She sends him a link to a Tweet from @espnf1: “Henry Fox, the current runner-up in the driver standings and the son of racing legend Arthur Fox, to leave Windsor. Next year, he will be driving for Ferrari.”

Alex doesn’t even have the time to process before he’s clicking on the link, going directly to Twitter to find out what the fuck is going on.

Ferrari’s decided to replace Alex's retiring teammate with Henry Fox. Alex’s fucking nemesis.

Seven Sentence Sunday

Hi! You might've noticed my header's absence—that's because @littlemisskittentoes made me this lovely moodboard for my F1 rivals-to-lovers fic which I'm writing for the big bang, and which I'll be sharing a snippet of today.

Alex opens his mouth, though how he plans to respond, he’s not certain. Before any words come to mind, though, his phone slips through his hand, bouncing onto his shoe before landing on the tile between them. Alex kneels down to pick it up, momentarily saved from forming a reply. His brain’s still coming up empty, though, when Henry speaks again. “You might as well suck my cock while you’re down there.” Alex whips his head up to make sure he didn’t just imagine those words coming out of Henry’s mouth. He’s prevented from pinching himself when Henry adds, “It’ll be good practice, looking up at me.”

Sevenish Sentence Sunday

I decided not to miss another week!!! Thanks to everyone who's been tagging me, since tumblr has been weird (I don't know if it still is?) I'm going to actually thank y'all below the cut :)

And, there’s a series of rumors circulating that Ferrari’s going to be forced to choose between the two of you,” June finishes with a huff. “Okay, but that’s just a rumor, right?” “Yes, but you’re missing the point, Alex.” “The point that I hate Fox and am looking forward to beating him in the Driver’s Championship?” Alex clarifies. It’s probably a good thing that June can’t see the smirk on his face. “I don’t think anyone missed that.”

Honestly, Alex is fucking grateful Henry’s not in color that’s actually more flattering on him. He’s pretty sure Henry would be a danger to himself and others—they work around pretty heavy equipment. What if someone dropped something? Catching sight of Henry Fox in his race trim is no reason to lose a toe.  “Oh,” Henry says when he catches sight of Alex walking toward him. “Oh?” Alex questions. He glances down quickly, making sure everything’s in place. He feels great, honestly, in Ferrari red. “Did I fuck something up?”

WIP Wednesday

Hi! It is still Wednesday in my timezone, and I've missed a couple of these in a row, so I'm sliding in late.

I am kinda spread between a lot of wips some of which are redacted at the moment. So I'm gonna keep this short and sweet.

There’s a voice in his brain, though—one that sounds remarkably like Nora, because apparently he can’t know a moment of peace—that reminds him that sexuality isn’t so black and white.   He just— When he reminds himself that he likes girls, it’s easier to push down the way his heart speeds up when Raf shows up in a loose-collared shirt, to ignore how David Beckham looks in a suit, shaking your hand and telling you that you had an impressive race. It’s easier, when they travel to countries where homosexuality is a crime, to settle with what’s worked for him so far.

F1 au?? 👁️👁️

hey!!!

yes f1 au has been on the list for a WHILE. i'm a big f1 fan and have been cursed by somehow becoming a ferrari fan??? I don't know how this happened to me.

my ideas mostly exist in my head and excitedly musing on discord, but here's some thoughts:

Henry is a bit Max Verstappen-esque in terms of career journey and how fast-tracked it was, except the lineage is more Schumacher than Jost Verstappen

Alex is Charles LeClerc-esque: heralded as being great and moves up pretty fast still, but in Henry's shadow and not as connected. (I also see him driving for Mexico maybe???)

Alex gets the chance to drive for Ferrari, huge deal, then Henry announces he's going to move from Mercedes (which'll be the family team-Mary owns it a la Lawrence Stroll) in a shocking move

That's pretty much the exposition. F1 is so perfect bc it's one of the few sports that makes sense for them both physically, deals with SO much nepotism, and has two-person teammates who are also your rivals at the same time????? It's like it was made for FirstPrince.

In terms of my multi-chaps, this one is one-two wips away on the list :)
