in this. Also, more The Rock.
Avengers Infinity War- All these movies suck, I'm a moron and watch them anyways so I can be part of the ~discourse~.
Ghost Ship - I started this just for the opening part, and managed to actually turn it off. I'm not proud of not watching the whole movie, but it is what it is. It is really one hell of a wild first 8 minutes or so of this movie.
Ant Man & The Wasp - Okay, I take it back about the all of them sucking, I like Paul Rudd and this was mostly fun and enjoyable and the MCU would be better if most of the movies were more fun.
Triple Frontier - This is a kinda surprisingly deep and slow-burning shooty heist war thriller. Those are a lot of buzzwords, but it's pretty wild. I liked Ben Affleck in this! Everyone else is fine, too.
Avengers Endgame - Now we're back at all these movies suck. The opening is pretty interesting, to be honest, but then everything just slides back into a slog with all the barrage of characters and time heist, and versions of characters until your mind is leaking out of your ears. And that's before everyone materializes on the non-descript brown battlefield to show off their powers. Despite all the financial success, the best thing I can say is that I don't think they're ever going to pull off something like this again. But I shouldn't be so optimistic.
The Matrix - A classic. I love this movie, and it's super timeless. Even with some of the computer/tech stuff getting lapped in the 20 years since 1999.
Matrix Reloaded - I think it's a little unfairly maligned. The freeway stuff, the twins, most of the "Burly Brawl", were all great. However, the Merovingian and the Architect absolutely deserve all the jokes and SNL sketches and such at their expense.
Equilibrium - Didn't finish this once it got to the part with dogs and I remembered the rest of the plot. And remembered I didn't really like it. Some of the "gun-fu" stuff is cool, and Sean Bean's early contribution to the movie is hilarious.
Mission Impossible Fallout - Love these movies. Henry Cavill is pretty great in this one. This franchise has really been doing an amazing job running alongside Fast and Furious and being able to up the ante again and again. I'm really excited for where they end up going with the next two simultaneous sequels. Also it's probably a little too fan fiction-y for me to say, but it'd probably be cool if this franchise somehow crossed over with Hobbs & Shaw. (Never too much The Rock)
Halloween (2018) - Really surprised it took me so long to watch this. It's really up my alley, with me loving remakes, horror movies, this horror movie in particular, and also the work of the Danny McBride brain trust behind the camera/script. Jamie Lee Curtis is tremendous, and Judy Greer proves a great addition to the franchise. I really enjoyed it, it's definitely set the bar pretty high to be honest for these types of sequels (remakes or reboots or whatever you want to call them).
<><><><><><><><><><><><>
January has been a stacked month for wrestling. I'm just going to try to sum up all the great stuff I've seen so far. As I write this, the World's Collide  and Royal Rumble events are yet to come. The NJPW USA tour is in full swing as well, with their huge events going down over the next two weekends back in Japan. Also, a brief note about stuff missing - I saw a few NXT, NXT UK, RAW, and Smackdown matches mixed in, but very few of the full shows. Random thoughts from those - Keith Lee's title win was amazing. Lacey Evans legitimately is looking better. WALTER is still the best. My star ratings are on the 5 scale with fractions (1-20 essentially), just like Meltzer if you care about that. Anyways, let's start on New Year's Day.
January 1st - AEW Dynamite
Cody d. Darby Allin   ***1/2 -This was a really solid match, calling back to their previous draw, but without anything really great to push it over the top. Cody might be the most popular person in all of AEW, so maybe it's too soon to cool him off. I was still hoping for Darby to win and shoot into that next level. The victory with Arn's (completely legal) help was good to put him over, but kinda predictable.
Riho [c] d. Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, & Hikaru Shida *** -The champ retains in a match with the good type of chaos. The Baker frustration continued, as well as Nyla Rose lashing out and continuing her run as the enemy of tables everywhere.
Jon Moxley d. Trent **3/4 -Every match doesn't have to be a nailbiter, but there was never any doubt that Mox was in trouble here. They're both great, but this didn't really rise above the level of "just a match".
Sammy Guevara d. Dustin Rhodes **1/2 -This was a little messy and unmemorable, with some sloppy interference. But good to see Sammy get over on the veteran and continue some more of the Inner Circle vs Elite stuff.
The Elite d. Lucha Bros/PAC ***1/2 -I'm not the biggest fan of the Young Bucks, but they absolutely delivered in this main event. It was a fun, wild spotfest by some of the most talented people in the company. Omega looked pretty great too.
January 4th - NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 14 Day One I skipped all the early big tag matches that didn't have Liger. The Trios thing was pretty disappointing. Liger's farewell was great even if I didn't know half of the people involved until commentary explained their role and relationship and all.
FinJuice d. G.o.D [c]  ***1/2 -NJPW's tag division always gets the short end of the stick, but this was still a really good back and forth match. GOD made the good guys look especially great, and it was laid out to see them overcome the Bullet Club nonsense in the most satisfying way. Here's hoping this title change can reboot the tag division and get some fresh matches and great stuff going in 2020.
Jon Moxley d. Lance Archer [c] ****3/4 -Moxley seized the US Title in a wild, bloody hurricane of a wrestling match. Lance Archer more than held his own in the "Texas Death Match" with NJPW's unique rule set. The match managed to overcome that slight awkwardness and still be great. I can't say enough good things about this one.
Hiromu Takahashi d. Will Ospreay [c] ***** -Perfect match. The story was laid out with Hiromu being slightly rusty coming back, to Will being a little bit arrogant, ending with the crazy new finisher finally coming out to put the champion away. This was my first live major Hiromu match, and he definitely lived up to expectations. Ospreay continues to build on his great 2019 with yet another match of the year candidate right out of the gate.
3/12/23 Fact or Fiction
Statement #1: Backstage drama will continue to follow CM Punk upon his return to WWE. FACT - ...but fact with a caveat, as the issue with Punk at this point is the expectation of backstage drama will follow him around, meaning there's going to be added scrutiny of everything he says and does, and the problem with the expectation of Punk causing problems is that it runs the risk of becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy - especially given Punk's track record of responding to any kind of pressure by lashing out
Statement #2: If we’re not going to get traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team matches anymore then the War Games matches should include elimination rules in the end. FICTION - Adding eliminations to WarGames would only serve to overcomplicate the stipulation, especially as the point of the stipulation is (usually) the faces having to overcome a numerical disadvantage throughout the match - so adding eliminations on top of that is overegging the proverbial pudding
Statement #3: You blame the sale of WWE to Endeavor for the first hour of Survivor Series being one big commercial for Ruffles. FICTION - Considering how the achievements list for several WWE games from 2K18 onwards had literal ads for Snickers and KFC in them, no, it is nothing to do with Endeavor. Instead it's late stage capitalism, which is why we get matches sponsored by Mountain Dew and Army of the Dead on WWE PPVs in the last few years
Statement #4: Will Ospreay made the right move signing with AEW. FACT - The main thing AEW's uppercard needs is a refresh considering Bryan Danielson is winding down his career, Chris Jericho has outlived his welcome around the main event scene, CM Punk is...well you know where he is, and while they are elevating Swerve Strickland organically a signing like Ospreay allows the landscape of their headline scene to change around him - and this wouldn't really happen in WWE as the options for the next 6-9 months are Roman's Reign of Terror continuing to break record in inorganic ways or giving Cody his moment, so Ospreay would be in a holding pattern for some time
Statement #5: The best tag team wrestling is in AEW. FACT - It didn't occur to Matt Hardy that there's a reason that The Hardys haven't been pushed much in AEW, and that's because they just cannot hang with the majority of the division and all they can do is play the hits at half speed and that just will not work against the likes of FTR, Aussie Open, Top Flight, Kings of the Black Throne et al due to the standard being so much higher
Statement #6: It is already clear that AEW doesn’t know what to do with Adam Copeland. FICTION - In the ring they know exactly what they're doing with Edge Adam Copeland as they're mainly using him in tag sprints so he is still getting the maximum impact out of his appearances in the way The Hardys cannot (okay, those questions lined up well for me...)and he's contributing in segments as well, not least as he isn't Happy To Be Here and instead has slotted into a groove pretty quickly and doesn't appear to have missed a step in the ring or on the mic
Statement #7: Cheap Heat is the best pro-wrestling podcast. FICTION - TBH when I listen to podcasts I tend to go for something more chill and certainly not something you need to consult a fan wiki in order to understand the tsunami of references and in jokes, which is why Renee Paquette or Kevin Nash are more the sort of thing that I will listen to, though this is more my preference than anything else
Statement #8: You would pay to listen to a podcast. FICTION - That's like expecting people to pay in order to use a free social media platform, and what sort of 🔔🔚 would suggest something as monumentally dense as that...?
Opening Requests
My first set of WWE Fanfiction Requests!
Hey everyone, if you’re reading this and are interested in submitting a request here are the rules/ guidelines of my doing requests. I thought long and hard about doing this and while I’m nervous I feel like doing requests will give me a kick to write more.
Requests will remain open as long as I feel like. I have the right to close them but will give fair warning in advance of closing the request.
Rules/ Guidelines:
1.      All requests will be for male superstar / female reader (i.e. Finn Balor X Y/N). I have not written slash in a long time and am not prepared to jump back in. I will be dipping my toe back into that in the future but not now.
2.      No self-harm/rape/death stories. They aren’t for me. I can’t write them. Note: Other things such as depression, anxiety, etc. are okay and allowed to be a part of the request but I will not write extremely triggering things. It’s difficult to write for me and even more difficult for some to read.
3.      Requests will be filled as I am inspired by them. Not first come/first serve. You can’t rush writing.
4.      Relating to the above rule you must be patient. If you are pushy or flat-out mean about how long it is taking to fill your request I will not finish it, no matter how good an idea it is.
5.      I will write fluff, angst and smut. Be specific in what you are looking for.
6.      I will accept requests from Anonymous but please know that if I can’t reply to your request there is no way of notifying you when it’s going up/ if I would like clarification on your request.
 If you want to help inspire me:
1.      Submit a particular image/ lyric/song/quote you associate with the request. I will try and use that as a guideline for my story.
2.      Give me specifics. Don’t just say “A cute fluffy story with Pete Dunne, please and thanks!” That’s not enough.
Wrestlers I will write for: (Note, I know much more about WWE wrestlers than other promotions so please be kind if I don’t their characterization just right.)
 A final reminder: If the rules are not adhered to/ a request makes me uncomfortable I will not complete the request. You all need to understand that a request is just that, a request. I will do my best to fill them all but this is not a contract. So please, be understanding of mine, as well as all, writer’s limitations and guidelines.
Lost - Kenny Omega
Was going to post a Will Ospreay one-shot...but then the DM happened.  I’m convinced Kenny understands the thirst levels.
This is fluff though.  Cause I suck at writing smut (in my opinion, but I’m trying to improve) and fluffy Kenny is just... *sigh*
Please let me know if you’d like to be included in any future tag lists!
~2300 words.
     You don’t know what it was that convinced you to completely change your life and move to Japan, but, well, when your mind was fixed on something, you were determined to make it happen.
     It all happened so quickly, too. You were stuck in a dead-end job, not your ideal job of teaching, and you were fed up of waiting for someone to call. A friend of a friend at a party had mentioned how they knew someone who had gone to Japan to teach and had loved it, just absolutely loved it, so you researched it when you got home at 2.am.
     You remember your parents not being too keen on the idea. They were fine with you leaving the nest so long as you stayed in the same city; you moving to the other side of the world was not in the cards. Never mind that you didn’t speak the language, had no way of communicating with anyone, wouldn’t be able to drive…
     But you were steadfast. You’d gotten in touch with an agency that hired teachers, went for an interview, and were granted a second interview with a school in Tokyo. 20 minutes later over Skype, you were offered the position to teach English at an elementary school. They even offered you a furnished apartment.
      You remember your mom crying, especially at the airport. Your dad was emotional too but he didn’t cry until after you left. She hugged you and didn’t let go for at least five minutes, despite you telling her you were fine, that you were a grown woman and could fend for yourself and that someone would be meeting you in Tokyo to take you to the school and your apartment. That didn’t help at all. Your mom still cried; you still had to pry her arms off of you.
     Everything was fine, initially. Somebody had met you at the airport, and had brought you to your school, where you met your new colleagues. You were then ushered to your apartment, given a pass for the Tokyo Metro, and all the other things that made you feel welcome in your new country. But then they left, and you had a few weeks to go until the school year started.
      That’s when the culture shock hit you. You loved Tokyo and being able to walk everywhere you needed to go, but the culture shock hit you fast. You brought an electronic translator with you everywhere, and studied the language religiously every night to be able to read the most basic things, but even that wasn’t helping.
      Then it happened.
 - - -
     You found yourself in a store, looking at the shelves full of pads and tampons. You tried putting the symbols into your translator, but it wasn’t working properly. You had pulled out your dictionary, but your translations were horribly wrong. Feeling utterly helpless, and with no one around to help you, you burst into tears. You had assured your mother you were a grown ass woman, yet here you were, crying in an aisle of a store because you couldn’t find the right pads.
     As if things couldn’t get any worse, on cue, three American men turned the corner and saw you crying. One of them, with a loud pair of sideburns, had muttered ‘Oh, shit’ when he saw you. Another, with long hair, looked confused.
    The man with curly hair surveyed you before approaching you. “Hey, are you okay?” he asked, his voice soft and friendly. You shook your head no, trying to wipe your tears away with the back of your hand. “What’s wrong?” he asked.
     “I can’t…I can’t read the labels,” you managed to sputter out. “My translator isn’t working and I can’t read the labels to get pads and tampons.”
     “Oh…OH,” the curly-haired man nodded his head. “It’s alright, don’t worry about it. I can help you. I’m fluent in Japanese,” he tried to calm you down. “What kind do you need?”
     Oh my fucking God. Were you really about to describe your menstrual cycle to a complete and utter stranger? “H-Heavy flow pads, w-with w-wings,” you stuttered out, completely embarrassed. “And s-s-super protection tampons w-with a plastic applicator.”
     “Okay. Heavy flow…heavy flow…” he scanned the shelves, his hand gliding along some of the packaging. You were cringing at his repetition of ‘heavy flow’. “You said with wings?” You nodded your head. “Okay, that’s this one here,” he said, handing you the small package.
     “Bigger one,” you sniffled out. “I need more.”
     “Oh! Okay, then that’s this one,” he said, putting the small package back on the shelf and grabbing the larger one from the bottom. “Now, super protection tampons? Plastic applicator? Big package?” You nodded your head. He scanned the shelves again and handed you the correct box.
     “Do you need help with anything else, sweetheart?” the man with the loud sideburns asked you. “Not just this stuff. Any other help you need?”
     You thought about the long list of things you needed to pick up. You were going to rely on your translator for most of it. Still embarrassed at the situation, you nodded your head at the man’s words.
     “Okay, great. We’ll help you,” the man with the long hair smiled. “Well, my brother and I don’t speak Japanese, but Kenny can help you,” he pointed to the curly-haired man. “We’ll just be here to offer some jokes.”
     “I’m so embarrassed,” you muttered.
     “Don’t be,” the man they referred to as Kenny shook his head. “Is this your first time in Japan?”
     “Yeah. I just moved here a couple of weeks ago to teach English,” you revealed.
     He smiled warmly at you. “That’s awesome. So what else did you need help with?”
- - -
     You don’t know how your luck made you stumble upon the three nicest people in Japan, but it did. After telling Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, and Kenny Omega what you needed more help with, they cancelled their plans, got you everything you needed, and even took you out to dinner. Words couldn’t express how grateful you were.
     Kenny had even given you his phone number. You were shocked at first – literally, this man knew about your menstrual cycle within thirty seconds of meeting you – but he offered to help you out, to be a friendly face amongst the sea of people in Tokyo. And he was just that. You spoke on a regular basis, and whenever he was free he would show you around Tokyo. He’d bring you to restaurants for authentic Japanese food. You’d practice your Japanese on him and he’d give you some pointers. Suffice to say, your mom had finally calmed down once you told her you’d met a fellow ex-pat and become friends. She stopped calling twice a day, much to your relief.
     The school year had started and you settled into your work. Your students were hilarious and adorable and you adored them so much. Your colleagues were polite and a few had even invited you to their homes for dinner. Your routine was simple but allowed you enough time to prep for your classes yet still explore Tokyo.
     Tonight, however, you had decided to stay late at your school to get your prep for the upcoming week completed. It was dark by the time you left your school, but you still went about your way, walking towards your metro stop and getting on the train that would take you back to your apartment.
     You didn’t know what happened, but the train most definitely did not take you home. You don’t know if you had gotten on the wrong one or if, because it was a much later time than when you usually got on, it wasn’t going the same route for some reason, but you didn’t recognize any of the station names and started to get nervous. At the next stop, you immediately got off, going up to street level to see if you were familiar with the area and could just walk home the rest of the way. You recognized no storefront, no street signs, nothing.
     Oh God. You were lost in Tokyo.
     If you weren’t panicking then, you definitely were now. You could already feel your hands shaking as you reached into your purse to look for your map, but it wasn’t there. The next thing you reached for was your dictionary. As always, you tried looking up the symbols, but the more nervous you got about the fact that you were God knows where in a city of 37 million people, the more you just weren’t able to read. The more people walked passed you, completely ignoring you, the more nervous you got.
     Stuffing your dictionary back into your purse, you pulled out your phone and dialled the number of the one person you knew could get you out of this mess you had created for yourself.
     “Hey,” his voice was happy and upbeat as he answered his phone.
     “Kenny?” you asked, your voice shaky. “Kenny I need your help.”
     “What’s the matter?”
    “IstayedbackatschoollateandgotonthetrainlateandnowI’mlostandhavenocluewhereIam,” you rushed out without taking a breath, looking around you to try and find anything you were familiar with.
    “Whoa whoa whoa, slow down,” he said. “What’s going on?”
     “I stayed late at school to prep for next week, and when I got on the train to go home I didn’t recognize any of the stop names, so I got out but now I’m lost and I have absolutely no clue where I am,” you explained, a fresh set of tears falling from your eyes. “I’m so sorry to bother you but --”
     “Are you okay?” he asked, his voice serious.
     “I’m fine, I’m just nervous and crying on some random street in Japan like a crazy person.”
     “Are you on a main street?” You looked around.
     “Uh…I think so?”
     “What station did you get off at?”
     “I don’t know!” you practically wailed. “I have no clue. I can’t even translate it properly cause I’m so nervous and I--”
     “It’s alright. Just send me a picture. Snap one now and send it to me,” he said.
     You did as you were told, getting a quick picture of the name of the metro station before sending it to Kenny. You hoped to God he knew where you were or else you were done for. You may as well just pack it in now and call it day. Book your flight home tomorrow. Never travel again.
     “I know exactly where you are,” he said. Those six words were like music to your ears. “Just stay there, okay? I’ll be there in about ten minutes.”
     “Oh my God!! Thank you! God, thank you so much Kenny. I’m so embarrassed. Thank you,” you kept repeating.
     “Don’t sweat it. Just wait there. I’ll come get you.”
     Despite the reassurance that Kenny would appear at any moment, that didn’t stop your nerves from staying in your system; it didn’t stop the tears running down your cheek as you meticulously checked your phone every thirty seconds, counting down the ten minute time frame Kenny gave you. You paced around, hoping it would calm you, but it didn’t. At eleven minutes, you thought he was just late. At twelve minutes, that there was some sort of delay to make him late. At thirteen minutes, maybe he had forgotten you. At fourteen minutes, maybe he had gotten lost too. Oh God, now you were responsible for both of you getting lost and -----
     Your trail of thoughts halted once you saw the familiar blonde curls walking down the sidewalk. He called out your name and waved, so casual, like he was meeting you for a night out instead of saving you from your impending doom.
    You ran towards him, engulfing him in a hug. “Thank God you’re here,” you whimpered, as you laid your head against his chest. “I was so scared.”
     “It’s okay,” he said, laughing slightly but hugging you back. “There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. This happened to me a few times too, you know.”
     “I’m so sorry I bothered you,” you said, pulling away slightly to look him in the eye. “If you were busy --”
     “You didn’t bother me, don’t worry,” he cut you off, his hands on your hips. “Do you want to know where you are?”
     “I guess that would be useful.”
     He smiled. “You usually get off at Yotsuya-sanchome?” he asked. You nodded your head. His hands on your hips gripped you tighter as he spun you around to look at the metro station’s name. “Right now you’re outside of Shinjuku-gyoemmae.”
     You gulped. You were literally one stop away from where you needed to be. And you were freaking out like you were on the other side of the city of something. If you weren’t completely embarrassed before, you were now. You turned back around, hiding your head in your hands as you laid your head against his chest again. “I’m such an idiot,” you mumbled.
     “You’re not an idiot,” he assured you. “You’re in a foreign city where you don’t speak the language and you thought you were lost. It happens.”
     “You probably think I’m some sort of dweeb.”
     He chuckled. “Far from it,” he said as your head rose from his chest to look him in the eye again. “Hey, you wanna go grab some dinner?”
     “What?”
     “Let’s grab some dinner. I know this amazing okonomiyaki place a few blocks away.”
     “Really?”
     “Yeah,” he smiled. “Let me take you out.”
     The longer Kenny looked into your eyes the more your nerves subsided. You couldn’t help but smile when you noticed he was waiting patiently for your answer. “That sounds nice.”
     His hands left your hips and the two of you began walking down the street. You noticed he kept looking over at you quickly, a small smile playing on his lips. You started to do the same, and it was like you two were playing a game. Eventually, when you got to the street corner, waiting for the light to change, you felt him slip his hand over yours.
     Your hand felt warm, secure. You looked over at Kenny and saw him already smiling at you. “You know…so you don’t get lost again,” he said.
     You couldn’t help but blush. “Good idea.”
