i cant shake the thought of how ivy reacts when she hears will's apartment address over the speaker to the firestation. like he used to live with her, then he moved out bc he needed a space that was HIS to cope with having to uproot from chicgo so hes beens taying there and they just havent gotten around to moving back in with one another so when she hears his address she of course runs so fast bc its not even her company thats called. shes on truck. engine is called. but she hears the number and shes running to the truck so fast, putting her gear on and herrmann's like 'they said engine?' and she just goes 'that's wills apartment' and of course he knows he would be the first one there if it had been his family so he lets her go with them.

all she can think of is that the last time a familiar address was said it was her sisters house and it was engulfed and her sister was missing so she has a million and one thoughts in her head. when they get there the building is in fact engulfed, will's nowhere to be seen and she has to (is forced to) completely ignore the gut reaction that is to just run into the building. herrmann sends her and ritter in to check will's floor, the rest of the group splitting up the other floors. and when hes not in his apartment she freaks a little becasue she knows he's home. but she fights the urge to go check the rest of the building, knowing theres other people there.

blah blah she helps a lady out and will's outside when she gets back out there, herrmann had to get him with the ladder from a window at the end of the hall and she drops her oxygen and mask to the ground before literally running up to him and hugging him and trying not to cry because all she could think as they went into his apartment (mind you it 100% was fully engulfed because thats where the fire started) and she saw how bad it was and she was so sure she was going to find him either unconscious or not breathing or worse and they just kind of stand there, hugging one another and he almost refuses to go to med to make sure his smoke inhalation isnt horrible but she forces him to because 'you and i both know how back smoke inhalation can be if you dont keep an eye on it or get it treated' and he agrees and yeah idk i just can imagine the amount of fear in both of them because of things that have happened.

i mean will's dad literally died from complications of the fire that was i his apartment building so i cant even imagine how scary it was for will nevermind for ivy just hearing it over the speaker.
