I couldn’t find any adequate material for this week’s entry. So, I began thinking about a resurgence of a former championship. I began searching through the catelouge for possibilities. And I remembered that I haven’t posted anything about this woman in quite some time now. There are literally dozens of photos that I wanted to post. But, I didn’t want to overload. Most of the photos were personally taken. So, I decided to showcase some photos that are slightly older. Yet, they have extreme character. These photos were edited from their original state. But, I believe this edit adds to that character. Reminds me of Sin City. Adds to that cinematic flare that is always evident with her. These photos were taken for Writingsfrommichael; a custom clothing designer. This woman is oozing incandescent presence. I can’t wait to see more from her.

Nia has pretty good makeup skills. I mean, I just saw that picture of her on writingsfrommichael and damn. She looks so much different from her usual makeup filled selfies. She makes herself look so different. I'm genuinely shocked at what some people actually look like compared to a face full of makeup.

True, but remember in the recent music videos and in photo shoots she usually has a makeup artist.

Can art be a form of resistance?

MwUahahAHA! Yes! Of course art can be a force of resistance. Art is anything you want it to be. Now more than ever are people using art as a way to voice their opinions and views all whilst performing acts of resistance. Artist everywhere are increasingly using their work to explore questions of political issues, social issues, race, ethnicity, justice and so much more. As mentioned before, Pepón Osario created large installation art as his voice to spread awareness on social issues such as toxic masculinity and budget cuts in schools. All through out the years many artist such as Yoko Ono (my fav), fought for peace through film making and dancing. Up to today, one of my personal favorite artist is a man who expressed his art through painting on clothes with such amazing quotes. His name is writingsfrommichael. I will post some pics in the next post!
