Recap of my Albedo/Aether fics in 2023

General stress from life got to me in the later half of the year, so I didn't get anything written past the summer. But I did get three things written earlier in the year. I wanted to do a quick recap of the Albedo/Aether fics in particular to celebrate having gotten anything written at all -- and to hopefully inspire me to write more in 2024.

Winter Solstice (G, Albedo/Aether): A simple and admittedly cheesy fic about Aether proposing to Albedo. One of the things that I love about this ship is the idea of the two of them finding deep connection and meaning in their relationship in spite of them needing to part ways eventually. The 3.3 event in Inazuma touched on similar ground thematically, so it inspired me to write this fic.

Of Dragons and Windblumes (T, Albedo/Aether and Durin/Dvalin): A fic about Albedo realizing his feelings for Aether by drawing parallels between himself and Durin, set during the first (2021) Windblume festival. Albedo is a fairly chill person, but he's dealing with two sets of strong emotions -- the joy of first love and the dread around his fate/purpose. His response is to stuff both sets of feelings into nice, neat little boxes and tuck them away.

(I would love to write the fic about how poorly this pans out, but that's the post-corruption AU that I've been struggling to write for the past three years. I do have one follow-up idea set between this fic and the AU's divergence from canon; that one has a better chance of happening this year.)

So... um... found this on Youtube and uh... guess he is getting his second story quest, and soon!

Maybe Hoyoverse doesn't HATE Venti but rather DISLIKE him... for some reason. (Like a tumblr user pointed out, look back to this years Windblume festival.)

-A Photograph’s Value (Albedo x Reader): Photographs could essentially freeze something in time. Even once hundreds of years pass, the image in a photograph is still the same.  

-Caught (Cyno x Reader):  Reader, a student in the Akademiya, has grown bored with studies and started seeking out different ways to get caught by the General Mahamatra. Culminating in the latest chase.

-Fireworks (Thoma x Reader): Thoma takes you, a Kamisato Clan member, to see the fireworks in person for the first time.  

-The Feeling Is...(Raiden Ei x Reader): While watching Ei practice, you thought about how to define your feelings for her.  

-Happy Day (Diluc x Reader): Diluc waits for you to return to his office with a surprise.  

-Expectations (Possessive!Childe x Reader): You struggle with your job and the shadow that looms over you - your boss.
