Headcanon that Bunny complained so relentlessly about staying at the palazzo with Henry not because he disliked the rooms, but because he wanted to share a room with Henry. The suggestion of staying at the Grand Hotel was in hopes that they'd end up in a suite with only one room. Bunny just wanted to have a real life "oh no, there's only one bed" moment and I don't think we should shame him for it.
1. The way they dress. (dark academia gothic umbrella whore, twins in lightcolored coastal grandma looks, Francis.) (ITS THE 80s! Why're you dressed like that?)
2. They sometimes walk together in a horizontal line.
3. Richard looks at all of them with such awe, like that's your queer awakening, hon.
4. They all study Greek and Latin. The Classics. (Notoriously queer)
5. They have orgies for experiments.
6. Love Hexagon.
7. Richard's feelings toward Francis.
8. Charles' feelings toward Francis.
9. Francis' feelings towards both of them.
10. Richard imagines growing old with Francis.
11. Richard was nervous around Francis, until he flirted with him on the boat.
12. Richard drops everything to go see Francis in the hospital. (Also, takes him to the hospital that one time.)
13. Richard is so fucking worried for Francis because he has to be forced to marry a woman.
14. Camilla is tough bisexual coded. She gets hurt by a shard of glass in a lake, or shows richard her bruises / injuries (LITERALLY ABUSED by her brother) and she acts like it's not that bad. (I also headcanon Camilla as Trans.)
-Henry taught Bunny to waltz. Although Bunny said it was stupid, he actually really enjoyed it.
-Bunny tried really hard to get Henry back on good terms with Judy and his other friends.
-Henry, despite his distaste for technology, would talk Bunny to the drive-in movies. They’d sit in the backseat, and Bunny always fell asleep before the movie was over.
-Bunny had a few of Henry’s sweaters in his closet at pretty much all times.
-And he’d left enough clothing at Henry’s house to make three new outfits at any given point.
-Bunny cried when Henry moved off campus. He did the whole “but you can’t go!” thing. He almost won Henry over with it too.
-After Henry moved, Bunny started staying with him nearly every night. This ended shortly before the fall.
-The night before the murder, Henry and Bunny had made up about Rome and everything else. They slept in the same bed that night.
-Marion was not a cover girlfriend at all, and was probably aware of Henry and Bunny’s relationship.
I am on the verge of realizing Henry and Bunny's relationship as more than friends. And if this is not a theory as what I always blindly thought of, by god, this will break me. To know that it ended like that after all those years.
After Bunny found out about the murder, he was pestering Henry while being mean (Richard as an extremely unreliable narrator obviously exaggerating everything, but nonetheless Bunny was still mean) to the rest because of his & Henry's connection (best friends aside from the group and "more than friends") - his intentions were not to milk Henry's money like a gold digger (he is a gold digger tho let's be real), he was searching for proof and reassurance that things could go back to normal, to the way they used to be
