HI, uhm this morning I was thinking and remembered Warriors' shaved head, something that makes him unrecognizable and makes him inconspicuous in a time of hardship, just another poor schmuck. However, a shaved head is also a marker of grief in Ancient Greece (or at least in their plays). This made me stop and reconsider Wars' position, posing the jerking shifts between past and present, remembered and real, as a form of loss. The movement from what once was and relationships once had to a landscape where he is nearing death, he gained family once more and shredded it, hoping to save it. I wonder if it is in that liminal space between waking and dreaming where that loss is truly processed, some recognition that neither experiences, whether real or fake, feel right. And in that, I believe he finds movement forward, his mind brings him whispers of what could've been, and he is roused by what currently is. His hair has started to grow, a hint of growth beyond his grief. and then his hand is gone and his fall from grace and heroship is cemented, soooo ?? i guess we have more thematic tragedy to come lol.
Anon, I think I'm in love with you

Thoughts incoherent cuz it's too early for me still but hc that during Onslaught + Echoes Eight returns to the Empire but mostly to manage Jadus' financials and other garbage that he can't take care of all the way over in solitude, so he just returns to tend to his property and other shit, all the while playing the role of bereaved widower whose husband hasn't come back from the war so he can pretend he's too melancholic and aggrieved to get involved in current conflicts (liar). This of course, makes a lot of Sith fall for it bc when he starts swiping at his tears it gets really awkward, and it's a bad look if you ask someone's weeping spouse to fight for you instead when they're wailing about how they feel so unsafe and alone and they're just a weak little officer who needs a big strong Sith to protect them yet they will wait an eternity for Lord Jadus to return and oh woe.
The minute they leave, he drops the act.

Am re-reading Hogg's Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner and I know it's not a new or original thought but it's just striking to me again how young George (younger) and his brother Robert must have been during the tennis match and Black Bull mob scenes.
If the 'famous session' refers to the 1703 session of parliament (or even if it refers to the previous year's sitting which Queensberry also oversaw), and if old Dalcastle married in 1687 (or later), then at most George could have been 16 and his brother 15, and it's probable that both boys are younger.
I don't remember too many of the details from the first time I read this book so will have to finish it before I make any further judgement. However I don't think it detracts from Robert's culpability or nastiness in any way to take into account his probable age in the earlier portion of the narrative. I think makes for a more interesting reading when forcibly reminded that he's a young teenager. Even taking into account different social mores and expectations placed on children in both the period in which the novel is set, and the early 19th century when it was written, it seems to me that that's an element that will still have particular significance for readers in the 21st century, regardless of one's personal experience with extreme forms of Presbyterianism.

ANON!!!!!!!!! OMG IM GONNA UGLY CRY!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS MEANS A WHOLE LOT TO ME!!! 💜💜💜
first, i get it!! this is partially because my life is really boring, but there’s so many beautiful and interesting things in the avatar lore that just!!!! make me want to summon a demon and sell my soul and then also my parent’s soul just so I could experience a life in pandora as a na’vi,, no joke cause I think I really would
AND LIKE!! I’m also a Neteyam girlie!! and I think that’s quite clear from my posts and how his parts are always longer and more detailed and like, better in my head, because I just like him so much and can’t help having that bias lol but ao’nung has been creeping up on me lately, a week ago i wouldn’t spare him a second glance BUT NOW??? I’m going feral because of him!! completely unhinged!!
also, thank you so much!!! I’ve been struggling with finding my writing style so I’m kinda insecure about my stuff and this just, completely floored me <3 I’m so so glad to know my characterization feels authentic, that’s a world-sized compliment to me 🫶

It's you. It's all your fault. You're the reason I love sad, broken, bitter, hurting men. You're the reason I see men with ill intent and/or depressed eyebags and say "I bet he could use a friend. A confidant."
You.
It's all your fault.

I keep seeing posts about Roe v Wade being overturned and they’re framed like “Well you should care because if you’re gay/trans or otherwise lgbt you’re next!” and like... A huge amount of the lgbt community /is/ directly affected by this because they can get pregnant but even if that wasn’t the case... You should care about reproductive rights anyway. If you are a good and moral person you would care- no ifs or buts.
