We can't believe that we are telling you this, but today we (almost) finished Kushanas armor!!! All attachments are in place and aside from some minor details, the paintjob is completed! 🖌 This weekend was BEYOND productive! And even the weather gods were with us. Worblas Pearly Art I couldn't wait any longer and I know you guys are curios, too, so I tried @cast4art newest material today. I'm sorry for not being a Worbla pro, but I did my best. The new Pearly Art ist supposed to be even more smooth than Worblas Black Art. So I decided to make a quite detailed piece, which are usually hard to prime with Gesso or wood glue. First of all: Pearly Art is plain white and like most other kinds of Worbla it has one super smooth side and a sliiiiiighly more rough one. You can hardly tell the difference, except that one side is a little shiny. Because it's white you can see the colored foam trough, which made it easier for me to cut out the detailed shape. It sticks pretty well to itself, I think even a little better than Worblas Black Art. Despite of that, I was able to correct some mistakes by reassembling the pieces. While heating, it behaves like Black Art and hardens fast than Worblas Finest Art. While working with it, the surface becomes a little more rough, but it's still super smooth, even if you start sculpting it. The consistence is perfect for sculpting, a little like bubble gum, but without being sticky and it keeps the shape. I used a small screwdriver to make some engravings, which worked out pretty well. I was even able to stretch and redo the tiny strips a few times without them tearing apart. For the paintjob I simply used dark spray paint as a foundation and then painted it. The surface is rough enough to hold the paint well but there really is no need to prime it. Only where I bent the edges to the back, the surface became a little more rough, just as usual. I couldn't find any disadvantage. Maybe except for the fact that the color is not black, so you need to prime it with dark color in most cases, even when the surface is already perfect. Sorry, I'm a very lazy person... ^^' But I had lots of fun with Pearl Art so far and can't wait to try a little more with it. I am excited to see what Feder will create from it!
