4YFNで新興企業に注目が集まる

600人の投資家を含む2万人以上がフィラ・モンジュイックで開催されたフォー・イヤーズ・フロム・ナウ（4YFN）に参加しました。5回目となる4YFNでは、感動的なトーク、ワークショップ、双方向討論、1対1の投資家ミーティング、アイデア売り込みコンテスト、「ピッチ・ザ・プレス」セッション、人脈作りの活動などを行いました。イノベーション・マーケットでは45カ国以上からの出展者600組織と国際代表団12組織が展示を行ったほか、このイベントではAI、ブロックチェーン、IoT、技術移転、企業ベンチャー投資などのトピックについての110時間のコンテンツを参加者に提供しました。

Women4Tech：男女格差を縮減し、多様性を擁護

2年目となるWomen4Techプログラムでは、モバイル業界における男女格差を縮減し、多様性を擁護することに目を向けます。4日間にわたり、Women4Tech参加者はスピードコーチング、人脈作りイベント、ワークショップ、モバイル・ワールド・ライブTVでのパネル討論、特別MWCツアーに加え、4YFNでの幾つかの活動に参加しました。Women4Techでは2018年の新たな活動として、オスピタレット市と提携してMeet & Eatで2件のイベントを主催しました。本プログラムはWomen4Techサミットと本日のWomen4Tech GLOMO賞によるリーダー女性の表彰でクライマックスを迎えました。

YoMoをバルセロナで再び開催

ユース・モバイル・フェスティバル（YoMo）は2年目を迎えて再びバルセロナで開催し、若者がSTEAM分野、すなわちScience（科学）、Technology（技術）、Engineering（工学）、Art/Design（アート／デザイン）、Math（数学）の分野で、教育とキャリアを追求するように触発するという目標の活動を深めました。YoMoの参加者は、さまざまな教育関連展示、ライブシアターショー、双方向ワークショップ、実践型アクティビティーのほか、教育者に重点を置いたワークショップや講義などに参加する機会を得ました。カタルーニャ州を含むスペインから1万5000人を超える若者と教育者が2018年のプログラムに参加するとみられ、本プログラムはオスピタレット市のラファルガで3月2日（金）に閉幕します。

最先端の技術を試験

GSMAはPwCおよびMEXIA Oneと提携して、モバイル・ワールド・コングレスのフィラ・グランビア会場への参加者アクセスを効率化するための顔認証技術を試験しました。この顔認証技術は、NFCやブルートゥースを含む既存のバッジ技術と併用され、4225人の登録ユーザーが会場へ容易に入るための別オプションを提供しました。

カーボンニュートラルなイベント

モバイル・ワールド・コングレスは2017年7月にBSI（英国規格協会）からカーボンニュートラルであることが再び認定され、GSMAはPAS 2060国際規格の下での認定プロセスを成功裏に完了し、モバイル・ワールド・コングレスがカーボンニュートラル状態を達成したことが確認されました。GSMAは2018年に向け、必要に応じて未処理排出量のオフセットを行い、本イベントの環境影響とカーボンフットプリントのさらなる低減に傾注しました。GSMAは2018年に一貫して、モバイル・ワールド・コングレスを含め、オフィスおよびイベントにおける認定を追求しています。
