I finally finished reading @littlecrittereli WK Reprogrammed and Decoded, and I loved it! So I did something-

I swear I couldn't stop thinking about Chris with this song after Diego "died" 😭😭

Hey there! I read both Reprogrammed and Decoded and was blown away. Unfortunately (sorta), my odd little brain had one little question that was burning from the end of Reprogrammed till the end of the story: what about the Wild Kratts Kids? How did they react to Chris's disappearance/return? I know if I were 8 and my teacher (i guess thats an okay metaphor? maybe?) randomly disappeared for 3 months and came back 10 pounds lighter with dozens of new scars and white hair in their early twenties, I'd be a little torn up/curious. How would Chris feel about showing up on screen in front of a bunch of kids in his state? Would he...wear a...hat...or something...? I don't know, just thoughts lol

They never told the public that Chris was missing (Didn't wanna scare the kids or give the Villains the knowledge that they were vulnerable)

And being out in the most rural parts of the world, it's not uncommon for them to go months without any sort of public appearance. For now, Martin is handling any sort of press alone until Chris is ready to be back in the public eye.

But of course they still run into a wild kratts kid every once and a while.

He's still working on his alibi.....

Lmao I haven't posted here in a very long time whoops.

Recently got super sucked into wild kratts again because I found out my partner has never seen it so we've just been binging and now here we are.

Anyway, I recently found @littlecrittereli and their AWESOME au's and fell in love with all of them, ESPECIALLY REPROGRAMMED/DECODED. It has me in such a vice grip I cannot stop thinking about it.

So, I drew my boy.

It's really good, I loved it but I suffered a lot, and something funny that I've noticed in WK's Aus in general is that Chris is made evil or he is the one who suffers the most all the time, it seems that the fandom has a taste for making Chris suffer (no hate)

a surprising amount of people on the WK wiki have read the Reprogrammed AU

5 of the 10 already had (including me), and 1 other person may have started! This was surprising to me because I assume the Wild Kratts wiki has a younger demographic the WK tumblr, and the Reprogrammed AU is a little mature for most of them. I hope they liked it regardless!

Im sorry but i gotta rant about this dream i had minutes ago (i just woke up)

Had a dream where theres a tumblr user (it was a wild kratts fan, also famous in real life (not in the dream) for their wk AU fanfiction i think it was called decoded or reprogrammed...idk why this person popped into my dream but i KNEW it was them because of the username and pfp in my dream) and...they were like talking about this "new" episode of wild kratts about horse, now yeah there is already an ep abt horses but this ones different..atleast the plot, they were like complaining about how mean the kratt brothers and the crew are?? Because they were like saying how "non-consenting" they are..? I think its because they were putting on horse reigns on their heads like a horse but i think they thought that its some kind of pet..play, the fucking stuff you see in BDSM bro what the fuck is going on, they showed screenshots of it

But like yeah... They also said that the crew and the brothers are pretty fuckin mean and why is zach to blame (zach also appeared in the episode, basically stealing horses to ride them..i guess?) and when i saw that "post" i was like.."yeah it doesnt make sense, maybe the show is losing its spark" and i ALSO thought that didnt they already made an episode of horses before this "new" episode?

Thats all i could remember honestly, it was a very ..weird dream for sure, probably the most weirdest of the dreams i could remember but not the first, I'd say third..no fourth

Intro Post

Since my blog is an incoherent jumble of content, I figured I should make one of these so it's maybe slightly easier to navigate. Hi, I'm Mingus (at least that's my nom de internet that i use when i don't want to use my real name), pronouns she/her. this is my secret blog where i try to work out the wild kratts fixation that has been eating my brain alive for months. I write the snarky wild kratts episode commentary, which is me watching children's show Wild Kratts as a very grown woman on an absolute wild amount of drugs due to my being a chemo patient. I don't talk a lot about my cancer on here because this is the place where i have fun, but i do mention it from time to time. about 90% of the blog is episode commentary, so the best way to experience it is just to click around.

Edit: as of Jan 15, I’m officially DONE with CHEMO, woo hoo!

I have a WK fanfiction called Dirtbags which is angsty realistic fiction where i torture the brothers by making them go through the same kind of garbage me and my dirtbag friends went through as young people haha. there is parent death, child abandonment, drug use and one STD haha, but there is humor and fluff as well. if that sounds like something that floats your boat, you can read it here:
