Taosheng - Spectro Gauntlets, Huanglong

Since I've been tirelessly playing Wuthering Waves lately, I thought it'd be fun to design an OC for it. :)

Basic Attack(s): Madman's Fan Dance

Basic Attack Taosheng performs up to 5 consecutive strikes with his fans, dealing Spectro DMG.

Heavy Attack If not in possession of Bind, Taosheng performs an X-shaped lunge with his fans towards a targeted enemy at the cost of STA, dealing Spectro DMG.

Mid-air Attack/Plunging Attack Taosheng performs a spiraling downwards stomp from mid-air at the cost of STA, dealing Spectro DMG.

Dodge Counter Taosheng employs a Basic Attack after a successful Dodge to attack the target with a spinning slash of his fans, dealing Spectro DMG.

Resonance Skill: Heavenly Shackle

Taosheng attempts to ground himself and chains himself to reality by piercing his chains through a targeted enemy, dealing piercing Spectro DMG.

If in possession of at least one stack of Bind, Taosheng also applies a Shackling Curse to himself. There are a variety of shackles he can apply to himself, which are elected at random:

Shackle of the Tiger: Taosheng loses 25% of his HP, but gains a 15% outgoing damage bonus for 8s, with additional Spectro DMG bonus scaling off of his max HP. Shackle of the Tortoise: Taosheng's movement speed is decreased by 25%, but all incoming damage is converted into "reserve healing" that will trigger automatically when a new shackle is applied. This healing scales off of how much HP he is already missing + his maximum HP (shackle debuffs are ignored for this calculation). Shackle of the Rat: Taosheng's maximum HP is halved until the next shackle is applied, but the next shackle's effects are doubled.

Heavenly Shackle recovers one stack of Bind for his Forte Circuit.

Normal Cooldown: 10s Concerto Energy Regen: 12

Consumed Bind Cooldown: 15s Concerto Energy Regen: 17

Forte Circuit: Folie à deux

Taosheng can hold up to three stacks of "Bind." 1 stack of Bind is recovered on every 5th Basic Attack, every Heavy Attack (that does not consume a Bind), or every usage of Heavenly Shackle.

When holding one stack of Bind, Taosheng can perform a Heavy Attack at an enemy and shackle them, immobilizing them in place for 2s and lowering their DEF by 15% for 4s.

If holding two stacks of Bind, holding down the Resonance Skill button will consume both stacks and Taosheng will shackle the targeted enemy, as well as subtract 3 seconds off of Heavenly Shackle's cooldown.

If in possession of three stacks of Bind, holding down the Resonance Skill button will consume both stacks and Taosheng will consume all stacks of Bind and shackle the targeted enemy, subtract 3 seconds off of Heavenly Shackle's cooldown, and restore a large portion of Resonance Energy.

(If holding more than one stack of Bind and wishing to only consume one, a Heavy Attack will suffice.)

Binds will naturally decay over time; if Taosheng does not use up his Binds for 5s after exiting combat, he will lose all stacks of Bind. When swapped out (but still in combat), Bind stacks will decay at a rate of 7s per Bind.

Resonance Liberation: Proof of Innocence

Taosheng performs a devastating dirge lamenting about one's existence. All enemies within his general radius are shackled for 3s and their DEF is decreased by 15% for 5s.

If in possession of 3 Binds, Taosheng will consume all Binds and additionally perform 3 rounds of chaining himself to the surrounding enemies, dealing piercing Spectro DMG. In addition, he will gain 2 stacks of Delusion, which offsets his Bind consumption by 1 per stack. (i.e., If in possession of 3 stacks of Bind and 2 stacks of Delusion, Taosheng will consume 1 Bind & 2 Delusion when performing Heavenly Shackle.)

If not in possession of 3 Binds, this bonus attack & effect will not occur.

Consumed Bind Cooldown: 20s Resonance Cost: 125 + 3 Binds

Other Notes (Backstory, etc.)

- Taosheng is not his real name.

- Taosheng finds the Rover interesting because of their potential for providing him interesting stories to relive.

- Taosheng’s favorite food is a strange concoction that can only be described as a messy slop of river seagrass, cave crabs, and excessive amounts of salt.

- Taosheng is from Huanglong, but not a Jinzhou native.

- Taosheng is in his late 20s.

- Taosheng is obsessed with finding an anchor to his reality or some form of salvation from his sisyphean task of finding a story that may one day satiate his appetite. However, he also detests the idea of his endless cycle one day ending. This leads to strange bouts that swing rapidly between pleasure and distress at any ideas of his future.

- Taosheng’s voice can be described as somewhat sly and foxish, but raspy, as if he’d injured his vocal chords somehow.

- Taosheng has a penchant for appearing in odd places at odd times. If he appeared in the ingame world, you would find him in random caves at 4 am, or behind military lines in Jinzhou sitting on top of a base’s roof.

- Taosheng has a macabre fascination with TDs and their freedom from thought or memory, and will let out gleeful laughter when chaining himself to them in an effort to perform what he believes to be “mental synchrosity.” (No, he does not have any background in science.)

Animations

Resonance Liberation

Taosheng covers half of his face with his fan and laughs gleefully, turning away from the camera before letting chains burst from his Tacet Mark. The force throws his upper body backwards and his head is jerked upside down (similar to Camellya) for a moment before he uncannily straightens back up with a snap and doll-like spasm of his body. The chains sprouting from his Tacet mark visibly pierce through the bodies of his enemies, and have an odd “spearhead” shape that quickly transform into hooks once they impale an enemy.

Resonance Skill

If consuming any Binds (amount does not matter), Taosheng lets out a bitter cackle as his body seems to go lax, slouching for a moment, before his body jerks in the opposite direction of a chain shooting out from his Tacet Mark and piercing through an enemy.

If not consuming any Binds, there is no “cutscene” animation; instead, he simply shoots a chain through an enemy and binds them to him.

Today in the new event area I have learned that the fisalia's only eat poisonous foods! You can find a cook from their family in port of riccioli, just up from the dock in the morning, his name is sodrigo and he's talking to a man called perricci, trying to order a bunch of fish which happen to be poisonous, perricci says he's heard rumours that the fisalia family only eat poisonous things which now definitely confirms for me that Cecilia has been poisoned by her family long before they suspected her to be against them.

This also gives me an idea for another chat thought from her and her signature dish, the original dish is nuvola pasta, and when Cecilia makes it it has a chance to become...

Sea bunny ragu pasta, made with the knowledge passed down by the fisalia family, instead of the usual meat it is prepared with the normally toxic meat from the sea bunnies that reside around the family's ancient home, Cecilia has fond memories of being taught how to make it by her mother, and gladly talks about the intricate ways you need to cut the meat to ensure outsiders to the family can enjoy the surprising delicious delicacy.

Thoughts 5: when I was child I was quite frail, my older brother would often push me about and i would be too weak to get back up without some aid from the help. Mother would often insist on trying to eat food despite my nausea, funnily enough the days I missed dinner were the days I felt the best, haha! Of course, my body is far stronger now, I could eat everything I did back then and be fine now.
