It would be remiss of me not to talk about the AU I've been working on for about a year now. Haurchefant lives, obviously. Many things change after the point of divergence when Bastien ripped Haurchefant free of the Life Stream, not the least they were now bound together, body and soul.

Wolchefant Week Day 2: AU

AU: Childhood Friends

Instead of going to Thanalan like most Ala Mhigan refugees, a wrong turn in Alder Springs lands the Walders in Ishgard.

Growing up as the sole child of a potter and a carpenter, Altheia knows what it’s like to feel like a stranger in your own home. Frequenting the Pillars, she has seen Haurchefant storm off to House Haillenarte many a time, sometimes from within that very manor.

Wolchefant Week, Day 2: AU

"Look out!"

The panicked warning made Dayn abrubtly stop his chase, turning immediately only to be pushed away by Haurchefant, by means of protecting him from the incoming attack.

A huge spear-like beam of light approaching at high speed met with the elezen's shield.

The Warrior of Light, frozen in shock could only watch in horror how the man he loved was holding off the attack with all his strength, clearly struggling from the sheer force at which it made impact.

But Haurchefant was undeterred, not only did his duty as a knight moved him, but the fact that he had to protect this man, his lover, 'Hope Incarnate', filled his whole being with the determination and bravery to face even the Holy men of the Knight's Twelve.

'I will not fall here, not now that I have you...we will see Ishgard saved, WE WILL PREVAIL!'

A loud scream, followed by an explosion of light.

At the low cost of his shield, Haurchefant blocked the spear, and saved the life of the Warrior of Light.

Sunrise - Wolchefant Week Day 2 (Modern) Au

Summary: They really should have made a few stops to rest along the way instead of powering through a very, very long drive. Their very first vacation day they slept for the entirety of it. Well, it wasn't so bad... being able to see the sunrise while sipping on mimosas, eating what was originally planned for an afternoon picnic but to hells with schedule. It was the perfect morning. A'zexo lightly dozing in Lovette's lap. Haurchefant leaning on her shoulder as he stroke A'zexo's hair. Truly, a blissful morning.

After surviving the Vault, Haurchefant became a Scion and joined Zelinda and the others with the liberation of Ala Mhigo and Doma. Now that the Enclave was restored, the couple now have time to discuss the next step in their relationship: marriage.

Sometimes at night, I dream of another life. One where you survived, or maybe one where neither of us were soldiers or adventurers in the first place.

I remember the words I wasn't suppose to hear, asking your father for an heirloom ring. The way you insisted we could live happily and how the words of others meant nothing. Once the war was over we'd live our lives together.

When I dream of it, I'm in my mother's dress, it looks just like it did in the painting of their wedding. I could see you spending the whole ceremony on your knee, "To look into those delightful eyes, and see that smile that outshines the sun". I think that's what you would say. I was never a firm believer of the twelve but I would swear my love to you in sight of Halone herself.

It has barely been a month, my darling Haurchefant, and I don't think I'll ever adjust to your absence.
