pairing: gyuvin x f! reader METALLIC GREEN, WRAPPED WRIGLEY’S 5 GUM IN SPEARMINT RAIN. that’s what you always chewed. gyuvin wasn’t going to lie, the first few weeks of being your seatmate drove him crazy. the graveyard of crushed, bright green wrappers, the constant chewing and crinkling of new gum packets being opened. it bothered him. there was just something that ticked him off seeing you popping stick after stick into your mouth, crushing wrappers and folding them into hearts and random lobs.

or maybe it wasn’t the gum and noise. instead, it was you. the owner of the gum. the cause of the noise. the cause of distraction. it wasn’t the gum, no, it was you that bothered him. it was you, and the fact you paid more attention to the gum instead of him. gyuvin wanted to deny it, but the more he complained about it to ricky and gunwook, the more the feeling of realization creeped onto him. and then it became undeniable. kim gyuvin had a fat crush on you, and you seemingly had zero interest in him.

the most gyuvin had talked to you was when you had apologized for elbowing him, or when the two of you were paired up for an interpersonal in japanese class that he miserably failed . other than that you always hung around in your friend’s classrooms, and when he did see you all you did was unwrap, unwrap, unwrap. there was never conversation unless mandatory, and it drove him absolutely nuts. but he was going to change that, and he was not going to let a pack of gum stand between him.

the ticking of the clock echoed throughout the silent classroom, only the sound of mr.lim in the front talking about some history or something like that. gyuvin only watches the clock, the end of class seemingly hours and hours away. he glances towards you. you had long stopped taking notes a while ago, and instead, had taken to folding origami flowers, gluing petals together. a pile of six flowers lay on your desk, and gyuvin watches as you start to fold another one. this was his chance.

“how do you do that?” he whispers, laying his head down on the desk to face you.

“hm?” you answer, glancing toward the boy staring at you.

“that,” he points.

“the flowers?” you whisper, “it’s easy,”

“show me,” gyuvin retorts. you smile at him.

“what color do you want?”

“what’s your favorite?”

“lilac,” you answer, grinning. you reach into the compartment under your desk, and hand him the stack of your lilac post-its. gyuvin takes a post it, staring at you expectantly.

“okay, you gotta remove the stick part of the post-it first. . .” and as you direct him, he’s barely listening, his eyes watching you and you only. your voice becomes a welcome background noise amongst the sound of scratching pencils, flipping pages, and chalk on a board. and as he watches you, he could care less about the origami flower in all honesty, he only cared about you.

oh how he suddenly wished history class would never end.
