Omg please teach me about wine
actually I'd love to talk about wine pls what do u guys wanna know? ill like tell me basics but like pls ask away
so u got the basic most important info u ofc got red and white wine. then u got rose and sweet wine which by pretentious wine lovers isnt cosidered as real wine and then u have port and dessert wine. all these are made out of grapes.
all these grapes and different tho and if you're talking about wine u have two different ways of recogizing them
either ur talking the grape sort so for example chardonnay and verdejo which can also be a mixed so u can have like a sauvignon/verdejo wine which is two diff grapes in one bottle
and then u have regions for wines which for example is the rioja or the mersault region. you can have a chardonnay from the mersault region for example!!
and in those regions and in those grape sit gets complicated and deep but like so. the rioja region is traditionally for red wines because its a hot region in spain which means it gets a lot more direct sun and is so a lot more heavy in taste if you go to one of the specific regions lower and is a lot lighter in taste if you go higher in the mountains but they can all still be called a rioja. so you'll prob find a rioja tempranilo easily which are more heavy wines from the lower rioja region.

What type of grape is like, used the least for wine? If that makes sense?
ooooooh, uh good question, no clue, I dont really think there is one you have very commen grapes and less commen ones but most wines come from the same kinda grape, I would say a sauvignon and the chardonnay are the most commen grapes and so have the most different tastes

I want to like reds but I seem to gravitate towards the white wines more 😭 they just taste lighter to me especially when they’re very cold. And I love that feeling. What’s a good red? Tysm
ah completely understandable actually, most people seem to gravitiate towards lighter wines so whites because reds can be incredibly heavy and overwhelming.
and pinor nior is light most of the time and otherwise a multipiciano is always a good choice if ur starting to dabble in red wines but make sure ur wine fits w ur dinner otherwise the wine will never be nice!!

omg!! i enjoy wine too, an you’re right about it being ridiculous that it’s only considered for rich people. i don’t know much about it but after getting a job and having my own money i started experimenting and i tasted expensive stuff (i consider 100+ euros to b expensive) and cheap stuff too and my fav is a local one which only costs like 9euros. i was like i can’t believe i was gatekeeping myself from this goodness
yeah exactly!! I've been lucky enough to have had some beautifull and incredibly expensive wines in my lfie but a lot of the time unless you're drinking with someone who really knows and can say a lot about the wine an average priced wine is just as nice

Opinions on white whine (pinot blanc and bianco)?
I am more of a red wine drinker and if I do drink wines I tend to go for 100% chardonnays or a viognier so not my favorite thing but in the summer with a nice light dish or some soft fish I sometimes reach for it!!

you like wine too??? Its sort of a nichey interest ever since i read in vino duplicitas a few years ago and now I have so many favorites 🙈
yes! I wouldnt say it's like an intrest of mine but I grew up with it bc of my dad who's a collector/somalier and because I've worked in restaurants since I was 17 so I've had to learn to be able to sell them well but I've always loved learning about them!!
also sadly enough it's prob no nieche because people that like wine make it so pretentious and hard to reach while its really not hard to understand and so fun!
like u dont actually have to spend 15+ euros on a bottle for it to be good like 5 euro one at a good store can also be perfect u just need to know what to match it with!!
