10 years ago, these were my favorite villains, and recently they were shown again in the advertising campaign of the new Winx season. And so there was a reason to draw these guys again 🖤

Sometimes I think about that scene where Ogron and Gantlos (ft Roxy) are reacting to the winx transforming like "Same old song and dance" and "Speak for yourself slut I like it aCTUALLY" or whatever, depends on the dub- Then Believix gets "earned", forcing the wizards to sit through a second sequence. And y'know. It's followed by Duman doing fucking

Probably doesn't mean anything except I've decided that it actually does. Not only did he hear Gantlos mentioning he finds it amusing, he also had his own conversation with Anagan that included a "Why don't you ever give us a twirl". Duman remained unconvinced until the winx made them watch another sequence so he just "This one goes out to y'all <3"d it up *does a lil spin* and you best believe Anagan is nearly pissing himself offscreen as it happens

This was me gaslighting myself into thinking the wizards are more interesting than they are for today mwah time for lunch

As I've been working on outlining the shit out of my Winx rewrite, I've been thinking a lot about how all the villains in the series desperately need to be treated like actual characters and given real motives. I know everyone loves Valtor and the Trix and the wizards of the black circle, but they're all equally boring as fuck because they're all just generically, black-and-white evil for no real reason. As such, I've started to come up with some potential backstories/motives for all of them, and I thought I'd share since I'd also love some feedback.

Something I think the series set up like it was going to do something with is the idea of the Trix having some sort of connection to the Ancestral Witches. If we keep what seems like the most canon timeline they appear to have settled on in the show, that the fall of Domino and everything happened about 18 years prior to season 3, then it wouldn't be unreasonable for the Trix to be the witches' granddaughters. I like the idea of that connection to the Ancestral Witches being the main thing that originally brought them together into their coven and that, as soon as they discover Bloom's true identity, their primary goal is killing her to finish what the witches started. With this, of course, would be the omission of bullshit rivalry between fairies and witches, though their ongoing conflict with the Winx could still start with Stella's ring, like in the original.

With Valtor, I would want him to be a person rather than a physical manifestation of the dragon flame that was made by the Ancestral Witches. I just think it would make him more interesting for him to have an origin story as a human, living in the world, that leads to his eventual corruption rather than him just being made evil by evil for evil. I have this vision of him coming from some country that was an ally of Domino but when something happened and they needed Domino's help, their allies turned their backs on them, inspiring Valtor's blossoming hatred for them as he personally suffered and watched the fallout of that betrayal. This all would've happened with the previous king and queen before Oritel and Marion btw, but it would take him a hot minute to learn the dark arts in order to pursue his revenge.

What I'd love to see is Valtor actually learning dark magic from Darkar, since I do also think Darkar should be a bigger deal than he was in canon. By learning from the Shadow Phoenix, who is the opposite of the Great Dragon, I feel like his magic would be both better suited to going against the dragon flame and more vulnerable to it. That would also bring back in some sort of dragon flame element without Valtor being a spark of the flame itself like in canon. So Valtor would gather the witches and attack Domino for personal revenge, with his focus being on ending the royal family, hence the way it all turned out with Daphne being a ghost, Oritel being a statue, Marion being sealed in his sword(?), and Bloom getting dumped out of a portal to spare her from the culling.

As for the wizards, I want them to be from Earth and for all their beef to be with Tir Na Og instead of just... all fairies, for no real reason. What I'm thinking is that Tir Na Og is the bridge between the Magic Dimension and Earth, so I take that to mean that Earth doesn't have any real magic of its own and what they have all comes from through Tir Na Og. Because of this imbalance that's so different from how the Magic Dimension is, that could put Earth-dwelling magic users in a position of power over non-magical people, and perhaps that all really starts with and is encouraged/exacerbated by the king and queen of the Earth fairies. I'm thinking it would be the sort of thing where they would've convinced all the non-magical people of Earth that they are deities of some kind and then abuse the shit out of the power and trust that gives them.

The wizards would've seen all the problems that would come with this abuse of power and would seek to destroy it. Knowing that all magic on Earth comes from Tir Na Og's connection to the Magic Dimension, they would decide to target Tir Na Og and take away the magic of all the magic users there before sealing the kingdom off from the Magic Dimension entirely. Their mission when they show up in s4 then becomes keeping Roxy from reconnecting Earth and the Magic Dimension and bringing back all the issues they originally sought to end.

Lastly, just to touch on Darkar, my main thing with him is that it really should be all about how he's the opposite of the dragon, so where the dragon flame creates, Darkar's shadows can only either mimic what already exists or destroy. Just as much as the creative nature of the dragon flame contributes to the dragon's desire to create, the nature of Darkar's powers contribute to his own desires to deceive and to destroy. It's not just that he's evil for the sake of it, he's evil to us because of the inherent nature of his magical abilities and how he himself is the living embodiment of what his powers represent, which I think adds sufficient depth for him to stop being so fucking boring. Also, Relix wouldn't just be the home of some McGuffin he's been chasing the whole time, I think it would actually be the resting place of the Great Dragon and his main goal would be the absolute destruction of everything (including himself) that could only be achieved by killing the dragon.

Thoughts? Feelings? Opinions? Should I go on and also dither on about villains from later seasons?

Started as just a mess on paper, ended up being used for lil design choices, color and harsh shading practise!! I love shading without an obvious and logical light source RAAAHHHHHhave a version without the harsh shadows too so you can see the hair and skin better why not-

Faragonda talks about the war between the Earth fairies and the magicians and gives the Winx a new mission to bring magic back to Earth. She says that once upon a time fairies ruled there and there were no wars and there was a complete utopia. But the first fact that can be drawn from this is that once upon a time fairies completely dominated people.

But I would like to see this story from the point of view of Ogron and his friends. To see the full picture, because perhaps the headmistress is distorting the facts and saying what is beneficial to her. If these fairies were so kind and fair, why did people rebel against them? And in the end they helped the magicians?

Do not forget that as soon as the Earth fairies are freed, they are eager to destroy humanity

{Bloom}: What if Sky is still in love with Diaspro? I mean, he saved me from Darkar and dropped everything to travel across the universe and be with me, but he was unwillingly engaged to her three years ago, so…

{Stella}: Am I overreacting to this whole Brandon/Mitzi thing? No, that’s silly. I never overreact. Oh my dragon! My hair is slightly askew! This is an emergency!

{Aisha}: I hope Musa and Riven finally figure their relationship out. I know they could fix it if they would only talk things out like adults.

{Musa}: Maybe Riven and I should talk things out like adults. Or I could develop a rebound crush on Jason, even though I barely know him…

{Gantlos}: Great. We’re being arrested. By a group of teenagers. With an excessive amount of glitter. This is a new low.

{Roxy}: I hope my dad doesn’t find that goose I’ve been hiding in my room…

{Tecna}: Do we actually have the legal authority to arrest people?

{Anagan}: I wonder whether, if I smile at Flora when she handcuffs me, she’ll smile back.

{Flora}: Anagan’s smiling at me. Should I smile back? I want to smile back. Damn, what does one usually do in this scenario?

{Duman}: I’m kinda hungry.

I thought I’d doodle and explain the wizard dynamics in my (now called) Dark Harmony AU:

Her and Ogron have a casual villain-henchman dynamic. He tells her of the plans and some helpful information and she gives insight on each Winx’s weakness or some Believix information he could use against them.

Just like with the other wizards Gantlos is protective of her, but even moreso due to her knowing what actually happened between the wizards and the Earth Fairies, and if this information gets to the Winx and eventually Morgana it could be quite bad for them, at least that’s what they believe

Anagan is the most chill and listens to Musa rant about her life, relationship with Riven and the recent conflict concerning her musician dreams and the Winx, mainly Bloom.

Duman and Musa get along really well and he helps her with her performances at the Frutti Music Bar. He also believes if his illness gets to him Musa can at least put his shapeshifting abilities to good use. He’s pretty excited to have a shapeshifter prodige.

Warnings: Yandere behavior, angst themes, kidnapping and etc

Valtor had become free again with the help of the black circle. They had the same goal. To have you so they planned together how to get you. The problem was your friends. Valtor worked his way into your mind implementing himself and the other wizards. They had the right chance soon enough.

The other girls were heading home for the summer but you decided to stay back. You felt that you were watched but never knew where or from. You took a walk outside of Alfea. Something told you to turn around. As soon as you turned around you saw a group of wizards. You gasped not understanding who they were.

"Who- who are you?" You asked feeling scared. They were just like the ones from your dreams. Valtor chuckled from behind you.

"Don't worry about that now." He said and used a spell to put you to sleep. The wizards walked into the portal to the Valtors and their castle. Ogron laid you on the bed making sure you would be comfortable. Gantlos and Anagon went to the field practicing their powers and recharging them.

Orgon and Valtor were glad to have you here. They were the most dominant and will be. Their word is final. They stayed in the room sitting on the couch waiting for you to wake up as they drank some wine.

Soon you woke up all confused for a bit. As you woke up you were shocked that you were in a place like this. You gasped sitting up. Ogron and Valtor stood up and went over to you. They grinned like they just found their prey.

"Hello, doll," Valtor spoke with a charming smirk.

"We are glad that you are ours now. Gantlos and Anagon will be glad to see you awake.." Ogron chuckled a bit.

'But first, you are ours and will learn the rules that are implemented for everyone's safety." Valtor said.

This time I wanted to draw something "large-scale" and kind of "stupid", and it turned out to be a mini-comic. The idea was spontaneous, and it seemed funny to me, so I brought it to life. However, I simplified the style a bit to make it look more like a comic and speed up the work process (it took a long time).😵😵😵

As you probably guessed, the idea was to exchange clothes. Judging by Anagan's face, one can only guess how much Duman is smaller than him. (And the eye shadow is also surprisingly suitable for him.)😂😂😂

At first I wanted Duman and Anagan to exchange clothes only among themselves. And then I wanted to try on other guys' clothes on them. (Anagan in Gantlos clothes looks purely like Van Helsing. I do not know why…😅😅😅)

Duman had problems not only with the size of the clothes, but also with its "complexity". Gantlos' clothes, unlike his own, have too many different fasteners, rivets and straps, and Duman could not cope with them himself. (And he, of course, refused Anagan's help, even though he offered.😁😁😁)

If enough people appreciate it, then I will make a sequel with Ogron and Gantlos. (Everything is in your hands.)

[Ogron is pacing back and forth, trying to find a way to divide and out-wit the fairies and the specialist. Gantlos comes up with ideas and counter questions, while Duman and Anagan simply stands their rather amused by Ogrons pacing and frustration. Being outsmarted isn't something Ogron is very used to, making him quiet agitated. Duman accidentally lets out a small giggle, which Ogron hears, resulting in him turning around immediately, pointing at the both of them]

{Ogron} - (Very angry) Are you two just gonna stand there like the ugly girls at prom or are you going to pitch in?
