It's environmental story telling because this was where john Writeonwalls used to live, the guy that writes on a wall anything that makes him panic. If you find his place you might find "OH NO I FORGOT TO PAY MY TAXES" written on the wall.

My controversial game design opinion is that "environmental storytelling" should be actually, tangibly present within the game's environments. Hitting the player with a paragraph of lore every time they click on a random item in their inventory is not environmental storytelling – it's just hiding an epistolary novel in your game's UI.

Years. It had been so many years. They’d lived in plenty of houses, in plenty of cities, and spent countless days and nights together. Christian had finished school and had been teaching at universities, finding himself so content and happy in their life that the nagging reminder of his immortality hardly crossed his mind anymore. It wasn’t all sunshine and roses however, throughout their life together Christian had fallen in and out of bad habits, the drugs were mostly under control now but his drinking was always an issue. 

It wasn’t as if it started out as a bad night, and even now he wouldn’t consider it one, but he knew getting in a bar fight wasn’t exactly what August had wanted out of the evening. “Oh, hush, I’m fine.” he chuckled, blood dripping from his busted nose, bruises forming on his cheek, as they hurried from the pub so that he wouldn’t have to speak to the police about something like this... again. “I’m just glad he didn’t go after you, might have had to really kick his ass then wouldn’t I?” There was the unmistakeable smile of Wrath on his lips, arm draped around Augusts shoulder, giving a bloodied kiss to his cheek. “Now... are you drunk enough that I can convince you to come get food with me? Or are you going to drag my butt home and scold me?”

“What is this some kind of fucking joke?!” The swear was beyond out of place, but Christian was beyond mad... so it worked. “I saw you! I saw you with him! You fucking cheating piece of shit!” He screamed at his husband, absolutely screamed, shoving him a bit, not meaning for this to get physical, not wanting to risk Wrath coming out and actually hurting August. He hadn’t actually seen anything definitive, it was just hand holding, but he was convinced that it had turned into more than that. “You know what! You want to know something? Lust fucked someone else too! So at least you two are fucking even!” Tears were pouring down his face, all he wanted to do was scream and hit the other, it was bad, it didn’t help that he was drunk.

Where as he was very much engrossed by her beauty and smarts and personality, he knew he was just the bartender– and a friend at most. What hope did he have over all the rich bachelors pining for her attention? “So what mess did your mom sign you up for this time?” He asked once she sat down on the bar, skipping the greetings and getting right into the conversation.
